Lovely pub. I visit here a lot, the staff are all lovely & nothing is too much trouble, the assistant manager Daniel is amazing & always goes above & beyond to make sure everyone is happy with everything. Food is always lovely & responsibly priced, they have different offers on for each day of the week. Plenty of parking & a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Highly recommends.

We come for a drink outside sometimes when it's a nice day, the play area isn't the best for the kids especiallythe smaller kids, we'd definitely come more if it was improved.

I had not visited here for quite a few years and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was well prepared and served attractively with care. The prices are great value especially the beer prices which is cheaper than many other pubs in the area. A great friendly atmosphere which was made so much better by locals who made you feel very welcome. The Moorfield is definitely worth a visit if you want something more than just a gloomy soulless room.

Great pub but don't know why the sale hotel changed its name to an eye hospital. Duh.

Starting to see some really change at the Moorfield over the last couple of weeks. Much improved. Heard it will be opening as a new type/style of pub. If the new improvements in service is anything to go off, could be exciting times.

I went there almost 4/5 times. Always they told me its only drinks available, no food. Understaff excuse. Give 0 star for food. I have a habit without snacks, I don't drink. So dont recommend to those who eat snacks with drinks. It's only a drinks pub.

Not impressed. 4 people behind the bar and yet no-one bothered to serve me, even when I was the only one stood there at one point. Hence why I chose to go elsewhere for my food and drink.

Awful, food was terrible, ordered a curry they brought it out with no rice just added chips didn't bother to let me choose something else. Seriously under staffed taking a long time to do anything.

Had a lovely meal last night, as a group of 9, we were out to celebrate my daughter’s 12th birthday. All the staff were lovely, notably Tom! He served our food and made sure to let us know at each step that he would be bringing out some more food and checking if anyone needed anything before he left. Carolyn took our food order, she checked for allergies before taking any orders and was very patient with the changes that needed making on a few of the meals. When we arrived, we left a cake behind the bar. Before Carolyn carried it over, Tom, very subtly came to let us know to get ready! We were offered plates and a knife and a box to take the rest home if needed. Theresa served us for drinks throughout the evening, she was efficient and polite. The food was delicious and well presented! It all came out within 5 minutes of the first 2 dishes being served and with zero mistakes, or no extra’s forgotten! So thank you to Harvey and Johny! As I was leaving as asked to take down the names of the staff that were working as it was clear they could have done with a few extra sets of hands, but we didn’t feel the strain of them being clearly short staffed on a busy Friday evening! Thank you all for working so hard, so that we could enjoy our evening!

Really disappointed with how this pub has gone down hill! Used to love coming here in 2016/2017 the burgers were great and was busy every evening. Now, it’s clearly had a change of management as service is -very- slow. Decided to get a dessert as I was only down the road on a Sunday evening with 10 other people around the bar so mad quiet, placed the order just before 7 (last orders 7:45pm) and they told us after an hour that they closed early? Had to get a refund on my food! Every time I visit I give them the benefit of the doubt and wonder if it’s a one off but sadly it’s every time. Will be sad if it closes but won’t be surprised.

Good for sitting outside on a sunny day mid week and excellent for watching football as loads of screens. Great prices on wine. I recommend buying the bottle, not just a few glasses. In again today, packed, Friday night, enough said.

Today was my first time dining at this restaurant. On a Saturday evening, it seemed a bit understaffed. I had attempted to book a table through their website, which showed it was fully booked until 7:30PM. However, when I called the restaurant directly, I was able to make a reservation. I suspect they might have shown full availability online due to limited staff. The male staff members were very polite, but I felt that one of the female staff, who appeared a bit heavier, seemed somewhat impatient when I was ordering. The food was decent, nothing extraordinary but satisfactory. This experience left me with mixed feelings about the restaurant. The disparity between the online booking system and the actual availability was puzzling, and the varying levels of service from the staff members were noticeable. While the food met basic expectations, the overall dining experience could have been enhanced with more consistent customer service.

Awful awful awful. Under staffed (appeared to be just one waiting on staff). We weren't told about items not on the menu until we ordered them. My wife's lasagna was over cooked, I got a small hunters chicken and not a large, even though the waiter was adamant it was correct. Then it took 15 minutes to be served two bowls of ice cream for the children. We ended up sending them back and going to get a McFlurry on the way home.

Usually no food or limited menu. Staff are really good without a landlord Beer is cheap as chips

Having read some of the reviews i thought I’d give here a try and it did not disappoint. The whole staff are so friendly and welcoming it really made a difference. I would definitely come again and recommend to other people.

Held our family get together this week at the Moorfield, good food and great atmosphere. Will be booking again for next year. We had a buffet for 50 people.

Went to celebrate a birthday. Reserved table for 8 for a birthday breakfast at 12. Phoned and asked if breakfast was on the menu I was told yes. Arrived and ordered 8 alday breakfasts to be told no eggs or mushrooms. The service was atrocious the food was disgusting 6 out of 8 got food over the first hour 2 got food after everyone else had finished. Wasn't busy so can't put it down to being over run with orders. Spoiled our Christmas eve birthday breakfast. Definitely won't be going back and really wouldn't recommend.

Amazing service and great quality food

We arrived at 6.30pm yesterday to walk in to all the tables dirty and piled with empty plates and glasses, and we should have walked out then. It took 15 minutes for us to get our drinks, and we were told there was no red wine, not even in the cellar. It took over an hour for only three of seven of our meals to arrive, for a 13 year old’s chicken korma, that looked like water, to have a layer of skin on top, similar to when milk has been left out all day. It also looked like half a portion. My mum ordered the “jalcrazy” which looked like dog food and the bowl wasn’t even half full! It was stuck to the sides of the bowl and it was obvious it had been left out; it was also cold. Another meal was steak and chips, where the steak AND chips were both freezing cold. We were told that they were short-staffed. We asked for the manager, who as at home, and were met with the acting manager, who, to be fair, seemed lovely, but it did take thirty minutes for us to get our refund. We got there at 6.30pm and still hadn’t eaten by 8.30, and we had four underaged children with us. My mum (one of three adults) is a diabetic and as she had to wait for 2 hours, had a hypoglycaemic episode, where she was severely ill from that point and we nearly took her to a hospital as a result. She is still ill today. We had just come from a family member’s funeral, too, and we really wanted a nice meal out, but instead, we were disgusted with what we were given. We didn’t get a refund for our drinks, but did get a refund for our food, as we spent £80 at a disgrace like this. The food is abysmal and I would advise everyone to steer clear if they don’t want food poisoning and frozen food.

Not been to the moorfield for a while and was pleasantly surprised. New manager in there Matt was lovely and friendly. Food was good, nice atmosphere and really clean. Good all rounder.

The Moorfield have made our Spanish U3A group very welcome in their function room for some time now and today did us proud with our Christmas meal. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and we had lovely window seats at round tables which were perfect for a proper social event. Buen provecho y Feliz Navidad a todos! 🎄✨🎄

Decided to eat here recently, was pretty quiet when we sat down, ordered no issues. However after nearly an hours wait the food finally arrived and was so disappointing. My sons mixed grill was completely inedible, dried out and over cooked. Same for my gammon, dry and almost solid, and all of it was luke warm. We made the staff aware and they offered a refund, which we accepted. Other people were complaining, and another table just left their whole meals and walked out. We were told they had staff problems. The member of staff we spoke to was very polite and didnt hesitate to offer our refund as he could see for himslef the food wasnt good.

Awkward atmosphere when you enter the pub. Uncleared and dirty tables. Food looked like it had been thrown onto the plate and not pleasant. Couldn't wait to get out. Will not return.

Food was good. Understaffed, one lady was like 'super'woman, doing bar plus extra jobs. The tables had prior customers plates on them, had to get bar lady to clear the table we wanted. Tables around also were a mess and attracted flies. Been in previously years ago and it was ok. If I am having food I want it to be clean. Think some of the staff need speeding up or processes looked at. Seemed mainly only one person trying to do everything. Where is the support. As it is, do not reccomend. Visited Aug23.

Took advantage of the feed the family offer. They were all out of steak pie and fish and chips, so went for the chicken, chips and onion rings (2). Inedible is the only way it could be described. Total waste of money. Shan’t be returning.

I’ve just had to wait 45 minutes for a burger and chips. 45 minutes. When the food finally came I was told the wait was because there was only one chef. Maybe tell that to customers before you take their orders

Absolutely loved my visit to the moorfield, my waitress Danielle was super nice and attentive. 10/10 would recommend.

The food was tasty, came quickly and was good value. They have improved lots since our last visit, good to see.

Disgusting food taste like the veg was microwaved and the beef wouldn't serve it to my dog then getting slagged off by the staff in the back saying it looks like she's eaten it requested my money back for the desserts and left very unprofessional

Had roast beef. Beef not from joint. Frozen veg. not good. Sent food back as meat not hot. I was really ill the day after I ate at your restaurant. And 2 days later still feel unwell. So was the person I was with. Looking at your reviews I think you need to take my complaint seriously rather than sending a weak standard reply.

Firstly half the menu was unavailable. Then when the food they did have arrived it was awful, sharing platters with items missing them mains were disgusting. Burgers with cold chips, chicken dinner with solid Yorkshire pudding dry veg and over cooked chicken that you couldn't cut with a knife and a steak and ale pie with a crust that came with a dental appointment. Absolutely awful place I wouldn't recommend.

This is my third visit. Everytime they ran out of dish I wanted. The person at the till was so tired. She looked not interested in taking my order and the expressions she was giving made me feel horrible. It seems she is extremely tired and I am there to increase her work load. The waitress who served our order was the same. No interest in greeting. She literally threw the order on the table and left in a hurry. I am not going to this pub ever again. Very disappointed

Both starters unavailable, chicken roast dinner unavailable,beef roast dinner chosen as alternative,quite simply the worst roast beef dinner I have eaten, Yorkshire pudding was hard and cold,beef was tough to cut,cold and looked re hashed, vegetables were cooked from frozen but not properly prepared,gravy cold,quite simply unacceptable,my wife and I simply walked out, obviously pub under manned, poorly trained and overwhelmed by a busy day, anniversary dinner was completely ruined😡

Waited nearly 2 hours for our food, which was then given to another table near us, then had to wait a further 20 mins for this to be rectified! The burger wasn't cooked & still pink inside, chips were stone cold, hence to say we went home hungry! Will not be going back!

Most of the food on Manu was not available. Ran out of Ales on tap, some larger brands also not available. Use to be good, gone down hill. I don't recommend.

Barely anyone in the restaurant when we arrived. We waited nearly an hour for our food while watching others that came in after get their food. Unacceptable in my opinion, orders shoud be brought out as they are taken in chronological order. Not how convenient they are to serve. When the food came out it was barely hot. Toast was hard as a rock. We had 2 family members come in 15 minutes after us to eat at a seperate table. They got their food order in and were served promptly. They had dessert and left before we even got our main meal brought out.

the quadzilla is amazing, finished it in 20 mins and it was good staf and in a very nice area/building

Love this pub, new to the area but came in and have been made to feel so welcome and this is now my new local, lovely food, friendly staff especially, Jeanette the manager, Tracy, jess, tee, Amy matt and Aj are all friendly and welcoming can't fault the place

Made communication with the staff here earlier on in the week to make arrangements for a coach load of customers. Excellent communication and discussion with regards to getting the orders ready whilst on the coach and then handing them straight in on arrival. The promptness at getting the food out was excellent and efficient. Staff were welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Thanks to all the team!

What lovely food. Very nice/friendly staff who came to chat with us and make sure our food was ok for us. I would definitely visit again. The toilets were clean and smelt fresh love the full length mirror on the door it makes the bathroom appear bigger than it is and the best bit is the ladies toilets are met 1st before the men's which means we don't have to walk as far 😀.

Went today for lunch ordered 2 mixed grills a 12oz steak meal and drinks. Total price just over £50 the mixed grills were shocking, all the meat was not far off warm and one of the steaks smelt awful like it had been sat on a side for 2 days! The pepper sauce was all lumpy and nearly cold and the gammon looked anaemic. Only nice thing was the frozen chips and peas rest was shocking. When the waitress took our plates I told her about the smelly steak and all we got was "I'll let them know" no apology nothing. The drink I had was served in a dirty glass which when I asked for a new one was offered a cleaner glass and had to pour my old drink into the said cleaner glass. Shocking when we spent over £50 on food and drinks. I've been coming here for years and never had a problem but will never return even if it was free! Absolutely shocking.

Its a lovely atmosphere, the food is exotic, cant ever visit without getting hungry whilst waiting for our food since the food looks so nice whilst we impatiently and wistfully watch tables being served, must say I can only give it 4 stars since in the photos below, you will see a friendly feline companion that visits most nights and I hate to watch it getting kicked out, it was chilling on our table the whole time yearning for scratches between the ears! Overall I love coming here!

Rubbish, place was empty but told there were no tables free as they had been reserved. No one had arrived at time the tables were reserved for or for over half an jour after but staff wouldn't let anyone be seated. Will not go back here. They obviously don't want any custom.

Popped in here for food whilst staying at Manchester Airport, it was incredibly busy and noisy, wait time for food was 1 hour from ordering which wasn't ideal. Staff seemed very miserable and unhelpful. Food was average wouldn't return.

As only just living around the corner from this place it’s been handy for somewhere to take the kids and grab something to eat, the food went down hill a few years ago but has gradually improved until now Had to send food back for either being cold or uncooked. Management is also more entertaining to the lemo crowd at the end of the bar than us trying to a family meal then being asked to leave because we have kids My patience has run out with this place Get someone to run this place properly or close it down You’ve just lost more customers

Waited an hour and 15 minutes for starters, it wasn’t a busy day and they didn’t communicate a wait to us. Mains followed 10 minutes later. Medium rare came well done, sent back for the 2nd attempt came and it came back medium well if I’m being generous. We don’t expect amazing food from pubs but this was way below average. First and last visit

Popped in Sunday with the kids for a quick bite to eat, food good, service good, nice and clean etc. Avoided last year due to early closing, food not on menu, no chef etc .. great to see who’s running it now has that attention to detail that’s required to get the pub full again 👏👏
