7 of us went along for my Sons 21st Birthday meal, Owner and staff couldn’t have looked after us any better, food was delicious and service was first class, we all had a lovely night here and my son was fussed over and made to feel special. Overall a lovely experience, Thankyou Lion and Unicorn 💗

Booked a table here as we were staying locally. The food was nice, really hot and the service was very quick. Staff were very polite.

Went here many times. I find the staff welcoming, the pub offers a cosy ambience with its open fires and the food is lovely. I particularly like the meat pie. The veg is perfectly cooked and so are the potatoes.

We had dinner at the Lion & Unicorn and were impressed. Place looks nice from the outside, old worldy and has the same feel inside. Very comfortable with the open fire going, it was giving off plenty of heat. We had booked earlier online and we got a message back quickly to say we were booked in , place was quite busy, the staff were very friendly and efficient We had the Balmoral Chicken, with nice chips, haggis and lovely fresh vegetables. The meal was scrumptious and filling, to full to try the sweets. Finished it off with a stout and a Baileys. Can highly recommend this place

We were drving from Falkirk to Aberfoyle, looking for somewhere to have an early evening meal and thought the Lion & Unicorn looked good. Turned out to be a great decision. It is a welcoming, cosy Inn with plenty of tables and serving traditional pub fayre. Obviously we called in without a booking at around 5.00 and got a table no problem. But it was evident that this is a very popular pub and was very nearly full when we left. Booking may be necessary in the evening. As for the food, three of us had fish and chips and one the steak pie, all of which were high quality, tasty and left no room for sweet. Staff were friendly and efficient, the Inn has a lovely ambience and the prices were reasonable. A result all round! Highly Recommended.

New to the area we’d had the restaurant on our list to try for a while. We were not disappointed. The menu was very comprehensive - something for everyone! Delightful young girls as servers. Smiling and very engaging. Food delicious, wholesome and well presented. Lovely interior true to its historical construction.

We booked here as staying in the Thornhill Hill down the road, came both nights we were here. Both meals were exceptional. The food was fantastic everyone thoroughly enjoyed everything they had and the staff could not have been more friendly. They even remembered that we were here the second night for a special birthday and helped us celebrate by putting a candle in the desert and singing happy birthday. Special thank you to the owner.

Arrived in Thornhill to find the Hotel & Restaurant had a large car park. We were quickly seated in a very pleasant restaurant. Lots of choices on the dinner menu and we started with Homemade Haggis Fritters with a Whisky, Honey and Grain Mustard Dip for my wife, and Breaded Flat Cap Mushrooms with garlic mayo for myself. We polished off the lot. Mains were Steak and Belhaven Best pie topped with a Puff Pastry Lid with chips for my wife and Chicken Fillet topped with Haggis, wrapped in Bacon and served with a Whisky Cream Sauce with chips for myself. We were also served a sharing bowl of mixed vegetables. Generous portions which we struggled to finish. We couldn't manage dessert, but had welcome cappuccinos to finish. With a couple of glasses of wine, the bill was £62.40, but worth it. We decided to return for the final dinner of our short staycation, so booked again before leaving. Staff were efficient, attentive and friendly.

Conozco este lugar desde hace años, aunque nunca he estado allí, ¡ni siquiera cuando tenía amigos viviendo en Thornhill! El sol brillaba, excelente menú y muy razonable para la calidad de la comida con excelente servicio amable.Las verduras eran fabulosas, cocinadas como deberían estar, y hay pocos lugares en mi experiencia que puedan hacer una gaseosa y lima decentes, ¡especialmente cuando quieres una pinta!

La comida es exquisita, puedo recomendar el asado de costilla de res, servido con papas fritas y una mezcla de verduras recién cocidas, cocinadas a la perfección. ¡El delicioso pastel de banoffee tampoco estaba mal! ! Menú extenso repleto de platos tentadores y precios razonables. El servicio fue de primera clase. Definitivamente volveremos pronto.

With the “Eat Out Help Out” scheme in place everyone is thinking logically and trying to get good value from their favourite restaurants. No surprise that on a Wednesday night on the first night of schools going back this place was bursting at the seems. Having been here before (I’m quieter times) the meal we had was excellent. Taking into consideration how mentaly busy this place was they still pushed out excellent meals. My only small and I mean small criticisms, were that from start to finish it took nearly 3 hrs for 3 courses and payment. But in an age where it’s a privilege to eat out and still get an excellent meal, it really is a small criticism. Would highly recommend. Table 7 12/08/20

Visited this place today having done some brief research on places for lunch close to Stirling and to break up our long journey North. A nice polite welcome and shown to our seats with table service in effect due to the COVID restrictions. I ordered the Chicken Pie, the kids both ordered the burger and SWMBO the fishcake. We all received substantial portions, so much so that three of us didn’t clear our plates.The pie was fresh, creamy and full of taste. The children thoroughly enjoyed their burgers and we all went on our way satisfied. £60 for four meals, a side and five drinks was very well priced and we were out the door in about an hour. Would highly recommend.
