This restaurant has now moved to Northways Parade. We went for dinner and it was like being at the Faulty Towers restaurant. They were short staffed. We ordered wine and water. We waited ages then they came back to explain they only did a bottle which was what we wanted. We then got white wine when we ordered red and as for the water, the glasses turned up but no water. We had to show the waitress the pictures of the food on the menu. Our mains came up with our starters so when we were ready to eat the main courses they were cold. The staff were more concerned with the people having Hot Pot than coming to serve us. One couple got really fed up with keep being bothered by the waitress who kept coming over with food. In the end she told the waitress to just out the food down. We asked for the bill and reluctantly paid service charge. We had to help the waitress clear the table too. We also found we were sitting at one of the Hot Pot tables and all of us are quite short and small found it hard to sit comfortably as the seating was quite a way from the table and we could not stretch our legs out properly. There are wires going into a socket on the floor which were exposed and we found we kept treading in them. We will not be coming back. Shame as when they were up the road it was excellent. Just shows you big is not beautiful.

A bit lonely on a Tuesday evening. Waitress very absent minded though. Service prompt but somewhat disjointed. Food tasty and portions good. Quality fine, but unremarkable. Would come again if a little busier to give some atmosphere.

Sadly we left very disappointed and upset as we had been looking forward to a nice meal. The food was bland and lacking in seasoning, oily, vegetables overcooked (aubergine & beans were dry and shrivelled), the egg fried rice tasted and looked as if it had be reheated in a microwave; lotus roots with pork barely had any meat in it but big chunks of fat. As for the service??? We had to keep getting up from the table to ask the waitress to take our order, bring water, get the bill at the end even though there were no other customers in the restaurant. Zero interest in serving customers once we sat down. May be because we arrived just before 3pm and later read online that the restaurant closes 3:00-5:00pm. It would have been better if we had been told that the kitchen was 'closed' and we could have may be tried another time; but now we will neither recommend this restaurant or come back for another meal.

I ordered beef noodles to takeaway. The service was indifferent. The noodles were acceptable, not special. The beef was precooked, dry and tasteless. I wouldn’t go back.

To say this food is bad is the biggest understatement. The food I ordered was so revolting, it was like it had been dug out of the bin from about 2 years ago and covered in lots of sauce to try and disguise the fact it is pure garbage. I would never touch this place again with a barge pole. It was horrific. Filthy, dirty food that has most likely been pulled out of the freezer after a minimum of two years. Do not trust this place. Vile.

Made a big takeaway order tonight, maybe 9+ dishes. The food arrived hot and on time, however we found a metal hair pin in one of the rice dishes. Pretty certain that it was just an accident, but when we called the restaurant they refused to even take accountability or apologize. This level of disregard for the well being of the customer is something I've never experienced before. Had they even an ounce of empathy for what could have been a major health issue, I wouldn't even be here writing this review. But now I'll be sure to warn everyone I can. I've attached photos for proof.

Firstly this review is 100% genuine and only my personal opinion. I have recently had a takeaway here and I was very disappointed. I had a special fried rice and the was in my opinion it was poor. The rice was oily and the meal had very little chicken and prawns ....and it was expensive too. Apologies if this offends.

An extensive Szechuan & Cantonese menu that looked promising sadly let down by poor service & execution. We came here late after a movie at 02 and for a small establishment, it had am ambitious menu of Szechuan and Chinese foods. We tried both and it is clear the strengths of the chef lay in the former, as the mixed seafood noodles, a staple of Cantonese restaurants was a poor reflection of was expected with no squid and not crispy at all. The Kong po prawns were ok, salt & pepper ribs good. The spicy fresh beans were excellent. Our gripe and advice to them is: 1. Appalling service getting the order wrong and then missing one dish 2. A waitress who was not attentive and we had to ask for cutlery, serviettes and rice 3. Food did not come out all at once 4. So as one of our party is a previous successful restaurant owner, our advice to Little Szechuan is: a. Concentrate on service, be attentive, smile b. Cut down the extensive menu and just go with your strengths in Szechuan food and execute it well and on time

Its a place that divides some people who find its slower family-run service a bit slow, then others who find it more Chinese authentic. In fact it's more of the old-school Sichuan food story where the fgood is good and spicey, but the service is slower and the decor is a bit faded and not showy. It seems favourite of backpackers and students. We had the twice-cooked pork and the spicey beef. It was tasty and filling; with tea 13 pounds each and we left full.

The staff could be more genuinely friendly and not to open door in the winter to imply to us that you wanted to close the restaurant at 11:15. `Come on, next time pls don't take late bookings if you don't want anyone sitting after 11. I didn't pay £80 just to feel how it is to be disappointed. I could be a bad one and take our time but we respect you guys are tired and want to go home. But this is not the way to treat your clients.

This restaurant is not a luxury establishment, but that’s of no particular consequence, and on our visit the venue was well patronised. Prices are reasonable and service friendly. Unfortunately the cuisine was not a highlight of our visit. As others have said, there’s a fair amount of chilli in many dishes, but sadly, for us, the other basic ingredients are not especially prepared and cooked. It was an unremarkable meal. We won’t be visiting again.

Booked a table for 4 people via phone and they didn't even ask for our name for the booking and hung up. When arrived we got the Hotpot (online it says it was £19.80 per person for dinner but turns out it was actually £21 something per person) and was a little confused as to why the lady serving us asked what we didn't want in our hotpot and it turns out that we got EVERY INGREDIENT that was on the menu and we were not allowed to order more or what we actually want unless we finished it all. Our sliced beef and sliced lamb was served frozen like it was straight from the freezer as it was still pretty hard and had frosting over it. There was no any type of sauce selection at all and the only thing they bring out for dipping sauces is peanut sauce and you have to ask for chilli oil separately. Overall, I recommend not coming here for the hotpot as their quality is very poor and you're limited to the selection that they offer unless you force yourself to eat what you don't want since they bring it all out for you anyways.

It didn’t start particularly well. The manager whilst taking another diner’s order upon my arrival rather gracelessly pointed to the table I could sit at. I admit I didn’t choose well. Confronted by a long list of lunch specials either already including rice or noodles but which looked a bit bland plus tea for £7.99 and a huge a la carte complete with pictures I plumped for the a la carte starting with a hot and sour soup then choosing a pork and vegetable stew which I assumed needed some rice. The hot and sour soup came in a larger than expected bowl but apart from some small indistinct stringy bits of meat comprised, I think, tofu, mushroom and carrot. A smaller bowl with the odd shrimp would have been so much better. The pork stew turned out to comprise the occasional piece of pork embedded in noodles thus rendering my rice entirely redundant. The rest comprising mainly large potato wedges and courgettes resembled not so much a Sichuan but a Lancashire hot pot.

My partner and I thought we would try this restaurant after looking for a Chinese place on Finchley Road. The person in charge possibly the manager or owner was not the friendliest of people and asked if our table could be shared by others before we even sat down on the table. The restaurant is small with approximately two couple tables. The other tables are to seat for persons. One larger round table for bigger groups. The price point was average. The starter was ok we had king prawns and other vegetables fried with a very light batter. My partner ordered the chilli chicken. The chicken was of poor quality and almost rubbery in texture however there was a large amount of it, one dish could easily be enough to share with two people. I ordered the king prawn noodles that was ok it did not taste of anything.

We were in Soho but made the trip here as its my son's favorite and it was worth it. Like many family run Chinese restaurants, they don't have much by way of social skills so don't expect a chat or silver service. You don't come here for that, nor the decor. The steamy windows run with condensation and your clothes will smell of food. But the food is good. The bill came in Chinese. Go there and see for yourself.

Food tasted alright but on the same day, all my party members had bad stomach, those who ate the leftover takeaways the following day had more problems with their stomach for the second day running. The restaurant will ask for cash payment, and 10% service fee, which should have been deducted from the bill since I wrote the order s myself. The manager gave the Chinese diners 10% off for paying cash, and none for the non-Chinese speaking ones. Going to report to the council for its poor food hygiene standards and HMRC for tax evasion.

We had hot pot for two a few weeks ago. It was one of those meals where you wake up in a haze an hour in. There's chili oil on your face and coriander in your teeth. You have spilled food on your clothing and haven't even noticed. You keep eating because it kinda' feels like you're working while you dip morsels in broth, so you know, you can keep eating. You waddle out and hope no one notices the wafting scent of sichuan pepper in your hair and oil stains on your trousers. It's that good. The service was lovely, the food was excellent, and I'll do it again in a few months.

I have just returned from a 4 year work assignment in China, the last 3 was located in the museum town of Anren, close to Chengdu in Sichuan province. Whilst there I enjoyed eating in a wide range of restaurants and cafes on a regular basis. The eating experience at the Little Sichuan took me back to the best of the eateries in and around Chengdu. If you are looking for authentic food and an authentic Chinese eating experience then look no further. It offers a no hold barred Chinese menu (rather than the usual anglicised, and poorer, version). Service was very good and the food very well cooked and flavoured. Much enjoyed.

We had the duck spring rolls to start, then shared chicken and chili peanuts. All of which were fresh, delicious, SPICY, good value and plentiful. Service was efficient, polite and timely. I really couldn't care less when the food was this exceptional. As for the comments of others on the authenticity of the food, I couldn't comment, but certainly the numerous Chinese diners in that night would seem to suggest so. Highly recommended.

I did not like anything about this restaurant, very shabby looking place, the food was ok very bland the service was terrible and the menu is very limited, and on top of that we go to pay and she says sorry we don't take card....who doesn't take cards??? Rather embarrassing as our friends had to pay for the bill cannot recommend this place at all, definitely wont be returning

as a keen lover of chinese sichuan food we always wanted to try this restaurant and yesterday we did,..booked for 8pm on a saturday night,..presented with a Menu that was simply awesome and could not decide what to have so basically we tried most of dishes that we love and it was just delicious and the portions are quite large so dont overdo it as we did.but we did devour at least 80% and took the remaining 20% home with us. Service was very good and rest rooms nice and clean, easy to park as the finchley rd02 centre is just 5 minutes away...small and practical with mainly local diners of a mixed variety,..all our dishes were excellent and could not fault our experience atLittle Sichuan.....yummy, yummy and yummy, we shall go back again for sure

I hesitate to write this review because I want this place to remain a local specialty, not swarming with tourists. But he food is so good and I feel the restaurant owners deserve to be renowned. This is hands down the best Chinese food I've ever head anywhere in the world, including in China. It's a cute, family-run dive - it's not fancy at all...just fantastic food. I'm uploading a photo of my favorite dish - Sichuan Dumpings. I eat this at least twice a week. The price is also very cheap. This place is always packed on the weekends, so you need to reserve. Most of the clientele are Chinese...word gets around.

My favorite local Chinese restaurant, staff friendly and always can order specials that are off menu of order in advance. Food is always excellent.

Tried for first time on 27/10/24 and loved it! Proper old school Chinese takeaway - had a spring roll, sweet and sour pork and a house special chop suey. Very generous portions, competitive prices and friendly service. It is cash only but that is no problem to me. I'll be back!
