Portion sizes very small. Presentation partly made up for it - and plates were nice. Hair found in the donut dessert batter. Water not topped up at any point; left thirsty. Spent £60 pp having only one beer and left hungry. 😢

Warm and inviting restaurant with bright and flavoursome food.

The food was very good. As a Peruvian I would call the food Peruvian Inspired but not Peruvian as some dishes are not Peruvian at all or they are distant variations. Still, the quality and presentation of the food is great. The pisco sours are amazing! Service was good until around 10.15pm when we started feeling like they wanted to kick us out as soon as possible. Value is about right for what you would expect in Central London. Overall 4 out of 5 experience.

Our waitresses were outstanding and the guys at the bar prepared us great cocktails!(They make an incredible pisco sour).We were celebrating our anniversary and even though we didn't order a dessert because we were stuffed the team prepared us a beautiful dessert to wish us happy anniversary! Portions too small. Prices WAY too high for this quality.

Been here for many years (as Lima Floral and now Lima Cantina) but shrinkflation taking a hold. Lomo Saltado with just 5 tiny pieces of fillet for £29 but lots of vegetables and potatoes to make it look larger. Ceviche with much less fish. Also need to buy bottles water as was told that their tap water is unfiltered and taste is not great. They seem to push the bread on you (bread in a Peruvian?!) to fill you up. And, one of my pet hates, pushing the service charge up to 13.5%. Sorry, it’s been a great ride, but for one posco sour, food that left you hungry and at £60 a head, saying “adios” to Cantina.

Delicious food and drink and very welcoming service. We had dinner here before a performance at the Noel Coward Theatre. We can't understand why the restaurant was not packed. Perhaps you haven't discovered the deliciousness of Peruvian food? Come have a Pisco Sour and the La Brasa Pollo, the perfectly seasoned potatoes, the sweet corn cake! And save room for the Picarones (donuts) for dessert and the smooth Peruvian coffee. Great meal.

Our experience at Lima Cantina was excellent. Both the food & service was fantastic. I highly recommend. Only confusing thing was the bill, which had service charge already added, yet the restaurant asks you to add service charge again when you pay the bill.

Brilliant service - highly attentive to the food allergies at our table.

The staff was the highlight. Very attentive, very knowledgeable. I think the restaurant should do everything possible to keep this team. Amazing. Food and drinks were also really good. A rare find in the west end.

Really enjoyed this food, very tasty and enjoyed the flavours. The service was good and they kept checking in on you to make sure everything was okay. I guess my only thing, was the tables were too close and tight to each other, so not quite private.

A lovely find and just what my mam and I were looking for. She had the pollo alla brasa and we both commented on how juicy the tender chicken was, and I had the beef filet lomo saltado, which came in a rich sauce with tomato, onion and potatoes. The beef fillet was exceptionally cooked (I’m jealous how well) and I’m looking forward to researching both recipes so I can have a go at home. The staff were attentive and friendly without being overbearing and took a genuine interest in our enjoyment. Definitely recommend,

Would go back and don't recommend it. My husband and I went to Lima Cantina to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our reservation was for 7:30pm and we were out by 8:20pm! That shows how quickly we were served which is great, but not so great when you feel you are being rushed all the time. I hadn't finished my last spoonful from my plate when they were already clearing our table. I felt this was very rude but didn't want to complaint. We were immediately presented with the dessert menu and we decided to leave without trying them, probably they would have arrived with a timer set for 3 minutes. Although the food was delicious, the ceviches were a very small, the pastel de choclo was excellent, the tacos were ok and the octopus lacked flavour (only one piece with lots of veggies around). The star of the night was the pisco but the wine not so good. So, for 2 tinny ceviches, 2 pastel de choclo, 2 small tacos, an octopus plate, 3 pisco sour and one glass of rubbish wine: £168.00. Complete rip off. Also, the service is included 12% and they still ask you if you would like to add more when you are paying with your card.

The Chef's recommendation was incredible and the staff were lovely to allow us to swap out a few dishes.

Great place for tapas and cocktails. The bar tender made some excellent cocktails just right for us. Food was great with very decent veggie options which are often hard to find with this cuisine. Staff were great and attentive. Overall we had a great time and would definitely come back! We will also be telling our friends about this great find! Thank you!

Celebrated a birthday there. Booking was easy and restaurant decor amazing. Food was excellent, hot and quick. Staff knowledge was amazing. Ceviche was probably best we have had in a long time. Pork ribs were to die for. Lomo Saltado was lovely too and the highlight was the pollo a la brasa. If you love Peruvian food and don’t want the high price of Lima Fitzrovia then try this place. You will not be disappointed.

Stumbled upon Lima a year ago on a visit to London and had been dreaming about their pisco sours ever since! I can say after a year that it held up to the recollection! Highly recommend!

Not traditional Peruvian food, without Peruvian taste and overpriced. Absolutely disappointing.

Great food - very interesting Peruvian fusion style. Staff are friendly and efficient. I am lactose intolerant and they were very helpful on advising me on my options. Only complaint is that it would be good to have a vegan/dairy free desert option other than sorbet.

A warm welcome, fast friendly service, good food.

I went to the place excited to eat ceviche and other Peruvian dishes. The waitress didn't know how to explain the dishes and what ingredients they had and told me that foreign people go there and they only eat and don't ask questions, however at the other table there was a family of Peruvians that when they asked her about the picarones she didn't know how to explain. I have experience of working as a hostess in hotels and restaurants and there are always clients who ask you, not all of them, but then it is a lack of professionalism on her part by not learning the menu. The waitress evaded any questions and told me it wasn't new. Since it has a Peruvian name, people who know about Peruvian food will always go there. Regarding the ceviche I give it 5/10 and regarding the rice with seafood 8/10, I usually visit Peruvian restaurants and this restaurant seemed like the price was high. Would go again ? Maybe just because it's in London but the staff doesn't know anything about Peruvian food.

A great location, friendly staff, and wonderful food.

The ceviche was incredible, my favourite thing of the whole meal. The mushroom stew was lacking in flavour but the chicken was enjoyable and well seasoned.

I am always excited to visit Peruvian places, which are authentic but most importantly I recognize a fresh Ceviche and a good Pisco Sour when I try it and this place did not disappoint me, I will definitely return.

We planned to go for some Asian food when we passed by Lima Cantina. It was just two of us and we ordered 8 entrees (tapas style) to try as many different things as possible. My absolute favorites were the "El Ceviche", "Tuna Tiradito", "Baked Beef Empanadas", "Caufa Rice" and the Broccoli. We also had the "Beef Tartar Causa", the "Pollo Tacos" and the "Pork Belly Bao". They were also good dishes. Staff was very helpful, as it was our first time trying Peruvian food. We had a bottle of the Panul Merlot to go with it, which was a good match with the spicy and sour flavours from the dishes. Anytime again, that was a great dining experience.

I recently visited Lima Cantina Restaurant and had an amazing experience. The atmosphere was colorful and lively, making it a great place to enjoy a meal. Nicolo and his team provided excellent hospitality, making us feel very welcome and well taken care of. Overall, Lima Cantina is a fantastic spot for delicious Peruvian food, vibrant atmosphere, and friendly service. Highly recommenced!

We visited last week. Was mind blowing experience, authentic Peruvian restaurant in the heart of Covent Garden. The ceviche and the tartare were incredible, the octopus flavourful and tender. And the Pisco Sour…no words, just delicious.

Great location, excellent service and the food exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend the roast chicken and octopus. Both were exceptional dishes and having looked at the food being consumed on other tables I will need to return to try more of the menu :)

This is my second visit to Lima Cantina and I am still a fan. We were made to feel very welcome, the restaurant is very cosy, I felt like I was anywhere but in the middle of a busy city. The food was delicious and very well presented. It wasn't a busy lunch which contributed to a nice quiet environment. The attention of service was just nice. I will definitely visit again.

One of the best restaurants in London. Peruvian food is nowadays everywhere, but this place provides the best quality. The service was also amazing, really nice people despite we had the dinner quite late (considering London standards)

We visited on a Monday night pre theatre from 6-7pm. Service was very attentive and nice decor. Sadly the food left much to be desired. The menu was confused - guacamole, tacos, corn cake - these are Mexican. The starters were alright - nothing dazzling but tasty. Besides the ceviche (it was alright) and the pollo asado (we didn't have this) nothing else really screamed Peru, or Lima. The mains (we had the chef selection - lomo and octopus) weren't what we hoped for. The octopus was served on mushy curried potatoes (so random) which we tasted but didn't eat and the lomo, which came with white rice, tasted Chinese - not bad but definitely not Peruvian (a cuisine we know well as we have visited Peru and have family members from there). All for a hefty bill of £140 (one pisco sour each). Sadly we will not be returning nor recommending this restaurant.

Great Peruvian inspired food. Great presentation, lovely service.

Innovative menu. Everything was flavoured very well and nicely presented. I loved the corn cake and the fried dough dessert very much. The ensalada looked like something I could throw together at home so not impressed with it however the passionfruit dressing was tasty

Outstanding gem of a restaurant in a not so crowded and quiet street of Covent Gardens, with superb food and service!!!

Friend and I booked here on recommendation of my daughter. Not disappointed. Staff lovely, helpful but not in your face. Food good , we followed recommendations of our server. We had the lovely bread, 2 starters and shared a main which was ideal for us but others might want more. We booked for 2pm and staff happy to let us sit and chat. So relaxed.

Cheerful and helpful waiting staff . Explained easily what dishes were and served us quickly and efficiently. It was fun to try new and different food and the margaritas were excellent !

Went for lunch on a Saturday and had an amazing meal. We tried the salmon ceviche: outstanding The beef empanadas: amazing The grilled lettuce and burratta : out of this world The hummus with plantain chips was really original Then we went for the beef lomo saltado: outstanding The chicken with a basket of potatoes is their signature dish and is one of the best chickens in London , spit roasted with some herbs and delicious sauces The peruvian paella although a bit spicy of course was delicious as was their octopus dish For desserts we tried the chocolate mousse which was superb and the donuts with syrup and ice cream. An amazing experience, wonderful food and outstanding service!!! Gotta come back…

Such a fabulous little spot amongst the hustle and bustle of Covent Garden. Food is wonderful, lovely atmosphere and great service.

This was the first visit to LIMA Cantina. The decor is nice and the service was friendly and welcoming. I had hoped for a great experience - However, the food experience was rather disappointing sadly. Considering the highly priced menu, we expected something special. While Ceviche was good and fresh, Pork Belly Bao was less than mediocre. Small pork belly was very dry with no fresh taste at all. The menu says it comes with Daikon, but we found only a few 1mm white strings with no taste sprinkled on top of bao.. These two small bao cost £15. Street bao could be much tastier and fresher. Chicken was tender, but potato didn't taste fresh, and emitted a smell of highly processed oil. £28 Paella was ok with prawn and squid being fresh enough, but somehow lacked flavour. Picarones dessert, which was recommend by the waitress, was three small very oily fried donuts with no freshness, which I couldn't even finish. Overall, the dishes were mediocre at best. Given the high prices with relatively small portions, especially under the name of LIMA, we had hoped for much more special and fresher food. I have to say it's a disappointment.

No flavour. It was the hardest octopus I have ever tried to eat and it was £27! No changing unit for baby and the bill didn’t reflect the quality.

Nice to be back at Lima Cantina after our vist a few months back. The location, room and decoration all participated again in an enjoyable moment. Food-wise, the Peruvian style cuisine and its flavours transform a meal into a real feast. We started our dinner with the tuna tiradito and sea bream ceviche. Both were well balanced, with a good anount of acidity, freshness and spices. We then could not help have the braised chicken, which is the house specialty: very well cooked, mellow, juicy, with the right amount of spices as well to enjoy all the flavours. One chunk was a little overcooked to us but it did not alter our dinner. As we wanted to taste something different, we opted for 1/2 portion and chose the octopus. This was clearly one mark below: nothing to say about the octopus cooking and seasoning, but the “potato bed” below was too heavy and made the dish a bit too rustic. Something lighter with more acidity would have been welcome. The fried potatoes with the chicken were dar better!! (Also disappointing: the “watery” broccolis). Great margaritas (without sugar) to sip all along our dinner. We did not have the chance to get like last time one of the lovely tables by the window (ours was actually pretty small). Overall: c. £160. Not cheap but clearly worth a visit (we’ll try to outside terrace on summer days).

Loved the starters ambience and service. The mains were still good but definitely winning on the ceviches and traditional dishes!

Very tasty food and excellent cocktails. However, sipping your cocktail while eating your main dish is not the best way to enjoy the former. Cocktails and food were served almost simultaneously. And there was no place on the table to put everything. Still we enjoyed the experience and we'll sure be back.

Quite charming place with friendly staff and excellent service. By speaking about food, starters were amazing, while main courses in terms of quality were a litlle bit bellow that level (e.g octopus was quite tough).

A very well run and hospitable restaurant showcasing the culinary excellence of Peru. The staff were very friendly, proactive and responsive, warm and welcoming, and great at dealing with an allergy sufferer (egg and nuts). The bar staff made brilliant pisco sours, the food was awesome, cannot recommend enough. I will be returning!

Pollo a la brasa was very tasty and with the original Peruvian flavours. Highly recommend it. Ceviche and other starters were also very good! Unfortunately the pisco cocktails did not taste like the original recipe. But food was amazing!

Just love it! El Ceviche and beef tacos are highly recommended. Pisco Sour is outstanding! The only thing that I would not recommend would be Paloma cocktail. Otherwise all is perfect!

First time going, incredible food, really friendly service. Was a great experience, will be back for sure. Only downside is that it is definitely on the expensive side, with adequate yet on the smaller side portions.

Recurring customer but left this time a little bit disappointed. We had the starters (pork belly boa buns and empanadas) which were good as always. The mains were a bit of let down. The steak and the chicken were average at the best and just didn't taste as fresh and juicy as one would expect.
