We stopped for breakfast and found this cafe on trip advisor. It was ten minutes off the motorway, opened by 9am, and in a beautiful spot looking over a cricket green. Very friendly family run business. So much nicer than a service station, I am sure we will be back!

Great location overlooking the cricket pitch, been here several times before. Although I would say in today’s visit Starbucks prices at a village pavilion, would expect a bit more for the money. Slow service for a coffee and a cake.

Our family have visited Nel's on a few occasions recently and each time it has been just what we needed! With a toddler in tow, the 'Wee ones' breakfast is perfect because you can choose items to suit. Little plastic plates and mini cutlery is lovely - makes it really feel family-friendly. We enjoy a good breakfast, fresh coffee and there's a very tempting cake counter! The welcome is warm and the service has been nice and quick which is all appreciated.

Been going here since it opened, gone downhill in the past few months, food is mediocre; cheap sausages and bread. Staff have been rude at times. Today’s visit saw someone hand the waitress a bag of dog poo, to which she took it inside to put in the kitchen bin where food is being cooked!

Held my daughter 5th birthday party at the Lighthorne Pavilion Cafe due to the space and beautiful interior of the cafe, the effort the staff and owner went to was overwhelming, the food for both the kids and the adults was superb and would rival most good restaurants I've been too. I cant recommend this venue enough, the staff where friendly and always on hand to assist with any requests. If you have a party or wish to visit for some lunch I would strongly recommend you stop by and pay them all a visit. Special thanks to Ben, Lucy and the other staff members for giving us all such a memorable day.

We are not from the local area and were looking for a cafe for breakfast before a day of sight seeing. We stopped here and were very impressed. The venue is very clean, pretty and well organised. Hand sanitizer is available on every table. Drinks and food were delivered quickly and were very fresh and hot. Fried eggs were hard and I prefer them runny but the breakfast was tasty. Toilets are well sign posted and are very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Menu looks limited but you can tweak it to make it suit you. A pleasant breakfast enjoyed by all.

Finally found the time to go for breakfast. Arrived just before 10 am with partner in tow. Total number of customers was 3 including us.5 staff behind the counter.. waited and waited and waited. Obviously not table service so I went to the counter and ordered and still no rush to take an order.Food ok.. not great.. breakfast sausage had every indication that it had been lurking in the oven since 8am and my eggs... scrambled I thought were fool proof.. sadly ,silky creamy wonders they were not.instead underwhipped overcooked.Thank you for the offer to remake ..I didn't accept and yes I did pay for the ones that had an identity crisis even though I didnt eat them. The biggest tip is improving services. We should have been offered drinks as soon as our bums hit the seat...very likely we would ( had we been served more efficiently) had 2 drinks each during our visit..drinks are very profitable so you are missing some real basics on easy profit. The eggs.... go back to school.

Having a number of family friends staying we decided to have breakfast at Lighthorne Cafe. As we were a party of eight I was slightly concerned that with a range of breakfast orders it was going to be difficult to get correct and to serve on time. Should never have been worried as the service was fast, accurate and so friendly. Food was hot and plentiful and very tasty. We had eight clean plates at the end and with two rounds of teas and coffees, what a great way to spend a Saturday morning.

This Cafe is a little hidden gem. If you didn't know it was there, you would be unlikely to stumble across it. That said, if you're looking for a bite to eat 'Far from the madding crowd' this is the place. Myself and a number of my colleagues have been using this venue for group breakfast meetings for quite a while and the staff are yet to fail to deliver. We turn up in a group numbering between 10 and 20 without prior notice and receive a prompt and quality service. The breakfasts are to die for and are fantastic value for money. My advice to anyone looking for a quiet breakfast in a lovely location is - Go for it. Whoever came up with the concept of turning a cricket pavilion into a restaurant is a genius!!

It is a hidden gem that you can only find by chance or because someone knows the place. You also need to make sure that you book in advance, as it is likely to be packed, as it was the morning that we went. The Deluxe Breakfast, for those who dared, was amazing. You could see that the products were very fresh, probably taken straight from the farm. And the size of the portion was huge. Coffee was also good. We were 4 adults and a toddler, who also had a sausage roll, and the bill was 40 pounds. Really cheap! Very good!

Heading north on the M40, we fancied a good cooked breakfast but didn’t fancy the normal motorway stops, so after a quick search we found the Lighthorne Pavilion Cafe. Just a 10 minute diversion from our route brought us to this warm and cosy cricket pavilion, which serves great food and is run by very friendly people. It's one thing having very slow service and some parties not having their breakfasts served in the right order, i.e. fist come first served, but other issues were more serious, like dirty cutlery- both sets of knives and forks had food on from some previous meal, wrong coffee served for first cup we drank, but it was ok. Toast was only half toasted and made with stale bread, and second cup of coffee was well stewed.

Prices are very reasonable and lunchtime menu looks very tempting. Definitely do that nother time. A real gem! The additional shop is good to look round and has local produce and gifts, all well priced.

What a great find. I was travelling up from Heathrow early morning and fancied a nice breakfast. I turned to trip advisor and found this absolute gem. A quick look at the map shows as only 5 mins off the motorway at the Gaydon junction.

We called in to this cafe on a Saturday afternoon when the local cricket team were playing a match. Although the cafe was busy, it was not overcrowded and we easily found a table. Ben, a very handsome and helpful guy who appears to be in charge of the cafe, explain the range of specials and other sandwiches and meals on offer, and we place an order quickly at the counter. Unfortunately however, that was the only quick thing about our visit to this otherwise excellent cafe. Ben explained that it would probably take around half an hour for the food to arrive, but in fact it took nearly twice that. There appeared to be a simple explanation for this, a shortage of staff.

Kept seeing this pop up on Facebook and finally decided to pay a visit. I was not disappointed - cosy decor, friendly staff and great food. I will be back!

Had lunch there having been told about it by a friend. Not a huge menu but enough choice for everyone to find something. Food was freshly cooked and nicely presented. Quirky decor and nice little shop area. Really good service and good value. It was very busy the day we were there so word is obviously spreading. Will be good in the better weather as there is some outside seating on the deck.

They did not change prices of some grand crus from Burgundy ! Wine is passion and this place is showing such a remarkable selection of fine winemakers, with the love of the owner and its team ... I've visited this museum house with my EFL students (mainly European) in the past. It was always a good experience. The 17-century building was always comfortable. The students learnt about Shakespeare's daughter, the important ' health work' that her husband did and their difficult lives. The tour guides were always knowledgeable (and kind to my students). The garden was beautiful. When convenient we had lunch in the cafe - the service was always very good and the food was always delicious.

The drinks are fine , cakes are fine and the venue is fine but sweet Lord the server a middle aged lady with glasses and greying hair is abrupt and unfriendly to the point of rudeness. Think Basil Fawlty on a bad day. If you don't want to be pleasant get a different job. To be fair we are normally served by someone quite nice.

After experiencing the cafe on one of their club nights, myself and my husband were completely sold with Talton Mill Cafe as the venue for our wedding party. Fran and Liz headed the venue and their input was impeccable. Everything we loved about the place was brought to our day - a cosy vibe, relaxed, beautiful, and delicious! Everything on the menu was homemade and worked perfectly with the environment. Fran and Liz listened to our ideas and needs for the day and delivered. The weather wasn’t bad either!
