Let's Get Roasted in North Devon

Cannot give any stars as place didn't seem to exist, followed map and 3 promenard is a double fronted place with sofa's no name on the front and closed although on checking for places to eat said it was open, did show any signs of being somewhere to eat.

Still showing as open on Google but shut down a while ago.... Apparently no plans to reopen.

First visited on 25th January and visited multiple times after for brunch and breakfast. OMG, roast meat baps (Ham and Mustard and Pulled Pork with Apple Sauce) with roast potatoes and gravy may be my new favourite thing. Sadly the business was asked to leave the premises by the landlord at short notice so it closed at the property on the seafront in May 2023. Fingers crossed they get a chance to re-open elsewhere

Great friendly service very dog friendly with very good food.

Came for Sunday lunch and food and staff were fantastic. One of the best carvery’s we have had, good selection of fresh vegetables all piping hot and well cooked, massive homemade Yorkshire puddings, pigs in blankets, stuffing, honey roasted parsnips, potatoes were amazing so crispy, meat was lovely and gravy was something else, so tasty! High recommend, 10/10 and the staff were very attentive and friendly 👍

Had the breakfast looked so small on the plate but was so filling and nice bacon was cooked very nice , coffee was standard but did not go for that all in all recommend. Both staff members very friendly.

We came down to Ilfracombe for a family gathering and were very disorganized in finding somewhere to have dinner on the Saturday night. On Saturday morning I walked in and booked a table for 15 adults. They were so accommodating when I later rang to update our booking to 14 adults, one baby and one dog. They had reserved the entire bar area for us! We got our drinks pretty quickly, had to wait an hour for food but wow it was worth the wait! Not a single complaint from anyone in our party. The roast dinners were particularly impressive and the puddings disappeared very fast too. I would highly recommend it. The staff were so lovely :)

Great food, took its time to get to us considering the place was almost empty at the time but was worth waiting for. Really nice staff.

What a lovely eating place they do lovely food! they have a separate part where people with dogs can sit with their owners and another part where people without dogs can sit food is delicious! And a good price! Staff are so friendly a very good service can highly recommend and we will be back

We really wanted to like this place as its local and would be a gem. Seaviews are a bonus. We went in the previous night to try and book a table, was stood at the bar for around 5 mins but there was no one about at all, so we called to book in for a sunday carvery. When on the phone we did advise we would have a pushchair with us as we appreciate it can be awkward to accomodate. We did orginally get put on a table out the way which I couldn't even attempt to get the pushchair to but the lady happily changed to a bigger table. We then didn't get our orders taken for I would say around 20 mins. 2 soft drinks and 2 carveries was our order so nothing too complicated The place itself wasn't heaving, it was busy but you would expect that on a Sunday. We went up to get our food but no sign of a drink throughout the whole meal. We didn't hang about waiting to eat as our baby was asleep so wanted to make the most of a hot meal and assumed drinks wouldn't be long. Was hard to try and catch someone as they were bombing around oblivious. No one even asked us if everything was okay with the food (like at most places.. they usually come mid mouthful haha) 2 tables (one of which a large group) seated and had drinks orders taken and delivered straight away. The food itself was mixed. Pork was cooked perfectly and so were the parsnips and veg. The beef was veryyy chewy, unable to properly cut through it with a normal knife. Yorkies and stuffing (usually my fave bit) were a let down. It all just felt a little tired. We ate up (as much as we could) and just wanted to leave which was sad as we saw they did puddings but the experience was already dissapointing. When I went to pay, I did advise that we hadn't actually had our drinks so obviously didn't want to pay for them. The lady asked if I had come up to the bar to check on them and chase it up? I personally feel if the service level was a bit higher then they would have noticed we didn't even have a drink on the table. I also wouldn't have known how long I would have been standing there waiting for someone if the previous night was anything to go by.. my dinner probably would have gone cold! I appreciate Sundays are busier and they may have been potentially short staffed but the customer shouldn't have to feel the brunt of it. All in all, such a dissapointment. Maybe we got them on a bad day but it just means we won't be trying it again and won't be recommending it either.

Lovely food, very good value and the staff are super friendly and make you feel extremely welcome. Highly recommended and they serve a very good pint.

Lovely chicken korma very tasty! Well looked after by all the staff who are so nice & friendly. Would recommend their food to anyone & is well worth the visit when your in iifracombe. So wished we discovered them before, but will be down again soon to see them. Sue & Tim

We had lunch there yesterday and it was superb. We both had the roast of the day (beef) and everything about it was good. Tremendous value for money and the service was great too!

We were afraid we may have been too late for a Sunday Carvery when we came across this inviting place at gone 3p.m on a Sunday afternoon but we’re in luck as they serve til 5. We thought maybe the food would be past it’s best late into the afternoon but not at all! A fresh turkey joint was brought out and a generous helping of all 3 meats was served by a really friendly chap. My sister had the veggie carvery option of nut roast, freshly prepared with a generous individual jug of veggie gravy. There was lots of delicious veg to help yourself to including proper homemade cauliflower cheese along side huge homemade Yorkshire puds, pigs in blankets, stuffing balls, crispy roast parsnips and potatoes, all hot and plentiful. Service was friendly from seating us, taking our order and checking we were enjoying our food. Two very satisfied customers!

We were looking for somewhere to have breakfast when we came across Let's Get Roasted. We are so glad that we decide to pop in, the breakfast was very good, hot and tasty. The service was good and friendly, it set us up for the boat trip later that day. I would definitely recommend Let's Get Roasted

What an absolute gem of a place. Carvery is second to none and I would highly recommend this venue. Staff very friendly and obliging. Will be going there for breakfast next.

Nice surroundings, fairly good service and solid meals. Can't really knock it, but it's obviously a seaside cafe, not five-star dining. Only one of our meals came out wrong, so that's an 80% success rate.

For a place that is literally called "Let's get roasted" it really doesn't live up to the name. The meat was so dry the server struggled to even cut it, most of the veg was run out and had to wait for new to come in. Whilst waiting for parsnips, the server asked someone who I can only guess is some sort of manager for a time on the potato's in which the "manager" shouted back at her "Well they're going to be 20 minutes now because you didn't tell them!" When I looked at the servers face she looked like she could burst into tears. It made me extremely uncomfortable. If a staff member would talk to their colleague like that infront of a whole line of customers, god only knows how she talks to them behind closed doors. I'd suggest a course on customer service/management skills.

Bit of a mixed review - frequented the previous premises for take away roast which was superb! My kid also adored it , and it was our favourite place . Thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday carvery a while back, which was generous and well cooked . Ate again recently, was short staffed and staff were stressed and rushed . Person serving us was really lovely, tried so hard to help, was youngest there but very aware of how good service should be ! Food took a lonnnnnnng time to arrive, was undercooked, veg was hard , had no flavour to the sauce etc

A carvery without roast potatoes is unacceptable, furthermore when I enquired the staff were rude bordering ignorant. Clearly staff training is required for dealing with the “paying” public and food preparation and timing. If you are prepared to settle for conveyor belt service this is the place to go; if you want value for money and a memorable dining experience stay well away.

Went for breakfast before heading home and it was okay, the table was sticky and not very well cleaned. Asked for table water and got dirty plastic cups and a jug. The young girl seemed like she didn’t want to be there. Food was okay

A pretty poor dining experience that we had yesterday. When we arrived (on a Saturday lunchtime) the restruant was empty which isn't a great sign. We were greated by friendly staff and was pointed to the other side of the restruant rather than being shown to our seats. The young gentleman serving us was nice enough but had no experience at all and after taking our order walked away and later came back saying 'do you want me to take the menus back?' The pizza I ordered came undercooked but passable however I wouldn't re order. My boyfriends burger apparently tasted like it had already been cooked and re-heated and looked dry. We couldn't have made the staff aware of these issues as nobody seemed to be around. The restruant itself is pretty dated and overall wouldn't recommend this place to others. After reading previous reviews it seems that the owner cannot take constructive critisism well and therefore nothing has improved. A shame really considering the location would be perfect for a decent restruant to take its place.

We had a 2 day break and arrived to the establishment for evening meal on Monday 4th July 2022 and we was just in time to eat arriving at 7.50 pm . I had the Rump Steak and my wife had the Cod and Chips. I am very critical when i eat out because i have my own Steak house in Devon but i have to say it was cooked to perfection and i told the owner how please i was and we went back the next day for the buffet breakfast which again was very well stocked and very tasty good quality. I will certainly go back the next time i go Ilfracombe and would recommend this restaurant. 10/10

Walking past about 7.45pm thought oh looks nice I'll grab takeaway coffee .huge mistake .asked for cappuccino .probably the worst cappuccino ever lol although staff were very friendly but the owners obviously want to charge near the same price as starbucks and costa with way below par coffee. If you wish to charge these prices I dont mind althiugh staff need trained on how to make proper coffee and use decent coffee with it .shame as it looks a lovely place and girl and woman were very friendly its down to the owners ........if you have good reviews regarding g your coffee why is there also another bad review further down regarding flat white 🙄

Great atmosphere. Stopped here for a latte, staff attentive and immediately as we arrived we were asked for our order, which arrived quickly. Although we didn’t wish food we viewed the menu which was extensive which is ideal. Lots to choose from at reasonable prices.

This was the most amazing night, fabulous food, the staff couldn't do enough for us and the entertainment, Dave Sharp, from the Alarm was exceptional. What more could you ask for a night out and the bonus was it was free entertainment. Great venue, great food, great staff, great venue 👍Thank you "let's get Roasted"

Staff are extremely rude, vile young girl who works Sunday’a needs a change of career. Would not eat here.

Came across this place completely by chance one Sunday and decided to go back for roast dinner after our boat trip. Heads up, they allow dogs in the front area and outside but not in the restaurant. The food was fantastic, well cook and real meat - not the grizzly fatty stuff you get at Toby Carvery! All the trimmings, sauces and with real gravy. £64 for 5 adult meals and could go up for more! Well worth a visit for a decent meal.

We had lunch here on Sunday which was pleasant enough, however, to get this right the following needs to be adjusted. 1. The restaurant is to cold. 2. The meat was tough in particular the beef. 3. The food on the whole was cold 🥶 . 4. The bacon on the pigs and blankets needs more cooking to render the fat. 5. The waitress needs more knowledge on the products she is selling as she had to go to the bar and return to advise what was on offer to sell. 6. On a plus it was nice to see a varied selection of vegetables but unfortunately all cold. Carveries are great when done correctly but good effort, Chef was chatty and helpful. Please take this as positively constructed criticism.

A wonderful restaurant and wonderful staff. Food was amazing and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We were accommodated very last minute for a family meal and although the place was busy service was perfect. Would highly recommend and will be back again...

We came here for breakfast this morning and had the buffet cooked breakfast.  The waitress was friendly and the food looked good.  However when I had a mouthful of my Scrambled eggs I ended up chewing on a piece of metal that resembled a metal staple! I told the waitress and she apologised and told me to just scrape the eggs off onto another plate. My partner then went to open a marmalade sachet that he had got from the basket and saw that it had already been opened and was half eaten! The marmalade incident  was only minor and I wouldn't normally complain about it but it just added to the disappointment with our meal. We went to pay at the end we were charged the full price with barely an apology for the poor experience.  It seemed like they weren't really that bothered and I was surprised we were offered no compensation or reduction.  An offer of a free drink would have been something. It's put me off going there again.

A lovely cafe on the Promenade in Ilfracombe. We walked past on Saturday but ventured in today whilst looking for a hot drink & a bite to eat on a cold winter's day. And we weren't disappointed, it was quite busy and we had a warm welcome, not only for us but also our pooch. We sat in the very comfy armchairs by the front door. We had a pot of tea, a hot chocolate with cream and a fruit based fizzy water. We enjoyed a piece of the vegan chocolate cake, a large baked potato with beef chilli and another with tuna mayonnaise. The service was excellent and all of our food and drinks arrived together. We enjoyed our relaxed visit to Let's Get Roasted. It's a small locally run business that's right on the sea front at Ilfracombe and is well worth a visit. The baked potatoes were lovely, cooked just right. The decor is modern and fresh, and there is a bar area serving a range of alcoholic drinks including lager and wine. The facilities were all very clean. There's also seating outside along the Promenade, right opposite the beach. Everyone, the staff and customers were very friendly 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟. We certainly found the service & food to be better than the current rating on Google suggests 🍴 ☕️ 🍵 🍫 🥔.

We came here for lunch after a surf in Woolacombe, we had the jacket potato with vegetarian chilli and cheese, it was a really delicious, large portion and really hit the spot! Staff were friendly and the views out the window were great

Had a 2 day rest in hotel next door Came into the first day of arrival did not feel welcome, then 2nd day which (was xmas day) to sort out a xmas meal, I looked at the menu and noticed it was priced for 3 courses, due to not being able to eat large amounts of food which i had stated to the owner no other foods were available and was not offered the main xmas dish on it's own so that day i sat in my car for awhile and felt let down upset and lonely not to meantion hungry also it being first xmas without my mum.. So grateful i have my pooch..never visit again that place again..

Ordered a flat white and latte. What arrived can only be described as tepid brown milk. Not impressed. Hot chocolate for a 3yr old was hotter than lava.

What a great new location to eat a full English. Walked in at 08:00, and greeted by the owner and host Jason, who is a really nice and friendly guy and really couldn't be any more accommodating. I asked about the breakfast buffet, £8.95 with a drink, tea, coffee, orange juice you then help yourself to sausage, bacon, beans, tomato, black pudding, scrambled egg, hash browns and toast and you can go up as many times as you want. Great experience, I'll have to go back and try the carvery next, hope it all goes well. Definitely be back again.

Found this amazing Sunday roast takeaway shop. Food is out of this world, reall well cooked, huge portions, tasty, tasty,tasty.... Friendly staff Delivered for £2.00... You would be hard pushed to find this quality in a good resteraunt... Will be ordering for Sunday too...😋..

Weather its a weekday wanting a hot pork bap or a Sunday for your roast both times I visited were worth the wait great food cooked from scratch no aunt Bessie's puddings here you get the real deal 10/10 fro. Me
