Le Spice Merchant Indian Cuisine in Wellingborough

We have ordered takeaway and waited nearly 1,5h for the delivery. My partner called them to check how long and they were saying 3 or 5 mins every time and still not delivering. Then he spoke with the manager who promised a full refund apart from the alcohol and never received. Total joke! In responses to the merchants comments The delivery was 1hr and 20mins late and it wasn’t a Saturday it was a Wednesday. Your business offered a refund on the 30th and still to this date we have been given the run around. We have called numerous times with the same excuse ‘the manager is not in’ We have also contacted Just eat and NO REFUND has been processed. The owner claims he has don’t it over the phone when we asked for proof so we could approach JustEat. But he refused. Unfortunately our experience was aimed up by the owner call us on a private number and giving us the customer verbal abuse and swearing which we recorded on our phone. We have been chasing this since the 30th of September - Just eats terms and conditions state a refund is processed and paid within 4-7 days. We are now on day 15 we will probably never we the refund… but that’s how this business likes to operate. We would have been happy with the restaurant offering a free meal or something similar but they offered a refund. Again they made no attempt to solve the issue. From ‘we will give you a refund to it’s not our issue contact just eat’ bravo!

Good quality and quantity of chicken. Madras sauce was nothing special and bland. Garlic bread was tasteless. Far too expensive on price for such mediocre food. I won't be returning. I was the first customer to come in at 5pm when you opened on 26th September.

Dopiaza was to spicy it’s supposed to be mild the madras was ok

rang restaurant for a request of some cheese on the cheese garlic naan bread. ask for the onion baji not to be over cooked and they may aswell of been charcoal. vegetable rice was not vegetable rice and was jnfact mushroom rice. I am allergic to mushrooms lucky caught in time. very disappointed as this restaurant is normally really good.

This was the first time that we had been to Le Spice Merchant. When we entered the Restaurant the first thing we noticed that it was nicely decorated with rich fabrics on the chairs and the tables were nicely laid out. We were impressed by the table linens, especially the very large cloth napkins. Initially the menu seems to be a traditional Bangladeshi restaurant type menu with standard Indian Restaurant dishes. However, as we read on we noticed that there were a number of other dishes which we had not heard off before and we decided to try those. For my starter I had a vegetarian pepper stuffed with spicy vegetables, which was very nice. It was not spicy hot, but the flavours were excellent. My wife had the Chicken Tandoori, which was tasty and as good as she had had elsewhere. For our mains I had a Lamb Naga Mirchi, which was quite hot and had a nice thick sauce and a flavour that I had not had before and was delicious. My Wife had a lamb Madhuri, which was a bit milder than mine, but was also delicious. We had an Aloo Sag Mushroom side dish, which also was very good. Many restaurants struggle to achieve a good vegetable side dish,this one was very good. My wife had coconut rice and I had a peshwari nan. The main dishes were quite generous and as they were so nice we ate them all. The presentation of the meals was exceptional. The plates were warmed, which makes a lot of difference to us and the crockery was stylish. The service was also very good being attentive, but not intrusive. I noted that they had Kingfisher Zero which was good as we were driving. The bill came to £61.00 which was very reasonable. All in all it was a very nice meal in a nice environment.

Ordered a madras, was very water and no taste, mash potato would have more flavour and spice, Bombay potato was tasteless also. Would not order from her again.

Awesome food and spectacular service. First time being here and would definitely come again. I had chicken jalfrezi which was flavoursome and the person I came with had the recommended fish curry. Everything was cooked beautifully, both the fish and chicken were tender. We will be back!

It’s a Lovely restaurant who catered for our bday celebration they even put in some personal touches for us at our request they went the extra mile made everyone feel so welcome and the food was amazing as always the price is good we will definitely be going back to here soon as we have another occasion to celebrate haha thanks guys you made the day perfect

We came a long way for this Indian meal, all the way from France. It was a superb meal, the onion bhaji were the best I have ever tasted. The meal was totally delicious. Would highly recommended this restaurant and will certainly be back. Thank you for your hospitality.

Great food! The flavors are really good and as close to authentic as one could find in the city. There is a limited menu which is probably different during lunch and dinner. We had lunch and ordered quite a few things just because we were excited and wanted to try as many dishes.The cocktails are also really good!

Amazing! Driver was lovely and polite! Food was absolutely amazing! The wraps are HUGEEE (made with naan) so delicious so much flavour! Would definitely recommend the chicken tikka naan! My partner had the pizza naan it was delicious! Would highly recommend!! 10/10!

I’ve enjoyed meals in the restaurant previously but was very disappointed with this meal. The chips were inedible as they were so greasy and the popadoms couldn’t be eaten either as they were stale…you could literally bend them in half without snapping 🤦‍♀️ the korma didn’t really taste of anything but my partner did enjoy the tikka masala and naan bread.

nornally love the food from this place but last night's wasnt good. onion bahjis were cold in the middles and undercooked. 4 pieces of chicken in both mains and the rice portion only filled half the tray it was delivered in. not the best.

The food was warm not hot, the bag was full of yellow grease that had spilled on to the poppadoms making them soggy and on top of the Rogan Josh.

Picked up a curry after a few beers at the Ale Hub. It’s within walking distance of home so convenient Pleased to say my takeout was cooked quickly and I was delighted with the food. Often takeaways aren’t as good as eat in but this was pretty close Staff friendly too I’ll definitely be popping in again and would recommend

Excellent gem of an Indian restaurant we found on a recent trip to watch the Moto GP at Silverstone. The location in Wellingborough was lovely, plenty of parking nearby. Staff were very attentive from the moment we arrived until we left. The choice of food and drink was excellent and prices very, very reasonable. We are Northerners and expected Southern prices 😉 but all was priced ideally. Food was hot and fresh All in all, excellent location, staff and food, probably the best Indian meal I have ever had and will definitely return when back in the area. 5star.

We were so pleased to hear le spice had reopened, it has always been our favourite Indian locally. Their onion bajis are amazing, massive and incredibly tasty. My daughter and I also love their butter chicken and my husband tried their tikka masala Sagwala. All were super fresh and tased delicious. We preordered through their website and had it delivered and the driver was 5 mins early and very polite. Well done to all at Le spice and once again we are so pleased that you have come back

I've came here about three times now and every time everything about me spice merchant is perfect. Me and my family are going to miss this place so much and can't wait for when it will hopefully reopens.

Well! What can I say!! Another blady perfect dinner again! Food was piping hot, tasted delicious 😋 My instructions I wrote were honoured and it was delivered super quick! Delivery driver, delivered with a smile and a thank you! I use to go Ali's for a long time but switched to Le Spice Merchant over 6 months ago and I am yet to have a bad meal! My daughter enjoyed her nuggets and chips also. Thank you for a great meal, we are already looking forward to the next! 🥰😍 see you soon!

Food used to be delicious at LeSpice, but over the period there is a drastic change in their food taste. I have ordered Chicken Naga Biryani today, it doesn’t have salt or any spice. Tasted really bland.

Worst Reception.... Ordered food on Uber Eats. Restaurant accepted the order and let me wait for 45 mins and tracking said order is being delivered by Restaurant driver and can expect food anytime soon. Called the restaurant after an hour and they said they cant deliver as my location was far. Why did they even accept the order in the first place? They made me wait for more than an hour and then cancelled my order. The person who answered the call was really rude too.
