Lime Tree in Blaby

Delicious food with a wonderful choice of dishes, great value and service, lovely atmosphere. Enjoyed a variety of mains and desserts, all were great portions, perfectly cooked and presented in a non urgent pleasant dining environment. Visited after booking for a Monday lunchtime.

Greatly disappointed in the professionalism of a couple of staff members there. One waitress was extrenely rude telling us that "we need the table in a minute". When we had not even finished eating our food. There were several other free tables in the restaurant that were free but despite this we were told twice to leave now. Then we moved into the bar area and sat down at a table that was free and not marked reserved. Within 5 minutes of sitting down with newly topped up glasses, another waitress came along and said she needed the table! We couldn't believe the manners of the staff here. We had booked a table to meet friends who were have not seen for several months and had paid for additional drinks. There were no other places to sit and we were expected to stand up in the bar which was very crowded. Although the food was nice, I will not be returning to this venue again, based on the unprofessional behaviour of a couple of members of staff.

I am a frequent customer at Lime Tree, and it was not the first time I had informed the staff about my son's allergy to broad beans, chickpeas, and fava beans. However, it was the first time they told me there was a chance of cross-contamination with anything fried, such as fries, chips, halloumi chips, mac and cheese bites, etc. It was a bit odd, and then the manager came over to tell me the same thing the kind waitress had already explained and asked if it was a severe allergy. I said yes, that it is a severe allergy, and my 9-year-old son would not have mac and cheese bites or chips/fries, just bread with his steak. However, when the meal was served, his steak came with chips and onion rings! Luckily, even though my boy was tempted and very hungry, he noticed and told me that last time he was allowed to eat these things. He only ate the bread and his grilled steak and I put aside the chips and onion rings . I didn’t say anything to the manager or the poor waitress because the restaurant was super busy, and I felt like we were taking up too much of their time. However, I didn’t leave a tip. I’m still wondering why, after all these years, they hadn’t mentioned the chance of cross-contamination. Has there been a recent change in their menu? Couldn’t they use fresh oil with a clean pan to keep the customer satisfied? It’s the first time my kid couldn’t eat fries at a restaurant!"

Amazing food and the puddings were delicious!! Left feeling full and happy! Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much of a hassle for them!!

Very disappointing extremely small portions we came away still feeling hungry. No were near as good as the Whetstone golf club up the road were you get superb quality and far bigger portions and don't come away still feeling hungry

Amazing food! We was visiting the area for a dance competition the following day and our hotel didn't offer food. We looked this place up and the menu looked great so we booked a table. Food was delicious and staff provided great service. It was very busy, so it's obviously very popular with the locals and I'm not surprised why, with the vast menu options and delicious food. We both had the pie which was delicious. I had the cookie dough which was by far the best I have ever had and such a big portion that I felt sick when I finished haha, and my mum had the roulade which she said was the best she's had - even better than M&S! Only downfall for us was car parking was an issue, there was no spaces at all and I ended up having to park in a nearby street and walking with my disabled mum. It was probably because it was so busy though, so I wouldn't be put off!

Awesome place loved by our son who was 32 months old when we’ve been there last month. Thanks to the good weather we could sit right in front of the play area where we enjoyed lovely food. They also have a children menu, I’ve had the “mini” cod and chips (available in the midweek lunch menu) but the portion would have been an average one in any other place. Great value for money, friendly service, we’ll definitely be back if driving again through that area.

Came for dinner with my partner and it was an excellent evening we will definitely return, on arrival we waited a while to be seated but it wasn’t a problem as we could see the staff were busy and every time a staff member went but they said we will be seen to soon wich was great. Me and my partner both had Cod and chips wich were absolutely amazing! such good flavour and a great amount of food for the price! quick service and staff were lovely when it can be difficult in that environment!

Great service friendly staff and nice beer on tap but the Sunday carvery was very poor.We went there for my daughters birthday meal.It was very fatty and gritty I normally can eat anything but struggled to eat this ! The rest of the family left majority of their food on plate.I would go again and try something else on the menu but for the price and special occasion I was expect quality very disappointing as spent £70 +

We heard this location had been refurbished and it was very busy. We had the Sunday Carvery and the food was excellent. It was very busy but the service was first class and we didn't have to wait for anything with our plates collected as soon as we had all finished. Great value for money too and well worth a visit. Well done to all.

The staff were pleasant and the pub is well decorated. We were pleasantly surprised how good our meals were - they were well presented, proportioned and delicious. It's a 'recommend' from us. It would be good if there could be more vegetarian options and a main course salad, especially for lunchtime. Thank you for being dog-friendly in the bar area.

Food and staff where great and really accommodating, can't say a bad thing about the meal. We really enjoyed the atmosphere which was very relaxing.

I really don't know why I even went to this dreadful shabby place again? The very young staff were OK. Had pre ordered festive fayre. After 30 minutes the starter had not arrived so had to ask where it was? A bowl of soup and antipasti were then served. Main course I had Sea Bass which was exquisite. But the deep fried, rock hard potatoes were inedible, and accompanied by brussels sprouts, parsnips and carrots I found it odd to say the least with fish. Most disappointing were the slivers of samphire. Overcooked and sparse. With a mediocre Pinot Grigot at £7.20 a glass the whole experience was dire. This is not a restaurant, it is an extremely over priced scruffy canteen. Have now learned my lesson and will spend my money on proper restaurant food, where fish is served with a sauce at least.

We had the most fantastic Christmas meal here last night. We were a big group and the service was amazing! Our waitress Izzie was fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious! Can’t recommend this place highly enough! We will definitely be back again soon!

Went for dinner with my parents on Saturday evening. Service was fantastic from start to finish, special thanks to Izzy who was our server for the evening and couldn’t do enough for us. Great venue, good parking, normally good service, good wine menu; But the food is always just average. My mixed grill was over cooked, my wife's haloumi was cool (her sauvignon blanc was warm!), there was no non-battered fish or non-battered seafood on the menu. The chips & fries were excellent! It's a shame as it is so convenient.

Being londoner , and being lied about not doing singles whiskey or any shots at all is hilarious. I just think how can that be in any pub in Midlands, especially with all the mix crowd you had. Also the manager just emptied the till and left when I asked for drink .. just say now instead of lying.. what a massive let down.

Frequent visitor to this brilliant pub. Staff are always polite, friendly & extremely attentive. Last night served drinks by lovely bar staff & looked after so well by Lauren.
