How pleasant this restaurant is, the staff are truly amazing. All very friendly. Every meal was cooked to perfection...would like to have stayed longer..I frequently use premier inn/beefeater across the UK..this is now one of my favourite ones..

Great food and great service! Sheetal was great making sure we had food and drinks and everything was all good. Service was quick, no complaints! So kind and friendly mad us feel so welcome and comfortable. I came for my birthday and received a birthday card and box of malteasers - unexpected but a bonus!

Hadn't booked but was met with a friendly greeting and given a table. Food was lovely, the ribs fell off the bone and the brownie for desert was gorgeous and even better there was vegan icecream. Our server was Sheetal and she was friendly and attentive even though she was obviously busy but nothing was too much trouble. Outside there is a good amount of parking and also an overflow section if it gets too busy although its easy to walk to from Romford shopping area. We have been to the restaurant a number of times and always left full and happy.

Got seated straight away, given menu's, gave drinks order - had to wait a while for them to be delivered, ordered food, waited quite a while for it to appear, we were slightly disappointed with the food, portions cut down, the sausages weren't of great quality, the onion rings looked like they had been reheated and had no taste and 3 out of the 4 fried eggs we were served were hard !! Felt sorry for the staff, they were all trying to do their best and seemed embarrassed by having to serve the food that was coming out from the kitchen. Gemma was upbeat, professional, friendly, and helpful. We did have a voucher that we used and will now only go there if there are offers on !! It's such a shame - that the staff in the 3 Beefeaters that we frequent often have been cut to a bare minimum and generally don't have the time to serve customers as they would like - or they used to !!

I have been coming to the Liberty Bell for years and have always had excellent food. However, today, I was quite disgusted with the portion size. I ordered salmon which came with grilled vegetables and potatoes. The salmon was overcooked and dry. I had one tiny boiled potato cut in half, two thin slices of pepper, two tiny pieces of courgette and one thin piece of asparagus. All for £16.99. I spoke to the waiter who looked a bit embarrassed as he explained that the potato portion went by weight, which did little to explain the paltry serving. Any other restaurant would have apologised and bought another serving of potatoes to keep the customer happy. There wasn't even really an apology. I don't think I will come here again.

Congratulations on having an entire meat-free menu! That's outstanding among the restaurants in Romford and Hornchurch.

Affordable food good service I can recommend for families

Pleasant enough dining here, but felt that service although reasonable wasn't as attentive as could have been even though it seemed quiet when we were there. Staff were friendly, and put up with elderly relative's inappropriate comments.

Bill, the woman you’re referring to is called Jackie. She is the most attentive and positive of bar and restaurant staff in the beefeater. Her customer service skills are exceptional and she is kind to everyone she serves. Your comments are appalling and rude. Very hypocritical of you to call her names but criticise her service.

Just to reference Bill in his one star review, the lady you refer to is called Jackie and she is wonderful. "There is never no-one behind the bar" so there's always someone there? We've been coming here for 20 years, senior management will always screw with staffing levels as they look to cut costs. Everyone who works here works extremely hard covering far more than they should really have to. Bill, drink and eat somewhere else.

Such a lovely place, great service, people are friendly and always helpful, you can see they all help eachother. Incredible team effort, I would recommend their food and drinks. The Men and Women that work here are always nice, always making sure you are welcomed when you step through the door. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

There is never no one behind the bar take 20mins to get anyone to come and serve you every time, and the blonde old girl behind the bar I believe she may be the manager but not sure has the attitude of a starved pig rudest old bat I have ever come across

Really average. Nice enough, but not anything special, even for a steak chain. When there are Harvester and Toby around the corner, probably better off there. Billing is confusing and service mediocre. There is on site parking, but only for 3 hours so they really don't want you to hang around.

Amazing place, staff very helpful (Abby) polite. Restaurant was clean and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Food was amazing, great choice, perfectly cooked. Would 100% recommend. Lovey experience.

Admittedly a Monday but there weren’t enough staff on duty. The bar was left unattended with people waiting. Two of the waiting staff very direct and unfriendly. Food was Beefeater food.

Had lunch here from the varied special lunch time menu and I found the food very good and at a very reasonable cost the beer wasn’t bad either, I had Doom Bar and it was served very well to me, I just hope you experience to same service and quality of food that I did when you visit this place so keep it in mind for a try out if you are in Romford or close to the area!

Food is good, menu the same as any other. Staff are friendly and polite at times, but have no idea of disability awareness no offer of help to people with walking difficulties carrying stuff to breakfast table. And the way they would not let one family sit at a nearer table to save struggling saying no we can't do breakfast at that table it has to be over here. Make an exception for once they would have really appreciated it.

We both Went to the liberty bell for an evening meal, and as always could not have asked for a better evening,the meal I had chargrilled king prawn and vegetable skewers was delicious and the chicken and ribs combo that my partner had was really nice and cooked just right.as always stayed for drinks at the bar we tried 1 of the new drinks on offer the tropical rum with coke and ended up having many more.a big thank you to all the staff who give 100 percent especially steve behind the bar who served us most of the night and kept us entertained nice to have the bar open until late again.see you all again very soon

I was greeted on my arrival to the restaurant by Steph who made me very welcome. I enjoyed a wonderful lunch on Wednesday 3/7, also served by Steph, who was very professional. She was working so hard as it was busy but still found the time to make sure I had everything I wanted. She is very pleasant and polite to all the customers. She deserves a recommendation for all her hard work.

Lovely food and great service Went there with family for my birthday., . The food and service is always good They can’t do enough for you .and staff always do their best to accommodate you . I have been going there for years and have never had any problems .The food menu is very reasonable and with the reward card there are always special offers available It’s has nice atmosphere and you are never rushed . Staff very accommodating both with adult and children . Can highly recommend it it both lunchtime and evening dining . I got treated to a bottle of fizz as it was my birthday, which was a lively gesture. Will be coming back soon .

Service was a bit slow due to only having 2 staff members working. Ordered 4 starters as my meal 3 arrived together last one came once l was done eating which didn't make any sense at all.

I can hardly believe how well everything turned out tonight, especially given the challenging and, frankly, unpleasant individuals who tried to cause trouble.. Despite this, Anna, Abbie, Sheeetal, and Frankie handled these difficult people with remarkable skill. It was a great evening, thanks to their efforts, even when dealing with individuals who seemed more suited to a zoo.

We had a lovely evening meal with friends and family for a birthday celebration. Our server was Sheetal, she was so lovely, really friendly and very efficient. Nothing was too much trouble for her, she is very hard working, serving several tables at the same time, but always smiling and pleasant. She is a real asset to the Liberty Bell, she made our visit very special.

States on the info closes at 2300, closed at 2200 the night I stayed in the Premier inn next door, was still a good few customers in, they just shut up shop, was told had to order food by 2130 and then bar closed at 2200, they couldn't wait for us to leave, disappointing really .

Went there with my elderly in-laws as they had vouchers for discounts. Service was a bit slow, the young server did apologise each time, but it was slow none the less. The crust on my beef and ale pie was very hard and difficult to cut with a knife without it shooting off the plate. The meal was reasonably priced so I suppose you get what you pay for.

Can't comment on the food as the staff, in fact Emmalee the manager, was so rude did not even eat in there. Tables not cleared and generally very untidy. Will not go back again after this experience.

The cocktails were awful, lots of ice and hardly anything else - very disappointed 😞 Steak selection was hit and miss, rump was basically a piece of grisly meat Nobody available to complain 😕 as it was very busy due to the 40% off promotion 🙄 😒

As I often write - the people make the vehue - and here the staff are great! Why? Fickle though I might be but they were really attentative, they kept an eye on all diners so you never had to wait for a response, upon arrival the bar was really usy yet sitll the only lady on the bar greeted everybody and reassured them she'd be with them as soon as she could. Most impressive was that when my food was served the team member made more than the one word lazy throw-away gesture I hear everywhere of "Enjoy". I always think - if you can't form a whole sentence, say nothing. Here I recieved a, "Please enjoy your meal". And for that alone - five stars! Star of the show? Elyes! Absolute champion.

The staff are lovely here and they really nice to us and they got used to us. A very special shout for Steve and welma I see them every morning for when when we come for breakfast. We always greeted with a great morning smile and it was never too much trouble. Also very big thanks to Emily the restaurant Manager. What a lovely lady she is always been helpful and kind to us and most of all she is great in her job and she has a good knowledge of what she is doing. I must say welma is a really good credit for your establishment. She is always working hard and always on the top her job. She even knows our usual breakfast and she always order for us straight away. Overall I am well pleased with everything and nothing to fault. I definitely will be back in the future and this place it becomes my favourite place now and I can't wait to bring my extended family as well.

We ordered prawn cotail which came with a bowl full of dark green lettcue which was bitter and un edible the same with the salad i orded was told this is the same lettcue as normal but this what I alway order I beg to differ when the bill arrived the waitress quite rudley said this is the only lettcue they have and it will be the same on future so maybe she did not want our custome

Had not been to a beefeater for a couple of years as had a bad experience then. Thought it might of changed but no the food was terrible. Steaks cold and under cooked in places. Wrong drinks and dinners brought to table. Desset was a sundae with a small spoon size scoop of ice cream followed by a gap to a quick squirt of cream to hide th void.Value for money was below poor.

Overall good experience here on our visit to the area. A couple of missing items weren't made clear e.g. no halloumi fries (which in other places are battered/crumbed and premade) but not clear that there was no halloumi at all for burgers. Not a major issue just a point I would personally emphasise to customers. Also there was no guacamole for the nachos which was not mentioned at all. For loaded nachos we felt the toppings were sparse.

Firstly, as we arrived we was not greeted and in total was left waiting at the bar for at least 15 minutes. Then we was left waiting to be served for a further 25 minutes! Once are food finally arrived, the Crunch Chicken Burger (which we ordered with no sauce ) was delivered with sauce, this processed to happen 3 times until on the 3rd attempt we received a burger with no sauce. Additionally, the chips were cold and the gammon was extremely chewy and there was grisle in the burger we ordered. Also the salad which came with the meal ( i would hardly call it a salad) was wilted and warm. Finally, the toilet facilities were dirty, blocked and a large puddle on the floor which was due to the taps which overflowed onto the floor, which was extremely unsafe and cause extreme harm. Overall was a very poor experience and do not recommend, spend your money somewhere else.

Easily the best, economical and one of the nicest places in Romford, to be.

This place is unbelievably slow, the food is average, things get forgotten and they’re more concerned about charging you for extras. Apparently they are short staffed but there seems to be plenty of staff working every day. Premier Inn should get a table table in here instead

I am sorry to tell,but food was really not tasty and not fresh. Fries overdone or second time warmed. Salads not fresh, and to be honest with you meat wasn't great too.

Where do I start. I generally love the beefeater chain and visit my local branch in Dartford regularly. Yesterday 12.03.24 was the first time visiting the Romford branch and my god was I disappointment. I have never had it this bad. Bar staff was most hospitable but the was as far as my warm experience went in that place. Waiting staff were unfriendly. She was not in a hurry to sit us. Admittedly we did not have a booking and were told to wait 15 minutes which was fine. I had to approach staff after waiting an extra 10 minutes n she places us at a table which had been sitting empty the whole time. Secondly staff were cold and unwelcoming. No eye contact it was difficult to summon support we had to go to the till at the end of our meal and ask to pay because staff would whizz past our table and not pay attention to if customer needed support or not. The order came and it was wrong. We asked for well done surf and turf meals with sweet potatoes. Got uncooked meet with normal potatoes. The cow was alive and running around on our plates. Order was missing a drinks Infact. Never again. Will not be recommending either. I will stick to the Dartford branch thank you.

Met a friend for early lunch I had surf & turf, the waitress asked how I wanted my steak, and when it arrived she came and asked if it was ok It was, the portions are very generous, also had the waffle that was nice as well I will be back. Waitress was very attentive but not over bearing, I didn’t get her name but she was a very friendly lovely blonde lady ☺️ Went in this Mothers Day for lunch, They were 20 minutes behind booking time so sat at the bar, was called to the table, Our server was was called JODY, she was rushed off her feet , it was very very busy, she apologised that the chicken and lamb had run out so I had the beef my son had the 🍔 the beef was pink nice but vegetables had no seasoning, and it wasn’t very hot , the Apple pie was ok but the custard had a skin over it. Jody was really lovely although she looked dead on her feet she was just so nice I go there for lunch occasionally, but will look out for her a very good and hard worker and she done herself proud Sunday 10th March . Had a lovely Mother’s Day meal with the family. Staff were really lovely as always. It is under staffed at the moment but that is not the current staffs fault, they worked extremely hard (heard a guy complain and he was very rude and threw some personal insults to the members of staff, NOT ACCEPTABLE MR!!) They were brilliant! We had a little wait in between courses but that was fine too. The food was very good, and plentiful. Thank you for a lovely afternoon!

Ten minutes wait at front desk as no one available to seat us. When we eventually got seated and ordered our starters we had to wait approx 40 mins to receive and we was also brought a starter that we didn't order (wasn't a freebie cos it appeared on our bill, approx 45 mins wait for mains to arrive, and roughly 30 mins for desserts, one of the biscoff sundaes was served with no sauce or biscoff, waitress kindly went and got a bowl of ice cream, sauce and biscoff. Drinks were extremely slow and we did have to chase them up a couple of times. The ladies toilets had no toilet roll and tissue over the floor, did tell a member of staff who said she would check it out but didn't. The bill was wrong, we was charged for extras we didn't have, meal prices were based on set menu yet charged individually on bill which worked our more expensive. The staff were working exceptionally hard but it seems the restaurant took on too many bookings to be able to cope and therefore could not provide a decent service within a reasonable time. Rather disappointed especially as it was mother's day

Booked a table for a birthday surprise the end of January only to receive a message shortly before our booked time saying they have had to cancel our booking, thought that we would give another chance today (mothers day) well the service was awful the poor waitress's was trying so hard but they needed a lot more staff to cope, from the time we got there it was an hour and a half before got our starters in total we was in there for over 3 hours, the total place was a shambles and the only people to blame for that is the management,the ladies toilets had run out of toilet paper and dirty even though we told a member of staff nothing was done about it.

Paid Premier Inn £25.99 for a Meal Deal - 2 course evening meal (some meals have extra supplements on top of this price ) and cooked breakfast in the morning. On arrival at 17.00 pm I was told sorry the restaurant was fully booked all evening so cannot eat here. A refund will need to be issued. Went down for my cooked breakfast at 07.00 in the morning to be told sorry there is no cooked food available , only toast, yogurts and cake for breakfast. Not what you expect from a hotel when travelling long distances, keep away from these chains.

We dined out at the liberty bell last night, and as always the staff where brilliant,understaffed as seems to be the norm had drinks at the bar until our dining slot and was waited on by gemma and Tracey and as always both gave a great service with plenty of laughs,we had chicken and ribs and the chargrilled prawn and vegetable skewers with chips both cooked really nice,followed by a vanilla cream Sundae with kit kat and ice cream could not fault it.we stayed for drinks after at the bar hosted by Ellis and Steve and thank you steve for going that little bit extra. thank you all for a great evening,will be back soon

Food ok, what you would expect from a Wetherspoons but service was shocking. Encountered 2 meme era of staff, both rude. I understand they are busy and short staffed but the rudeness was a next level

We went here on Saturday and the food was lovely as was the service, quickest resturant we have ever been to. Was really enjoyable and our waitress was lovely.

A nice and welcoming restaurant. Food ok could be hotter. Waitresses very friendly,manager nice too. Reasonably priced for a family meal. The one complaint is that after the waitress returned from a break, she reeked of cigarette smoked which was quite off putting while eating and her serving us. I would suggest ( as my colleague used to do) is that she puts on a coat or other covering over her uniform. While I have no quarms of people smoking it was unpleasant to smell it so strong on her.

A large number of us went (11). Our server Sheetal was very efficient and coped well with our large number and the customised orders eg no salad in burger, no bacon etc. was a shame that no sweet potato fries! Many of us wanted that! There’s an Asda down the road and I would have thought chef would send someone out to get some! Hence one star off for that, but otherwise happy with the food, all came out at the same time which was great! Service was great too.

Well we go to the liberty quite often and are normally very happy with our meal how ever dining there last night was a great dissapointment.We ordered fillet steak with cheesy chips,the steak was very dry and quite tough and the cheesy chips were cold and all stuck together which wasnt very nice but the rest of the meal was ok.Not one table had any salt and we were given sachets of salt for our meal,they had also run out of my favourite tiple,I ordered a double jamesons and coke and was told i only had a single as they had run out I thought being a pub as well as a reteraunt they would have had more than 1 bottle at a time in stock,only 1 ladies toilet out of 4 working and the floor of the toilet was flooded and too top it all a bar full of screaming children running around so we will be thinking of return visit to the beefeater.On the good side I must praise our lovely waitress,she was wonderful.

Had to come here tonight as the restaurant originally booked had to close due to an emergency. I’ve had disappointments here many times except for last time which was good. Tonight or chips were cold, dry and some were hard. The salad was bland and how can you serve a salad but no salad cream! We didn’t even get a salad dressing! On the other hand the staff are lovely here, so helpful and very friendly

The food here isn't too bad. The problem is, it's never open! It forms part of the premier inn hotel next door and you can either never get a table or the restaurant randomly closes as they are short staffed. Even for breakfast, you will book a cooked breakfast and then be told the haven't got a chef so its just cereal. Staff are generally rude and miserable.

My parents and I were three of the unfortunate souls to attend this mess of a restaurant on Boxing Day for Christmas dinner. Complete disgrace of a place. Several members of staff had apparently seen sense and left this sinking ship just prior to Christmas, and the staff they had in to replace them appeared to not even be able to spell "restaurant", let alone work in one The two managers on duty tried in vein to keep things running, but were fighting a losing battle. Not only was the service dire, but the food was not much better. It tasted stale and, the turkey aside (which was decent, to be fair) felt like it had been fully prepared and cooked the night before and warmed through as required Reading through articles online, this dive ruined many peoples Christmas Day / Boxing Day meals. You should be utterly ashamed of yourselves for the uselessness you displayed that day. I have requested a refund with the restaurant via e-mail, but they continue their inadequate service and have blanked both of my attempts of contact. Beefeater have now been e-mailed direct Avoid this place like the plague!
