This was a real gem of a find. Four of us went there for breakfast. We all opted for x items for £x. Big thick slices of proper bread, no plastic stuff here. Beautifully cooked and will definitely go back there again. Staff very pleasant. Sat in the court yard on a lovely sunny morning.

Gorgeous little outside area which is dog friendly. Moment we came in with my little terrier they dropped a bowl of water for him. Out breakkie burgers came out super quick & were really tasty for the cheap price point. After our meal I asked if I could pay for a sausage for my dog & they brought one out & told us it was on the house! Amazing service & made us feel really welcome. 10/10 recommend as a dog friendly spot

Great Italian food, rustic chilled atmosphere, fantastic prices, best pizza ever! £15 for a bottle of Prosecco - happy days! This place is only open for dinner Thursday Friday and Saturday 6.30pm to 9.30pm (but also do great lunches during the week, but it deserves more local support and custom! Many restaurants could learn from the “keep it simple do it well” menu here. Loved our night out - will be back!

LJ’s are have branched out as an evening brasserie/wine bar, as well as staying a cafe and excellent place to have breakfast and lunch, with superb food and it’s just what our little village needs. Three of us had starters, mains, a pudding and cheeseboard with plenty of drinks for £82 and it was well worth it. The portions were great, everyone left happy and the team are warm and friendly, long may they continue!

Amazing cafe. Really friendly staff and atmosphere. The best sandwich spot in miles and miles! Hot fillings are a real treat - but call and book yours ahead.

Just visited LJ's 'Knibbs' cafe for the first time. What a fine place! Food is excellent, decent coffee, service friendly & attentive, decoration is perfect. If asked how it could improve I'd be stumped for an answer. Well done LJ & staff - I think you've cracked it.

2 bacon, jumbo sausage, black pudding, egg, beans, mushrooms and hash brown with toast and tea or coffee for £7.50. You won't get better than that. Service was a little slow but that was due to the large number of pre-orders being made up. That in itself is good sign of how popular this place is.

Stopped here for breakfast during a stop over on our way to Cromer. Lovely little café, the breakfast was superb and the staff were so helpful and friendly, even bringing water and treats out for our dog.

Although a small café, the menu is varied. The choice of sandwich fillings are excellent. We chose the brie and cranberry and when it came we were not disappointed. The rolls were so fresh and the filling very generous and very good value. We were given a choice of bread and rolls and the owner took the trouble to explain the many choices of fillings on offer. The mug of excellent tasting tea was only £1. You can't go wrong. The only problem you may have is making a decision as there is so much to choose from. You can sit inside or outside and take-away is also an option. A great stop for cyclist and walkers.

LJ's is a real gem. The menu is varied, from bacon/sausage butties to sandwiches and rolls with a good variety of fillings to choose from, full English breakfasts, chips, burgers, and of course LJ's freshly cooked roast meats with accompaniments, roast pork with apple sauce and stuffing, roast beef with yorkshires!! What's not to like, the atmosphere is good, staff all friendly and it's good value for money.

The food was absolutely disgusting. Cold, greasy, and looked unpalatable. I couldn’t eat it and they didn’t even ask why. Avoid!

We have been coming to Coffee at Star for a good number of years, for as long as we’ve been parents of a Junior rower! Firstly, it’s an incredibly welcoming and inclusive place to come. You don’t have to be a member of either Star Club or Falcon. Dogs are welcome and it’s so nice to see so many there on a weekend especially. The service has always been exceptional, it’s run by Ann and her team. They offer the best hospitality, which we’re not always known for in the UK! The location is very special, with immediate views of the Great River Ouse from the balcony. There is also a modern, cosy space inside with sofas, tables, chairs with plenty of blankets and cushions to ensure your visit is as comfortable as possible. The selection of food never disappoints. I can vouch for all of it that I’ve tried (and I’ve had a lot!). I am a regular consumer of their waffles with yoghurt and fruit, I enjoy the granola bowl too. My kids enjoy the waffles with bacon, the halloumi breakfast bap is a family favourite and of course they sell essential bacon/egg baps as well as just toast! Breakfast, brunch isn’t where is stops. There is always cake available, meaning it becomes an ideal place to drop in, have a bite to eat and drink and enjoy the views! Have I mentioned that the coffee is AMAZING, they have a wide selection available and I can vouch for their delicious skinny flat white and chai latte. The smoothies are a hit with parents, the kids and everyone else it seems. A must for your trip to the Riverside in Bedford!
