Three of us booked for Sunday lunch. Hubby and I chose the lamb, which was absolutely scrumptious. Grandson, who is vegetarian chose the nut roast (no other option). The selection of vegetables was okay - peas, carrots, cabbage and swede. An option of cauliflower cheese would have been nice - at an extra cost. It was however, disappointing not to have a Yorkshire pudding. It seems that they only come with the beef. My grandson in particular would have liked one - he didn’t have any roast potatoes either, which I think is ridiculous. It was a very tasty dinner with real gravy but for the price yorkies should have come as standard.

No complaints regarding food, well presented and served quickly. The ambiance is lovely, staff are friendly and efficient. This was my fourth visit in as many months. Portions were very good! Menu, albeit small does the job! Deserts were fabulous!

Visiting Morrison hospital, so popped in for lunch on the way home. Very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the cooking. 3 thick lamb chops, seared to perfection and slightly pink, yet the fat had been rendered well, no small achievement. The lamb potatoes, gravy and carrots very tasty. Frozen peas are..well frozen peas. I had seafood linguine. The linguine was so al dente, the way I like it and the sauce was flavoursome. Most of the seafood was good, the squid rings slightly over cooked. Too much for me but I prefer quality over quantity. Tom - you can cook and I will come again and recommend you pub to my friends. The Abbot Ale was good too. So I would say that the Plough is a welcome stop on the way to and from the hospital

This pub could be a gold mine if run properly.Attended with a large group for drinks outside.Benches are all broken plus cigarettes butt's everywhere.Didnt have no ice to put in drinks.Kids had meals which where shocking for the price.Cheap chicken nuggets and uncooked chips. The menu was ridiculous ly priced.Who wants them type of meals in a village pubs Apparently the owners are the same as the eagle further down the road. The eagle menu will knock spots off it.Friday night it was dead nobody having a meal. They need to up their games otherwise they will be closing like all the other owners

This pub has awful beer and also awful service. From what I saw they treat they’re regulars with no respect at all and every pint I had was sent back as it was so terrible. The last land lord was much better there was much better service, there wasn’t girls who looked 14 serving pints. There is no food served there so I’ve got to go else where for food, spend more money on food else where than I do in the plough, everyone always say “why the plough” and I honestly don’t know why. If the rugby is on as in the six nations there isn’t food served only pre made sandwiches but else where has big meals made for the regulars but also new comers. In the plough new people are never made to feel welcome.

Beef all fat, gravy was water with a brown tinge, veg from freezer(disgusting) yorkshires again out of a bag from freezer, stuffing had to pay £3.00 extra for 4 small cubes (out of a packet) - 2 sunday roasts?????? £23.00. I took one look and refused to eat it - my husband is a hearty eater took beef off his plate plus stuffing and was left with cabbage tasteless frozen food. I am not a chef but can cook and my husband can so in future will be doing our own - fresh veg, homemade yorks and thick welsh gravy Also guy behind the bar had no mask on even when leavin the bar.

Thought wed give the Sunday carvery a try.Big mistake, probably the worst Sunday lunch out weve ever had.Dry meat and tasteless vegetables and gravy with a distinct lack of management on the premises. After the lockdowns youd expect pubs to make a massive effort to get things moving, sadly this pubs moving in the wrong direction totally.

Regular visitor to the pub who was initially delighted when the pub was refurbished at the beginning of last year but it seems that standards have slipped recently. No idea who's in charge anymore and it seems as if the young staff have been left to it without any additional help. Really unfair on young staff with little experience to be tasked with serving a full pub through the xmas period with absolutely no sign of management. It hasn't always been like this and at the beginning the landlord was regularly there, no sign of him anymore. Really feel for the young staff who can't have been older than 17/18 to be left to run a busy pub.

Been loads of times since the refurb and enjoyed every time. The staff are friendly and polite and the pub is very clean. Throughout Covid social distancing was taken very seriously. Food has always been good but the chips are stunning. I won't mark my review down but I do feel it's missing 'management', all the staff are young and there just seems as if something is missing. When the owners first took over they were very visible and the landlady is lovely, there was also a young man I assume was the Manager. It just felt more complete.

Went there for Sunday Lunch, lovely venue staff were great, my only complaint is that we love roast potatoes that are cooked with the meat juices 😀, they were either roasted in the chipper or in the oven with oil which you could taste 🥲hopefully the chef will take that on board

A lovely Carvery only complaint was that we could have been served more meat. Covid precautions were taken seriously and tables were called yo the Carvery one at a time. And everything was served for you. Something I thought was brilliant was that you could take your own gravy bust of gravy to the table yourself. We’ll definitely be calling again.

Jafrezi a little watery but had a spice kick but chicken a tad dry, rice was uncle bens boil In bag rice, chips were fantastic in both, garlic chicken dry and little flavour of garlic. Jafrezi for some reason had a side salad with balsamic glazesauce??? Why??

Won’t be returning in hurry, bad service, limited menu which is fine if they are all actually available which they weren’t. Ordered the garlic creamy mushrooms which smelt wonderful but unfortunately were absolutely tasteless!! Very loud youngsters drinking when your eating a meal is not for me, this pub definitely caters more for drinkies rather than diners Some of the food itself was actually nice shame it wasn’t cooked as asked and had to wait until all the rest of the party had finished before it was brought back. Shame it could be such gem

I was at this pub/ restaurant this afternoon with a group of ten other people, socially distanced at different tables, the reason we all met today was for my birthday which happens to be a special big one, out of everyone there I was the only person that had a bad meal, I told a young man who I assumed was the manager that the salmon I ordered was overcooked, he took it away but simply returned the same piece with the parsley sauce I had ordered, I can’t think why he did this as I had cut it down the centre to show how dry it was, so it was quite obviously the same piece, VERY VERY BAD customer service, this is the way to quickly get rid of people that could become potential regulars.

Wonderful atmosphere in this traditional yet modern chic restaurant and pub! The staff were very friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble . The food is absolutely amazing and I can recommend the perfectly cooked and tender sirloin steak with onion rings and home made chips, not to forget the mozzarella sticks as a starter with the chilli jam - it was so good I kept the left over jam from the starter to have with my main course, DELICIOUS! The orange flavoured gin with lemonade was also a hit with me, beautiful blend of citrus left the tastebuds very refreshed. The land lady and land lord are also wonderful at making you feel welcome, lovely family run business, 10/10 from me, we will be back very soon

Firstly the pub only re-opened on February 29th, with a new decor and management team, the decor a great Improvement on the previous. The pub itself has been much busier than previously and obviously there will be teething problems across the board. These reviews are down to personal views and expectations I can only say what our experience has been and so far so good. The serving of food started last Saturday, we had a table for 4 and had 4 very enjoyable meals, a mixed grill,a burger ,corned beef pie and a very good child’s chicken nuggets, all presented well and enjoyed. We returned for a pre booked carvery on Sunday, table for eight, we had no issues at all with the carvery or desserts although we did hear some others complain on a nearby table. I will say that this was the first day for the carvery and that it was really busy throughout.Ours friends asked us to join them yesterday for a drink and we ended up having curry and gammon meals, again no problemsThere are plenty of national branded pubs in Swansea with the ‘plastic’ /fast food microwave offerings, this is not oneAgain it is early days and the management & staff may have some issues that may require some constructive criticism, but let’s have some patience. For us all good and yes we will return.

Me and my hubby thought we would give it a go as it’s nearly openedPlace looks lovely ,we decided to go for the carvery After waiting at the bar for 15 mins to just get a drink we eventually orderedWe were disappointed, there was no stuffing ,no swede, the girl serving forgot to give the Yorkshire pudding with the beef, and I forgot to ask ,it was only when I sat down I thought where was it,it wasn’t very hot either ,and it had just opened for the day .Was disappointed that the girl serving the food ,didn’t have no hat or net on ,to keep her long hair from falling into the food, but then I also noticed that neither the chef who also had long hair and a young boy in the kitchen didn’t either ,bit bad in the environment they work in.Also on another table they had eaten their carvery and was still waiting for ham egg and chips for the Mam, 15 min after they had finished it came ,come on it’s ham egg and chips for god sake ,doesn’t take long to do that.Didn’t even order dessert ,god knows how long that would of tookNo one came round to even ask if everything was ok, poor.

From start to finish my visit was a shambles. Got to the pub at 18.00. It wasn't busy but it took us 30 minutes to order our food at the bar. Absolute shambles of an ordering system! A young boy wrote our orders down on a piece of paper and then had to go back and forth to enter them in the till one by one as we were paying separately. About 30 mins after we placed our order staff came and told us one of meals wasn't available so we had to re-order one meal which then delayed all our meals...40 mins later staff came and told us another dish wasn't available! By this time we had had enough of waiting and asked for a refund...how can they take so long to realise they haven't got certain dishes! The young man who appeared to be in charge then took ages getting our refund. The excuses he gave for shocking service were rubbish...he just kept saying it was because they were busy (they weren't). He was also laughing!! Not professional at all. We were offered free desserts on out next visit! Next visit! We won't be going back! Absolutely shocking and used to be such a nice pub! I have given them a score of 1 for the decor but that's the only good thing I can say!

I visited this pub/restaurant recently where the food was heavily disguised in what they called Hickory chicken, it was "rubbery" and bland. On top of this there was a national promotion running where you can get a free drink legitimately from a very repuputable campaign running for Great British pubs for National fortnite running until Aug 4th 2019. Despite this establisment being listed as one of the places taking part in this campaign they failed to follow through on the promotion and refused point blank to accept the promotion code stating that they don't do free drinks. Slow staff and not particular friendly either. Not a great experience at all.

Great place for lunch, evening meal. Sunday lunch outstanding. Not a cavery though. If you are a medium to small eater ask for small meal. I use this place average four time a month. And have done for several years. Quantity and quality is A1. As for the staff great pleasant obliging. Angie the chef prepares supper meals the fresh plaice and cod is to die for. Get my vote every time. Yes the place is not all that busy but that is like all the pubs now. Owner is quietly doing it up. It must be good when you see the same faces there all the time month after month. Plain simple food presented well and tasty.

We walked in to a large empty pub, went to the bar asked if we needed to book, was told no and go to the food section and was told no vacancies, we left and got as far as my car when the waitress came running over to us and told they had vacancies but would have to wait half a hour, no problem. We went back got our drinks and waited for the waitress, and was told the only food on offer was a Sunday Lunch or nothing. Although not fussy eaters they do not like Sunday Dinners. We picked what one liked and the other had soup. When I paid and was leaving they had children's menu's on display, which we was told was not available.
