Lily's at Eden in Trafford

Booked for a family 60th Birthday. The birthday girl was in an electric wheelchair. The staff did everything possible to make it a memorable day. We had afternoon tea and the food was fresh and delicious. There was so much food we were given boxes to take the extra home with us. I would definitely go here again. The atmosphere was great.

Worse food ever, everything comes out of jar …. Avoid at all cost … Nothing fresh all stale …. Manager not helpful at all

Went in today and had to ask for table to be cleared, miserable member of staff cleared it but didn't wipe it clean, ordered 3 coffee's but only received 2, didn't even get the order correct on the 2 that we received, mixed one with the other, very small cups, but not so small price's, staff not very friendly, first and last time I will go on there

Regular visitors to lilys, must say standards are really beginning to slip😡 went today 2 bacon barns one with a poached egg on, bacon hardly cooked and only lukewarm and the poached egg was like a bullet used to be gorgeous things definitely going downhill.

Went for a breakfast today Friday would highly recommend Lilly’s of Eden friendly and food tasty and presented well would highly recommend a visit.

Visited for lunch. Very sticky tables & grubby menus , staff brushing around tables while customers sitting there but no sign of them wiping them! Food OK though my 'eggs royale' had no hollandaise sauce!!!

A pleasant friendly cafe. Quite lively and interesting. Offers a variety of hot and cold light meals and snacks. Serves hot and cold drinks also alcohol. The homemade hot scone was delicious and the hot choc nice. Does offer afternoon teas and private parties .

Waited 30 mins for a tea cake and a cappuccino. Not good enough for a fiver. Simple as that. . Nothing more.

I love this place. The atmosphere is lovely. Even when its mad busy its relaxing. The staff never rush you. The food Is fabulous. Cooked to order and always lovely . The paninis and jacket potatoes are always hot and tasty. It's nice to go in along e and just relax. With friends its great. It my " go to place " . I always highly recommend.

Turned up as 2 paying adults with our 3 year old little girl. Our little girl had her own sandwich to eat as the menu had nothing she would have wanted. We were choosing what what to order ( 2 adult meals and drinks) and it was not busy at the time. We were interrupted by a member of staff loudly calling to us from over the counter saying “the owner we would not appreciate this” repeatedly. This caused huge embarrassment as it was loud enough to attract the attention of all staff and other customers. We realised he was referring to our 3 year old girl quietly eating her sandwich brought in from outside. Whilst I realise this is not necessarily ideal, we believe this to be a huge overreaction and wildly unnecessary as it caused 2 paying adults to walk out immediately. I’m sure other families with young children would agree. For the sake of letting a young child quietly eat her sandwich this outburst cost the owner business that day and the value of any future visits as we will never return. I’m sure this is more likely something the owner would not appreciate. Stuck up and rude, families don’t bother. Would be zero stars if I could.

Recently ordered a felafel wrap at Lily's and was presented with a disgusting-looking mash of ingredients in a pitta, which looked nauseating. Staff suggested I complain to the owners as they were unable to refund my meal. The owners did not respond. Poor food and poor customer service.

We went there around 1pm a few tables were empty outside, we were more than happy to wait for the tables to be cleared and sanitised. It took 10 minutes for a member to actually decide to finally come out and clear the unused tables. We got to our table and got told it’s table service only. We were ready to order and let a member of staff know, he walked off and took orders from tables that arrived AFTER us and was more interested in a table adjacent to us who’d already had their order taken and wanted multiple changes after their order had gone in or extra items. I appreciate it’s busy, but we were left 15 minutes and our order still hadn’t been taken! Ended up at Bevano Lounge, much nicer with better staff!!

Visited today for the first time since February when we are normally very regular customers. Food was as good as it always is and staff were excellent. Have to say though this is one of the most covid aware places we have visited and it felt really clean and safe. Well done to the owners and team for this and we will be back with friends as soon as we are allowed to meet up with people outside of our household in Manchester. Thanks a lot.

Visited for brunch with friends. Felt very Covid safe, details taken for track and trace, sanitation station, tables sanitised and social distancing in place. Great menu selection,lovely environment, food was served quickly and arrived hot. Polite and attentive staff and great value for money. Will definitely visit again when in Urmston.

Booked in advance for Afternoon Tea for lunch 1.30. We were left waiting at the table for an hour & had to ask twice if it would be much longer as we had young children with us who hadn't eaten. It was very busy inside & there were far too many people as all tables were full & there wasn't sufficient distancing of 1m between some of the tables.There were people outside queuing to get in also.Staff were busy rushing about but were nice & polite.Had to ask for a highchair & clean it ourselves as it was dirty & the girl who gave it us didn't even wipe it.Afternoon tea was basic & definitely not worth the £13.95pp.We got a choice of tea but this was limited to 1 small pot that made 2 small cupfulls so if you wanted more tea you'd have to pay extra.There were 6 small finger sandwiches, mini cakes were cakes you'd buy in a box in a supermarket & quite dry & tasteless. 1 mini red velvet cake,1 small macaroon & a small plastic pot with mousse in.1 fruit scone/1 cherry scone these were ok but definitely hadn't been made fresh that day as they were very dry & tasteless also. Disappointed that the scones came with the jam/cream already on them so you couldn't put it on yourself.Not good if you don't want jam/cream or don't like it.It is traditional with other Afternoon teas I've had where you get a small pot of jam/cream & put it on yourself.The children's Afternoon tea consisted of a small dish with approx 6-8 pom bears in probably half a standard pack if that.4 triangle sandwiches with far too much margarine on tht tasted awful.1 cherry scone with jam/cream, one mi bannoffee pie, a Thorntons chocolate lolly & some marshmallows/sweets on a cocktail stick definitely nowhere near worth the hefty price of £8.95pp.Really disappointed with the Afternoon tea at this cafe & will definitely not be returning

Impressed with the constant cleaning of tables & chairs/chair arms - felt very safe. The food is always delicious, this time we had a sausage sandwich and a smoked salmon & cream cheese bagel both were delicious! Already looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely staff, and really lovely lunch grub! We arrived for lunch at around 12 without booking, and we were lucky enough to get a table for two easily. I always get the jacket potato, which is overall really nice. I thought the tables were quite uncomfortably close for the current times, and unfortunately there was a very rude woman sat next to us speaking very loudly on the phone for the whole time we were in there, also speaking in ear shot about other people in the cafe too. Unfortunately my jacket potato was slightly cold on that particular day, but after waiting a while for someone to take our plates to let them know (around 15mins) we simply just left. I would still come again, as I do love the location and food at the little cafe.

Not delivered on time and when I phoned and enquired about my food they were clearly not bothered about lateness after charging £2.95 for delivery. Won't use home delivery again!

Just been in to get a treat, the old woman who served behind the counter was very rude and nasty for no reason. Food wasn't worth what I paid for it and it's a shame as we need to stick with small businesses right now. Will not be returning.

The only drawback is that sometimes there is a wait to be seated but it is worth waiting for. The choice of food, drink and cakes is mouth-watering and the staff are always friendly and attentive. A lovely way to while away a morning or afternoon.

Took my elderly parents for their Christmas present for afternoon tea. It was beautiful. They were so happy with it. The service was great - can't fault it at all. The sandwiches were really tasty and fresh, as were the cakes. They gave us boxes to take away the couple of cakes that were left too. Would definitely recommend.

An amazing evening at a great wine bar. Went with a group for a family gathering before the Christmas madness. It was a fantastic evening. The staff were amazing and the drinks were great. I was on the amazing draft Peroni but the Gin and Tonics were very much enjoyed. The staff made a great night and I cannot wait to come back.Thanks to all there for a great night

maybe it was an off day im not sure but came for lunch with my sister. Its a little overpriced and way too hot inside but what has knocked the score is an older lady behind the counter who I just found to be quite rude, not at all approachable, the food took ages coming out and it was just minimal filling and all bread. I really hope this improves as its a lovely place

Lovely little place with great drinks and food. We love coming here a lot better than the costa across the road. I do wish they were quicker at taking orders however but this doesn’t dampen the service, lovely people, lovely place.

Family and friends 18th party Lily's went above and beyond to make sure that our event was a success, nothing was a problem,the quality of the food was excellent and with the singer created a fantastic atmosphere ,we were so happy we chose Lily's

First time visit.... what a lovely atmosphere! Staff friendly and helpful. Spotlessly clean toilets. There is a Costa opposite.....not in the same league. X

Went to Urmston for a spot of shopping, decided last minute to pop for lunch. What a lovely friendly place, the salad was crisp, the chicken was not processed and very moist. The staff were very friendly. Highly recommend if you want good quality food at an affordable price.

My friend brought me to this cafe for a snack on Sunday and I was impressed. Nice airy light space. Quick prompt service. Good food, good helpings. Pleasant surroundings. Very clean. Would DEFINATELY visit agsin

Lily’s is a great cafe in the centre of Urmston and although it is large for a cafe, it can’t accommodate the amount of pushchair for their customers babies. They could really do with a buggy park as some staff were falling over them as they were blocking so many paths. The staff were all friendly and polite apart from the manager who seemed a bit too serious and to busy to be working on the counter, she could learn a thing or two from her own staff. Despite a couple of grumbles the cakes were delicious and it was nice to have coke in a glass bottle for a fancier feeling.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch here. Jacket potato was very tasty and the sandwich also. Good value for money and nice atmosphere. Will return

I’ve been going to Lily’s for ten years and never had a problem! I’m only writing the review because of the way the owner treated me.

Had lunch there today. Tend to go every 3 or 4 weeks on a Saturday. Staff are always great and food is always of a high standard (though the hollandaise is a bit on the thin side. Love the fact they do all day breakfast items.

This place is always really busy. Service is good and you can make amendments to what a on the menu. My daughter and I had lunch there during half term. She likes her bagel and babychino, although £1.50 is a bit steep when costa do it for free, it's just a bit of steamed milk? My tuna and cheese panini was okay but why was there no mayo? It was nice enough albeit dry. There's plenty on the menu to choose from and we will probably go back to test some of the lovely cakes on display.

Can't fault the place or the staff. Booked the afternoon tea for my friends baby shower today. The food was lovely and plenty of it, however, the staff are what made it brilliant. They were so accommodating and friendly and helped everything run smoothly for the 21 of us. So attentive making sure we were topped up with tea and drinks at all times. Would recommend without a doubt!! Thank you!!!

We always come here for our coffee when in Urmston. really good coffee which is served with a biscuit . The food always looks good and has a good selection and variety. You can just have a hot drink or glass of wine. lovely and clean with good cheerful service to the table.

Haven't been here in years and it's even better than I remember. It's much more than a coffee shop. The selection of food is really good and the cakes are delicious. They are now offering wine tasting evenings.

My partner and her grandaughter were in there for some lunch today and again we were made to feel like we were doing them a favour by being there ,the food is well overpriced and mediocre at best,some of the staff are arrogant at best,gotta remember your in urmston not hale barns.my final tip is go to bevano more child friendly and not pretentious.

We visit Lily's on a regular basis and usually happy with our visit. Lady Saturday we called in for lunch found the manager quite rude and dismissive. Think the quality of the food and service has gone down and the prices have gone up. Shame as we used to enjoy our times there. Will be going over the square to Costa next time

Visited Lily’s at Eden yesterday for Afternoon Tea with my Mum and 2 daughters. Would highly recommend. Lovely relaxing atmosphere and service top-notch. So good we didn’t need the boxes they offered to take any home!! Looking forward to our next visit.

First time visit today and very impressed. We arrived about 2.30 and the place was packed but we still found a table. My Mum ordered a ‘simple sandwich’ - which was presented beautifully with a salad garnish. Good amount of ham filling. I’m vegetarian but had lots of options and settled on a jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw. This was also nicely served with coleslaw in a wooden dish and salad.

Me and my hubby popped in to Lily’s for a hot chocolate to warm us up on a cold day today. It was so relaxing in there, and it was lovely to see people happy and chilling out. The hot chocolate was delicious, it was so tasty. Far nicer than what you can get nearby.

Had an impromptu cake and drinks visit on valentines evening, really nice relaxed atmosphere. Not our usual choice be will definitely be back.

We went with three friends, ordered coffees and egg benedict. Both came quickly and both were as expected. A well decored cafe for a quick bite or a brew.

Staff are always very friendly and helpful. 3 out if the 4 of us had the Mile high Club sandwich and were not disappointed. Very filling and absolutely gorgeous. Would recommend any day of the week....

Just had a fantastic evening at Lily's for our private Birthday function. They really made us feel special and everyone was fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. The buffet was superb and received many compliments from our guests. Given our experience I'm sure they'll go from success to success.

Me and my wife came in for a coffee after we had done some shopping. We were spoken by the manager very abrupt as we only wanted coffee. He said that he had to prepare for a private party that was booked for an hour ahead. It seemed that he did not want our custom as we did not want to order any food. The way he spoke to my wife was shocking. In future we will be having coffee else where. The manager needs to have a refresher course on customer care.

Been here a few times now. It's fine for a Sunday morning coffee but I thought it was a bit expensive for lunch for the family (for Urmston). It's clean and well presented but I'd rather have a bag of chips from Charlie's and sit on the bench outside personally.

Arrived late afternoon for a reasonably priced glass of fizz and sandwich. When we ordered our second fizz we were offered champagne at the same price! Stayed for coffee which was well made.The menu is simple but delicious. The clientele was mixed from families to business people.Relaxed and comfortable surroundings.

This place is a joke a chimp could run it better the owner treats the staff like bits of meat over priced and not a lot for it and to top that off she is always slagging customers off after they have left avoid here go round the Conner for much better service at a better price you would be better of drinking rat poison than what they sell

My husband and I have visited Lilys a couple of times since it opened I have visited more often with friends and we have found it a pleasant experience.A couple of weeks ago whilst out shopping we called in for a sandwich at lunch time, there were no tables available but the staff asked how long we would be and gave us a reserved table so long as we were finished before 2.00pm which we were as we had an appointment ourselves at that time.We both had a straight white coffee, I had a tuna sandwich on rye bread with a salad garnish and crisps my husband had roast beef on ciabatta again with a salad garnish and coleslaw. Both were excellent and tasty, my sandwich must have had a full tin of tuna on it we were both satisfied by the quantity and flavours.I cannot recall the cost but it was reasonable otherwise we would have commented on it.We have had a light breakfast here in the past and again had nothing but praise for the food and the service on offer.

I stopped for a bite to eat as I had missed lunch, the service was very quick and the staff polite and chatty. Let's start with the coffee, when I ordered I was asked if I would like single or double shot of coffee and then if I would like it in a cup or a mug. Now this always make me extremely happy, I love strong coffee and always prefer it in a mug (delicate cups are for tea) I was not let down, a great mug of strong coffee = perfection..I ordered a bacon and cheese panini and it was well presented was a small side salad and coleslaw (I'm a salad dodger) but I actually enjoyed it!!!I would definitely use Lily's again

Expensive for amount of food received. On average 3 slices of bread made into approx 6 small finger sandwiches and 6 small cakes/trifle.All food was of excellent quality and very yummy. Table set with tablecloth, china cup and saucers and tea pot. Endless amounts of tea. Although only 1 type of tea offered. All food came on lovely display stand with decorative lettuce on sandwiches.Left overs can be taken home.Felt rather on display as was seated right in the middle of the cafe, plenty of seats so would have been courteous to have been asked where we wanted to sit.Downside was the rude owner, not particularly welcoming and rather brusque.

The best coffee in urmston by far! Friendly staff, clean & modern interior and a great place for coffee to go or with a little more time sit in / outside with no pressure to hurry up and move on. Food is great too. Definitely worth visiting here over the other coffee shops in the area!!

Been going in for years since it opened, great decor, atmosphere, range of great food and drink, and service, and great to see a privately owned family cafe bar doing well, there seems to be too many of the same chains selling the same poor value for money food, with poor service these days, so well done Lily's owners in creating just what Urmston centre needed.

Easily the best place for breakfast or lunch in Urmston. The food is great and they serve Illy coffee, which I love. Don't miss their salads or scrambled eggs.

This has been here pretty much since the redevelopment of the shopping area and it's great.An independent cafe with a great selection of snacks, meals and drinks. Always popular but with plenty of room.

Roast beef ciabata and mozzarella, tomato and pesto panini with coffee and smoothie. Nothing exceptional but presented well, tasted good and lovely environment.

Been here twice now for a coffee. First time me and a friend ordered a latte each and waited 15 mins. The coffee was ok. I went in again with my wife and ordered the same a few weeks later. This time a 20 min wait and lukewarm coffee, not worth the wait or price.

I go into Lily's regularly as I live nearby and it's a nice stop off when I have finished my shopping. It is a bit pricey but I'd rather give my money to a local business than costa. However I went in on Saturday mid afternoon and it was all fine as usual until the older black male who work on the till (and makes it clear he does not like anyone esp children at all but that's fine) took a junior member of staff over to the customer side of the counter and proceeded to give him a public bollocking for not looking busy, there were 10 customer all with their order so I'm not sure what he was expected to do. Which seemed entirely unnecessary for the member of staff (in my opinion that sort of public humiliation is deliberate bullying) but it also made the other dinners feel uncomfortable. If staff need speaking to this should be done in a private and professional manner. The member of staff in question is a nice lad and always serves us with a smile which is more than can be said for his superior!

Visited on my day off whilst visiting the area,Ordered the bacon butty, which was ok, nothing special, American style bacon but a bit overdone, almost tasted like it was reheated and the bread was just a simple muffin, I always think that cafes like this should make the effort to add that little bit of something extra, crusty roll or baguette option... the menu stated sauce but the woman on the till was really quick to tell me you do that yourself... not that its difficult, but just so bloody abrupt at telling you.Coffee was a bonus as they use illy coffee, nice to see a cafe do LARGE flat whites... all In all it was £6 something for a bacon sandwich and coffee.Cake and desserts are a let down... the cakes are all from Costco which to me is a real shame, offering wholesome food should involve either local produce or handmade in house...Plus the staff bringing in produce in Costco bags was also a bit of a giveaway...Nice little venue for a coffee and catchup, but a lot better eateries in the area.

Went to Lilly's last Thursday with my hubby. Had the hot chocolate and pecan pie. Wow, amazing, makes a change to go somewhere and the hot chocolate actually tastes of chocolate. Delicious and the pecan pie-perfect.

Visited as a large group for afternoon tea. Place nicely decorated. Very busy and a feeling of being enclosed with no space to move. Personally I felt it was overpriced. The bread isn't home baked it's just a branded loaf you can buy go the shop. For £13 six small finger sandwiches a cup of tea ( any other drink was extra.) and mini cakes which are allegedly Costco bought. Service was lacking . None attentive staff who we had to get attention of to ask for anything. Manners and smiles were present but just lacking quality customer service especially at the prices they charge. Probably wouldn't visit again if I'm honest unless I was meeting a friend in the area for a coffee as a convenient meeting spot.

Love this place its got a great vibe about it. Fab scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. Superb service everytime. Tables are a little small but then that could be the volume of food ordered! Try the smoothies they are delish.

Just too big and too busy and too noisy.I much preferred the old Lilly's, this new one is trying to compete with the chains, like the near-by Costa.I wish they hadn't and had kept to being small and quaint. I still go to the old Lilly's (as we call it), much nicer.Can't recommend to be honest.

Dropped in at Lily's to see if we could get an special afternoon tea (forgot to book)before we flew of to the Balearics.We were willing to wait while and eventually were seated in our favourite place.Food was scrumptious, beautifully presented, plentiful, china tea cups etc.Service was brilliant and nothing seemed too much trouble.Thanks Manager and staff at Lily's.

This is a very nice place inside, everything is clean, modern, fresh and there are some great choices on the menu. The staff clearly take their job very seriously which is always a good thing but other hand they take are very slow, like things done their own way (or the way they are trained) and struggle to adapt to any requests that are away from their rather rigid routine. Value for money isn't bad, we may visit again but must remember how they like things done.

Often pop into Lily's for either a quick coffee with friends or breakfast which is always yummy and we'll presented.Afternoon tea was devine...everything was beautifully made and tasted delicious! I occasionally pop in on a Friday afternoon with my Nan for a bit of lunch and a natter. I have always had lovely food in here and the milkshakes are to die for! The staff have always been very friendly. The only negative is the tables are much too closely packed so more often than not people are being bumped into while they eat or enjoy a coffee. Still wouldn't stop me visiting!

I come here often for a breakfast treat. Although it is quite pricey it is definitely worth it staff are friendly and the food is lovely. The decor is 40's chic style and the music they play is very relaxing.
