This play cafe is looking very tired now. The toys are old and often broken or missing parts. I have never seen any rotation system or evidence of cleaning. The whole place feels grubby and a bit sticky. It’s a shame because the idea is great and the food is good but it’s just not been maintained or refreshed. Apparently they’re starting to open for adults events in the evening which I can’t see helping with the cleaning.

Been a regular customer since the Little Peacock opened. Excellent all-rounder for food, sociable play and drinks. We even visited the on-site hairdresser today who was fantastic with our 2 boys. Food wise, the menu has a number of crowd pleasers. We love the full English and fresh soup. I noticed today also today how the staff were very diligent with the cleaning and tidying away tables. Our boys loved the new toys today and was so nice that they didn’t have to stay in their seats like in a conventional restaurant and our 2 and 4 year old could just enjoy play time while we ate our food!

Absolutely love visiting here, my little ones love it. Staff are super friendly and always happy to help. Food is amazing as well, you can tell it’s homemade and my little ones love it, think they’ve pretty much tried the entire menu. If you want

My favourite place in South Liverpool to visit with young children, The staff are friendly and all either have kids or love them, you never feel awkward if your child is having an off day. No one blinks an eye. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. I've seen the staff regulary cleaning and rotating the toys. My daughter had her birthday party here last year also, no request is to big or small. Want a bouncy castle? A bunch of animals? A disco? Character visits? They sort it all. Recommend anyone who struggles to get out in the early days with a baby try this out, you'll always find someone to chat too and make you feel at ease.

Called in while my son was in The Royal hospital. Asked for the small breakfast but no mushrooms or tomatoes. The owner was very pleasant but after he served my coffee (I did ask for a latte but an ordinary coffee came) he carried on chatting with a bloke sat at a table. Then he went off to the kitchen. A few minutes later my breakfast came. It looked as though most of it had been deep fried. It came with mushrooms which I didn’t want, no baked beans. The egg made me heave, dirty brown white and a broken yolk undercooked centre floating in the white albumen. Bacon was a crisp and the sausage cut in half and deep fried. The toast came just buttered in the middle. Would never eat there again. I took pictures but can’t post them on here. Apart from the bloke sat at a table I was the only customer.

Wraps and bowls are good. Really like the halloumi hummus side and the salt and pepper sweet corn ribs.

Had a few beers here with friends and watched a football match that was competing with the karaoke. One of the punters saw himself as a bit of a singer . For karaoke to work you've got to be really bad, and be aware of that or really good. Sadly Alan was the worst type, not quite as good as he imagines himself to be. ...* Edit* ... Quick reply from Black Cat has helped jog my memory. Disregard the review above as I was mistaking the Black Cat for another bar in the City. I did have a few beers here late one night as, if I remember correctly, they were open later than the other bars. It was rammed. The service was good ,looks like they have a few good events in the week.

I really enjoyed the broccoli with roasted hazelnuts & pigs in blankets. My waitress from Brazil was very friendly and checked on me often. Nice decor.
