Little Ginger Deli And Cafe in Stroud

For mum s birthday was delicious and after being diagnosed gluten free with the dr the week before this was not a problem the cafe catered for myself and it was delicious my only sadness is I don’t live closer it’s a hour away out worth the drive and I’ll be back

Claire and her team did the catering for my 50th birthday party lunch. She worked with me to establish what was sensible for the number of people, and to meet my budget. On the day she delivered to my house a delicious range of freshly made sandwiches, salads and quiches, as well as a meat and cheese platter. The food was excellent, and there was almost nothing left at the end of the night - always a good sign! I would certainly recommend Little Ginger for function catering. I also pop in occasionally with friends for food and/or coffee - it's an excellent little cafe in the heart of Stroud and a great spot to meet up, with outside tables in the better weather.

I bought gift vouchers for afternoon tea for my friends birthday. We opted for the Christmas option, Oh my it was huge!!! The amount and quality of food was amazing. The best afternoon tea we’ve had. The staff are very friendly and Stroud is lucky to have such a great cafe!

Lovely coffee shop with a wide choice of cake. Flat wide was great and beautifully presented with a squiggle on the top - a sign they know what they are doing! The cake was spectacular apple, cinnamon, toffee and sultanas but I forgot what it was called. Thanks

Second time I’ve ordered a platter for my partners birthday and second time I was really happy with the quality and variety. I visit the cafe for a chai latte, cake and quiche regularly as their food is always fresh and homemade. The staff are very friendly and Stroud is lucky to have such a great cafe!

My daughters treated my husband and I to afternoon tea here for my birthday. We were not disappointed! Service was excellent… friendly and attentive. The food was mouth-wateringly good… a fabulous selection of amazing full sized sandwiches and savoury products followed by Eton mess in little tea cups, scones cream and jam, and a variety of delicious cakes - all home made . Popped in with family for some lunch and respite from the showers and the craziness of the local market. We had a toastie and ploughman’s lunch which was really tasty. When the server realised the Oreo milkshake was to be shared between two boys, she took it away and got two glasses without asking. I really liked the seating upstairs with the views up and down the street. I really recommend this lovely independent establishment.

My mum & I recently had afternoon tea at Little Ginger and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were amazed by the selection of sandwiches & cakes, and welcomed warmly by their staff (which is something we fondly remember from our first & last visit to the cafe).

Thirsty and tired, we sat down at this, the first cafe we saw in Stroud. It looked fine and the two other customers at the outside tables seemed satisfied. We waited for about ten minutes and the waitress passed us twice with not a word. She then sat at a table inside on her phone. I decided to go inside and see why we were being ignored to be told it was counter service - there was no indication of this anywhere. I gave my order - just two drinks- and waited … and waited. The waitress must have seen we were still waiting. After fifteen minutes another server came out with cakes for customers who arrived well after us. I stopped him and asked about ours but he knew nothing about it. Then the original waitress came, apologised and said they had lost our order! Disappointed.

Being a warm sunny day we chose to have lunch in their pleasant street side seating which was very nice. The staff were cheerful and gave good service. The choice of food was a bit limited and quite expensive for what you get; £8.99 for a ham and cheese sandwich is quite toppy even when good quality filling is used. Our main disappointment was around the wine we had hoped to enjoy with our lunch. A large and medium glass of white at c£16 seemed expensive but that didn't matter. The wine however was brought to us at room temperature having not been chilled. We asked if it could be swapped for Rose, which they agreed, only to inform us that that also was not chilled. The reason, despite previous customers complaining about the same issue, the boss chooses to switch the drinks fridge off at night. Very poor decision. On the plus side we were refunded the price of the drinks but we would have left happier if we got what we should have had and they wouldn't have wasted half a bottle of wine.

I ordered two take away cream teas to celebrate my Mum's birthday. Wow! They were fabulous - generous sandwiches, delicious quiche, savoury pastries, and wonderful cakes! It helped make her birthday very special. Thank you.

Definitely not my first visit, but it might just be my last. The venue is cosy, tidy and well furnished, and the staff as I've encountered are always welcoming and friendly, but the prices are definitely on the high side. I appreciate that inflation likely pays a part here, but customers have inflation to deal with too. £12/£13 for a quiche and salad? £7.50 for a mere toastie? Getting a bit too much for my pockets I fear, which is a shame. The quality of food rarely disappoints, but (if I wanted) I could nearly get two large subways for the same price charged here. Don't particularly enjoy leaving these such reviews, but it'll get the four stars cause I think it's worth that. The fifth star doesn't make it due to cost. Sorry. 😕

This cafe is modern and bright with lovely menu choices. Lots of seating upstairs . Friendly and helpful staff , helping to carry pram upstairs and providing a changing mat . A little pricy, but generally on par with other cafes in the area with a nice ambiance. Wish the orange / almond slice was twice as big as it was beautiful !

The welcome was warm, the cafe was warm and the food delicious. A delicious mushroom soup and a robust and generous wrap with lots of extras on the plate.
