Alis Tandoori in Ceredigion

Over an hour from order to pick up, fairly highly priced and very friendly, helpful staff gave me high hopes for this takeaway, unfortunately the food was not up to my expectations.Portion size definitely on the small size, especially the kids Tesco specials, soggy chicken burger and nugget meals. You should definitely not hope for restaurant quality food for these two options.Sauces in our 3 curry dishes were very runny and although they all tasted good they were fairly low on flavour.We only had a 3 minute drive back to the house from picking up but some of the food was already cold, the naans were small, thin in the middle and stone cold and soggy round the edges.The chicken in the meals was a bit dry and again pretty average.Rice dishes all tasted good, though the special Biriyani was missing the omelette that was promised and the onions in the egg fried rice were decidedly slimey.Even if it was cheap I still could not forgive cold food. Need less to say I won’t be spending a days wages for a family treat in this takeaway again. Will get a much better meal from the Chinese, chip shop or kebab house within Cardigan.

My wife and two daughters visit West Wales every year and have found Ali's to be the go to Indian takeaway whenever we are in the area. The menu is wide enough to suit all tastes, the food is ample (can normally get two meals out of each order), and tasty. Nothing pretentious about the place but never fails to provide a satisfying meal after a long day walking coastal paths.

Just had a take away from Ali's for the first time. We had previously tried Abdul's and was really disappointed. Having done our homework, we gave Ali's a try.Chicken chat: unusual. More like a mild curry. Nice but not a chat Chicken garlic balti: no veg or onions. Sauce ok but disappointed.Chicken chilli tikka masala: more like a korma with a couple of chilli's. Quite greasy.Chicken dansak: oily and lack of lentils. Not sweet or sour enough.All curries were quite bland and oily. Plenty of nicely cooked chicken but no veg or substance. Hence, cartons only two thirds full. Really disappointed and won't be coming back despite being a curry lover. Would ra to her save and cook my own.

This Indian only offers take-away. Always a friendly and polite service and have used it many times over the years. Food of good quality. Only minor gripe is v often state "cash only" stating card machine not working and on occasions a long wait between order and pick up but this reflects their popularity.

We had a chicken pathia, chicken tikka masala (comfortingly NOT bright red) and a lamb bhuna. All were delicious, especially the Bhuna which i asked to be prepared 'mild' - it was the perfect level of spice while retaining all the flavour. Sides were excellent too. Would definitely eat here again!

Terrible. Don't know where the chicken was in the chicken curry. Maybe like 4 small pieces in something paid almost £8 for. Rice was undercooked. I can't believe how bad this place was. Would never go back. And recommending all friends and family to avoid also.

A good value Indian takeaway with a wide menu to choose from. I have been on a number of occasions and always get a friendly service and the food in my experience has been prepared promptly and is reasonably priced.

We used to come here regular but moved abit away but whent back for anniversary and as always, the tastiest food, the homemade naans are out off this world keep up the hard work be back soon

Very nice Indian take away. Ordered and took around 45 minutes to cook, had a few beers in that time down the road. Very good service from the young lady behind counter. Food was not greasy as it is at some places, good amount of spice in Bhuna and masala. Lamb really lean and soft. Gave us 3/5 popadoms free as spent over £30. The only thing missing was you have to pay for dips etc for your popadoms which we didn’t know and should get I feel free inclusive of the 60p per popadom price.

Ordered a large takeaway on our last night on holiday in Cardigan and having looked around for other places that delivered this seemed to be the only one. That being said the food was great, the staff taking the order were professional and the delivery driver very friendly despite our holiday cottage being a bit hard to find. Upon arrival all of the food was piping hot and very tasty. Portion sizes were also very generous and the price was more than reasonable. If it wasn’t 200 odd miles away this would definitely be my local Indian takeaway.

Service was friendly and fast and all of us really enjoyed our meals, no one had anything negative to say!

Visited a second time this week as we enjoyed it so much.Efficient polite service.Food takes 35-40 minutes even when not at peak times. Well worth the wait - maybe as more cooked to order than your average takeaway.Very flavoursome food at a good price.

Ordered 3 meals. Returned home to find one dish missing, called again and went back for missing dish, but in the meantime noticed that half of the other dish was missing so had to go collect for the third time!! By the time I got home the meal was cold.

Picked up dinner as we arrived late to Cardigan.Balti chicken was ace, madras was a bit ‘let’s chuck in a load of chilli powder’ but on the whole, better than the other Indian offerings in the area. They cook it pretty quickly even if you’re a walk-in.

Service was excellent treated very politely, food was ready quickly and packaging was good and strong. The meal was really tasty and very good size portions.

Myself and a couple of friends decided to order an Indian takeaway for delivery to enjoy whilst we had a catch up. Once we called we were told that there would be a wait of an hour and a half, this in itself didn’t impress us much but we decided to go ahead with the order as we usually enjoy the food!

Only 7 small pieces of lamb in a £5 korma. Not good. Soggy in the middle poppadom and enimic chips. Sorry. But not worth a fiver in total. Not the best tenner I have waisted.tbf

I regularly call here for my takeaways. They offer a deal on kebabs which are delicious and great value.They also do lovely curries! The staff are helpful and well presented and the food is lovely!! Well done!

Tasty food delivered to the door. Tandoori king prawns were fantastic as was the biryani and all the other little extras. If you're holidaying in the area, definitely worth a look. The menu is online

En los pedidos, nos dijeron que nuestra comida para llevar estaría lista en 45 minutos. Volvimos en ese tiempo, pero tuvimos que esperar más de 45 minutos y esto fue para la comida! ! ! Todo fue cuesta abajo desde allí. El pan nan tenía que ser cortado con una motosierra, el bahji estaba en comestible. Sin duda, la peor comida jamás.

Un salto en llevar durante unas vacaciones en la zona. Todo listo para el momento de la reserva y también celebró en cortesía poppadoms, que era un toque agradable. La comida era muy sabrosa y bien preparada.

Stale and greasy tasting doner meat but onion bhajis and naan bread gorgeous chips tasted dry but for indian didnt expect the kebabs to be too good

This is my first review on TripAdvisor and I seriously doubt I'll ever write a more positive one. I love Indian food and have eaten at countless Indian restaurants over the years. This place makes the best curry I have ever eaten. I particularly enjoy the chicken tikka jalfrezi, the balance of flavours and ingredients are absolutely perfect. The staff are also lovely. Just keep in mind this is a takeaway restaurant only, you can't have a sit-down meal, which is a shame as the food is amazing. I will be coming back again and again... and again.

The food from this takeaway is fantastic, we have tried lots of different dishes and wears always very impressed. Ali and staff are very friendly and are always happy to accommodate individual needs, highly recommend takeaway.

Every takeaway from here has been perfect. Quicker to collect than wait for delivery unless you order early.

We have been having take a ways from Ali's for years and have never been disappointed. The menu is extensive and the food is delicious - authentically spiced and exciting, The service is great - always friendly and ready to pick up when ordered by phone. After trying other Indian take a ways and restaurants we would always return to Ali's - it is simply the very best.

Although Ali's is situated off the Main Street don't be fooled by looks. The food is superb, plentiful and reasonably priced. Super clean and freshly prepared with authentic spices. Our family is made up of curry addicts and fussy eaters but this is one of the best take aways I've ever eaten and everyone loves it. It out shines the local restaurants we have eaten in. Love it, roll on next visit.

This was my husband's treat. And it truly was a treat!They only do take-away, as it is a small place, but what a place!We had lots on the menu, as didn't know what to choose, It all smelt unbelievably good. Wish we could have tried everything on the menu....Service was efficient and friendly.Food took a little time to prepare, as was made to order, but that is actually much better, than having it heated up in a microwave, and whisked out in a couple of minutes. This was all fresh, and all of it was absolutely lovely. Especially the mix of yoghurt, spices, herbs, and coconut in the sauces, gorgeous ! It took us a few days to finish it all, but we enjoyed every spoonful of it.Will definitely return when in the area. Can recommend !

Small, Indian takeaway (only) in Finch Square, Cardigan.Well presented shop and staff with excellent choice of usual range of curries and spiced dishes.Food is very good which coupled with a fast, polite service is well worth a visit.
