The quality of the food is right up there. The chicken Rogan josh was perfect. The spice blend was sublime. The veg bhuna my partner had was the best she had in years. Along with the mushroom pilau rice. Samosa full and spicy. And naan bread was spot on. Totally recommend a visit if in the area. Thanks to all staff for making our visit a delight

unusual to have bass on the menu. It was great. Good size portions, well cooked and nicely presented. Will be back soon. Good value for money

They say that looks can be deceiving and in this case, it's very true. It just doesn't look like your typical Indian restaurant- well not the ones that I'm used to anyway. Its not all fancy with all the trimmings of the Taj mahal, but instead it's a pretty cool place and the the decor is more that of a Rasta type Internet cafe, which is both different, refreshing and nice. This place can get fairly busy at times, so best to book a table so your not disappointed, it among the best eating places in the area. Friendly staff, chilled atmosphere and a handy location. But the best of all is the food, full of taste and so rewarding with every mouthful and such a good workout for your taste buds Lovely 👍

The best Indian food we have had in a very long time. Excellent quality and fantastic home made taste. So far away from the pub-microwave Indian food you get everywhere.

Worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant. Very terrible behaviour, far from the flavour of real Indian meals, and definitely not an India restaurant 😢. The boss of the restaurant is arrogant and lacks manners. Forced us to order depending on the amount of people and made us order more; when we indicated we didn't need more, the server commented that the Boss would not allow us to order less and that there is no return policy on the menu or anywhere in the restaurant. Disgusting food with the name of Indian delicacies. Run by non-Indians, with a disrespectful boss. The curries are just a tomato purée and add boiled vegetables for which you should pay extra. Not worth/Waste of money if you’re planning to eat at this restaurant.

OMG! Such a bad experience first time ever. Looks like they want to avoid Indians inside the hotel. We can easily notice the way they behave. They don’t encourage if we want to order less food even if we are not hungry, their rule is I think each person to order some item. The order taking staff always wanted to confirm from her boss whether to continue with order or ask us to move out just because we ordered less. There is ONLY 0% HOSPITALITY SEEN. After 1 hour of wait, we had to go and complain to have food at our table. The food was pathetic, it had same taste for all 3 curries we ordered…THE SAME ONION TOMATO SAUCE for all 3 curries. There is a curry price and in addition to that if we want that to be veggie curry, pay £4 for the slices for tomato, capsicum and tomatoes, if we want it to be chicken, then may be pay £5+, same goes for lamb and so on. THOUGH THIS CONCEPT WAS BIT ODD ESPECIALLY FOR THIS TASTE Finally, the hand washing bowl with a tissue called as INDIAN MARSHMELLOW(Wet Tissues) which wasn’t given to us wherein this has been given to the localities. The way they treat differently is so obvious. Just to let the team know that you are making business in the name of Indian restaurant but it is no way near to it…please stop that arrogant behaviour and SHOW SOME PROFESSIONALISM

Poor quality food, far away of the taste of original Indian dishes😢. Arrogant and manner less staff on the floor. Lied that reserved seats and offered to sit at chosen place, cold chapaties, cold curries. Forced us to have beer, when I said we don't drink beer then the waiter commented you are fussy eater. Then spoke to his colleague and laughed. Every dish ordered he was telling us their policy. But they never mentioned on the door or when entered to read their policy. Disgusting food in name of Indian dishes. Run by nonindians and disrespectful staff. Of course, extremely expensive. Any how they will add prices to their dishes. Bill will ne given as per their choices of prices that all dishes in menu are not mentioned if mentioned then different prices. Means illustrated staff. No reasonable adjustment for disabile. Avoid to go there to avoid disappointment.

I have been to this restaurant 4 times in the last 2yrs and I live 110 miles away. I drive up to sample this amazing food. I have nor eaten at a Indian restaurant where the food is so tasty, full of vibrance fantastically cooked and in so much abundance. The staff are always pleasant and it is a quick service. I will revisit again in the Summer. Looking forward to beautiful food. 5 stars

Having been here twice before we were looking forward to this visit, booked in for 7pm and eventually got the food at 8pm. I'll try elsewhere on my next visit to Aberystwyth.

We hadn’t got a booking and they managed to get us a table for 2. Because they were so busy we had to wait an hour for our food which I was getting very impatient with but the food and service are lovely.

Delicious food, polite and fast service. Happily served a large group of 30 at very short notice from the menu. Everything was delicious and good value.

DO NOT EAT FROM HERE. I fell sick after eating their tasteless, bland, red, oily food. The curries had mostly oil and red colouring in them. Forget about anything else, their dishes didn’t even had salt in them. THIS IS NOT INDIAN FOOD. The food is not edible and cannot be eaten by any living specie on this planet, let alone humans. Wastage of money and they are looting. FAKE GOOGLE REVIEWS. Expensive

They claim to be serving Indian food but it is far from being so. You are spoiling the name of Indian food. I don’t know who is cooking your Indian food but whoever that is you must fire that person with immediate effect because that chef doesn’t know anything about Indian food. Biryani was some fried rice with no salt, all vegetables are pathetic. Vegetable was sweet and tasted pathetic. My sincere request is just one that please don’t claim that you are serving Indian food. You don’t have any idea what Indian food tastes like.

Took my Indian wife here as she needed a taste of home. She was absolutely thrilled with how authentic it was. Says alot to me about how good it must be. I enjoyed mine too....

Service is extremely bad. We asked for drinks and waited 15 minutes.We waited for over an hour for our mains and the waiter was quite rude, sneery and unhelpful. For example he rolled his eyes often and acted as if us asking to order the drinks after ordering the meal was ridiculous. It was also expensive for what we got. The curry (balti) was entirely vegetable and no sauce. Poppadoms tasted like prawn crackers and arrived late. Overall was not great, would not recommend.

Amazing food, lovely friendly staff great portions and fair prices

Nice food but weak customer service at the table. It was busy but the waiter was more inclined to argue about a 40 minute wait between starter and main course than apologise for the delay. The manager was helpful but I shan't be going back.

Very friendly staff and sat down straight away, however we had to wait for over an hour for our starter to come. The staff were very apologetic and offered a free drink each but as a driver I could not have one. Starters were very nice when they arrived. The main course was a bit bland, I ordered a jalfrezi which usually has a good heat to it this one was bland. My partners vegan chickpea curry was also very bland. The rice and naan were nice. Overall had a long wait and some dishes very bland.

Got the wrong food. Prices are awful 😞😡. Wouldn't recommend.

Me and my friends have been coming here since the end of the 70s, although management has changed over the years the food has always and still is of a very good quality , the staff also have , over the years been helpful and polite . If you want a meal here be sure to book well in advance especially if it's for the weekend. Keep up the good work 👏

You will be disappointed if you're used to eating proper curry and you'll be better off buying ready curry from supermarkets. We travelled all the way from London for a weekend camping and ended up in the place since some people on the group wanted wanted curry. I found this place through Google and its reviews We ordered 2 chicken vindalo. If you don't know how to make it, just say so. Don't give us rubbish that was purely dark red in colour and not even 1 single green chilli was put into the dish. The chilli powder that was used tasted like chemical and wasn't even dissolved but in lumps. Disgusting and couldn’t be eaten so it went straight into the bin. What an over hpye and the average review of this place does not do any justice to how rubbish, tasteless and disgusting it is. 0 stars for the vindaloo and 1 start for the rice

Very poor service. The waiter even before greeting us refused a table saying our reservation was not confirmed. This was before he bothered to ask whose name it was in,or how big our group was. I showed him the reservation confirmation and then got seated at a table amidst a lot of confusion. Our order was taken 10 minutes later and our food was brought 40 minutes later. The food was average - Dal was ok, but the veg karhai could be any gravy with a lot of artificial colouring. Would not recommend unless you have no other option.

I went there with my friends for a meal after a long day. Once we sat on table we were asked by another member of the staff why we are here. Very rude of them. The food was horrible, with no ingredients written so we had to go with luck for dishes. In the end £18 was added to the receipt for unknown charges. Not recommended, rude management, horrible food.

Oh my…this was everything. Food, atmosphere, service, price. Top notch. We had the Rogan Josh curry cooked to our liking (very very mild), and one of the chef’s specials - the sea bass which was packed with flavour and very satisfying. The only slight note is it takes a while but that’s because they prepare everything on demand and it’s fresh. So have a drink while you wait, immerse yourself in the space and you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend!

Been here on two occasions. Staff run around frantically with walkie talkies, mix up orders, bicker with each other in front of customers. I had waited over an hour for food both times. They evidently prioritize deliveries. Place just looks and feels like a glorified takeaway. Food is decent though and at a good price.

Great food but food is generally late to the table/take away takes quite a while.

When we reached the restaurant, the waiter told us that you don't have reservations and you can't sit on that particular table, however when a family of 3 came after 10 minutes and they also didn't have reservations and they also asked that particular table, then that particular table got available, because the waiter thought that they would spend more. Till that time only 2 tables were occupied and that family was the third table, the rest of the restaurant was empty. I am from India and thought that lets explore indian cuisine in aberyswith. We literally walked 2 miles in cold for the experience, but it was not worth it. All the Food was made in the same tomato based gravy and the main waiter was overconfident,but not courtues. The overall experience was bad, mainly due to table incidents. I know we didn't have a booking, so we were ready to sit on any table and eventually we sat, which was offered, but we had a British guest with us and he also pointed out the same thing that the waiter is treating us differently and denied that particular table, this is how Indian restaurants treat people in India.

Worst Indian restaurant I've ever been to. Not only was the food rubbish, but we were also overcharged, when I returned to notify them of the mistake, they flatelly refused to reimburse the overcharged amount, despite one of their own staff admitting that there had been a mistake!! Having used my card at this establishment I also got my bank contacting me about a potential fraud attempt. So be careful.

I am an Indian , I give everyone this assurance that ,whatever food has been served in this restaurant is not indian (except the names of dishes) And I went with 2 of my friends ,as I insisted them ,to have some indian food, but everything went worst , as they felt unwelcome. When we entered only 1 table was occupied and few were reserved , so were sat on unreserved table , that was ok , I can understand this thing as we also work in a hotel/restaurant. But what we saw after sometime 10-15 min later ,that a family came in, they asked the server that they wanted to sit on a particular reserved table, and I was shocked he didn't deny to them. Really pathetic experience.

Really its not an indian recipe. All tastes same. But there was a Srilankan guy. He was very rude and misbehaved. He dont know English. Secondly, it will take too long to get food. Believe me too much time.

Great staff and very helpful when we were ordering as I think we were going to order way too much. Very tasty food and plenty for us to try different dishes and still have some left over which we took home. Not too busy for a Friday night either although recommend booking in advance.

Worst restaurant. Misleading google reviews took us to this place. 1) Service : Not fit to be in hospitality industry. Rude staff and also racial. If they don’t have the capacity to run a restaurant, they should shut it down instead of spoiling dinning experience. I haven’t come across any “waiter” till now my entire life scream at customer/s for asking to take order. Felt really awkward. Next, we order how much we can eat. Here we were forced to order another main dish just to meet their quote in the name of supporting small business to offer service. 2) Food : Not fresh. Not hygienic. Not healthy. Not Asian. No taste. If a chef doesn’t know on how to use food colour, the restaurant is a “flop”. Not sure how they managed to get “license” to run a restaurant when basics aren’t in place. I just couldn’t eat anything. Felt guilty over the amount of food that went into bin. 3) Ambience : Heaters not working. We were seated near door entrance and the chill wind rushed in each time the door opened. We choose a restaurant to keep us warm and cosy but here we ended up freezing. They had space to accommodate customers in a better seating area, however they declined saying they have shortage of staff. Comfort of customer/s isn’t important for them. We are from sub tropics and it was more than just comfort for us. Shortage of staff is ok but drying wet plates before serving us isn’t. And the tea towels used by them to dry looked “yuck”. We family members ended up in argument if we should continue dinning here. If I was dinning solo, I could have left this place instantly. This place ruined our wonderful experience leaving bitterness in us. We got stuck with this place as they mention “Indian food” and we had to continue. 4) Price: Overpriced. They have kept prices on menu look reasonable but when the food arrives, we felt looted. 5) Reviews: Not sure if the “reviews” about this place are genuine on google. Anyone having common sense will never rate them above 1. There is nothing Asian and Indian about the food. Name of the restaurant is misleading like the google reviews. Avoid.

I went with my husband for an evening meal a couple of days ago. What a find. The service was very good, the food well presented and very tasty. Thoroughly recommend it.

We are not from the area so we just opted for the nearest to our hotel. Absolutely faultless, the ambiance, service and food was outstanding. Highly recommended.

Phoned up to book a table for 7pm told there was no availability till 8:30pm or 9:30pm. Said we'd go and order for take away. While waiting for food the phone rang and someone asked for a table booking at 7:30 which their reply was 7 would be better..... 👎. Got takeout back home and food was awful and really expensive. Very bland and taste less, to the extent I did a Covid test to make sure I hadn't lost my sense of taste. Poppadoms were burnt too, all round bad experience. Needless to say will will not be returning and will stick with Borth tandoori.

Not for me sorry . Flat large coke no ice 3.00. Poppadoms 2 quid each no pickle . Just onions. Mint sauce and mango . Served in posh dish on slate trays ffs . Nothing Indian about it . Main wasn't bad tasting but spice level for a vindaloo was lacking badly . Mrs main was cold . Table was filthy and sticky i rubbed the sticky part with a napkin pure dirt see photo. Mains are well over priced lacking in quality lacking in service. Just not a good experience all round . Lampeter has a far better curry house at half the price .

A hidden gem in Aberystwyth. Arrived on a Wednesday evening. Looking for a table for one - was no problem and was shown to a table swiftly and efficiently. Waiter from Birmingham had a good approach and was very open to helping accommodate my enquiries for some minor 'off-menu' indulgences. I settled into a Kingfisher in anticipation. Food came within a reasonable length of time. This was the revelation. Portion sizes were generous. Very. Food was presented fresh and hot. Tip: if you like lentils, the Tarka Dahl here is some of the best I've had, and that includes some very swanky London Indian restaurants that just don't or can't get it quite right. The food far exceeded my expectations and the service was excellent. Prices more than reasonable. Recommended. 👌

Slightly disappointed, I used to visit this restaurant many years ago and the food used to be delicious but this time the korma was just full of sugar and the peshwari naan was dry and burnt.

We had soggy chips,soggy Naan bread,the Korma & the rice were cold.We had to microwave them.The food is normally lovely but was too cold on this occasion

This is absolutely pathetic place to have Indian food. If you are thinking that you are eating Indian food here, sorry but you are wrong. As an Indian origin person, I can tell you this is not Indian food. There is absolutely no taste, just a food colour to try to give a texture to the curry. I was visiting Wales & everything is amazing except this place. We decided to pickup the food from this place after seeing good review here, but the staff hand over the wrong order to us 🤦‍♂️ Stay away from this place 🙏

Ordered food for delivery after waiting 90 min after delivery time was told been a mix up and for will be with me in time min, 30 min later went up to Indian restaurant was closed, staff said was binned because cold and didn't even bother to phone me, had to ask for a refund because they didn't even bother to refund me or apologise

New ownership and refurbished since the last time I went here with my mates. It's been updated but from my perspective not really improved, service was slow as they seemed to prioritize takeaway orders. The old style wooden tables and chairs with traditional table clothes have been replaced with brightly coloured plastic which are not to my taste but that's just me. The food was ok but not amazing, nothing terrible about the place just not really for me.

Masala curry was too sweet and pink. French fries not chips. Otherwise nice food.
