I lunched here with a small group on a cold Sunday when they were having trouble keeping the room warm unfortunately. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The menu looked quite interesting and good value at £19.95 for two courses but I found the food as served was average. The meat was generally the best part and the vegetables a bit of a throwaway. Six green beans is hardly a portion. The meals were not served hot enough.Overall it was OK and probably good value for the area but not special.

I have been to this restaurant several times and have usually thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience. However, on this evening I found that I was a little cold. (Lisa kindly put a heater near me0. The food is excellent, although I only had one fillet of fish and found half a fish a rather small portion. My fellow dinners had lamb, and althought here was a supplement for this, they thought it lovely. My dessert was a little disappointing as the poached pear was served cold and I like it hot with the ice-cream alongside. /The ice-cream was delicious though. The orange juice was not freshly squeezed, and am unsure whether one has to specify that is what one requires. I just ordered an orange juice. The ambience is good and the paintings/pictures on the walls (for sale) were delightful and not too pricey. Overall I recommend Lisa's for a fine meal - check opening times and booking recommended.

We recently went to Lisa's. I wondered what might be the result as most of the other restaurants in Pitshanger Lane leave much to be desired. We were very pleasantly surprised. Lisa and the staff were very friendly and attentive to our requests. The food was very good indeed, very tasty and very good portions. I started with the liver and moved on to the confit de canard and finished with a handsome selection of cheeses. We also had a good bottle of wine which surprised me greatly as it was priced at less than £20- so unusual in independent restaurants in London these days. So a very good evening of eating and drinking for two for just over £65. Excellent value.

Lisa's was a joy to discover! It is truly a hidden gem of London. Quite a small dining area, but it was almost full, so I thought I'd give it a try. I was not disappointed! Lisa herself greeted me at the door, and sat me right down. I was rather hungry, so I ordered a three-course meal, which at around 20 pounds I thought was reasonably priced. My first course was a warming, homemade tomato and basil soup. The taste was excellent, so I was excited to try my main course: the chicken breast with plum sauce, carrots, green beans, and mashed potatoes. But little did I realize how good it would be! It was phenomenal. The chicken was the most perfectly cooked I had ever eaten in arguably my entire life. It was incredibly moist, and the skin, which I do not usually eat, was crisped to perfection. The flavors were spot-on, with the plum sauce (and plum pieces) adding a sweet yet not overpowering accent to the experience. The fresh carrots and green beans were also cooked perfectly. Each bite, even each micro-bite, was flawless. I had the apple pie and ice cream for dessert, and it was also splendid. I will remember the chicken meal for some time to come, as I usually do not experience perfection in a meal quite like that.Lisa was also a great hostess. Upon arriving I was rather cold, so she offered me some tea to help warm me, as well as to add a little warm water to my glass of water. The peppermint tea was superb and refreshing, served with a chocolate-covered almond. Throughout the meal, Lisa was attentive to not just my needs, but also my well-being, asking if I was feeling better. She also kept me entertained, offering me humorous anecdotes throughout. Another good sign that the restaurant was doing well was that there was apparently regular after regular eating there, as she seemed to know every table on a first-name basis. Needless to say, everything was so great I had to congratulate her for having such a delightfully splendid restaurant. I wish I were able to live in London, as I know I would come back again and again to Lisa's Restaurant. If the chicken was that good, I can only imagine how amazing the other courses might be! Bravo. Overall, I can only give Lisa's my highest recommendation. If you are in the area, or even if not, it's definitely worth the journey!

Lisa's has been a good Ealing family restaurant for 25 years (happy birthday). I've had excellent meals here and good ones. Last night was very niceI had creamy muscles followed by steak and a poached pear for dessert. Everything was very good, there could have been a little more flavour in the muscles but overall a lovely meal. I had food envy over my friend's baked avocado starter. The menu is very large. Including the specials there were around 9 choices for each course. I'd have been happy with half the amount.I don't live in Ealing anymore, otherwise we would come here regularly

We often go to Lisa's. A friendly restaurant which will do their best to cater for dietary needs and can adapt their menu or suggest alternatives. Lisa, who runs front of house is knowlegable about the menu which varies according to the season. We have been going to Lisa's since our child was very young and was only wanting chicken nuggets to eat when going out. Lisa was so understanding of the eating habits of a very young child and explained that they didnt do nuggets and suggested an alternative, which was done every time we visited until "shock/horror" they wanted something different on the menu! (finally growing up!!!) The food is cooked to perfection. Yes, there are regulars on the menu plus daily specials. The service from the staff makes you come away feeling that you were the only group there, being greeted with a smile and a pleasant thank you as you leave, which seems genuine and from the heart, however, being a local restaurant invariably there is always a neighbour or two also eating there. Of all the places I eat, Lisa's is the best. Prices are very reasonable too!

Lisa's is a long way from Central London. There is no way they are going to be relying on passing trade and the upside of that is they have to be consistently good because the same people will be coming back.Envy then, the people of Ealing to have this little gem on their doorstep. The decor and presentation are average but the food is so tasty and there's a lovely atmosphere. And the icing on the cake is it doesn't charge Central London prices. This is a warm, friendly, family-run restaurant set in Pitshanger Lane, which is itself a remarkable 'village' High Street in London filled with independent traders rather than predictable chains.I've been coming here for well over fifteen years. The food is consistently high quality and amazingly affordable. The menus change regularly and the daily specials broaden that choice. The service is excellent and the ambiance is comfortable. The selection of wines and beers is good. This is a place to come, relax, and be made a fuss over (in a good way). And something I really appreciate, hot food served on hot plates!

Was taken there for sunday lunch by a friend and immediately liked the place. It is totally relaxed and unpretentious, nice fané atmosphere . The owner is very professional , not overbearing when taking the orders and the service is truly excellent, the waiter knows how to serve and which side to take away the dirty plate from, and this is something which can only be said of really expensive restaurants where the maitre watches everything over. The menu is surprisingly varied and the price is exceptionally low. Asparagus with parmesan flakes with 3 fried quail eggs and rocket alad, then the best pheasant I had for a long time, rare as ordered and finally pear poached in red wine with almonds and ice cream. The cook knows how to cook, the ingredients are fresh, the presentation is very good, the portions are abundant, frankly I don't understand how one could want better for the price.Shall definitely return even if out of my area.

We've just booked a table at Lisa's for this evening and thought I would idly check out the reviews here. our decision was already made based on our good experiences down through the decades (yes, it really has been that long!) so I felt I should weigh in to defend Lisa's honour in the light of some of the other reviews.I've never felt moved enough to leave a review on TripAdvisor before but I felt duty bound to do so today in order to act as a counterweight against the few negative reviews that really seem to have missed the point.Yes, the menu is consistent - that's a strength. But that doesn't mean it is boring. Calves liver is one of my very favourite dishes for example and done right (which it always is at Lisa's) it is an absolute delight.Yes, the waiting staff (Lisa!) are more 'mature' - we all are, and it is not a crime! (You'll be 'old' too one day :-) ) and this is not surprising considering how long this restaurant has been in business and under the same management. And she has always sounded like that - it is not put on. This evening we will be celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary and we have been going to Lisa's since before we were married. Longevity like that in a restaurant is a rare thing indeed and speaks volumes on its own. We don't visit every single year but we are never disappointed when we do - whether with friends and family or just on our own.The restaurant is always busy because it has successfully carried its clientele along with it down through the years (decades now - a rare feat in itself!) and so we have all grown more 'mature' together. 60 is the new 40 after all! In recent weeks we've tried quite a few of the newer restaurants in Ealing and have come away mostly disappointed for one reason or another.Since this is a bit of an occasion for us we have chosen to go with the assured consistency and quiet atmosphere of Lisa's this evening.Just a quick note on the decoration - minus one star because that ceiling looked past its prime 30 years ago!

Went here last night with my wife. As is normal now, we'd glanced through the reviews first. One of the very negative reviews has found its way to the top of the list, but we decided on the basis of reading some of the others to give it a try. We were both glad we did. Just like to give our perspective on some of the negative comments in reviews, obviously everyone is entitled to their own view.Firstly let's tackle the service, there was absolutely nothing wrong with it ! Lisa has been described as posh etc in some of the reviews. Well yes, she's well spoken and incredibly polite. If that's a problem maybe this isn't the place for you ! She certainly has over the years mastered the art of balancing of leaving you on your own to enjoy your food and chat , without leaving you so long that you're looking at your watch wondering when they'll bring the next course etc.Age range/Atmosphere - it was fair to say that the age range is on the higher side, although there was a good mix , we're in our 40-50s, there was a younger couple as well and quite a few older. Interestingly it seemed a lot of these were regulars and got the star treatment. I think it speaks to the quality of the restaurant that they have obviously been coming back for a long time. It has a quiet atmosphere as well, so no music blaring out, just people chatting and enjoying they're food, something that you want sometimes. It wouldn't be my choice every night of the week, but sometimes it's what you want.Food/Value for money - I think it is described a hotel food in one review and elsewhere good and solid. I'd say both are true, but not in a negative way. I don't know about you, but have had some pretty good meals in hotels. The food is fairly timeless and probably wouldn't be out of place on a menu for 10 years ago etc, but that's because somethings stand the test of time. I had melon with proscuitto and mozzarella/rocket salad and my wife crab and linguini as a starter, both were delicious. Followed this up with Cod wrapped in Parma ham on Mash - huge portion of fish and Belly Pork with all the trimmings (beautifully soft) again both lovely. We didn't have room for dessert, so I opted for a plate of cheese. All this washed down with a bottle of Red and some coffees. The cost just over £60 plus service, which I'd say is pretty good value. So all in all I'd recommend Lisa's - but I guess it depends what you are looking for. If you want a younger clientele, more "modern" food then maybe it's not for you. But for a quieter night out with tasty classics at a good price, think you'll enjoy

There are two main things I loved about this restaurant. One is the host - I always prefer a restaurant that is welcoming and 'hostly'.The second is the food. Having eaten out the weekend before in France, the menu here at Lisa's was very similar and just as tasty. The only thing I didn't like was the décor, which was dated and let it down. Can't believe how awful the food is here. It is definitely stuck in a time warp where the vegetables have been extremely overcooked, the chicken is as dry as a bone, the presentation is awful and tastes even worse. I went in starving and came out ravenous...I can honestly say that whoever thinks the quality of food served here is good, has never eaten a good meal. I cannot think how it has stayed open all these years as it was one of the worst meals I have ever eaten...it was like a very bad school dinner! I would not recommend this to anyone who has a taste for good food!

This was my second visit to Lisa's and the first visit with friends prompted me to take my family this time. We were all delighted with the homely atmosphere, the attentive staff and especially the delicious and plentiful food. Although the chicken and mango salad was a small portion, the fried calamares with chilli and couscous and the spaghetti with crab were more than enough for starters. Owing to a full restaurant, there was a fairly long wait between starter and mains but Lisa kindly made this less painful with a complimentary bottle of Malbec. When the dishes arrived, the pork belly was juicy and full of crackling, the calves liver succulent and tender and the duck confit crispy and so easy to eat. Desserts were excellent and the kitchen skilfully adapted one with pancakes to suit my nephew's taste. All in all, with its moderate prices and tempting dishes, Lisa's offered a wonderful Sunday luncheon experience and one which I hope to repeat soon.

The real problem at Lisa's is what to order. Do I want mussels in a glorious sauce with soup spoon so that not a drop is left? Or do I want a crab starter? If we're all going to order something different, who is the lucky one that gets to eat the lamb? And don't start me on the desserts. This is a great place to eat. We use it for regular 'let's eat out tonight' moments and for special occasions. We take our friends - all ages and all tastes. We go as a family for birthdays and anniversaries - 4 generations ranging from 82 to 10. The price is reasonable and the quality and attention to detail is brilliant. We don't live in Ealing but, if you live in that part of London, aren't you just so lucky!PS. 10 year old grandson recommends pancakes, chocolate sauce and chocolate ice cream. It has been a few years since my last visit to Lisa's, I don't live in the area. We visited as a group of six, the restaurant was full which is usually a good sign. Service at table was quick, polite, friendly and efficient, we all chose from the three course menu at £22.95. I chose a spaghetti and crab starter, which was delicious, calves liver as a main course , perfectly cooked, and pancakes for dessert. The food was served hot (mind the hot plates!), was a good serving size, and looked and tasted good. We shared a couple of bottles of Australian Shiraz, which we all enjoyed. My co-diners also found their meals met their expectations, and we all agreed that a return visit to Lisa's would be most appropriate. Their are quite a few eating establishments competing in Pittshanger Lane, the restaurant must be doing something right to have survived so long. At the end of the meal we were presented with our bill, the service charge of 10% added ( a good idea) and the owner (Lisa?) had thoughtfully divided it by three so which made splitting the bill easy for us.

I have dined at this restaurant twice but there will not ba a third visit. The menus I believe is limited, there is not enough variety. Although the food is nice, it is just not nice enough for the prices charged. My mash potato and cod and 3 thin slices of carrot was what i would expect if I stayed at home, I wanted to be served food that was better than my own.In addition, if there are 6 or more of you in the group then you are charge 10% service charge. WHY? They should give you 10% off for large groups, NOT penalise you!I also sense a fake service, lots of smile and kind words, but I wonder how much is sincere. A good business tactic, but, fails to work on me. I do not need the staff to talk frequently to me.This restaurant is overpriced and overrated.

The set meal however offered several choices for each course to chose from, including home made soup, marinated quail served on crushed wheat salad for Starters. The main course choices included confit of duck, pan fried calves liver, best end of lamb grilled fillet of salmon, all beautifully cooked and presented. The desserts' choices included pears poached in red wine, rich chocolate terrine and pancakes filled with vanilla ice cream. Lisa's is a well established traditional restaurant in one of Ealing's 'village' type shopping areas. Run by husband and wife team Milan and Lisa, is arguably the best restaurant in Ealing. The atmosphere is pleasant, service is cordial and prompt, prices are very reasonable and the menus traditionally robust, supplemented by an interesting list of daily specials. This is not a place for the burger and chips brigade but offers a home from home quality and service which is justified by the many regular, although like myself more mature customers, who value quality and friendly service. Never been disappointed.

On the top the mature waitress toyed to sound posh and was very intrusive. We came to the conclusion that this was the worst restaurant on the lane. Few days ago explained the experience to my neighbour and he's said that it is for elderly people and the food is not good. I should have asked before I would have saved £80. Really do not bother. The restaurant is a tardis, an unimposing frontage opens up into a lovely cosy home from home on the inside. Lisa (the one that gave the restaurant the name) is the most welcoming host you will find anywhere. She has a remarkable skill in making you feel you every need is being taken care of but without being in any way intrusive and all the waiting team we have experienced operate in the same manner. They simply cannot do enough for you yet are not pushy in any way. The menu is lovely, and I would say some great 'out of the ordinary' options mixed with some excellently prepared classics with a twist.. They will also tailor the menu if asked and will cater for allergies ( we have 2 different and severe allergies in the family and eat in absolute confidence). They have even (with a little notice) prepared whole meals that we have requested for particular family members and I can't imagine where else this could be done. Starters, mains and deserts really well thought out with specials available. Even the bread is lovely. We have always been really pleased with the quality and portion size, and have taken family and friends who also love the place. Great for a cosy romantic meal, a meal with friends, a special celebration or just when you feel you deserve a bit of pampering.Pricing is simple, with a 2 and 3 course fixed price meal very competitive. if asked they will recommend wine (we have always been pleased) at very reasonable prices. I would recommend to anyone for value, quality and of course, the service. I would say on par with a gastro pub for price but Lisa's is way ahead on quality.

What can I say. This superb compact restraunt has great food and is one of the friendliest places I have been to in ages so much so that we have been back several times.Lisa herself is front of house and can't do enough to make everyone feel welcome, service is also first class which in some cases these days is sadly lacking. This is definitely a place that is worth giving a try and it won't cost an arm and a leg to have a nice evening so if you are close go you won't be dissatisfied.

I visited this place last night after quite a long time, as we used to come here twice a week to eat and have a drink. We started with two shots of Courvoisier cognac to warm up, along with two glasses of house red wine. However, we were shocked by the bill, which came to £32.50 just for the drinks. At that point, we decided not to order food. This place offers basic, homemade-style food—it’s not really a full-service restaurant. For these prices, you’d expect a higher quality experience, with a nicer atmosphere and more refined service. Instead, the setting still feels dated, with a bit of a post-communist vibe. The value just wasn’t there for us this time.
