What a fantastic place, I spent new years eve here with my friends, the atmosphere was spot on, everyone was so welcoming, the dj line up was quality. Thanx for having us❤

Nice cocktails and wine list. The interior design is pleasing but the music is way too loud, couldn't hear each other. Otherwise is a nice place for a drink or two.

Not a bad bar with a fairly lively atmosphere - did feel like the lights were to bright and the music too loud when we visited but otherwise good. Haven't tried the food.

Brilliant place to go, drinks selection is great and the cocktails were amazing. I will definitely be coming to this place everytime I visit Hove! The staff were also very lovely!

A great bar to stop for a drink or a bite to eat. The staff are warm and friendly and the espresso martinis are.... well you'll just have to go see for yourself!!

Libation website clearly says food is served Monday to Friday 12pm to 9pm, but that is obviously a lie. My online booking for a Tuesday was rejected because they said that their kitchen is closed on Monday and Tuesday. Will never attempt to book there again.

Went there for sunday roast having booked on line. Everything was fine, not amazing, but fine. There were only three choices of dessert, all of them not to our choice so we left without dessert, somewhat disappointing.

Such shocking service tonight, we were seated and ordered a rather large round of drinks including a bottle of wine to then be told we had to leave the table within 30 minutes. If tables are booked most venues will advise you of reservation times so you know prior to sitting down, rather then been throwing a reservation board on your table as you just received your drink. The manger/bar man was so rude, not sure how he expected my 75 year old mum who has a disability to stand and drink her mocktail!!!

Terrible start to the evening. Sat down, ordered drinks. We were rudely told that the table was reserved in half an hour and a reserved sign was put on the table. Rudely told to leave. The reserved signs are chalk boards so could have easily been done in advance.

Really cool bar with a good choice. We've been here a few times including at Christmas when they had the tastiest mulled wine with real cinnamon sticks. Delicious! Some may say it's a bit on the pricey side but I say you get what you pay for. Love this place and definitely recommend it.

Good service, pleasant atmosphere

Came here for a Sunday roast, as I'd seen great reviews. Sadly we were to be disappointed. We both had the pork roast - the crackling was dire, just an inedible piece of chewy, cooked pigskin. I'd have been embarrassed to serve that. The pork was tough - clearly cooked not nearly long enough. Potatoes were tasty, but weren't crispy. The Yorkshire pudding was stodgy and chewy. The rest of the veg was good, but those four items are the main part of a good roast dinner!

Enjoyed a wonderful roast with my family on Sunday. Grate portions that left me full to the brim, I had the pork belly that was beautifully tender with a perfect piece of crackling on top. It's really nice to see free-range pork on the menu and it was the star of the show. The place was clean and modern with friendly and accommodating staff that were more than happy to welcome my 18 month old daughter. I'll be heading back soon to try the other roasts and see what dry aged beef is like.

Good service to begin with, got about 1/2 full by the end so our bill took ages to come. It was very expensive considering it basically tasted like a heated up ready meal from Tesco... £30 for two very small 'Mains' a GLASS of wine and a soft drink. Won't be returning out recommending.

I came here to watch the women's Euro finals after booking ahead. Unfortunately they only had one TV the other broke so the whole bar had to watch one TV. My table for three was just a small square bar style table with three stools. I knew this would not be adequate for three people to eat...but don't worry they solved this problem by closing the kitchen early so we were only able to have some chicken wings. They were really nice but with beer wine and wings on such a small table unfortunately we spilled the bottle of wine. The staff was great to clear away the mess but ultimately should have been given another bottle to replace the spilled one as the table was so tiny. I also had my assistance dog with me and she was constantly being hurt by people walking past, even though I had asked and stated we wanted to sit away from people. All in all of I just came for drinks it would have been good but the fact that's it's a restaurant too was a shame. I might come back on a normal evening - I know the finals is a big event and it might be better on a regular night. As such I'm struggling to give 3 stars.

Despite checking on the website prior to our visit, our waiter advised us there was nothing on the menu which had a gluten free option - the chef had nothing else he could offer. "We must look at gluten free options at our next meeting" he said. The first restaurant in my 25 years of having Coeliac Disease unable to address a gluten intolerance.

I am usually absolutely lazy at writing reviews, and rarely ever write one so negative. However went for 1 drink with a couple of friends yesterday and had pretty awful service from the bar staff. While being served by one person in particular, my wife and I felt like we were wasting her time completely just by asking for a beer and a cocktail on the menu. She was cold, didn’t even want to talk to us, pointed sarcastically at the selection of beer, felt like we were completely wasting her time :’) Also for £9.50 a cocktail, it was a complete waste of time and quality.

Nice venue and friendly staff, but the Sunday roast was a let down. Roast potatoes seemed like they had been reheated in the microwave. Very tough and dry.

Just tucked into an amazing Sunday roast, a BLC Combo, all cooked to perfection. A nice bottle of Prosecco to celebrate a lovely sunny Sunday afternoon in a really great venue run by Chris and his friendly staff. Already planning another visit, may go for the ‘four meats’ next time as the roast pork looked amazing.

Having enjoyed a nice stroll in the sunshine, we decided to enter for a drink and bite to eat, as l hadn’t been in there for many years. I wasn’t disappointed with a vibrant buzz in there with many tables taken. Enjoyed a drink with Roast Lamb & Pork Belly. Generous portions and well presented. Would recommend booking in future, and will definitely return again.

Had a Sunday roast at Libation strongly recommended by a friend so went with my partner (booking a week in advance). We were sat down and waited for a menu. The table next to us were seated 5 mins later and given menus immediately, so we asked a waiter for one. We ordered a chicken roast and a pork roast. The servings were very generous, but the meats (the main parts of the roasts) were dry and must have been overcooked. The rest of the food was nice but this spoilt it somewhat. After we finished, our plates were cleared but not our empty drinks glasses. We then waited around 15 mins to be given a dessert menu and/or be asked if we would like any more drinks. We looked over to the bar area to see the staff chatting away to each other, seemingly with nothing to do. After becoming fed up with waiting, we asked for the bill, which included a 10% service charge which, to avoid an uncomfortable situation, we begrudgingly paid. It was certainly not deserved though. We felt ignored by the staff and forgotten about, and sadly the food didn't do enough to make up for it.

My first time here. Had Sunday lunch. Lots of places do good Sunday roast now, but I have to say this was pretty good. The large, quite thick, slices of beef some of the best I've had in a while. Quite good veg too. Will probably come back here.

We are local to libation and I can’t thank them enough for an excellent day! The food was delicious and there were 14 of us! Hot,tasty ,perfectly cooked and presented! The staff are friendly,courteous ,nothing too much trouble! Thank you so much,we will be back! Happy Xmas to you all xx

Pretty good venue for a Christmas Party

Went for a meal on Sunday with a large group of friends. The menu was simple - roast dinner - and the food was fantastic . Everyone’s meal came out at the same time which is such a bonus. The portion size was very generous and the price very acceptable. The staff were very helpful too. I would definitely recommend the Sunday roast here.

Went to Libation in Hove at 5pm with friends and children as they had a children’s menu. The music was so loud we couldn’t hear the person to either side. The table behind were swearing at the top of their voices and when we asked the waitress to say something she said ‘it is a bar’ and proceeded to turn the volume of music up even more. We could not relax and enjoy our 5pm dinner and left. This is a trashy bar not a restaurant!

Brilliant, exceptional, life changing, just a few of the words I would use to describe my experience here. I arrived nice and early on Saturday for Pres with my mates, and had a blast, the cocktails are all finely mixed and delicious! Boy those bartenders really put their back into shaking them up though! The music was the perfect volume, and a great playlist of Saturday night tunes. The bartender who was serving was very nice, and accommodating. The Eastern European security guard was also very nice. Overall, I will definitely be returning, I didn't realise it was a restaurant as well, so will be bringing the family to sample the food soon!

We had a very fun Friday evening here. We shifted our reservation for six after we were delayed and the staff were very accommodating. The two for one cocktails at happy hour were delicious - the martini espresso was especially nice. Nachos good. Menu simple and food good enough.

Extremely rude doorman, big fella with a hair bun. The doorman is the front of house you first see/get welcomed by and he was extremely rude to all of our family, none of us will be returning here, ruined the whole night. They should re-think their staff if they want a bit more customer service to their guests.

We had to wait nearly an hour for a very simple drink order (gin and tonic). This is a not acceptable we will not be back. Soo disappointed especially seeing as we were celebrating a 30th birthday, such a let down. Do not go here you will only end up being disappointed

Generous portions of well cooked Sunday lunch, even the yorkshires were a high standard. Pleasant environment, good vibe but not too busy inside, and some good pints of Harveys. Service is added to the bill which seems fair enough in these times. Very good value.

Great outdoor seating area, cocktails good and had the three dishes for £22 which were excellent.

Waiting for my drinks for 35 minutes then told it was not on their app, had an outside table but was giving one inside no apology.. :( took so long to order in the first place,

Great bottomless brunch with prosecco, me and the girls had the best time

Booked table and were not told there was not a time limit on this table. Once arrived, we were given a 15 minute warning that we had to leave as table was needed. Waited a further half an hour in which noone arrived to occupy this table. The manager told us we could wait and if noone showed up within 5 minutes we could keep the table. We waited a further 10 minutes and noone showed, only to be told by a staff member that we had to leave as they needed the table despite noone arriving to occupy it. Waited 45 minutes for noone to arrive and we could have given them some more revenue in this time. Very disappointed, will not be returning and not advising others to attend this establishment.

Shown to table. Drinks order taken then forgotten for over 30 minutes. When we got the attention of the staff we were told the kitchen was closed. At this point the staff were more concerned about eating their food than making the situation better. Left hungry and pretty upset to be treated like that. I am fan of the lion group but this really took the biscuit. Mr 🦁 I hope someone brings this to your attention. Your places serve great food in a well thought out and pleasent settings. We were pretty shocked to be treated so poorly.

I have been to this pub years ago and it was good, but my recent experience there was very unpleasant. The venue itself it's nice with sitting outdoors so there is a potential, but the staff and their attitute is just out of order, the choice of drinks is poor and overpriced. I went for a couple of drinks with friends and that evening the person in charge acted like he was penalized to be there and was rude and unfriendly. He was so grumpy and unplesant that made every one is my group feel uncomfortable. The choice of drinks is very poor, only few drinks on the tap, all very commercial and the prices are truly Hove. A small bottle of punk IPA is £5.80. I regret spending any money there as so many wonderful pubs in Brighton to choose from especially when service is bad. Sadly, my friend chosen it so we stayed. At the end of the night, one of the waiters/ bartenders poured my friend's drink away when she went to the toilet. Half of my group left by that time, however, I still sat by the table and no one asked me whether someone was still drinking the remaining drinks. I mean, mistakes happen, but when we mentioned that the drink was gone to a young waiter, he apologized and did nothing else. Then we asked a young girl who worked there about replacement and she went to ask the grumpy manager who just ignored us without the word. I mean what business does that? Single gin & tonic is nealry £6 in this place. My friend had half-drunken glass of double that which was way more. We are not children and this is not our first bar experience. Our group average age was about 40 years old. We did not misbehave to make the staff so rude. In today's economy and world going into recession, I doubt places like that will survive. Surely I will not recommned this place. If you want nice time and good choice of drinks, pick somewhere else. One positive note tho, the young waiter was actually quite nice and when he saw my injury (I came in the cast with the broken leg), he offered me the key to disabled toilet so I didn't have to use the stairs. Thank you.

Absolutely banging, roast dinner on a Sunday the best, brilliant went with friends as they live down there and go there often so we tagged along and wasn’t disappointed at all, staff are pleasant and attentive....big it up for the chef that cooked it though as they are the ones that always get forgotten about yet they are the ones that make the food what it is so WELL DONE....👍🏻

Incredible vegan roast! We booked a table for 4 to soak up the hangover of a boozy Saturday night. We were served by a young petite lady and she was so sweet and lovely! She looked after us so well so I hope that’s passed on. As for the roast, my dear lord I’m in love. The potatoes were cooked to garlicy perfection and all the veg was tasty. I will be back soon on my next visit to the lovely seaside!

Went for a hungover Sunday roast, and lets starts with the pros, the roast pots are lovely (heavy on the garlic), waitress lovely, welcome warming.Now for the downside, bloody Mary's were terrible and watery; served in a goblet with very little seasoning or spice. The gravy is granules. Cauliflower cheese was watery (didnt eat our extra and to be fair was taken off the view, why it's 2 star). Our bill had 3 more bloody Mary's than ordered (when questioned the manager had to call the waiter over to confirm, as if I was lying). Oh and service charge is added as an item so suspicious how it goes to the staff.Probably wouldn't return other for the convenience of location or improvement on quality and service.

Refused entrance despite being completely sober and smartly dressed. My friend and I were unfortunately over 40. Three drunk youngsters we're allowed in after we were turned away. I won't be going back.

A really great Sunday lunch. We ordered a vegan, a veggie and a roast beef. All were exceptional. Nice sized meals with a decent amount if gravy. Despite being full we couldn't resist the dessert - again all exceptional including the vegan option. Lovely atmosphere and we weren't rushed in any way. Service was faultless with really friendly staff. On this experience we would definitely recommend trying out Libation for a Sunday lunch, as a couple, with friends or with family. Very very poor service. Got told to be quiet at 7oclock at night, even though bar was full of noisy people. Staff was so so rude. Terrible!

This place really does have everything, from great night life to IMO serving the best roast I've ever had! To be fair Tisburys kitchen never disappoints. 5stars.
