Liban Tapas in Redbridge

There have been mixed reviews about this place, including by one of the party I last visited with, and that is why I think it is important to say that over the last few years I have had two lovely experiences with friends at Liban. The most recent just being 2 days ago on a Friday night. I think it was better than last time. The staff were so friendly and accommodating to our needs to be outside in the beautiful courtyard area with the heaters. We were even allowed to bring our dog as we had done years before. When we booked it stated we could have the table for 1.5 hours but we were able to stay for 5 hours! We just like to sit and nibble on tapas while we drink wine and would much prefer to be in this peaceful setting than in one of the local bars. Thanks again for such a lovely evening and accommodating us until close so we could have a good catch up. We hope to be able to come back and enjoy a similar evening more regularly.

Visited for the first time for an impromtu early evening bite to eat with a friend. We were unsure of the menu (seemed like a fusion) but were intrigued plus they offered vegan options. Was fairly empty when we walked in and greeted almost immediately and offered a table. However, the table had used tissues on it so we sat down at the next one. On looking at the menu properly, we realised the mains were quite expensive so went for 'sharing plates'. We ordered a lamb dish, hummous and falafel. We also requested fries. The hummous was the best dish and the complimentary bread. We had to remind the staff about the fries, which when they came werent very nice. The falafel was overcooked. After eating, a staff member started cleaning the table off (sending crumbs flying) whilst we were sitting there instead of waiting until we had left! Overall, the staff were pleasant enough and the decor is nice but unfortunately, the food was a let down. My friend was adamant that she wouldnt return as she was disappointed with the food and i tend to agree.

Rubbish food, And expensive, I would advise anyone to go to any other restaurant in the area rather than this one.

The staff are knowledgeable about the menu and were happy to offer their advice when choosing dishes. They were also very accommodating with special requests - kudos to the team. The restaurant is nice, bright and clean. The cocktail, wine and food we had were very tasty. The only constructive criticism I'd offer is that of the mains we had, we felt the tacos were fairly expensive for the quantity of food on the plate (£16/£17 for three tacos alone on the plate, no salad/fries etc. served with them). It was overall a lovely meal though.

The restaurant was really nicely decorated and the staff were really welcoming and friendly. They had a good selection of food and drinks. The tapas was much better then the mains. The mains were really expensive for what we got and didn’t taste too great. One of the mains I got was the paneer burger - was really bland and way overpriced. The patata bravas were really good and so were the cocktails.

I have regularly visited Liban prior to the lock down and have always been amazed by the food ambiance and the service. I went yesterday without a booking with a friend we were immediately greeted taken to our table. Very pleasant staff I ordered sea bass it was not made to the standard I usually had immediately the manager came over and without any fuss apologised and said we will replace it for you but instead offered me complimentary dinner for my small upset absolutely amazing 🤩 I have not been made to feel this comfortable any where definitely will return without hesitation Love the resultant the vibe the service Sam

This place is great! Really nice cocktails and the food was good overall. Some of the mains I thought were a bit small - eg the tacos didn’t have any kind of sides. Was also a little confused why it cost £25 for 4 tapas and £35 for 5, when most of the tapas dishes were between £7-£8. Visited this place last night for the first time with my boyfriend and was truly blown away not only by the amazing food but the service aswell. The resturant is beautifully decorated with perfect ambience, the settings and the lighting really gives it that warm cosy feeling. There is a beautiful terrace with fire outside so we visited there for a bit after our meal We ordered 5 of the tapas dishes which were so well presented and mouth watering delicious. It was such good value for money too (£35 for 5 dishes and we had truffle chips which were to die for). We felt this was plenty for us. The cocktails were made to perfection with the right consistency. Even their special cocktails that are their own recipes were incredible. We loved the salted caramel espresso Martini and also the blue lagoon. Our favourite had to be the ibicus, so sweet and was presented in such a decadent way. We hope they keep this on the full time menu as it's the best thing ever. What made our visit so special was the restaurant Manager Pierre and also the staff there. From the moment we walked in we were given such a warm welcome. There is no job to small for the staff here and everyone goes out to deliver exceptional customer service. What I enjoyed the most about it was the restaurant Manager made a point of interacting with everyone, not just the team he manages. He really values every person that visits. In all the years I've eaten out I've never experience such excellence in hospitality. This restaurant for us bests any restaurant in the city, its busy but not over stretched and that's why I feel we had such a great experience last night. I really looking forward to going back already and the fact this is local to us aswell makes us love it even more. This is definatley my favourite restaurant and I'm glad we tried it. I can't wait to return with friends and family.

This is a beautiful tapas restaurant in South Woodford, perfect for a date night. The food was incredible, staff were extremely attentive and friendly and even offered us to switch tables to the fabulous outside dining area and were so kind as to offer us blankets too. Our party had a selection of tapas and mains which were superb. Stunning decor, delicious drinks and will definitely be back again to try more of the menu.

Wow! Great food (especially the hummus and I really enjoyed the super yummy vodka cocktail), excellent service with superb terrace dining area...featuring a beautiful rose backdrop, great for our Instagram pictures! As soon as we walked through the door, the new manager Pierre immediately made us feel very welcomed. What a difference a new manager makes! The manager needs to do a refresher course on customer service. The restaurant is suppose to be a Lebanese cuisine but had only Indian food as mains? Me and my friends had ordered mocktail and the drinks were literally half a glass, the drinks were overpriced in terms of how much we got. We ordered a shared Tapas and unfortunately it wasn't really sharing Tapas the portion sizes were very small. When trying to discuss this he came across quite arrogant and had very little listening skills. We were extremely upset the way he dealt with things so cancelled our main, however we didn't let this dampen our mood and went to the Turkish restaurant down the road and they really went out of their way to serve us good food, big portion sizes and gave us dessert which was in the house.

What a beautiful cosy restaurant. Such a lovely vibe. Amazing selection of food and drinks with shisha. The service was impeccable. Will definitely be going back. Thank you for having us.

Our group of 5 ladies visited this restaurant. We were the only customers there. Supposedly Lebanese cuisine, but provides Asian dishes, which is very confusing. Staff are rude, ignorant and the menu is overpriced. Expect drinks to be half full, and the service to be appalling. After an immediate disappointment about drink quantities, small appetisers and then a male dominated atmosphere, my friends and I left before the mains arrived. I would urge all interested parties to NOT waste their time and money at this restaurant. If you like to feel insulted and ripped off then please visit this place.

Such a gorgeous place! Makes you feel like you have been transported to a gorgeous riad in the middle of Morocco! Came with total of 4 people and the place was completely empty. We ordered 3 mains and two starters. The starters came 40 mins later. They said the mains would take 5 mins but we instead we waited an hour and half, still no mains....

We decided to try a different restaurant in the area, found Liban we hadn’t tried yet. Servers were very friendly.Our starters took over 30 minutes to come out. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all, max 5 tables, so not sure what the delay was. After the hefty wait for the starters, we was told one of the items was not available. Why weren’t we told this at the start??? So we ordered another starter, because we were so hungry. It arrived 15mins after we finished the original starters. It got to 1hr 30mins from when we arrived, no mains were to be seen. Quite frankly we got fed up waiting and asked for the bill. The manager said we could have the mains wrapped up with no charge, which we accepted. The prices are not cheap, £70 for halloumi, hummus, Turkish sausage and chicken wings, plus drinks while waiting for our food. Funny thing is with the mains we took home, items we ordered with it was missing... had to stick some rice and chips on to accompany it.

Delicious Lebanese flavours. Lovely menu, tapas style or you can eat starter and main. I recommend the Aubergine Moussaka with chickpeas. A favourite I’ll be returning for. Lovely heated outside dining area and shisha area. Staff attentive.

It’s not my first time at Liban Tapas as I am a regular. The food is amazing! And service is second to none. I’ve had different wait staff and the consistency between then is brilliant, clearly they enjoy working there. If staff are happy, customers will follow suit. The service provided is very personal and the manager is always present checking in with customers. This is a feature that I really like.I’m not the best of customers and I can be rather awkward with my requests but the manager and wait staff have never taken offence and have always tried their hardest to meet my needs. My fussiness isn’t with food (amazing!) but rather with drinks. I have a particular way of drinking that’s not common with their other customers. However this wasn’t a problem as the waiter who served me did take it back a few times until it was just the way I liked it. They do have a nice range of gins (Bombay to Monkey 47) and various cocktails. The atmosphere is perfect with good spacing between the tables set around 4 separate dining areas. One tip: If you want a booth, phone ahead and request it specifically. However even though we weren’t able to have the booth, we were offered a table on the terrace. Keeping in mind that it was February and in London, the manager went out of his way to make us comfortable with outdoor heating and blankets. The setting was perfect!

Lovely restaurant in a good locally.The food was delicious, tender meat which is good considering a lot or the restaurant in this area have low quality meat. So Liban Tapas is using good quality and is cooked well. I order spicy kafta which doesn’t come with rice, and my friend order kafta with yogurt which does come with a big bowl of rice, which can be shared however the waitress didn’t tell us how big the portion are, so we ordered rice to go with spicy kafta!!! Complete waste of money, but hey it’s only £4.They offer on - 2 cocktails for £14 before 7 so we got our fair share of drinks before 7.The staff are nice and polite, just wish the staff would advice on menu and maybe stop coming over every 10 minutes to ask how we are, especially whilst customers are eating. Gets a little awkward, other than is very good restaurant, definitely would go back.

Was in South Woodford for a quick shop and stop at the bank and we saw Liban tapas and decided to stop for some lunch. It was a lovely little restaurant with good service. We went for an evening meal and ordered the meat set menu for 2. All the items were delicious and mouthwatering. We got complimentary Lebanese bread at the start with garlic mayo and chilli sauce. I couldn't stop eating the mayo, it was superb ! The portion sizes were big and we couldn't finish our food ( but took it back home for later). The meal was finished off with mint tea and Baklava. We will definitely go back for more. The restaurant is good for parties and also has different lounges. Slightly on the expensive side compared to other restaurants but good one for celebrations.

The Liban offers a great selection of food which is very good. Portions are very generous and the service is very good. If anything it does lack a bit of atmosphere which can really only evolve if the restaurant was better attended. The manager is very charasmatic and given time sure it will develop well

This is our second time to the restaurant and we find the service to be bad in both occasions. First time it was bisy so we thought its because of that but second time hardly any people. This restaurant is also not kids friendly.

Went to Liban Tapas yesterday for brunch and deserts with the kids had shish touk wrap with chips Beirut lamb burger and lamb Shawarma with rice all came out fresh and hot, we ordered mocktails Mediterranean breeze and strawberry mohito very nicely presented, really good value for money after our brunch we shared a triple chocolate cake and a fruit sundae and some baklava, had a great experience would recommend to my friends and family

The food is very fresh & delicious. The portion size was big and asked for takeaway. Very beautiful venue, nice decor. Only which I expect from there to listen some Lebanese music as background music.

We happened upon this place by accident, mid-afternoon on Saturday. The staff were friendly and really helpful. The food was fantastic. My elderly mum doesn’t like ‘new’ things but the waiter talked her through what she could order and she was delighted with the Liban chicken- even asked for a doggy-bag. My son and I ordered a selection of hot and cold dishes to share. It was all good. The moutabal is just fantastic. Wasn’t cheap but it was a lovely, relaxed afternoon with good food in very pleasant surroundings. The inner terrace looked beautiful- I will definitely choose to sit outside next time I visit.

Called in for a light lunch midweek. Complimentry nibbles were placed on the table before we had ordered. We chose the wraps. Chicken Shwarma which was really tasty and the falafel that could have done with a bit more seasoning. Both came with fries and a choice of dips. Never seen such a huge wrap in my life. Well worth 8.50. Nice bottle of wine followed by complimentary (again) baklava. Aside from the food and the lovely open and bright seating areas the service was just brilliant. Such an eye for detail. Attentive without being pushy. Really professional. Maybe because there weren't many other customers? I choose to believe it's the norm for this place. All in all a very pleasant experience and will definatly return.

Came here on Sunday evening with my family, the restaurant decor was very beautiful, was very warmly welcomed, the staff explained the menu, which helped to decide what to eat as it was our first time dining in Lebanese restaurant, we were given some complimentary olives and fried Lebanese bread with sauce, we started off with few tapas to share, we had the Liban arayes, baked Lebanese bread with stuffed mince lamb, kibbah deep fried lamb balls, Beirut wings and Lebanese hummus and bread, for mains we had lamb chops, mixed grill, spicy kafta, and fattoush salad with rice and hallumi fries, they all had excellent flavours, we finished off with chocolate fudge cake and Beirut waffles. The service and food was excellent I would recommend it for any occasion.

Me and my wife went out to celebrate our anniversary in our long time home of South Woodford, this new restaurant is a lovely addition to other restaurants in the area as it is a little bit up market but fills a gap that needed filling. Perfect for a couples evening, spacious interior with well thought decor.

Me and my family went for an evening meal after hearing positive reviews from friends. Restaurant lived past expectations! The friendly staff made for a very enjoyable evening, and helping the atmosphere inside. After we finished we decided to try shisha (first time in over a decade for me and first for our (grown up) children), the garden was a lovely space for this activity and we had a fantastic family time trying this out! Will definitely recommend to friends and be back ourselves!

I’m a big believer in supporting new restaurants on the high street and I’ve walked past this place many times, hoping to try it.

Myself and family wanted to try this restaurant as it looked beautiful, but unfortunately the food was tasteless. We ordered lamb shanks and there was no flavour at all. We waited quite a while before our drinks and starters came, which was ok but the calamari had a bone in it and the drink order was incorrect but we didn’t complain. When the mains came the lamb shanks we’re bland and tasteless, which I wouldn’t recommend. We told the manager why we left the lamb shanks and he reduced the bill by one lamb shank order, although two was not touched. I found the service ok but the manager seemed in abit of a mood. The restaurant decor draws you in but for what the food is, isn’t worth the money. Very overpriced for what it is.

This is a beautiful restaurant that we chose for a family birthday. The menu is different and interesting although it is expensive. The day we visited they were a bit short staffed but we got pretty good service. Food was well presented however took some time to come. Food was delicious especially the mix grill. Overall a good night out.

To be honest the best experience! I never try better Lebanese food! We also tried a few cocktails and we were suprised how nicely were garnished and tasty too. Don't be overly impressed by glitzy decor. Is it tapas, is it Lebanese ? Really bad experience. Mediocre service. Nowhere to put our coats. No coffee available because machine broken!! House wine £26 per bottle.

I had been waiting for a while to try out this new restaurant which makes a refreshing option for food over and above the regular Turkish or Pizza options etc

This was our first visit and we'll certainly be back. The atmosphere was relaxing - chill out music in background so you can actually talk/catch up without shouting. Interior is beautifully decorated. We ordered 2 dishes each of the hot & cold tapas from the starters menu, which were delicious and we were so full we couldn't manage a main. Beautiful restaurant interior with delicious well presented food to accompany it. The food took a little while to arrive but I assume this is because they hand make and cook everything from scratch rather than reheating like other restaurants I have been to. I will definitely be back!

We were travelling a week ago, in South Woodford, amazing neighbourhood, and we came across a Liban Restaurant with a very beautiful entrance: After a tour inside made from an italian guy, we sitted down for lunch and they offered us a deal with a selection of tapas, delicious, plus tea and a very good lebanese dessert. We were very happy with the food and service. The restaurant is really nice and welcoming and I recommend everyone to go there. They told me that they also have breakfast and brunch on the beautiful terrace they set up inside.

We went in the afternoon as we wanted the lunch menu. Sadly, we were given the dinner menu and when asked about the lunch menu, we were told that they don't do it even though they had lunch menu's lying around and have it advertised on their website. We decided to stay because we wanted to try the new place. We ordered our drinks which took 10 minutes to come, despite only have 3 tables in the whole restaurant. When my partner asked about what was in the burger, the waiter said the usual items. There was only one waiter accommodating the 3 tables. Our food arrived after 40 minutes and by this time we were starving. The starters were okay, nothing tasty. They forgot one of the starter items which came with the main. The burger that my partner ordered had mustard and BBQ which he didn't like hence he asked earlier what was in the burger but I guess the waiter had no idea what was in the burger itself. He didn't eat it and ended up ordering a kebab which he happily ate. I ordered a kebab and yogurt dish, which sadly was so tasteless and overpowered with the excessive amount of yogurt which wasn't mentioned on the menu. The owner was walking around and meeting the customers and asking for their feedback which was nice but he never came to our table. Overall, it is overpriced, service is poor and the food is nothing magical. Will never return to this place again. Woodoven, which is down the road, it more tasteful and provides a better service!

Very disspointed with food (small portions, very sour yogurt for my meal,tasteless lamb), slow service and the waiter who washes the tables several times of smelly sprays and instead of smell of the food smell chemistry.

Beautiful, clean and attractive restaurant (that's what caught our eye in the first place). Superb food friendly staff and excellent service. Would definitely recommend.

The restaurant itself is beautiful - it opened recently and has been made to look really nice. Sadly, the food doesn't live up to the quality of the building. We ordered three different mixed meze style selections and a bottle of house wine. The food was very small portions and whilst pleasant, was nothing special. There are a few other Lebanese style restaurants within the wider area which charge less than a quarter of the price for better quality, larger portions and which do not charge £4 for a small portion of extra bread. We paid £90, left feeling hungry and won't be rushing back.

Attended as group of 5 people. While the food was very nice when it arrived, the sheer slowness of food was not like Ive ever experienced. We waited over an hour for parts of our 1st order to arrive. When we tried to get the attention of various service staff, we felt like we were being ignored/fobbed off including the manager.

Went there today (Friday night) and had to leave without eating our mains. The service and kitchen is incredibly slow. One of the waiters was very rude when we asked him for our food and he kept touching my baby’s head! FYI we weren’t the only ones there being served late. We got our food as take away so very expensive cold kebabs for dinner tonight. Disappointing to say the least.

Staff were so friendly and service fantastic. More importantly the food was outstanding. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to return

Like many new restaurants, Liban Tapas has revamped the decor but ignored any consideration of noise in their layout design.

We ate here for the first time recently. The quality of the food was very good, the staff very friendly & the decor was great. However, there are a coupe of things... the wine was very pricey given the small glass size and overall the meal was a little expensive when compared to the local (similar) competition. My advice is try and bring an average meal for 2 closer to the local competition and be a little more generous e.g. a little more wine and some free bread & sauce for the table.

Eagerly awaited the opening of this new restaurant as I do love Lebanese food and would go to Shepherds Market to eat.
