My go to is the Paneer Karahi and garlic naan. Absolutely fantastic and authentic food. The staff is super friendly and tailor the food to your preferred spice levels. 10/10 food and services’

Lamb biriani, chicken tikka butter puri, chicken Saag chana, garlic Naan & pilau rice - best Indian takeaway and great portions for price. The butter puri was amazing and the chicken in all dishes, so tender, shall be back for moreee!

Very poor delivery service. This is the second time we have ordered and it was later last time. We thought we would give them another chance. 1hr 45 again on a Tuesday night. This is just rediculas. We won't be ordering again.

Waited over an hour over the stated time only to get a call saying they hadn't seen our online order... which i had 3 confirmation emails for... then waited another hour for food. I dont understand that, shame really as the food was nice. Also didn't get any of the discount or extras as stated online. Overall nice food but service not good.

We ordered the set meal for 2 and I can honestly say the food was delicious, nice and hot and very flavoursome. The portion sizes were good and the service was friendly. We will definitely be going back.

Tried multiple times but the Jalfrezi and Biryani are not great

First time ordering based on the high reviews which do not reflect our experience at all. Ordering was easy and simple with a very helpful and friendly lady on the phone. Mix tandoori starter tasted very good. However all three didn’t come with the salad and dips as ordered! We ordered the Tikka, Madras, Dansak and Makhani. There’s were bland with no authentic taste. The portions of the Makhani and Dansak were half portions at best with little meat. The Dansak sauce just tasted of gravy with no lentils. Chips were cold and dry. We were encouraged to pay cash for a free extra dish which wasn’t delivered. Im not sure how the reviews can be so great when our experience was very disappointing.

Could not recommend this place enough. I’ve been making my way through the highly rated Indian restaurants since moving to Plymouth and this is by far the best one. Far more interesting veggie options than anywhere else- the paneer khari was outstanding and the dhal was super tasty. Best onion bahjis I've had in ages and the coconut rice was great. My partner said that his chicken jalfrezi was the best he’s ever had. Reasonably priced too and the delivery driver was really friendly. Won’t be eating curry from anywhere else from now on. Thank you!

We had 4 different dishes between five of us and all thoroughly enjoyed them. My bhuna was different to what Im used to but I wish they all tasted like this. 100% will use again when I'm in the area.

Good sized portion and usually good service but massively let down by it tonight and to top it off we were missing items on our order.

Was recommended this little gem hidden round the corner from where we live. Amazing fresh ingredients and probably one of the best Indian meals I’ve ever had! All cooked from scratch and owners so friendly, gave us free dishes and discount as new customer definitely will be returning!

This is my favorite Indian restaurant I've ever had in Plymouth. The owner is so kind and the food is so delicious! You can get a 12% discount if you take it out, so the quality is so good for the price! I'll go buy it again over the weekend. Curries are delicious here! Always had great service. Love that you get a choice of rice or naan with some of the dishes. The medium curries are hotter than I expected but they are so tasty!!! Easily one of the best takeaways in Plymouth!

I am originally born and bred in Birmingham so eating Indian food was a big part of my life, having lived in Plymouth for over 15 years and failed to find a delicious Indian, it was an amazing relief to find one close to home. This is the most delicious Indian food I have ever had in Plymouth and over the last 3 months have eaten from there on a weekly basis. The ingredients are so fresh, amazing herbs and spices. Quality beyond compare, and always the most flavoursome hot delicious food. Service is great and I have never had a problem with delivery. This in my opinion is the best Indian in Plymouth. Please do not read reviews about poor delivery. It’s the food you are reviewing and I can promise you it’s something I cannot find fault with. Many friends from work now use this takeaway even from places like plymstock and st bureaux from my recommendation. 5*

Food was lovely but it was cold when I got it hour and half late not impressed

The best curry takeaway in the south west. Having moved down here from up north, until now, I've been struggling to find a decent curry. This is the best tasting Indian food I've had, and I've travelled around India! The staff are super awesome and happy. I can't recommend this place enough.

What a great recommend! My go to curry takeaway now. The mixed Tandori special mixed Balti was simply excellent, Chicken Shashlick and Gosht Rogan Josh brilliant also. This meal was really perfect for evening A*

Love the food here. Good range of dishes, decent sized portions and reasonably priced. Chicken Patia is my current favourite.

The chef is enthusiastic about his food and cooking. The food is great tasting and good serving size. I had chicken biryani and spicy tika masala. They both tasted great and biryani is particularly recommendable.

I had my family staying so decided to try The Lisbon Tandoori for a takeaway I chose them because they had good reviews and I wasn’t disappointed. The food was tasty, generous portions and hot. So often a takeaway turns up either lukewarm, cold or something missing. This was none of the above. I will most certainly be going back soon

First time ordering tonight! Food was excellent and Hot 🥵 in both ways which is brilliant as it reminded me of my old spot little masalas in town which isn’t open anymore and I haven’t had Indian since but heard great things from this spot. And I wasn’t disappointed at all everything was fresh and the gentleman (Owner) on the phone was super polite and helpful with me ordering on the phone 😀 If you are looking at reviews about his place as new customer you won’t be disappointed it’s one of the best Indian spots out there. Will be back and I look forward to it! Edit!! Shame they have no Excluded set menu from the discount now It’s full price on the website so won’t be having it as often now due to its high price. Big shame really

My new Indian go too, I have Indian at least once a week and have been here 4 times now and I love it. The only negative is their timing delivery is a joke, especially Friday and Saturday, unsure of deliveroo or just eat I don't like to promote too much because it will just get more busy., but the food is outstanding. just order and pick up yourself

Ordered for the first time tonight, used the online ordering system, very easy to use. Arrived close to collection time stated when ordered and the order was not ready, the owner was so apologetic and explained he was still cooking it and it would be with me soon, he gave me a drink to apologise, I do not mind waiting when food is being cooked so fresh, we traveled from Ivybridge having seen the reviews and WOW, we will definitely be returning, the food was piping hot and absolutely delicious, the flavours were incredible, the special dishes include either rice or naan, the naan is fluffy and so tasty, the kebab is to die for! We will definitely be making the journey from Ivybridge again and would recommend Lipson Tandoori to anyone!

Fantastic service! First impression excellent. Ordered a delivery online last Friday and told it would be one hour. Turned out to be thirty minutes. Ordered half tandoori chicken for my wife and garlic chilli chicken balti with pilau Rice myself. It was really good. Would definitely recommended!!!

I would have added a picture but the food was so, so good. I'm a brummie so my standards are high and I'm more than happy to say that Lipson Tandoori met and exceeded them. We had murugh mahkani (possibly the best I've ever had) and the Indian mixed special which was flavourful and spicy without just being a jet propelled blast of chilli. Coupled with a light and fluffy fresh naan and spot on pilau rice, will definitely be returning.

A genuinely delicious curry house. The green chilli chicken is one of my favourites so far, and the menu is really interesting and varied. I have ordered 4/5 times and have had something different each time, and it has all been delicious!!

Whoever was doing your leaflet drop tonight 28/8/23 @7pm in Lisson Grove could you please ask them to come back and pick up the leaflets they’ve strewn across gardens and patios. If they are struggling to walk from the pavement to the front door then they probably shouldn’t be doing leaflet drops. It is also NOT A GOOD ADVERT for your business. General litter is already bad enough please don’t add to it.

Ordered from this Indian while in Plymouth on business and although it was further afield than their usual delivery radius, they got the delicious food to me in record time. Next time I’m here I will will be preferring again.

Delicious meal, but later than estimated, but service was pleasant. When I got home I realised the yoghurt & mint sauce, tamarind sauce and salad we'd ordered hadn't been put in with our order. Slightly disappointed, but food we did have was delicious.

Lipson Tandoori is our new family favourite Indian takeaway after trying it for the first time yesterday. We’ve chased the highest reviews and recommendations and haven’t had better in all of Plymouth. The online ordering was easy with very competitive prices. Shah was a delight to chat to during the pick-up. Our menu choice was: Plain Papadoms Mango Chutneys Mixed Pickles Tandoori Mix Nowabi Bhuna (Fairly hot) Chicken Tikka Masala Tandoori Butter Chicken Pilau Rice Plain Naan Sag Paneer We’ll definitely be visiting again.

As a good as a takeaway gets sheek kebab stunning, madras perfect, quality of chicken tikka was moist and the tamarind sauce was punchy . Don’t use just eat phone the takeaway the owner is very helpful and informative

Tried Lipson Tandoori for the first time this evening. Can honestly say, THE best Indian takeaway I have ever eaten and we have tried many over the years. Absolutely delicious! Every aspect was fantastic. Our new go to takeaway - Highly recommended.

Absolute joke. I ordered food online, it said it was going to be 60 minutes, after waiting for 90 minutes I called and was told it was still not out for delivery, he promised it was going out in the next 15 mins. I never received it until another hour, nearly an hour and half late. I told them they should not take orders if they can not fulfil them. When the food turned up, The House Curry had no meat or prawns in it. it was just a few bits of vegetables. I WOULD STAY CLEAR GUYS, TERRIBLE SERVICE. RUDE SAFF TOO

BEWARE at least 90% of the staff take cocaine whilst preparing your food here. Please don’t take a chance on your loved ones. It is also cooked at their non sanitary house and they have mice! The basic stock is not cooked on site and if you saw their home kitchen you would not eat here. Environmental Health are aware! I have nothing to gain from this just know these are horrid people. Ironically their clientele are mostly white. As their white neighbour they scream insults at me if I sit in my garden in a vest top and call me the “dirty white woman “ to their children. Please don’t eat here.

Food is fantastic, and having been to the restaurant I can confirm it is not unclean and has a food hygiene rating. The person that has commented clearly has a personal issue with the restaurant owner.

The BEST curry I've ever had! They told me as I left the shop that it was made fresh and hope I enjoy it. Came home and saw just how smooth, creamy and silky my curry was. Took a bite with the naan included and it was stunning. The taste was better than I imagined and much better than a lot of places you'll find. 10/10, would recommend every time!

I needed a nut free curry and I tried here as reviews were good. The man I spoke to (I assume owner) couldn’t have been more helpful. Was not a problem at all and even gave suggestions on many dishes they could make. Delivered within an hour and is the best curry I have had in Plymouth (and I love to try new places). Will defo have from here again! Thankyou for your helpfulness!

Great Indian takeaway! Owners from Birmingham, so I had a good laugh with them. Had the tandoori mixed grill, and it had amazing flavour, and the meat was really tender, unlike a lot of other local take outs. The naan that came with it was Cooked Perfect, and the portion size was just enough to keep me on the sofa for the rest of the evening. Will definitely be going back!

We ordered 3 dishes and a few starters, all were very good and good portions, I just wanted a touch more flavour in mine but that's it. Staff are very helpful.

Out of town visitors ... Fantastic food, you can taste all of the spices & more. I would definitely recommend, if we wasn't leaving on Sunday, I would be ordering again. When we ordered in the shop for delivery the address taken was incorrect however all of the guys working there went out of there way to make sure we had our delivery. Thanks x 5 star xxx

Was quite nice, little bit expensive but was recommended by a friend, couple of let downs onion bhaji was fried to a crisp & the Raita was tasteless other that that everything else was quite nice.
