Terry's Cafe in Southwark

Whilst waiting for someone I was parked saw terry’s cafe across the road and thought shall I have a brekkie. GOOD DECISION lovely food and the staff were lovely and on the ball. Also dog friendly and good value for money as the portion was above expectations I would actually travel through the London traffic to come here again and that’s saying something. I have always said my ex wife’s cafe was the best breakfast around (wheelies Brighton) but this is better but my ex would now add arsenic to my order if I went back ha ha. I wanted to share a quick recommendation with you. Recently, I had a fantastic breakfast experience in London that I believe you should not miss. The place has a great ambiance, and we enjoyed it so much that we went back for a second visit. The service, particularly by Mr. Fernando, was outstanding. It's definitely a must-visit spot in London if you enjoy friendly places with excellent service.

Brilliant place for breakfast /brunch. We had heard good things and were not disappointed. Arrived at about 12noon on a Saturday. Wait time was around 35 mins but we took an earlier table outside. The bloody Marys and beer on tap are quality. I had the hamlet b fast, ingredients are very high quality. The veggie b fast was equally high standard. Staff are great too. What a gem this place is

Was a cold day, so was happy when we got a table...you were so busy, but that didn't stop the smiles and greetings from staff. 'fraid we really pigged out ( veggie as well as meateaters) and you were happy for us to stay a while to finish the endless teapot. Thank you!!!

I used to come here with my dad when I was a child and I always try to get back as much as I can, The food has always been solid and top quality, I am funny about sausages in cafes but these are incredible! It’s turned super popular since getting some features on social media but the food remains the same! For me, best cafe on the south side of the river, possibly even London. You won’t be Disappointed, it’s like a trip down memory lane!

Molto inglese (molto), un po' defilato, pieno di oggetti e foto curiose, diviso in locali separati e non comunicanti da circa 20 coperti. tipica english breakfast, molto abbondante, alcune cose sono molto buone, altre molto meno, ma sicuramente merita una visita. frequentato perlopiù da locals, l'attesa è davvero lunga (circa 1 ora per un tavolo da 4), ne vale la pena per l'esperienza in generale. prezzo per persona circa 25£.

Ive been wanting to come here for ages and finally got the chance today and was not disappointed! Short walk from London Bridge brings you to the lovely Terrys, with a big awning covering outside tables and a cosy main cafe inside. Wide selection of cooked breakfasts and other breakfast items all cooked to order. Everything cooked perfectly and served quickly, together with decent portions! The menu for my particular breakfast order just said 'Bacon' so I anticipated a single rasher, ended up with three good sized rashers! Definitely come here with an appetite and it will not disappoint. Waiter could have been a touch less surly but no big deal, won't stop me coming back!

Found this place via online recommendations and it did not disappoint. Super delicious and traditional English Breakfast with very generous portions! Had takeout and they were pretty prompt, didn’t have to wait too long. Coffee that day was from Monmouth so it was pretty good as well!

What a fabulous place! We loved every bit of it. Great food, warm welcoming service, cosy ambience. Would definitely come back! We ordered the big breakfast and it was just superb. Quintessential London!

This cafe is a delightful spot for breakfast, especially on the terrace. The staff is incredibly friendly, creating a warm atmosphere. However, I found the breakfast options a bit too heavy for my taste. Despite that, it's a lovely place with great service.

A neighbourhood cafe, popular with the tourists and locals. They have a unique virtual booking system (no reservations) where to join the queue online then stand outside and wait. I joined the queue at home then the time we got there we only had a 10 minute wait. Those in the queue had been so for over an hour. Not surprising though as it’s a small cafe. The service was friendly and welcoming. They took the order and served quite quickly. The food was top notch. Full English was brilliant and importantly, not full of grease. Will 100% be returning.

My first visit to this legendary café - on balance it was a nice breakfast - my only little complaint was that the bubble was a tad tasteless - lacked a bit of ooomph - At just over £21 inc a £4.5 fresh orange, it kind of rivals top hotels in its price range, so not cheap.

Wir wollten als Touristen unbedingt englisch frühstücken und wurden hier nicht enttäuscht. Hier bekommt wan für sein Geld eine ordentliche Portion „Full english breakfast“ und das schmeckt richtig gut! Die Servicekraft (sah bisschen aus wie The Weeknd) war so super freundlich! Er hatte uns darauf hingewiesen, dass erst in etwa 10 Minuten ein Tisch frei sein wird und uns anschließend hineingebeten. Eine Flasche Wasser bekommt man zum Frühstück dazu. Kaffee war lecker und der Tee (Zitrone Ingwer Honig) sehr zu empfehlen! Wir kommen irgendwann mal garantiert wieder!

Excellent cappuccino and delicious tea. Was the first "full English" we'd had in a while and were delighted with the fryup. The beans were very Heinz like so be warned! The veggie option is very tasty.

Have been meaning to come here for ages as don’t live too far away either. So we celebrated my 50th with a visit. We had a fab breakfast with a glass of fizz. Lovely service and dog friendly too. Need to find out where those tasty sausages are from!

Classic English breakfast here, very large portions! Make sure you use the toilet, it was filled with lots of English paraphernalia which made me laugh so much.

Terry’s Cafe is a must visit place for a great breakfast. The food is delicious, especially the thick-cut bacon and crispy toast. The coffee was a great mix of fruity and acidic. The most important aspect of this place to note is the atmosphere and the interior design. You feel cosy and welcome inside. I could only wish for the tables to have a bit more space between each other, because we had very little space around us.

We can't stop raving about Terry's and are already planning our return! Incredible service, impeccable food, charming decor...have never enjoyed a meal and coffee like we have here. Keep up the amazing work! :)

Very cosy breakfast place! I can totally recommend it. Be early to save a place inside. Otherwise you need to queue up. But even if you need to wait, it's totally worth it.

Just popped in for bit of brekky,food was nice, bacon thick-cut very nice, but a bit expensive considering the tea and toast were extra, plus serviceable on top of that, never heard of that in a cafe. Will give it a miss next time.

Every time i come to london i have to visit this cafe!!! Each visit is always a treat and this was one was no exception. This weekend we had the wonderful Mikayla looking after us. Despite a hangover and a long walk to reach the promised land that is Terrys on a sunday… her service and humour had us all howling with laughter. What a wonderful team and a wonderful vegan sausage.

Small, decent meats, well cooked . The place is slightly more expensive.

Food is ok, just like most cafes. It's very tight inside and at busy periods it's worth prebooking. Why it's on the top list I don't know. I will recommend it but won't be going back.

A really nice place to have brunch. It's a popular spot so get in the queue early on weekends and try and arrive early. Unfortunately we arrived at peak busy time and had to wait about an hour for a table. We were a group of 5 people though so naturally had to wait longer than normal as there is not much space inside and it was just when a large table became free. I had the blow out fry up with scrambled eggs which I didn't think we're very good but someone else in the party had the same dish but with friend eggs and they seemed way better. I'd have the same dish again without the scrambled eggs. Friendly staff who were attentive and helpful added to a lovely atmosphere. Would go again but not at peak brunch time

Quintessential full English. Delicious, tasty and resonably priced. My husband and I shared the big brekkie and we were full! The two large teas were also great. Can’t wait to visit again the next time we are in London. Highly recommend!

Best classic English breakfast you can find in all of England

Staying out of area and requiring a good breakfast before tackling the 4.5 hour journey home, I had the good fortune to be directed to Terry's Cafe. I chose the full English but the variety of choice on the menu was impressive, with such delights as eggs benedict and eggs royal (as well as a selection of continental items). A full range of teas, coffees and other forms of liquid refreshment were available, I settled for a Mocha which was brewed to my liking. I was met with a warm greeting and seated straight away. It was not long before my order was taken, and breakfast arrived shortly after. The staff were very pleasant, and their was an atmosphere within that was to my liking. The background music was agrèable and played at a level that allowed conversation to take place. This is a cafe with traditional English style and a bit more. If I lived closer I would be a regular customer.

Excellent ! Everything is done to ensure that you have a deliciously English time. The atmosphere, the service and the quality of the cuisine will make you forget the moment of waiting (do not hesitate to connect to the virtual queue on their site).

Very good quality fry up if a bit pricey. But it’s London so what do you expect! Would have given it more stars however my order was forgotten so was waiting for almost an hour! Sat outside so didn’t experience the “atmosphere” apart from being shouted at by a random London Lunatic 🤣

I ordered The Works, the complete English Breakfast. It has bubble and squeak, which is authentic. More bacon strips compared to other places. The atmosphere is great! There are classic photos on the wall documenting local life decades ago.

Had a quick coffee on the way to work- ‘Monmouth’ coffee- so l knew it would be delicious- so on the way back to my motorbike l went in for another. The young female staff member was so friendly, warm & showed genuine enthusiasm & interest in me. We had a lovely chat. What a stunning place! I’ll be back.

When we come to London, we go there to have a very delicious Full English Breakfast.

The infamous Terry's cafe that I'd actually never heard of until a few days ago. Luckily for Terry I was hankering for a full English and made it over there before noon. Very characterful interior with an interesting mix of clientele, builders on the job and a table of American tourists. Consistently busy and bustling. I ordered the works as I was feeling both hungry and ambitious. From the moment my breakfast arrived at the table I could tell the ingredients were a cut above the norm. The sausages looked plump and juicy, the egg yolk was glistening in the morning sun and those fine slices of smoked bacon appeared positively holy. Taste wise it didn't disappoint, the fried egg was cooked to perfection, bacon was Smithfield's finest as were the porkers. I've never been a fan of bubble and squeak(sorry) so I won't go into any details. Whilst the black pudding want quite up to the standards of the Wolseley it was still very well seasoned and tasty with a good texture. Staff were attentive and polite so absolutely no complaints there. Whilst you pay a little more than your average greasy spoon you certainly get a lot more. Go with a group of freinds, it's a fun place you won't regret it
