We’d been in Dobbies and decided to have some lunch so thought we’d go back to the Lion & Unicorn having recalled it being enjoyable last time. It was a lovely sunny day, pretty mild for February and a Friday lunchtime, the car park was unsurprisingly busy but there were tables available and ironically we were shown to the same table we sat at last time. The girl who had welcomed us was lovely, so friendly and efficient. Our drinks order was taken and then we ordered lunch. The food was as I remember, fresh, quality, plentiful and extremely tasty. I had ham salad and when it arrived it looked spectacular, so colourful with wonderfully fresh fruits and salads, the quality was tremendous, Well done to all concerned in putting our meals together, John had his usual gammon and cleared the plate and that speaks volumes! Perfect latte, probably the first time I have ever had a latte that was hot and stayed hot, amazing ! First Class!

Nice village location, this old hotel restaurant is a popular place to eat. The menu covers all the main needs, and the food is quite good, although when it is busy, there is a bit of a wait.

The Allan Water Cafe

16/11/2018: Had lunch today dropped in at 12.00 and took scampi and chips and the plaice and chips fast friendly service good portions . Café stared to pick up as we were leaving obviously a very popular meeting place for locals or visitors with a good view of the street outside . The menu is a typical chip shop menu plus they have a good range of ice creams as well
07/10/2018: This is a really nice to pop in for a meal and/or drinks. The staff are friendky and you get table service. Credit cards accepted. Some free on street parking but very limited at busy times. Near to the railway station.

The Gallery Restaurant

07/12/2018: Before I complain this is an excellent place with really good food and served by pleasant young staff. My recent issue is that 4 of us visited for a Christmas dinner. Starters were good, the goats cheese was brilliant. The turkey main course was indifferent, too much brown meat, and a little fatty, stuffing was not good but where it was a let down was lack of veg. Three very small roasties, a slice of carrot and two sprouts are a bit on the stingy side. Having said that we will continue to support this enterprise.
19/11/2018: After many unsuccessful attempts we finally managed to book a table (restaurant is getting rave reviews deservedly). Can't add anymore to previous reviews thoroughly enjoyable and a huge credit to everyone involved. Highly recommended
