They dumped the food outside in the rain and cold without telling me and the food itself was nothing to write home about. Avoid

Ordered a lamb jalfrezi expecting the heat that would be expected. No chillis, just green pepper. Someone ordering jalfrezi hopes for spice and a tongue tingle; this was not there. Partner was also disappointed with meal. There was a lack of meat and an abundance of potato. Garlic naans were better; it didn’t save the meal.

Nice tasty food that is worth the extra cost but it does take a long time for it to be prepared and it is not easy to get in because there are steps at the entrance although they did tell me I could go in through the other door but that is going straight into where people are sitting eating in the restaurant so if you are just going to pick up a takeaway you don't really want to draw attention to yourself by going in that way but the staff are very polite and helpful

Been here a few times with my girlfriend’s family, staff are very talkative and food was great, definitely a great Indian to visit.

This Indian food outlet had been recommended, so I ordered a takeaway by telephone.. I was advised to collect in 25 minutes... I arrived to collect on time, but had to wait a further 35 minutes before the meals were ready. I could see that the restaurant was really busy, and I would have accepted the long preparation time had I been advised of it when I phoned the order through.. When I got the food home I found we were missing a portion of rice, and one of the main orders was completely incorrect... The only consolation was that the members of my family who received the correct orders said the food was good.. I don't think I will be returning here any-time soon..

We've tried all of the Indian restaurants in Lichfield and have just found this new little gem. It's really good value and the food was amazing, particularly the king prawn dhansak!!

What can I say.... wrong orders, food not cooked correctly and a very long wait. Customer service was seriously lacking. It wasn't even that busy in there. I don't know what they would if it got busy. On the plus side there is one member of staff that is on the ball. Let's just say she's in the minority.

What a lovely experience! I booked a table for 10 people on a Monday night for a family birthday celebration. We opted for the all you can eat menu in order to be able to try a few different dishes. The staff were amazing, so helpful, friendly and efficient. The owner was very attentive, checking everything was ok and laughing and joking with us. The food was delicious and plenty of it. We didn't order more as we couldn't even manage the initial food served, for this we were offered boxes to be able to take what was left home, so I now have tonight's meal sorted.....the gift that keeps giving! I would highly recommend The Ruby restaurant and we will definitely be back soon :-)

Human hair in my main course, sent it back, then the chef came out and started arguing with me, saying it was a bristle from his basting brush. Very embarrassing, people looking at us. No apology, no compensation of any description. Won't be going again.

Ashamed to have taken our American visitors there! Our friend had got caught in motorway traffic and was running late. We rang to apologise and they said it was still ok to come. When we got there at 3.45 pm we were met with not “hello or welcome” but a scowling waitress whose greeting was “You’re too late, we shut at 5 pm”! Rude and unwelcoming staff. And then our scowling waitress informed us there was no decaffeinated tea!!! In this day and age!!!! I was going to offer to nip to Tesco’s a get some, but in reality I wanted to get out of there asap as the afternoon tea had door-stop sized sandwiches with dry, unimaginative fillings and only a choice of scones, scones, and two of the tiniest Little pastries. I will not be returning!
