The visit to the ship was a discovery. We went for my nephew without much desire and in the end it was wonderful. The ticket includes an audio guide and with videos (like a smartphone) you can tour the entire ship listening to the History and what was in each room or area of the ship listening to like the kitchen. The cabins. The area where the Morse code was broadcast, the artillery area and the kitchen. Where they kept the potatoes etc. It's very pretty. Lots of history. You can travel by boat in an hour and a half. But go to the restaurant which is very cozy and you can have hot chocolate (we went in winter and it was very cold). Our visit to London was very good in part because of getting to know this museum ship. I highly recommend it. I bought the entrance tickets two days before online. The shop is nice and not expensive to take you to a paper boat for £1 or a mug for £10. There are t-shirts. Keychains and even a set of Morse code. Finally, from the boat you have wonderful views of the Tower Bride and the city of London

We turned up on a Saturday in January. No wait at all. We bought guide book and took the audio tour. The ship is fascinating, built before ww2 but overhauled after it. The things that strike you is how compressed the living and working spaces are. Entering the boiler and engine room when they were working must have been the stuff of nightmares. The armorer box (all or nothing) is most clearly seen and understood here. The guns are not massive, 6 inch, but the turrets and barbettes allow understanding of how it worked. As you go through the ship, it’s hard to imagine being here in freezing artic seas, pitching around and under attack. The captain’s and admiral’s cabins had tiny little electric fires. Others probably relied on water heat from engine. It is a shame the uk never preserved a genuine dreadnought battleship, this is as good as it gets and well worth it.

Excellent if you like ships, history, engineering or anything military. Wear sensible shoes to climb up and down ladders and give yourself at least two and a half hours, longer if you want to use the cafe. Many information places, signs, videos etc. and helpful knowledgeable volunteers and staff.I think it should be priced a bit lower but this is London. Easiest directions get to London bridge train station and it's a 5 minute walk. Finally the views of London from the ship are amazing.

Súper interesting, I recommend going in with time 2-3 hours before closing (at least that's what I took to see everything). If you are interested in history, navy, engineering or merchant navy, then this is an superb place to go. The ship itself is very well maintained and explains details of how was the life of its crew when on service, all workers are also super helpful and polite. You also have good views of the city from the flying bridge and general boat, specially if it gets close to sunset. You can't end up imagining the life of each crewmen on board the ship, being the cat the only one enjoying it. Totally recommend it.

We had thought it was a tad expensive to visit HMS Belfast, but picked up on the TFL 2 for 1 offer, so we decided to give it a visit - after many times walking past! We got some audio guides, which I inevitably knew I would be carrying for the kids by the end...! We did sort of follow the guide, and the kids did give me a few nuggets of information as we walked about. We made sure we got a picture at the back of the boat with the bridge in the background before we forgot! I personally found it all very interesting, for the kids it was a bit more mixed. One of them git a bit scared when we went further down in to the ship and my son was looking forward to the world of warships area but most of the machines were either not working or broken. My daughter on the other hand really enjoyed it - thought it was fun going up and down the ladders and walking through the kitchen etc! The boat does take a lot longer to get round than you expect, and actually was quite easy to get lost in (it happened to us more than once!) If the kids had the patience we may have gone for one of the talks they advertised over the tannoy, if we had - we may have been there even longer!

Was great fun doing the tour of HMS Belfast. You get an immediate appreciation of the history and scale of the ship the moment you enter. It feels like the entire ship is run like a scaled down village with everyone playing their part. This is an incredible museum and best of all was going to the boiler room and the engine room, up and down the ladders, felt like explorers and was amazing to be immersed in the experience. Audio guides are great and there is so much going on. Although, tickets are not cheap however it was very much worth it. The issue with our visit is that we had an early afternoon booking, we were really enjoying the first hour or so and then the fire alarm went off (no worries at all -these things happen!!). We went to the main deck where we were told to wait. We were there for about 40 minutes, it was raining and cold but we were undercover. By the time we were allowed back inside the ship after the false alarm, we were told that the museum would be closing as normal at 5:00 which was in 20 minutes! We then had to run around at lightening speed to see everything we wanted to and missed so many interesting things before being hurried off. We paid full price, not cheap tickets, and we were having a great time. It would have been nice for the staff to consider staying open until maybe 6:00 so we could experiance what we had paid for. We were not offered additional tickets on another day, no refunds, compensation, nothing. These things happened, but we paid and it’s not our fault the alarm went off. Would have expected better service. A disappointing end to an amazing museum trip. Hopefully staff consider visitors and the money they pay next time there is an issue.

This was a warship with an interesting history, a living history of the navy crew who sailed her. Had a talk from a volunteer on how to fight fires aboard ship. He was excellent & very knowledgeable. Also visited cafe, limited food available but enough for lunch & afternoon tea! We spent 4-5 hours on board. It was a wonderful experience! Would recommend to any able bodied tourist. While it wasnt a serious wound and it was definitely my fault (I was so distracted by the fact that i was so happy to be on the ship!) i still bled alot from the top my head. Good thing a fellow visitor had a wad of napkins nearby to help me control the bleeding. It took a little while for me to find someome from the staff to provide help. That being said. Thank you to Ahled (i really hope im spelling his name correctly) for doing the best he could to provide first aid and to make sure i was ok (he even offered something from the cafe!) . Although I climbed up to Big Ben and visited Buckingham Palace, I dare to say the best experience in London. Top tips: - Try to visit inside the Tower Bridge afterwards, it is nice to see both of them from above. (You need a ticket too). - Moving around the ship is not easy, you need both hands to climb steep and narrow stairs, and sometimes even a pack back could cause you some difficulty in movement. So be prepared. - If you can, book your visit during a good weather – it’s a miracle in London, I know! But you’ll spend a good time onboard the ship.

I really loved how the mess rooms have been set up so you can understand how they would have had to live in all different conditions. There has been so much attention to detail put into this museum, even down to personal notes from the patients who would have lied in the sick bay, so you get a real essence of what it would have been like in ever situation onboard. Thank you to the imperial war museum for preserving this special ship. Very humbling.

It's worth the price, it's great to get on a ship that was on D-Day.

Unforgettable experience into the life of one old battleship. You can go through many rooms and see the life of the soldiers. Great stories throughout the history.

I encourage everyone interested in war on the seas and oceans to visit it. I recommend using the services of London Tourist. Polish guide to London.

This is probably one of the must sees in London for people who like modern history. I was first surprised at how big this ship was. I almost got lost. You can see everything from the engine room to the bridge. It was a really fun experience.

Lovely cafe/bar area. Theatre extremely small, felt very claustrophobic, disliked the show we booked

I would say its main highlight is a few street food options. Other than that, it offers products like fruits, vegetables, and cheese. If you’re tired, I wouldn’t recommend going, as the crowd makes it hard to even eat while standing, let alone find a place to sit. Recommend: 😊 If you really love street food and are determined to try it, I’d suggest going to Camden Town instead. It’s a much more enjoyable place!

I live nearby in Waterloo - an area full of touristy and chain establishments - so wanted to give this place a try. I'm so glad I did - will be coming back again and again. Good food, great warm service and lovely cosy atmosphere.
