Very good service and lovely chips too

Used to be fantastic here but has gone completely down the drain unfortunately. Fish was rock hard and inedible, never had a hard fish before in my life but here we are. Judging by the rubbery texture and appearance I strongly suspect it was raw. Chips are dry and average. Was complete waste of money. Very disappointed.

although my delivery was late. I was telephoned to apologise and advised it would be late. which was very useful

I asked for large fish, the gave me small, and uncooked chips, I’d avoid this place if I was you

AVOID. Shocking place. Years ago it was the best fish and chips for miles. Now a wasted of time staffed by the most inept, and ridiculous people. Walked out after the longest wait, had to get to work. And the dopey kid serving had wandered off again.

A legendary place in Kingswood, went in today craving a burger... well a burger is definitely what I got! With the owner James serving and Emily who made our burgers. We definitely got our moneys worth along with welcoming faces and smiles, and a few giggles when Emily couldn't even close the burger boxes they were that big, glorious and just scrumptious 😋 😍 The fish or sausage and chips with curry sauce has always been a go to choice but needless to say I've definitely found another amazing item on the menu and was definitely a great choice. HIGHLY RECCOMEND I can't seem to add a photo but believe in me you won't believe how good the burgers looked 👌 😋

Fish wasn't upto par as normally it is it had a weird taste not sure it was cod tbh every other delivery we've had has been amazing but today not good 😐

I never ordered a meal for today I ordered it for Tuesday. cancelled it yesterday and they sent it today unable to get in touch with clocktower chipshop and rang 6 times and left 2 text messages but no response

Had a meal last night, had many meals here, from Easter fish and chips, to cod bites and burgers, all cooked fresh to order and thoroughly enjoyed by myself and my kids.

We recently bought fish and chips at the clock tower and it was really nice. The batter was crispy, chips were lovely and fluffy on the inside, and the temperature was still good by the time we drove home. The place is really clean, and offers seating if needed. The seating area has had a face-lift since my last visit. The staff are friendly and whilst the food was cooked fresh, it was served quickly so we didn't have to wait too long.

The service from the front counter staff was great. Got my order spot on and packed it well. The food was really good. Great chips and curry sauce. Was a bit of a wait, but you can't rush quality.

I have always had a nice fish and chip here, generous portions, and room to eat inside if you like. Easy to find on the High Street right by the clocktower, and it’s been here as long as I can remember!

The chips seemed to be fresh. However most of them were scraps … delivery was 19:10, checked the app time had changed … was delivered at 19:35. £19 … not a cheap takeaway !the lady who delivered was lovely! Will not order again , waste of money!

One of the burgers was burnt and covered in gross black bits and tasted burnt. I had to bin it. Otherwise it was all good.

Always amazing fish and chips from here. Fish is always huge and a portion of chips is big enough for to people. Curry sauce is also always good and my partner loves the Irish Curry Sauce. 👌🏻

Last time we are ordering! Food is amazing but takes too long to deliver , every time they give you a delivery time and it really means nothing, it’s not the roads it’s poor planning, don’t offer a service you can’t fulfill, such a shame

Food is decent but unfortunately they take forever to deliver. well over 1hour 30mins to a property that’s less than 1-2 miles away it’s not the first time won’t be ordering again. If your hungry order from somewhere else.

Just ordered via deliveroo, the chip portions were..not amazing as i paid £5.60 for a large portion and there was probably about 1 extra handful than the regular, if that. Some of my chips were unusually hard. The food was cold(which could be deliveroos fault)

Service is zero. Ordered almost 2 hours ago. They are closing at 9 and it's a quarter to. Phoned twice and there is a message saying that their box if full. Where is my order? And where has my money gone? You better refund immediately. I had to fill in the stupid questions below, otherwise I wasn't able to post the review.

The young lad who served me my chippy was the most polite boy. He had a great smile and helped me out. The food was amazing especially the chicken. I would recommened

Haven't been here for years. Just as I remember it. Best cod and chips in the West. Huge portions. Choices of different sauces and dips. Crispy batter, flavoursome chunky chips. Definitely going again.

Went in there at 8 o clock and nothing no fish nothing very poor should be able to get a meal up until closing time at 9 o clock

Tried phoning to place an order for delivery, said they open at 4pm so rang no answer and mailbox full when went to answer machine, continued until 5.30 and still no answer, I’m disabled and needed delivery, so in the end gave up and went online to another chip shop lodge causeway fish bar and ordered straight away , no problem whatsoever, order was over £30 which is what Clock Tower lost out on, I like to support local places but very disappointed.

Was looking neat and tidy, Fish cooked in fresh oil, nice cripy flavour with chips thick cut mediocre taste. Over all not bad and recommended for traditional fish n chips lovers.

There prices have increased which is understandable, but they need to update their menu board as some of the prices are different from the one's on the till, and the person who was serving needs to listen to the what the customer is asking for, he got several orders wrong including mine, one last thing if you increase prices don't decrease portion size as well.

Very poor when it came to the fish,all batter and no fish. We are regular customers as we live locally and find the quality can be very hit a miss. More miss than hit of late.

Xmas menu is amazing. It's become our new Xmas tradition. Festive fries, battered sprouts 😋 and the kids treat bag blew our sons mind. Thank you. Delivery super quick and hot.

We had cod n chips and the festive fries, omg, festive fries are gorgeous, Turkey full of flavour as was the stuffing (reminded me of school stuffing, a good thing, loved school roast dinners) gravy thick and tasty, pigs in blankets, peas and chips perfect, if they sold this all year I would buy it every week, cod was delicious, crispy batter and juice fish, delivery was spot on and food delivered hot and with a smile, 10/10 without a doubt best chips this of bristol, would highly, highly recommended this chip shop

The lunchtime service & food has gone right downhill since Dan & James are not there at lunch times anymore, very disappointing. I won’t be going there again after being a regular customer for many many years.

Great service, fish (I have odered regular cod) was very tasty. Slightly small portion, but I think it's a trend nowadays with fish prices rocketing. Chips were unfortunately quute bad... too greasy, stone hard and overcooked. Looks like a busy place, so maybe I got unlucky with a dodgy batch of chips. Will be coming back soon.

I wanted to give Clock Tower Fish Bar 5 stars as the food was great, chips tasted crispy and fluffy inside, Irish curry sauce was rich, creamy with a good amount of hotness and the vegan battered sausage, the batter was light, taste was fantastic. The place felt a little dated and a little dirty. A cook came from the back, he had a cold or something and not once but twice swiped his nose in his fingers and then without washing his hands proceeded to handle food and serve a customer. Luckily it wasn't us. The server was pleasant, obviously saw us looking at the vegan menu, went to the counter and told he would take our order soon, waited about 3-5 minutes which is fine. I said I'd like to order from the vegan menu, he turned to the other guy and asked if vegan menu was on. The guy said chips, Irish curry sauce and sausage /battered sausage, this was great, as its definitely more than other chips shops. Food tasted great, would recommend chips, Irish curry sauce and battered sausage. Fantastic that they have a vegan menu. Overall was good experience.

Definitely my favourite chippy in brizzle. If I can I get almost everything on the vegan menu (lol), the vegan cheese and onion fritter/curry fritter/mushy pea fritter are all sooo good. Also worth trying the battered sausage and burger which are both well worth trying! One thing is sometimes the curry sauce is thin and sometimes it's thicker, not sure why the difference but worth pointing out. Really like their chips too, and every time we've had food delivered it's been hot.

The worst: Small menu but I guess you are really here for only one reason. Price isn't cheap but on par with other places which serve up average food. The lowdown: The cod is fresh with big chunky flakes in a top notch batter. Chips? Well they are hand cut and smooth... It's almost like mashed potato on the inside! Chips are chips but these guys do em good! Place itself is a bit bleak but you probably aren't planning on dining in and will take away. Will be my go to spot for my cravings.

Very poor service. Wife saw an advert on Facebook saying free delivery on all orders, placed order at 6.15pm quoted 90 mins for delivery, no issue as thought they would be busy, waiting till 8.30pm with no delivery, tried to ring but mailbox full, sent a message via messenger at 8.45pm saying we would like to cancel the order, had a reply saying sorry and would refund and give us a code for a free large bag of chips, been waiting over a week for the refund (not bothered about the free chips) still nothing, sent another message via messenger 3 days ago chasing refund, not even replying now! Wont be using again, Marios from now on.

I was a bit disappointed with the fish and chips I received from the clocktower, I expected much better from "award winning" fish and chips. It was quite greasy and the batter was quite thick on my fish. Though the fish underneath was quite great it was ruined by the batter, the chips were also a little dry.

But after walking in on an evening which wasn't busy by any stretch, 2 people behind the counter, who weren't directly dealing with any customers failed so much at to say "I'll be with you in a second". No hello, no eye contact. Nothing. Such a bad impression. 2 minutes later they both walked off. No surprise but so did I.

Wow just had the best Cod and chips I think I’ve ever eaten. It was a home delivery following reading the Evening Post live review. The food was still piping hot and batter crispy. The cod just flaked away in huge, moist chunks and the batter wasn’t greasy but had a lovely crunch. I also had very nice chips. Onion rings that must have been made fresh were delicious. Tried Irish curry sauce which I’d never heard of but it was smooth, tangy, with a spicy sweetness. The delivery took around an hour but for freshly cooked food at a busy time of day didn’t think that was bad. What amazed me was the huge amount of gluten free and vegan options available. Never seen this at usual ’chippy’s’. Have a lot of vegan/gluten intolerant friends so will recommend they try this. Fantastic food.

We called in here last week for dinner and sat in the restaurant to eat. It's obviously a takeaway too so not a candlelit dinner place but the service was lovely and staff friendly. Our food arrived quickly, was well cooked and presented and portion sizes were good. A nice change from the usual Indian and definitely something to do more often.

First time of using delivery. Fish and chips arrived piping hot cooked to perfection crispy batter chips cooked to perfection also would not hesitate to use again and thoroughly recommend it..

Fish & Chips good, batter crispy but a bit oily portion size good , curry sauce though was just weird.

Simply the friendliest chippy, Popped in for lunch special fish and chips which was recommended by my daughter who lives locally, great food felt like a real part of the community. Thanks for the treat for our dog.
