Incorrect order we phoned to tried to rectify but they put the phone down on us. Won't be using them again.

I ordered it at about 8:30 for it to be delivered at 9:45 because my boyfriend and I weren’t going to be home from work until then I get a call at 9:08 telling me it’s outside I didn’t get an option as the driver was really rude and told me it’s here and he’s delivering it even if I was there or not, so when I get home it was freezing cold so I rang them asking why it was delivered so early and I got met with a rude woman telling me they didn’t see that in the notes when I know they saw the notes because the alterations they made on my order were in the notes they “didn’t read”???? Usually they are incredible and so on time and so lovely so I don’t know what happened today?

Usually our go to Chinese but they really outdid themselves this time best I've had 👌

Ordered from here on the weekend. Positives - salt and pepper chips, chicken chow mein, egg friend rice and curry sauce were all great. Negative- there was a lot more ball than chicken in the chicken balls, mainly doughy balls which was unenjoyable. Wouldn’t recommend, we gave up after the first 5 and didn’t eat them.

Food is lovely, I use this place without fail every-time for a Chinese takeaway. Food isn’t greasy and is always fresh which I like. I collect my order & is always ready within 20 minutes which is good.

2 hour wait. Rang several times to be told it’s on its way. Then they admit they forgot the order. Having been a long-standing customer it’s time to go elsewhere

Food ok-ish but order wrong, plus charged £10 more on delivery. When challenged the lady admitted her English wasn’t very good, was very rude and hung up on me 😡

Food amazing as always. But what is going on with delivery. I order at 7.50pm and it let me pick I delivery time which I picked 8.50pm. it got to 9.15 and I called them, they said they needed another 30mins or so, I couldn't believe it. I ended up going to collect our food instead. I had to wait even longer when I got to them, the phone rang twice with people asking where their food was. A few weeks before this we order for delivery to be told oh sorry your ticket didn't get print. Get rid of the select your times if you are unable to do it. We got a simple sorry, surely you could of offered a free dish or money off next time.

Went here for the first time the other week and it was very nice

We ordered beef curry, egg fried rice, chicken chowmein, sweet and sour chicken honk kong style and crispy beef and I have to say, every single thing was absolutely revolting, even the rice which is very confusing. Everything tasted like vinegar and was inedible and spat out. Never experienced anything like it. First and last time using Lin Nam despite being it being reccomended.

Marked down on atmosphere as it's a takeaway!!! A door, a counter and kitchen at the back! As for the food it was very nice (pork curry and egg fried rice with a pancake roll) and hot. Service was friendly and food ready in 15 minutes. That being said I did order just after opening and picked up so no experience of delivery. Would use again.

Normally order from here and it’s usually okay today i rang up and the lady was so rude on the phone it’s an understatement!!! food is greasy as anything and taste vile.

Worst takeaway I’ve ever had! The Char Sui Pork and Crispy Chilli Beef we ordered were absolutely awful. The pork was so dry despite being in a sauce it was like eating a sandal. The crispy chilli beef was the same dry, chewy and in some kind of tomato sauce which tasted revolting. I will never order from here again and I would recommend avoiding at all costs. We couldn’t eat our mains they tasted so bad, complete waste of money. I did phone up to complain, the first person hung up on me and the second said that it was in a sauce so it couldn’t be dry and that was the style.

Amazing chinese food but can depend on which chef is working. Mostly 5 stars but occasionally less. Fri and sat are always best. Crispy chili beef and salt and chili squid are a favourite. If you are looking for a sausage and chips, go elsewhere as their chippy food is not so good but why would you order English food from a Chinese?

Me and my girlfriends go to Chinese takeaway or takeaway in general honestly. The salt and pepper chicken / chili chicken strips are divine, with some egg fried rice and sweet and sour sauce. Highly recommend, Changed my life. Good portions and value for money. Service is always friendly. Sometimes pop in on the way home from work for a cheeky portion of the salt and pepper chicken to just eat while walking home. Really quick and tasty!

Well, I've been using Lin Nam for well over 20 yrs & never had any complaints, but I have to say, the last 2 meals we've had from here have been pretty bland to say the least. Not sure what's gone wrong but hope they sort it out soon. If not I'll pay the extra and get it from Marlin Fish Bar! 😕

Sweet and sour chicken balls were lovely But chips were dry and shriveled obviously chips were left over from the day before And prawn crackers were stale. Not great to be honest

Always quick hot delivery food always tasty and orders have always been correct, recommend if you want a good Chinese.

Disappointed, have ordered before and food is nice but tonight had to call to order as orders couldn’t be placed online. ordered and collected the meal, brought it home only to have the wrong meal. They had given us a beef dishe but i am vegetarian so obviously wouldn’t have ordered beef. Tried to call and rectify it but was just met with an argument. Eventually they agreed to provide us with the meal we initially wanted, on the condition that we gave them back the beef dish they gave us accidentally if it was still in ‘edible condition’. I sincerely hope that doesn’t mean what I think it does but was a rather strange request all things concerned. Was glad to have the situation resolved until the delivery man came to the door and dumped the pot of new food in my boyfriends hands with sauce everywhere and I had to clean it off the floor. Probably won’t order from there again lol

Way to hot curry lemon chicken was nice though

Finally found a Chinese takeaway that is local to us and actually tastes good without costing the earth! We had crispy duck and pancakes, vegetarian spring rolls, lemon chicken with egg fried rice and chicken chow mein. We ordered too much but it was all delicious and generous portions, so good value for money. We will definitely be ordering our Chinese takeaway from here again in the future.

good food but constantly let down with missing or different dishes. I placed a order and my dish was completely different to what I asked for. Its not worth going back to the shop to collect a new dish while the rest of your food gets cold. I order from them frequently because I like some of the food. But this will be the last time I bother spending my money with them as it just happens too often. they really need to work on getting there orders correct. If you need reliability don't choose this take away.

Great food always delivers on time

Ordered takeaway tonight and very disappointed. Ordered grilled prawns with satay sauce when it came:- no satay sauce only prawns swimming in brown fluid tasting like chilli with lots of vegetables. When phoning to complain they said that was what i ordered. I would not recommend.

I have been eating from Lin nam's for many years but after tonight's exchange I will never spend a penny in this establishment. Whilst the food is okay its a 50/50 on whether the rice is cooked correctly. I ordered my usual of a Chicken curry/Boiled rice / portion of chips/curry sauce at 7pm and by 9pm nothing had arrived so I gave them 2 hours to deliver and when I rang up to cancel the person I spoke to offered absolutely no apologies and just kept asking me to repeat my address. When she confirmed my address she just said *cancelled bye* and hangs up. Now I am not expecting a tearful heartwrenching apology by any means but to let a customer wait 2 hours and then not even apologise is just a disgrace to those who order from them. The person who answered the phone to me has cost them a customer who USED to make this their go to Chinese. Absolutely disgraceful people skills.

Bought two takeaways. They substituted noodles for the beansprouts we were expecting, in both the soups and the mains. Never told us. It completely spoiled the meals. Never risk going there again.

I've been using Lin Nam since 1998, and never had a bad word to say about them. Their food is excellent, staff courteous and efficient, and they will cook a special request even though it's not in the menu 🤗

We use this takeaway regularly. Sadly, our food was awful tonight. Dried out chicken & satay sauce. Chicken Chow Mein ordered and paid for, but on return home, we found tub of dry noodles had been supplied. We won't be rushing back for another meal!!

I think I have gone here once a month or more for the last 7 years. Wouldn't consider anywhere else for Chinese food.

I have been visiting this takeaway for 10 years even after we moved to another part of Bristol. For many years I gave it 5 stars however we noticed over last few visits over the last year the quality was declining. Our last visit the food was awful to the point where we will no longer return, it was worse than the food at the take away that we used to use when that declined and caused us to seek out an alternative. 2 stars is generous now.

I always order the chicken chow mein. My wife orders the lemon chicken. And egg fried rice. We always have it delivered. Always fantastic service and quality of food.

One of the best Chinese in Bristol. So much so, that we still order from even though we are no longer in the catchment area.

This is the best Chinese take away I go to and there are several around me and most of them are very nice but not as good as this one. The menu is really varied and although the curry and crispy chilli dishes are hot compared to some others they aren't too hot and are almost always really enjoyable. The sweet and sour Hong Kong style dishes are excellent and always very tasty, the rice dishes are nice and if you spend a certain amount you get free prawn crackers. If you spend more again and collect it you get a free dish, usually a apatiser, the last one I had was chicken with pepper corn salt and this is outstanding and always goes down well. The prices are competitive and the service is quick, friendly and helpful. I can't recommend them enough !

Great service and good size portions, the food and selection is always been top, we always ask for a little extra chilli to. They offer a delivery service to which obviously has conditions ie free within a 2 mile radius and an order over £10 in price, for further they do charge a small but good value fee.
