Lessiter's in Welwyn Hatfield

Really disappointed to visit the cafe for cakes to takeaway only to be told they were sold out! Don’t know who manages stock control but I won’t be rushing back.

Lessiters on the main London road to Knebworth or Welwyn depending which way you travel. Car park on site and was in the past a chocolate factory with shop , now with an inside and out tea room added. Nice relaxing atmosphere with good service , selling hot/col drinks and cakes. Then you can see all the chocolate goodies in their store before or after your visit.

Lessiter's chocolate range is one of the best I have tasted. The shop and coffee area is delightful. Clean, bright and airy on sunny days there are tables outside. An ideal venue to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and eat a slice of the delicious Gluten Free cakes they have on offer, or biscuit or croissant. I meet with friends there to catch up with our news. Such a luxury after the months of Lock down. THe Halloween range of chocolates are on display. Don't miss it!

This is one of those places I don’t want to tell people about. Gorgeous cakes, great coffee. There are only a few, well spaced tables and in fine weather there are a few tables outside. They only do cakes and drinks. And the cafe area is part of the very tempting shop.

First visit, and I was very disappointed. The chocolate torte was dry, and it was not a torte, it was a sponge cake. When I raised this with the Manager, I was told that it was supposed to be a dry cake (I’m not sure that’s a thing!) The cake was reluctantly swapped, as a “gesture of goodwill” which I thought was a poor response. Sadly my replacement lemon drizzle cake was also dry and horrible. As was my friends carrot cake. Drinks weren’t all that either. Overpriced and won’t be visiting again.

Lovely place to visit for coffee and a cake plus shopping for chocolate presents. Excellent service, Covid safe and great selection of products. Well worth a visit

We had been promising ourselves a coffee at Lessiter's and cake ever since lockdown ended. We ordered two coffees, only to find that all of the cartons of milk available were off and so we were offered free soft drinks instead. Given that there is a supermarket just one mile away, it seemed a bit odd that nobody dashed off to buy some fresh milk; we would not have minded waiting ten minutes. The Sacherorte was a tad dry

Lovely to be back open with very friendly server however to use a nespresso machine is not acceptable. Beautiful refit and good cakes but need a proper coffee machine.

The coffee was fine and the cakes excellent. The staff were friendly and efficient. We enjoyed looking around the shop afterwards. I would have given 5 stars if the parking had been easier - fine when we arrived but by the time we left it was awkward to get out (and people were looking for tables inside - this was a Friday afternoon).

I was really looking forward to going to Lessiter's as a birthday treat as I'd watched it being refurbished, but on our visit we were rather disappointed. My friend and I each chose a slice of chocolate cake which turned out to be very dry. The cream we were offered on the side of the plate was watery and just sort off disintegrated. I was pleased to see that Lessiter's offer Luscombe Lemonade but if it were not for that I'm afraid I would have given only a POOR review.

Perfect for chocolate pressies as well as sitting chatting to friends, visit this place for a yummy experience.

Had hoped this place could be a regular place to meet up but sadly not the case. Limited car parking, few tables inside and bit a great selection of cakes. Coffee was average.

Often pop in here to buy chocolates as presents for friends. Always end up having a coffee and cake. Very friendly staff and excellent service. Don't miss this place if you are passing by.

You could miss this when you drive past but look out for it because it is definitely worth a visit. The range of chocolate is outstanding and beautifully decorated Easter bunnies start at £2.50 and go up to £90. Choice is excellent and the flavours and designs are amazing. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed and offered samples of the chocolate on sale in the shop. We had coffee overlooking the kitchen and although nobody was working in there, we could see the chocolate pouring into the machines. There was even chocolate pouring from floor to ceiling behind a screen. Definitely worth a visit.

As a chocoholic a visit to Lessiters is like a trip to nirvana. Great hand made chocolates and truffles.

If you love chocolate you must visit . Greeted by friendly staff with a sample of the chocolate that is being made on the day . A huge selection of all manner of chocolates . I have yet to try the hot chocolate but have heard it is the best . If you want something special this is the place to go .

The best hot chocolate we have tasted and a tempting variety of treats at this cosy cafe and factory shop. Fun to sit next to a window into the chocolate lab where delicious moulded Easter eggs and animals are being crafted, while drinking and eating wonderful chocolate treats. Friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand and you even get a loyalty card to store up for future coffees. its truly like a real life Willy Wonka's experience, and the range of 'Secret Truffletier' products is imaginative and beautifully presented. Went home with Expresso Truffles, milk chocolate hearts and Caramelised Almond Dark Chocolate. Fantastic!

Visit here if you like really good but unpretentious chocolate. From huge bunnies and squirrels to delicately flavoured champagne truffles this is an amazing place. Enjoy wonderful Hot Chocolate (or premium coffee if you must) and cakes as you watch the chocolate artist at work behind a glass screen. Lessiters make white labelled high end chocolates for famous brands so for confidentiality reasons there is no longer a factory tour, but the display from the shop and cafe is great. Their own brand chocolates are superb: I especially liked the lovely Christmas truffles which were made to look (but not taste) like Brussels Sprouts.

Visit here weekly with the family. The staff are really welcoming and always have a smile on their face. The coffee is excellent and the chocolate is also unbelievable. I wish i could name all the staff who are so helpful when were their but I only know Bethan who is always smiling and making amazing coffees :). Looking forward to the next visit.

We have adopted this chocolate shop/factory as our coffee shop of choice as we love to smell the chocolate and watch the chocolate items being made whilst having a coffee/tea and hot chocolate. Unlike some well known coffee shops there are never any queues and the staff are always welcoming and greet us with a 'chocolate of the day'. Great place for presents - thoroughly recommended,

Which is an extremely good coffee house. Cakes and treats are available and the staff are always pleasant and helpful. I thoroughly recommend this place and my advantage is that it is just round the corner!

Certainly the best place to buy chocolate in all its incarnations - truffles, Easter eggs, bars, and hot drinking too!

The best chocolate ever and the staff so helpful, full of advice and well informed. Can’t believe I live in the same village as this lovely place! Pay a visit soon!

Excellent little outlet! We had the champagne biscuits, which were rich and filling; an amazing hot chocolate with dark choc sprinkled on top; mint tea and cappuccino (this is the only product that we were not impressed by as it was watery with no flavour ).They have three small tables and plenty of choices. There's a screen that shows the production process.Service was friendly and we had a nice time :)

Beautiful chocolate . A bit pricy , but worth it . All made on the premises . Great welcome and now gave a coffee shop .

the chocolates sold here are made on site and are of a very high quality and good variety - the staff are really friendly and always offer you a sample chocolate as soon as you walk in the door - huge range of packaged chocolates and also a pick your own selection - they have a small coffee shop area and recently have started selling home made cakes and the most delicious biscuits

They supply chocolates and truffles to independent and high end shops. The chocolates are very tasty, very fresh and with a coffee shop an ideal pit stop.
