Oh my god how bad is this place. When considering value and quality it’s probably one of the worse experiences I’ve had. Four brunches. One meal of a warmed scorn was delivered 20 minutes before the other three. Then we were served the worst pancakes and have ever witnessed. If you look back at my reviews i have seen a lot ! The American one was three cold hard discs served with two bits of baked like they had came out of. 1 12th scale model house. The banana one was three cold hard discs served with hard in ripened banana. Both about £9 each. So embarrassing that we took our elderly parents out for proper food afterwards. Don’t understand why it’s busy. When the cashier asked “was it alright” and i replied “err no not really” i was met with “thats £48 !” Never again.

We had a cup of tea at the Lime Kiln Kitchen on Friday.On looking at our receipt afterwards,we were charged an extra 69p for Oat Milk,on top of the price of the tea.We think this is very unfair to charge extra for non dairy milk.The non dairy milk will keep longer than dairy and the amount of people passing through the cafe,it would soon get used up anyway.

First and foremost the staff in the whole garden centre including the cafe were charming and helpful. The food we had was good. The service was good. Two gripes - there was no fresh fuit offering on the menu - just a pear, apple or banana would be have been good - or berries and yogurt? The other gripe was a dog in the dog friendly area (fairly close to us) incessantly barking. I do not agree with dogs in restaurants. How have we managed in the past? I have two much loved dogs but I do not feel the need to drag them everywhere with me. Perhaps an outdoor area under cover would suit everyone?

We visit the cafe for breakfast about twice a month. The food and drinks are always good. Today though we particularly asked for our juice first but breakfast came and no juice. We asked a waitress who said she would get but seemed to go in the opposite direction. The young lady who took our order however see my partner go up looking for sauces, she immediately turned round and noticed our drinks weren’t on the table. Within second she brought our juices and lattes. I would like to highlight that this young lady always goes above and beyond and what I love about her most of all is her calm nature. Thank you to that young lady

Was once a lovely friendly place to lunch has turned into an overpriced poor quality experience. We used to visit regularly however not anymore. We have been used to waiting for a table and being summoned by a buzzer. This time after a short wait of 20 minutes we entered to find perhaps 50% of the tables occupied? Why the wait? We waited a good 10 minutes to be served and another 10 for our luke warm coffees and teas to arrive. Bad luck if you want to complain the staff keep their distance unless they are just delivering food. Unfortunately what used to be good quality food has changed to smaller overpriced portions of mediocre quality. When you request the bill it seems they take quite a time to appear, maybe they are concerned you may complain. What a shame, I certainly wouldn't recommend.

Thought we’d pop in for a late lunch and now wish we hadn’t bothered. 30 min wait for table which wasn’t a massive problem as it’s usually very busy lunch time. Was very surprised when our meals were brought out, toasted 3 cheese and farmhouse pickle sandwich burnt. Why would you serve a meal knowing that the bread was burnt, that’s very bad service the waitress should have picked up on that before she brought it out. The waitress did say she’d take it back to kitchen but as I’d already waited 30 mins and was hungry I said it’s ok but I’ll have some mayo to soften it a bit. It didn’t but my choice. The chips were cold and not as tasty as I remember them being previously.the garnish was a couple of lettuce leaves all for £10.99! We’ve been coming here since it opened up years ago and I can say not again until they change their prep and service. Such a let down.

The Breakfast was absolutley delicious!! My husband had the Full English, he really enjoyed it and I ordered the Mushroom & Spinach on Sourdough but I ordered two poached eggs to go with and it was one of the best breakfasts I have eaten. The Mushrooms were buttery and flavourfull and the eggs completed it, just delicious, thank you.

Had breakfast with my daughter and dog, out on the decking area last week. Service was great and the food was delicious. Things here definitely seem to have improved recently and we’ll be back again soon.

Had a lovely afternoon tea here to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Our food was good, however I did note a few tables complaining around ours. The only downfall for me was the service which was very slow.

I hadn’t eaten in the garden Center for a couple of years. However this used to be a place I loved to visit for lunch. A friend and I thought to try the Pizza van out back in the evening. Arriving at around 6:30. We managed to get our order in and had a pizza each with chips and dip. Then ordered a drink. Very shortly after grabbing a drink and having our food delivered the staff started shutting down for the evening. Much earlier than advertised. Perhaps we would have liked another drink? Like the lady on another table. She tried to ask and had the van hatch nearly shut on top of her head. Staff turned the music off while we were eating and began clearing up around people and across people. Emptying the bins behind us and generally making us feel quite unwelcome. The pizza was very lacklustre and didn’t pack much flavour. To top it off my fries were inedible. They were absolutely caked in salt. This is coming from someone that enjoys far too much salt in my diet. So to say I found them inedible is quite impressive. Prices of cake I had noticed as well are insane. I appreciate that costs have gone up and the GC use local ingredients. However to serve bad food for overinflated prices is not going to bring people in. Especially in this economy. A real shame.

Very over priced for very poor quality food. Saw friend in garden centre after I had lunch at Lime Kiln Kitchen and told them to go elsewhere for lunch. Will not be returning to Lime Kiln Kitchen.

Rather poor and definitely not up to the expected standards, given the 'awards'. Waited 30 minutes for a table, ordered meals and drinks. 30 further minutes later coffees arrived and were consumed before my lukewarm jacket potato arrived. Had to resort to water with meal. An average meal that took an age, and very expensive considering the experience. At almost any other restaurant you would have your ordered drink WITH your meal.

Something is going seriously amiss with what was one of our favourite restaurants, in terms of worsening waiting for drinks and food, miserly attitude - when asking for an extra butter as the two small packets provided not enough for two slices of toast, stating there will be an extra charge - and generally very overpriced. Said toast has increased by 50%, the cakes are extortionately priced, and even lunch specials have increased by 30%. Management really need to read the many reviews by dissatisfied customers before they lose their loyalty which is currently being severely tested. We have found the plants though well tended are the most expensive around.

Stood waiting to be seated for over 10 mins by staff totally ignoring you (thought I had become invisible ) they wernt busy. In the end had to approach member of staff and ask for table off they went never to be seen and had to wait again Eventually seated waitress appalling Finally brought our order over Menu clearly states with butter , but got given marge asked for butter was told that's it we don't do butter clear breach of trading standards so come on tradi g standards get in there and issue a fine Overall a very unpleasant experience if Tey are going to charge 5 star prices deliver 5 star service and goods. Would have better service in a greasy spoon very very dissapointed

Lunch with family, food and drinks delicious, very good quality, tasted like all made on site. Really enjoyed sugar free hot chocolate, something I have not seen anywhere before. Staff very friendly and efficient, will certainly be visiting again

Had breakfast here twice while staying locally. Service was spot on, we were seated and served quickly on both occasions. Food arrived quickly even though it was busy. Staff were friendly and attentive. I had the smashed avocado and poached eggs on sourdough. It was really tasty and the eggs were perfectly cooked so that the yolk was still runny. Next time I had the vegetarian breakfast. Everything was cooked perfectly, hash browns were lovely and crispy. The wilted spinach was perfectly seasoned. May visit again before we go home.

Went here to do some shopping and get a mower, staff were in their own little worlds not taking much notice of the customers around them, went in the mower area and the staff would rather sit on a computer than interact with a potential sale, they don't meet the so called hype about them. Went to the restaurant and there was literally no service! Had to wait 30min to actually get a table (fair enough). However, after being sat down. No one approached us to say when we would be served. The waiting staff just walked back and forth no eye contact nothing. Did not feel welcoming at all, so decided to leave. On leaving I decided to mention it to the manager who was also just staring into a computer and not very responsive to our feed back he was quite aggressive in his approach so we just left, never returning as it was overpriced and bad customer services.

Beautiful little brunch for me and my wife while doing some garden shopping. The service was good, and they were very attentive to dietary needs. My wife had avocado on gluten free toast with poached eggs, and I had some very tasty eggs Florentine. Well worth the stop.

We were lucky enough to be given a voucher for afternoon tea here. Afternoon Tea starts at 2pm and we arrived then. Very messy in the restaurant with lots of tables with uncleared plates. Lots of staff on duty not really achieving anything? Straight away they said they’d run out of scones! How could this be possible at 2pm and how can you have an afternoon tea without them we thought. However they did find us some that were so very small and disappointing, and by small we mean not as big as a satsuma! Sandwiches were adequate, cakes not so good. Would’ve been nice to have someone explain what they were. One of us doesn’t drink tea or coffee and there was no alternative apart from purchasing a soft drink. Never been a problem in other places. Glad we didn’t have to pay, I’d value it at a third to half of what it costs.
