Little India in Wellingborough

Lovely staff and really good food but unfortunately the smell of cigarettes wafting downstairs into the dining area was horrible. This unfortunately has put me off returning

Service was slow, very clinical surroundings. Food (salmon curry) was very poor, dry and tasteless. Would not return.

Takeaway this time. Food amazing. Staff friendly and helpful as always.

The Sunday buffet is brilliant value for money. It's not the best curry I've ever had, but it's still very nice.

Fantastic fresh food as always!

Really poor and slow service. We asked to order our mains and was told to wait until after our starters. Had to wait for ages for my kids drinks as I think they were forgotten about. Food was ok but very slow and not very hot. When I spoke to the waiter regarding the service all he did was shrug and say "well". Its a real shame as little India used to be a lovely place with great service!

A fantastic experience. The staff are so polite and helpful, and extremely hard working. I'm no expert on Indian cuisine, the manager explained the meals in such detail so we made the correct choices. The food was excellent as was the service and cleanliness. We will definitely visit again , highly recommended !!!

We had a very busy week and we wanted a break from cooking over the weekend so we ordered food from them a hour and a half in advance and they still missed food and when we called to ask them for it they said they could not deliver it as they had no drivers and only offered a carry over till the next delivery assuming we will order with them again

Love this place. Their food is far better than others in the area. The staff always great. Whilst their takeaway and delivery service is superb, I can't wait until they fully open. Highly recommended. 17/02/2023 Lamb madras, saag rice, chapattis - guaranteed crowd pleaser.

I highly recommend Little India. I only get chance to eat here once a year at Christmas so only manage 2 or 3 curries depending on how long I am in town.....however, every single meal I have had has been perfect. Service is always good and the food gorgeous. If the delivered to Italy then I would be ordering every week!!!!

Excellent food and the staff and service were spot on. They were very helpful in accomodating food allergies which can be frustrating for both the venue and the customer. All in all thoroughly recommend Little India.

Had a rough week and realised I'd got a bit of heat exhaustion so needed to eat and decided on some old fashioned comfort food, chapati and curry. No delivery service so I had to collect but I needed to force myself to get up and about. So glad I did. I think the chapatis were the best I've had in a long time! Portions were good, taste was good, not great but certainly not bad. (I've had a few takeaways that I wish I hadn't, so these guys are still worth frequenting) . They're popular in this village because they have a lovely old restaurant set up. Building is in the centre of the village, been an eatery for yonks and people love the atmosphere chilling. Bar is well stocked and place is clean so, yes, can recommend.

Well what a night. We went with good friends and after our last visit a number of years ago we were so happy . The food was delicious with great flavours and portion size was fair. We had a great meal and will definitely be back. We returned just my wife and I and again we're very happy with the food. They were very helpful in making a recommendation based on our tastes and we were not disappointed. Lovely food , lovely people!!!

Brilliant little place great food at very reasonable prices staff were amazing especially with my two grandchildren taking them into the kitchen.i wud highly recommend this place I'd defo say the best I've eaten on my trip to Northampton.

We visited this restaurant for the first time on Saturday 31st July. Arrived at 7.15, already quite busy, glad I reserved a table. Very reasonably priced wine and a comprehensive menu. Excellent service and Maz was very helpful and friendly. We took our time over the meal, and there was no attempt to rush us to order. Spending almost 3 hours in a relaxing environment. Very tasty food. Will definitely return

Easy to order, great customer service, open late, home delivery available, food is cooked fresh, arrived hot and if you order over a certain amount you get a decent enough free bottle of wine. We were so pleased the 1st time we ordered in February 2020, we decided to order something different every time thereafter. Just opened the menu, point and ordered. Whatever it was has been absolutely delicious from traditional Indian dishes to a great steak. We would usually go for the same dishes which can be tedious from other places but we have complete trust in Little India’s menu We thoroughly recommend this place. Little India Earls Barton, don’t change a thing.

The food was totally fabulous ,5 stars but we ordered a coke and lemonade which arrived flat was exchanged Straight away but it was supermarket budget brand and tasted it, 1 star but as the food was so good will definitely go again but it will be water next time

Regular Customer Review - Its up there for being one of the beat Indian Restaurants in Northamptonshire. Prior to living in Earls Barton I would travel 10 miles to collect as its such a good quality and value. Their staff are friendly, knowledgeable and can have a laugh with customers. Ordered for the first time yesterday after a recommendation. Now found our new regular Indian as the food was lovely. Fresh and really tasty and different dishes. Could not fault it. Definitely recommend.

Helpful polite staff and amazing food.

Wide selection of Indian dishes and specials including the usual balti, biryani, tandoori cooked foods with sides and a coupe of British dishes for good measure. Good draft Cobra and Kingfisher. Well priced and not over the top.

We went as a group of around 10 people and had the Sunday buffet option. The food was great and the staff were really accommodating to the fussy eaters, the vegans and dairy free's within the group. The staff offered alternatives to all the dietry requirements and the food was clearly cooked to order. Can't wait to go back - very good valie for money

Went for a quiet christmas meal with friends. Very nice meal and accommodating staff. Meal took a while to come to the table but i believe it was cooked fresh so we didnt mind. Plenty of food for your money. Very tasty, will definately be back. Wasnt busy so nice and quiet. Recommended.

We visited here on a Friday night after a few drinks over the road. Extensive menu and reasonably priced wine menu. Service was a bit haphazard but the food was good when it finally arrived. Large portions and well-presented. Recommended.

As a great fan of Indian cuisine, I found the food amazing. Some lamb curries in other establishments are as tough as leather. This was succulent and very tasty. Full marks all round. I think someone over fried the chillies in someone's order. A touch of coughing easily relieved by a tad more cobra lager 😁🍺 My only gripe is that if staff have differences of opinion, then they should settle these behind the scenes and not in front of paying customers. This was very noticeable. Other than that, well done everyone. We will return 😊😊😊

The Little India provided a delicious selection of meal for my leaving meal. It was quick and easy to book a table for a small group and the menu catered well for our needs. Delicious food. Would highly recommend.

The menu selection is massive, almost bewildering. Chicken garlic special bhuna was thoroughly enjoyable. A couple in our party, nervous about having anything too spicy, asked the waiter for advice and were pleased with their meals after his guidance. Almost everyone chose from the "House specials" which is essentially a £9 main course menu, you need to add in rice, naan etc., to that price. I notice they have specials on Wednesday and Sunday which we will go back for.If I had one suggestion for the restaurant I would consider trimming the menu choice down next time they are printed. I would prefer to choose from 20-40 gems rather than a range of 80-90 options. If a need exists for variety for regulars then a weekly specials might be an option.

Best curry I've had in years. The rice tastes actually of what it says on the menu, a rarity. The meat was tender and tastes of actual meat, not generic hard stuff, like many of their peers. The waiter had the ability to hold a conversation using reflective body language, making it relevant and not seem like he had to.. again, a rarity. This restaurant is an actual gem and deserves to be lauded for being what the customer really wants, and without wanting to sound like a broken record, it's a bonafide rarity!

Excellent Vegan and Vegetarian food, warm wonderful hosts that couldn't do enough to help us. Brillant atmosphere. Would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone, especially those looking for top quality vegan cuisine.

The food was OK not the best I was more annoyed with a group that was in shouting and rowdy and being just rude far too much to drink in them the owner should of told them to be quite or leave but he didn't there were at least 3 other tables you were annoyed won't be back

I've been to many Indian restaurants in the area but this is consistently miles above all the others

I ordered this evening a House Special Tandoori Mossala Dish along with a few other things. To say this was edible was an understatement. 3 pieces of chicken, 3 pieces of lamb tikka which you couldn't even chew and..... No prawns. Too much sauce and to the Puree Bread. Completely inedible and grey looking. Very disappointed.

Staff very well dressed but could have been more friendly. We ate all the food and found it to be very nice. However the chutneys were very runny and the Naan breads could have a had a few more ingredients in them. It is definitely one of the better Indians in the Northants area.

So I've been in this village since 2015 and Northamptonshire since 2011 it's taken me this long to find a a great place to eat out and low and behold it's right on my doorstep this place has a great menu great staff then when the food arrived well what can I say outstanding the chicken Naga was amazing full of spices and great flavour .. I have been on a quest since I moved back home to find a friendly place that served great food and finally The Little India is the place ... Don't take my word come and try you won't be disappointed...

Always a friendly welcome. Banquet night 5 options for £11.99. A great opportunity to try different dishes. Recommend the mixed kebab and salmon tikka starters. Draughty cobra and kingfisher.

Truly fantastic food and selection of it, the staff are wonderful, we've got to know them over the last 7 years. Our go to spot for quiet nights out or when friends visit, highly recommend trying. Also don't forget the phone in takeaway option to get your favourite when you've ran out of time on a night.

Reshmi kebab starter was decent; a good portion and tasty. The fancy king prawn dish (£13.99 inc. rice) had plenty of big whole juicy prawns but would have benefitted from more spice. Same with the Bombay spuds. All of it was ok but at £24 for one I was hoping for it to be a bit more of a treat...

We visited here Saturday evening, early, the place was empty, we were showed a table, we were there for 15-20 minutes and no one asked if we even wanted a drink. The staff were more interested in taking orders for takeaways.!!!

OMG this place has got to be the best Indian restaurant in the area. The food is fantastic, the staff are brilliant and the ambience is great. Thoroughly recommend that you go there but advise to book as it gets very busy due to its popularity.

Another excellent meal at Little India.

Took relatives last Sunday evening early, excellent meals, excellent service, the staff are really friendly & helpful. Good size portions in fact usually need a “doggy bag” which is willingly supplied. Never had a bad meal or service. Thank you Little India my relatives loved it.

We decided to try a new place and had heard good things about this one. We were welcomed and took to our seats. We had poppadoms,they didn't have much taste like other one's we've had. Our main dish was delicious. We ordered a liquour coffee it was very sweet to previous one's we've had before. All in all good atmosphere talking of atmosphere i must say it got a little steamy when another diner's dish was brought out on fire!

Had a lovely meal today with the wife,food was spot on,meat was very tender,very good service, staff couldn't do enough and we're friendly.

I am surprised i find myself having to be negative about Little India based on the reviews listed, and the fact i ordered from here on strong recommendation by family members, however the food i received was possibly the most bland and watery i have ever had from an Indian restaurant. I am serious when i say shop bought jars had more going for them, and i don't even mean the ones with the gimmicky lids full of the ground spices, just a cheap pour and stir sauce would have pleased the tastes buds more. I did try to save it by adding salt, chilli flakes and pepper etc but it was no use, the flavours in this meal were missing in action and no search party would ever find them. The chicken pieces were uniform thin cut strips, not the moist chunks you normally find so i was also left thinking they looked like the pre-cut frozen breast strips you see looking miserable in the back of the freezers in ASDA. As i say i had heard such great things about the food, yet found myself trying to eat something that had about as much excitement to it than a photograph of a fax machine in a Dixons brochure from 1993. This disappointment was also shared by the other two recipients of this experience.

Love going here, lovely place, friendly staff always having a laugh have time to talk to you , always on hand to helping you with the dishes,and information on what’s in the dishes and how hot the dish is.

Have been attending here for years and has long been a firm family favourite. Never let down with the quality of food. Often opt for takeaway over eating in. Great takeaway menu as well as dining in menu. Friendly staff and lively atmosphere. Good value for money.

We where driving back to Leicester after attending Santa Pod fireworks and fancied a curry. I looked on maps for nearest Indian and this came up. We managed to get a table for the four of us. The food was so tasty. Our two daughters ordered chicken and one ordered steak, I thought the steak was poor but I we were in an Indian restaurant!

This is our local, we have take away and also eat the restuarant. The food is always tasty and the service is excellent.

Have eaten here before but this was our first experience of the Sunday evening buffet and it won't be our last. Excellent value for money at around £12 each. We had a platter of starters - some onion bhajis, crispy rolls and really juicy chicken...

This restaurant is in one of the few thatched houses in the village, and they have kept the original feel of the interior with white walls and black beams. The menu is varied - with plenty of house specials and authentic dishes for those people who want to try something more than "Chicken Tikka Massala". Clearly labelled to let you know how hot things are. Excellent customer service
