Incredible bread! Every loaf has a perfect crust and is deliciously fresh. The sourdough is tangy and light, while the baguettes are crispy and airy. Highly recommended!

Stale & unfriendly, when It comes down to the energy of the staff and atmosphere. I don't think I've felt as unwelcome by staff in a coffee shop before. Go and support another coffee shop that actually wants to interact with customers rather than be borderline rude. A shame when the coffee and pastries were good.

I'm glad I stopped by. I enjoyed my oat flat white which greatly complemented the croissant I got. The croissant was a great bake. It was soft whilst retaining its airiness and flakiness. The notes of salt enhanced the sweetness without it being overbearing. I will definitely be returning to try their other baked goods. The Little Bread Pedlar in Bermondsey is situated under the arches and there wasn't seating available. There was a slender "counter" outside where you could rest your coffee but the space was limited. It's located 10 minutes away from the river Thames, so I got to enjoy both the coffee and croissant at Bermondsey Beach.

Hi, I wanted to send a message to say how disappointing your Bermondsey bakery branch is. Every time I have gone there (several times when they were a counter and now today, when their Dockley Road shop opened), there isn’t a friendly atmosphere: no one greets you with a hello or a smile either when walking in or looking around; when we asked about the pastries, we are answered with a monotonous, uninterested tone (from different employees, I have to add). I actually live close to this bakery but now that I have subjected myself to this unfriendly and unwelcoming attitude from your staff (including one of your employees who I saw in the shop, near the window a few days ago, whom I smiled at and I was returned with a expressionless reaction), I know now that I will not be going to this bakery anymore. Your staff must not be trained on being humans let alone customer service; they seem to believe that your baked goods alone will keep this branch afloat. While SOME of your baked goods are good, a lot of the pastries are too sweet and not worth the money. How the prices of these pastries are thought up, I do not know. I can assure you that other customers will pick up on this unwelcoming atmosphere and we will all take our money elsewhere. I support other local businesses in the area who have excellent customer service; know that I will no longer be supporting yours. I really hope anyone who reads this will sort out this branch or it will not last in this area.

I wish I could love LBP more…had Kouign Amman and cardamom bun but they were not on point for me. The bun was a bit tastless and the Kouign amman was too bread-like rather than french buttery crunchy pastry. Also the ciabatta italian style made with sourdough tastes too much like sourdough and not like a fluffy ciabatta. Service is very nice though and coffee was great.

Amazing speciality pastries and treats at this branch that you can't get at the other branches. Flaky, buttery, delicious pastries that satisfy your pastry fix. The coffee here is amazing with a decaf option. The artisan organic sourdough bread from wholegrain to white is super tasty. Queues are long in the morning but it's worth it as they sell out fast, and the queue moves fast.

2024 update: Quality has gone down in equal parts to their pricing going up. It’s now unaffordable and no longer very good. I don’t recommended LBP, even if you live in the area as I do. Their nearby Pedlars Kitchen closed as it was a disaster from day one. They are now selling from this arch bakery location. Update. They no longer sell bread from this location. Strangely, they’ve removed the location of their nearby cafe from google maps. So good luck finding it. So delicious! I’ve been coming here since Covid lockdown and have become a big fan. Their cinnamon bun and orange/cardamom are delicious. Their other pastries are down to taste. I really like their bread too. Unfortunately they’ve been impacted by inflation so their bread/pastries are becoming quite pricey.

Service: unhelpful and rather unfriendly - I asked for (and pointed at the pastries tags) a hazelnut Chocolatine first then the staff put a bun in the bag. Then my bf asked for an orange cardamon bun. Then she said ‘thats already a cardamon bun. So it turned out hazelnut chocolatine was sold out and she could have told me but instead she just put A BUN in the bag for me. The worst thing is, I’m actually ALLERGIC to cardamon(trace is fine but i cannot consume it). I was misled and my allergy could have been triggered. Taste: like overnight tesco pastries - I did not try the bun but my bf was rather disappointed. £3+ for a stale bun

Used to get my weekly supply of sourdough from here but the quality has really deteriorated and probably not worth the price now. Whilst I understand that they are still trying to set up the new location and make a transition to a cafe structure, I don’t understand why do they have to compromise on quality and hygiene. 1. The new structure of picking your own loaf of bread is absolutely unhygienic. While LBP has kept tongs, I saw a well dressed couple pick up their loaves using bare hands. This is absolutely disgusting! I don’t want other people to be touching my loaf of bread. For all I know this couple might have just come from the tube and touched the bread without dirty, unsanitised hands. FYI - their toilets aren’t functional yet so obviously I don’t expect people to “wash” their hands before picking up their bread. 2. Cheese toastie/ sandwich- not worth £6.5+. It was a very normal cheese toastie and I could hardly tell the difference between the two types of gourmet cheese that they claim to have put in toastie from a regular supermarket cheddar and mozzarella mix. The toastie took a very long time to be served and inspite of that, one side was overdone while the other side was underdone. To add to all this, the toastie was served on a “KFC” plate (see photo)! Trademark infringement? 😅 A humble paper or cane fibre plate would have been a better alternative. 3. Coffee - the cappuccino was just average. The expresso was probably under extracted and it was sad that they served a “dine in”, in a paper cup instead of the ceramic mugs that were just lying on top of the expresso machine. Why make a fuss of being served coffee in a paper cup? Well it’s just physics - ceramic retains more heat (higher specific heat capacity) and hence your coffee remains warm for longer. Bottom line: won’t be visiting this place again.

While the concept of the bakery is nice, there is room for improvement with the staff. They seem to lack acknowledgement and helpfulness, giving off a sense of disinterest through blank stares. Additionally, the queue system could be better organized. Furthermore, having mountain bikes stored inside next to the seating area and random clothes piled on the bench in the customer area (presumably belonging to the staff) takes away from the overall cleanliness of the bakery. It would be expected for a bakery to have a higher level of tidiness and customer service. The products themselves are really good quality.

I recently visited this great bakery and it’s new coffee shop in Bermondsey I was so impressed! The pastries were made with real butter and high-quality flour, and the dark chocolate was delicious. You can really taste the difference in the quality of the ingredients. It's a true local gem and I've been visiting it often since I moved to the area (before they were selling straight from the bakery premises under the bridge). The only downside is that the opening times keep changing, and the early morning opening hours have shifted from 7am to 8:30am. It's a shame that the bakery closes earlier in the day, so it's too late when I come back from work and too early when I'm heading to work. Other than that, I'm always happy with my visits to this great bakery!

I've visited this place couple times to pick up a Christmas Panettone and an Eastern Colomba, so I'd be judging those products. I have to say these stack up really well against Italian artisan made products, so fresh, moist, on point in terms of sweetness (not overly sweet), yet with a distinct personality in taste, possibly due to the use of Tonka Beans (not common in classic italian panettoni/colombe). Very very impressed, you should be proud of these Made in London delicacies.

After reading all these positive reviews I had really high hopes for this bakery, as it's been on my to-try list for 2-3 years now. So one Sunday morning after I woke up really early because of post-holiday jetlag, I decided to trek all the way to LBP and finally try it out myself. It had literally just opened when I got there at 8:30, so thankfully there wasn't a queue. It was also super rainy which definitely put people off from coming so early. I had a look the pastries and went with the plain croissant, hazelnut chocolatine, maple pecan swirl and the cinnamon bun. I then went home and tried the cinnamon bun, which I must say wasn't particularly impressed with, as it tasted just very average like any other bakeries out there. It's on the fluffy side, and the sugar on top added some crunch to it. A few hours later, I also tried the hazelnut chocolatine and this was when I got very surprised about the quality of the pastries - it was chewy! Just because I left the pastries aside for a few hours after purchase doesn't mean they should have turned chewy! I was genuinely shocked that it was like that particular given how early I got to the bakery which meant they must have been just baked! It's not flaky, the shape seemed off even though the taste and the filling was great. I have never eaten a croissant-type pastry that's chewy and I don't believe it should ever taste like that. So now I am really confused why others think their pastries were even good?! As someone who has tried millions of bakeries in London and around the world, I am truly disappointed with the quality of LBP. Before my visit to the bakery, I really thought this would turn out so positive that I could start recommending my friends to come. But I guess that's not happening.

The bread here is absolutely delicious. I buy the wholegrain sourdough regularly. The pastries are super crispy which is not to my taste but I know lots of people absolutely love! The one thing that could really improve this place is if they had a machine to slice bread for you, as in many traditional bakeries. Their sourdough is hard to slice as it's so beautifully crusty (or perhaps I haven't a good knife!) and I tend to slice it and freeze a lot of it, so would be really great if they had a slicer and I know fellow customers who might imagine the same service. Thank you for taking my feedback into account!

Some of the best pastries ever without exaggeration! Absolutely try the Kouign Amman, you won’t find anything else as buttery, flaky and caramelly in life Only wish the staff were a bit friendlier :)

A great seafood restaurant, we loved everything from the range of olive oils to pair with the bread through to the more complex seafood pasta dishes. The pasta is incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked, and the range of seafood - octopus, mussels, squid, whelks - we had was uniformly great. The grilled octopus was a stand out dish for me and it’s definitely a place I’d revisit on special occasions.

We really enjoyed every single dish! Especially beef Wellington. House red wine was lovely as well. Casserole Croute restaurant is cozy, it reminds so many places in France! We will definitely be back and recommend to friends!
