Terry’s Cafe has been on my bucket list for sometime as I love a full English. It didn’t disappoint. It deserves all the accolades. Go and enjoy a fine breakfast.

I have multiple allergies and they catered no problem at all. Food was really good. Coffee was really good. Just a shame we’re not local because I would visit regularly

The best place in the neighborhood to enjoy a British breakfast, it was quite generous and extremely good, be careful to come a little in advance because you have to reserve, it gets a little crowded Logic victim of its success

When you see the local shopping street Terry’s Cafe London is a part of, you might not think much of it. But don’t be deceived, this is a fantastic place for proper English breakfast and more! The food, the smoothies, the coffee, the service, the atmosphere, everything was great. Highly recommended!

Had perhaps the best full English breakfast here that I've ever had. Quality ingredients, well cooked, a large portion and the option of tinned tomatoes rather than grilled ❤️ Couldn't ask for anything more, but there was, great atmosphere, friendly staff, interesting old pictures up on the wall, nice mix of locals and visitors having lively conversations. Will be back if I'm in the area again.

Love coming to Terry's. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Very welcoming and inclusive. Brought 4 friends here for their first time and they were all enthralled. Old school without being a cliche. They still take cash too - which shouldn't be a rarity but sadly in London it is :( Highly recommend and can't wait to return and feel like I'm at home with pals again.

The place was buzzing and the food was very good quality.

I had a great experience at this cafe! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were very friendly. The coffee was excellent, especially the cappuccino. They also had a nice selection of pastries, and the croissant I had was fresh and buttery. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the service was a bit slow during peak hours. Otherwise, it’s a lovely spot to relax or get some work done. I’ll definitely come back again!

I first visited this place decades ago as a student when it was run by Terry, a delightful man and the chef whose passion for food and hospitality left a lasting impression. Returning now, so many years later, I brought my partner with me. I was delighted to find that not only has the quality remained exceptional, but the soul of the place is still very much alive under the hands of his son, Austin. The food brought back a flood of warm memories—authentic, comforting, and crafted with the same care I remembered. It’s rare to find a place that can stand the test of time so gracefully. There’s a beautiful sense of continuity here, where tradition and personal history blend perfectly. Thank you for keeping the magic alive. I’ll be back much sooner this time.

We had an absolutely delicious breakfast at this restaurant. I had the full English breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very busy but the staff was still incredibly friendly.

English Breakfast, which you may have heard of at least once when you think of British food, along with fish and chips, is literally a British breakfast. This is a cafe I visited to eat English breakfast. ​ According to what I found, it is a family-run cafe that has been open for nearly 40 years. The natural, vintage interior is like a scene from an English-speaking movie from the 80s and 90s. I ordered the all-day breakfast menu called the works and a cup of cappuccino, and the price came to around 30,000 won. First of all, the portion was so generous that it was a bit too much for breakfast. Looking at the composition, it includes sausage, fried eggs, bacon, black pudding, baked beans, bubble and squeak (potato dish), roasted tomatoes and mushrooms. Bread must be added separately. I didn't know there was so much to eat so I added bread, but there were only 2 pieces per person and I couldn't eat them all. This is because Bubble and Squeak, which is a chunk of potato, has more than enough carbohydrates. The sausage was a Cumberland sausage used in a British dish called bangers and mash, and when I cut it with a knife, the meat oozed juice and had a greasy taste. It was a bit burdensome in the morning, but it was most impressive. ​ For a light breakfast, a Parisian-style croissant and a cup of coffee seems perfect, and I recommend enjoying English breakfast for brunch. Please note that in the UK they only eat this for breakfast on weekends.

Nice little cafe with good breakfast. Tip: Order extra hollandaise with the avocado toast. Very appealing playlist (Nina Simone and others) The service is ok, comes across as a bit bored or stressed.

Visited here after hearing great reviews. Fantastic service from start to finish and food was top quality. Hash browns are some of the best I've had. I'll definitely visit again when I'm in London.

Lovely cafe, perfect for breakfast or brunch. They were very accommodating to our expanding birthday group, including providing various options to accommodate low fibre and gluten free diets. Food was delicious and staff helpful and friendly.

Great place with great atmosphere and there’s clearly been a great amount of thought to the atmosphere which was right up my alley! I went for ‘The Works’ which was your classic old school full English. I thought the sausage and the black pudding were particularly good and have clearly been sourced from really good suppliers. Really loved the ketchup and brown sauce as well. I normally am quite sacrilegious when it comes to having Heinz and HP with my full English but their sauces (sorry i forgot the name) were really fragrant and the brown sauce in particular went amazing with the black pudding which was cooked really well. Fernando was my waiter mostly and he was really kind and attentive. All in all I love going to places where there’s clearly an idea and a vision and Terry’s Cafe fully incorporates this. I think if there were a few more ‘Terry’s Cafe’ style places out there we’d all be a lot less sad.

Very good breakfast with generous portions. Definitely more than enough to eat. There is a vegetarian English breakfast and an vegan option. Prices are not too expensive. Waiting line can be a bit long, you have to join a virtual queue and will receive a message once your table is ready.

On a cafe odyssey due to external building work. We have visited several so far & this is, so far, the best. Lovely knick knacks, welcoming, nice outdoor seating. Full English went down well & I really enjoyed the pancakes.

This is one of the best breakfast in London, if not the best! The service is warm and nice, smiling staff look after you definite bring very busy, and give good recommendations. The breakfast called The Works is humongous, so big even I struggled to finish it. It is delicious with great quality ingredients, well cooked and very tasty. My friend also ordered a Bloody Mary to start with, and a Mimosa cocktail too. He even had a pint of beer as well. I was on sosrkikbg mineral water, but I had a Kir Royale to end this magnificent breakfast. The fantastic waitress who served us mentions they had a cherry pie, so, despite being full, we ordered it and took it away. We did have it at home afterwards and it was the best cherry pie I had in London! So good I was sorry I had to share it ! It is rare that a place like this, despite being very famous and very popular, remains authentic, and is consistently good, no matter what day or what time you go. Lastly, they have adopted a virtual queuing system, so I recommend joining that before you arrive. If you are lucky, when you are nearby, even before you are there, they will text you to let you know if the table is ready. And that makes a difference ! Thank you guys, you were great ! Ps: no pics were taken because we were so hungry and completely forgot to take any. Sorry !

Always perfect 👌. I travel regularly from the North for this place, absolutely love it. Back again on the 22nd March, can't wait. Highly recommended.

Delicious breakfast, worth visiting

I was recommended this spot and it did not disappoint! I'm French and the ham & cheese croissant was the best I've ever had. Service was simply brilliant - calm and kind. Histroical pictured hanging off the walls, jazz playing in the background. What's not to like? A must try if you're in the area! :)

What a lovely visit to this establishment today. My pal and I, had a lovely breakfast with coffee. The place was packed at 8.30am on a Sunday, but we managed to get a table for 2. We are both from the manor, even though I moved down to Bournemouth 23 years ago, it still feels like home. We couldn’t eat all of the breakfast, as there was so much of it. Lovely service also, and Austin the owner is a diamond. We shall be back soon. Thank you

I stood in line for almost 1.5 hours on a Saturday and other people were constantly given priority to sit down. It's definitely a great cafe but I definitely won't try it again. But the service seemed to be trying...

Just perfect. We were made very welcome by Fernando and Mickeila 🫶, the typical English dishes were delicious and plentiful. Superb experience in a very nice and well decorated place!! Ps: the toilets are super clean and smell super good (this is a pregnant woman who says this)

We queued for roughly 1h (its a small place and it was very busy) but let me tell you: it was worth it! Delicious food, a huge portion and tasteful coffee. We were served by Fernando who was such a delight! I will recommend this place to everyone - in my opinion is a must for anyone visiting London. For a tip: we had both “The works” - I’d recommend dropping the bubble & squeak for toast and getting a side of hash browns. It was delish!!

Este es un pequeño café encantador que a diferencia de la mayoría de los cafés, no se puede simplemente entrar y sentarse. Hay un sistema de colas para los momentos más ocupados, pero me llamaron antes de que pudiera completar la reserva. Estuve afuera no más de 10 minutos. La camarera me sentó frente a la tienda y tomó mi pedido de bebidas. Parecía un poco pez, pero no era un problema. No me hizo ningún daño. El lugar está lleno de recuerdos que personalmente, me encanta mirar. Solo tomé el desayuno sarnie y un café con leche, ambos de los cuales sabían muy bien y definitivamente se nota que los ingredientes son de alta calidad. No me quedé mucho tiempo, pero volveré ya que estamos comenzando un proyecto cerca y me gustaría probar otra comida en el menú.

I love this place - it is full of cockney charm. The food is superb and always tastes freshly prepared. Seating can be a bit tight but Terry and his team give you a warm welcome. Take the time to admire all the memorabilia inside the café, it really is a throwback to another era. Highly recommended place to visit

Unfortunately I think this place has been spoiled by the hype. Probably not worth the long wait time when you can get food of a comparable quality at any other caf in the area. The best thing about it is the decor, but that's only if you're sat in the main cafe. Sadly on a Saturday the staff are overwhelmed and the service is bad. We were sat in the adjacent bar room at a dirty window counter with crumbs and streaks of presumably jam left behind, our two normal breakfasts took over 20 minutes to arrive, we asked for water and it never came, we asked for salt and pepper and it never came, we had to go up to the counter to get the attention of the wait staff to pay. A fine place for a one off visit but won't be returning.

I always go back whenever I can! Terry’s Café is one of my favorite places in London. The atmosphere has a retro charm, the service is always friendly and the food never disappoints. There are many options on the menu, and everything I’ve tried has been delicious. I always make a point of going back whenever I can – whether for a full breakfast or a comforting brunch. Cannot express enough how delicious this meal was! Arrived around 9:30am and were seated right away. It did get busier as time went on so ai would suggest arriving before 10 to get a seat immediately if possible! I ordered the savory pancakes, and they were mouth watering. Their latte was also one of the best latte’s I’ve had in a while. Overall, such a cozy and delicious breakfast spot.

What a find, an absolute amazing place from start to finish, Whilst we were waiting in the queue the owner approached us to ask if was ok and if we wanted anything so I had had a beer and it was a lovely pint. I had the ham and egg chips (which wasn’t on todays menu but the owner was still happy to do) also added beans and was by far the best ham egg and chips I’ve had in years and definitely the best in London and Essex. my partner had a breakfast and the quality of the sausage and bacon was unreal. This place is a must. The staff and owner added to my amazing experience today. Thank you.

Came early Saturday morning, great friendly staff. Good coffee, quality ingredients on the breakfasts with the homely charm of a classic caf. We came for the Billingsgate breakfast (only served on a weekends) apparently I was the first person to have it since it was added as a regular dish and it was great. I was expecting 4 scallops as that is what I saw on instagram but I wont complain with the good experience we had 😉

For us as German tourists, breakfast in Terry's Cafe London was by far the highlight of our first vacation in London. The ambience, the toilet with the hanging flush (!), the many photos of celebrities on the walls and the quality of the food were really great! Next time I'm in London I'll have breakfast there again. PS: when catering establishments have existed for so many years, there is always a good reason for it and this one was founded in 1982. See for yourself, you won't regret it

The best place to experience a traditional English breakfast

I come to this cafe for breakfast every time I'm in London. Just a really authentic lovely and cozy British cafe. The service is always friendly and accommodating. The food is simply fantastic. This is British traditional food like I would imagine a grandma would eat. The sausage and the black pudding are simply incredibly delicious (and as a German I come from the land of sausages and think the sausage at breakfast is tastier than any here in Germany) plus the bubble and squeak and a few mushrooms are just perfect :)

I have been a customer of Terrys for the past 3 years and the quality at Terrys has dropped drastically over the past year. Two of the three Hash-browns were not cooked throughout or crispy. Terrys used to serve Heinz condiments, but now you get a tub of vinegary cheap ketchup. I ordered a Sausage and Onion Sarnie and the Onions were missing. The decor is traditional and unique to other cafes, however the whole place looks very tired. The plates, tables and cutlery are no different to an Ikea cafe. If you are visiting Terrys for its 1900s vibes this is the place, but if you are after good grub then there are better options in the area.

Terry’s is an absolute classic. The best (and biggest) full English I’ve ever had. Just look at it, it’s absolutely mad. I swing by every time I’m in London.

My local cafe - has really gone down hill since covid. The decor is outdated, flooring was coming up, table laminate was ripped and sticky, the queue is abysmal now - expecting customers to share tables after waiting 40 minutes! The food quality has really gone down hill too and expensive for what you get. Ordered a sandwich with two ingredients - one was missing. Also hash brown was thrown in fryer stuck together and then separated when plating which was visibly obvious. The bread kept ripping apart and toppings falling when trying to eat the sandwich. Just cheap quality to be honest. Across the road is another cafe - no queue same food available. Terry’s please pull your socks up - you used to be good but last few times you were bad!

really rude service. queued in the cold for 40 minutes to get to the front and be rudely told we'd done it wrong and we needed to go to the back of the queue for another 30-40 mins. told off like i was at school which was weird, just wanted a fry up

It was my goal to eat a full English breakfast during my time in London and found this place through some googling. It was by far the best one I’ve had. The serving size was huge and each component was incredible. I especially loved the sausage, bacon, and grilled tomato. The tea was delectable too.

This is THE spot if you’re wanting an English breakfast experience. It is such a cute little cafe with the most wonderful and friendly servers. The food was amazing and I wish I could’ve eaten here one more time before leaving London.

Nice place, clean, tidy, nice staff. Food tasty, sausages and bacon good quality. Only criticism is the upselling of additional items...toast, hash browns, etc. Would have been nice to have been advised that what we had ordered was sufficient and unless we were massively hungry the additional items would not be needed. The staff laughed that we didn't finish it all :/

I took a group of 20 there last week, we only had time for a bacon sandwich to take away. Fernando and all the staff were brilliant and absolutely on point, and as for the food, WOW how can you make a simple Bacon sarnie taste that good !!! Well worth the hype and the 5 stars given .I will be returning, definitely. Steve

This is the kind of cafe (pronounced ‘kaff’) that every working class Londoner should feel entitled to - but a quality full English in a homely setting is sadly the exclusive remit of Terry’s and you will find yourself trekking 50 minutes across town on two tubes and a bus to enjoy this long-lost human right. Charming service, mountainous portions of food and specialty coffee. Even the old-school time portal of a loo is an experience. Registering on the electronic queue can be a bit of a buzz kill, but if it’s less than 45 minutes just cop it and ignore the calling of that Jezabel temptress of a cafe across the road. If you wait longer, you might find yourself asking the brain-melting existential question of why you waited more than an hour for eggs on toast. But this is arguably the best full English in London, and I should know - I’m an Aussie

Cozy cafe serving classic British fare. We ordered big English Breakfast and it was amazing!

The breakfast spot came highly recommended, but unfortunately, they didn’t have any non-pork options, so I opted for a veggie breakfast. The beans and eggs were tasty, and the scrambled eggs and hash browns on the side were quite good. Overall, it was a decent experience, though I wish they had more inclusive options.

Great spot for breakfast with quick service and delicious coffee. Well set up for being busy but 9am on a Saturday morning was no problem getting a choice of tables for two.

Great, traditional cafe. Nicely cooked food. Clean surroundings. Very reasonably priced. Friendly , chatty staff. This is the place of clean plates. Breakfast was delicious. Choice of tinned or fresh tomatoes. Lovely uncut bread, tasty, big portions. Plenty of choice on the menu. Nicely presented. Proper cup of builders tea too. The banter and atmosphere are first class. Great decor. This is a real gem of a find. Austin and his staff are attentive, friendly and, all go the extra mile. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Terry’s Cafe. Customers leave happy.It is a truly international cafe with that lovely touch of cockney banter.

Went there on a Sunday, place was packed so we decided to register via app ( great idea!) and to wait. We were seated outside in less then 15 minutes and the food came less then 20min after. Coffee was superb, friendly staff, fully recommend! Keep the good work going!!

I live nearby in Waterloo - an area full of touristy and chain establishments - so wanted to give this place a try. I'm so glad I did - will be coming back again and again. Good food, great warm service and lovely cosy atmosphere.

Great experience! We obviously ate the classic British breakfast and it was delicious. On top of that, the person is great! I recommend.

The food was absolutely amazing, We had the vegan breakfast and the traditional British breakfast. Some of the food did arrive cold however. We paid extra for more baked beans and they arrived cold and late. I also had the English tea and asked for milk and I was told it was on the way, and we also ordered scrambled eggs. The lady taking our order did not write any of our order down and we then received a sunny side egg, we told the lady we still didn't have cutlery, our milk had not arrived and our order if the traditional breakfast was wrong and had to wait for it to come. We also didn't receive the extra baked beans until we asked for it again and then they had the audacity to slap a 10% service charge on. The staff didn't seem like they wanted to be there.

I got timings wrong & technically they closed. Austin said don’t worry I will sort you out, what a legend. Food was very good (everything is really fresh & homemade), service was great & atmosphere amazing. Well worth a visit.
