Brilliant atmosphere for the football. Great family-friendly pub. With a massive garden. No food, only English tapas 🤣 ie crisps,nuts,scampi fries. The only complaint is that the beer is a little pricey.

Have fun bingo on a Tues which is a good laugh with friends. Plus a nice big garden to sit out in x

Terrible night at the Golden Crane for Christmas Eve. Used to be so much better, was dead by 10pm as this DJ couldn’t read the room to understand that people naturally wanted Christmas music. Worst DJ I’ve ever encountered, doesn’t understand how to mix and or take requests let alone know what people want to listen to… atrocious. Would not come back here again for an event like that.

The best cocktails I have ever had! A nice audience set my intimate tables and low lighting with beautifully imagined and constructed drinks, each with a back story. High quality to match the price. Will go again for sure.

Came to the pub, enjoyed my time. Towards the end the regulars were really rude and racist towards my friend. And the management saw what was happening and did not do anything. Wouldn’t recommend anyone coming to this pub. Would recommend The Plough

First time in here ( seen it on Wednesday while was at ZL Cafe ) Nearly empty on this heavily rainy Friday afternoon ( around 13:00 ) Enjoyed my cafe latte and my very sweetly Ferrero Nocciola Chocolate Cake ) Unfortunately the waiter rushed to provide me with the bill even before I asked for it ( disappointing )

Needed a venue for my birthday bash, and this place came up trumps. Can't thank Glen enough and all his staff for making my night so memorable. Food was supplied by Caffe gelato, as the pub no longer does food as now run as a pub. DJ supplied by pub. Great night thank you

Nice local pub. Went in for a friend's birthday event over Halloween, it wasn't too busy, the bar staff were very attentive and it was nice to see families with children being allowed to enjoy themselves.

I attended this venue for my Aunt's wake. The staff were all helpful and respectful. The room was spacious and the garden lovely. Highly recommended

Cold beer, Friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. All at a great price! Unfortunately food no longer served here, but the owner is cool and you can get fish n chips from a chippy down the road (or a curry froma a tandori rest.)

Good ale ,reasonable prices and staff excellent. Only issue was with I presume were regulars,one of which called my friend a c### for having the temerity for looking in his direction!no drama ,just a idiot you find in most pubs I am afraid.

Apart from some very loud man in there it was a good atmosphere. Football was on and very chilled.

I called into this pub at about 4pm on 4th January 2022 for a quiet drink. The pub was clean and tidy, the bar staff friendly, and the beer above average. What a shame then that a group of mother's came in with their primary school age children (there is a school next door) put their children on one table and settled in at a seperate table. There was just about no supervision of the children who were loud and at times ran around the pub. At one point four or five children ran up into the corner where I was sitting and given the covid situation I found this very unsettling and asked the mother's to reign their children in. They looked at me as if I had no right to ask this of them. The bar staff at no time approached these mother's to ask them to better manage their children. I like children and support a pub that is family friendly but that needs to be balanced with the rights of other users to a reasonable place to sit in a pub and not a child minding venue!

Nice local pub that is easy to get to by foot, if you live in Cranham or Upminster. We went on the day they had an Amy Winehouse tribute, who didn't have as many tattoos but she did sound like her. Got loads of people dancing anyway. Standard selection of beer for the area but that's fine. Just good to see people in there enjoying themselves.

Booked the marquee but it had been removed when we arrived so had to go inside the pub instead. Food was nice but it was really noisy so found it difficult to hold decent conversations. Shame really as this was our first group outing since lockdown.

Popped in here for lunch on a weekend and sat in the big garden to enjoy some sun. Food was delicious, esp the halloumi fries - huge portion and soooo good! Also got a burger and pesto chicken wrap, wrap wasn't amazing but defs very generous with the chicken, great burger. Service was friendly and the garden is a lovely place to relax, very open, and lots of seating

Left here when my parents couldn't be bothered to parent me. Was parented by the mini egg machine and the condom dispenser. fell out of a tree and died.

The landlord and landlady are nice, and make a lovely cup of tea when we deliver there beer.

The new owner has really turned this pub around. It used to be dark and oppressive and as a single lady I always felt uncomfortable walking in. Now my son and I love sitting in the garden together and seeing the lovely meadow garden. The food is great value and tastes fresh too. It really does have a friendly family feel about the place. I’m glad to now have a decent local pub for us to enjoy!

The food at this place is incredible i ordered the daddy burger which is not even the biggest one and it was huge get great value for money and the taste was so good had my mouth watering. L&E kitchen is the company running the kitchen take a bow excellent work. The pub is great nice set out dispite covid and very warm and welcoming.

Food was very good I was shocked given the very reasonable prices. Ribs were great, chips home cooked. Overall I'll definitely be going back.

Excellent Afternoon Tea. Good Sandwiches ,very fresh Scones with jam and cream and lovely little pastries. Such good value for money. Would definitely recommend it.

Friendly, well run local pub. Plenty of room for everyone even with Covid rules in place. Lovely garden too.

We enjoy the thursday night quiz here though the drinks could be better and patrons are not great at complying with social distancing regulations amd instructions. We will give it a while until we go back.

Fantastic beer garden & lovely staff. Tables are spread out to allow social distancing & the bar is set up with a safe queueing system. Staff are constantly cleaning and disinfecting tables. It has always been a great pub & covid hasn't gotten in the way of that.

It's ok but some of the younger bar staff were rude and showed they didn't want to be there, to which is a shame as it let's the pub down.

Had a sunday meal for 20 people ( 17 adults and 3 kids) some didn't want a roast !!.... Extremely impressed with the choice of menu, and all the choices were fantastic !!!....everyone was impressed, and will be going back !!...... Sincere thanks to Glenn and Denise, great pub, quality food !!..... SO lucky to have a proper pub to visit for a drink, and SO much more !!!

Get little pub,that is dog friendly and child friendly, not a huge selection of drink or food but what they do have they do well,most of the staff are friendly but I have had an encounter with one staff member who had a bit of an attitude but it won't stop me going back

Lovely relaxed local pub,serving a various selection of food on its menu. Glenn and denise who run this place are a lovely couple who have made the Golden Crane a very welcoming place to visit, as they did with the Plough which was their previous pub.well worth a visit.

I hadn't been here for many many years but decided to go as they have new staff and I keep hearing good reviews.... My daughter likes outdoor play areas attached to a pub ( which I like ) so when she requested a pub with an outdoor play area I thought I'd give it a go as it's all id been hearing about recently and we vist many outdoor establishments Upon entering it looks as though it's a pub for locals There were quite a few dishes NOT available and seems quite a small menu as well However, when I approached ANY member of staff I was greeted as though I'd been there forever, nothing was too much bother, there was someone about to ask my question, they were all polite and very welcoming and although an outsider I felt as though they Treated me like I was a regular there and was treated as such .. I was handsomely greeted on the way in and was given a fine cheerio on the way out ... Food was very reasonably priced.. my husband had the ploughmans and we found it good value for money .. staff were attentive but not intrusive which was nice I'd definitely recommend ... it was kept tidy , staff were always milling about doing something and noticed it was dog friendly too... I used the baby change and it was clean and tidy Good job !

I can't believe the change of atmosphere in this pub. Friendly staff , great food, entertainment with a clean environment. Children's play area refurbished a treat. Well done Glenn and Denise and all the staff.

Has changed hands for a fresher look but too much emphasis on football. You can't get away from it.

I visited with my toddler and my parents for lunch today. There was a relatively limited menu but a good ten or so options such as burger and chips, sausage and mash, chicken wrap and about six for the kids’ menu including fish fingers and burger. The new owners have been there for a couple of weeks only so it’s early days but the service was great, very friendly, and the food turned up in good time and was really nice. The onion gravy with my bangers and mash was superb. Worth a visit for a nice, easy meal for lunch.
