Great pub! No food, but wonderful JohnLeslie ale. Good food up the street at the Bell Tavern.

Stumbled on this pub by chance, popped in for a couple of “research” pints. Friendly service, a couple of their own-branded beers, Landlord on tap (not to mention very reasonable prices), dog-friendly, lovely traditional interior. This won’t be my last visit!

A decent whisky menu and good beers. Prices are very good. 35ml pours on whisky.

And didn't like it in the pub. There was neither a pub feeling nor friendly service here. We then moved on to another pub.

If you are looking for an authentic pub a little away from the tourists, this is the place for you. The historical ambience is beautifully preserved. The bartender was very friendly and gave us good tips about the very good whiskey selection, but also answered questions about the history of the pub. We'd love to come back next time we're in Edinburgh. Thank you for the lovely evening!

Top little bar, was the first that we visited when we came to Edinburgh as it was round the corner from our guest house. Proper traditional pub with impressive central bar, staff were nice and a decent selection of beers :)

Local pub that is dangerously good. Beautiful period fittings and intricate chandeliers like you're in the Dresden opera house or something. Good beer selection at very reasonable prices. Attentive but not overbearing service. And subdued music which encourages conversation. The only downside is I'm trying not to drink so much which is complicated by the presence of this pub at the end of my road.

Fantastic historic bar serving cask and keg beer. Selection was a bit small on a Friday night and a fair few beers were off.

Great historical old school pub dating from the 1890s with original fixtures and fittings. The serving area is in middle of the establishment effectively splitting the pub in middle - in the old days one half was the 'lounge' part used by the upper classes with the other half of the bar area frequented by the working class. Its now a listed pub and is not part of a chain. Has a great selection of cask ales and whiskey. The wine selection isn't bad either.

Pretty much my local, has possibly one of the cheapest pints (and a good one at that!) in Edinburgh with their own ale at £3.60 a pint. It's dog friendly and has a great old feel with separated sections of the bar and multiple areas for service and drink delivery. Bar staff have always been polite and friendly, the place is clean and comfortable. They don't turn up the music too loud, don't have the TV on sports etc so you can relax and chat properly. My only little gripes: - it can get pretty busy on a Friday PM, and some other (somewhat boistrous) customers took over my little table without asking if it was okay. But that's not really the pub's fault. - the toilets could use a bit of a spruce up, I like in a way that they are a bit old fashioned but they also aren't that nice - I'd like some food options, even just some sandwiches, but I get that it's not really a priority and is a small thing

Nice to see a traditional Scottish pub thriving. A little bit of heaven in the world of bulls1t pubs we seem to have these days.

It's an amazing bar. I have been going there for over a year now. The atmosphere there is incredible. Lovely and kind staff. Great selection of cask beers and always love my visits over here.

Joined in the fortnightly pub quiz (3rd out of 19 teams, hurrah), lots of fun. Used to attend regularly but have moved away, so this was a flying visit. Quizmaster, bar staff and other teams remembered us and were so welcoming. Lovely pint or two of Leslie's lager too. Leslie's is a lovely pub, I'd recommend a visit if you like a traditionally decorated pub with top beers and lovely staff.

Was looking forward to popping into lounge as hadn’t been for a while. Saw some friends there too. However the wee jug bar door to lounge was wedged open. Awful draft so we closed it. Barmaid said regulars liked it open for more light. Then a customers huge dog farted and the smell wafted into lounge. Well that put us off our drinks. Won’t be back until attitude changes re jug bar door being wedged open.

If you want a beautiful Bloody Mary, this is the place. Excellent pint of weihenstephan also - very rare to see this on tap!

A fantastic bar if you like good beer with plenty of choices in a friendly atmosphere with much character and history. The staff were first class and very attentive to our needs. This is a classic pub with much history and good old fashion customer service. Well worth a visit whether a local or on a visit to Edinburgh any time of the year.

Stumbled across this pub by chance, and really pleased I did! We just had a drink, but the lady serving us was so friendly. Having just moved to the city, it was a really welcoming experience. Pub itself was really cosy, lots of side rooms to sit. Will definitely be back!

Great to visit a proper bar with great service , I hadn’t been here for many years, it was so good to have a decent chat with the owner.

Nagyon kulturált és szép kocsma, nagyon kedves és segítőkész felszolgáló hölgyekkel. Szombat este nem voltak sokan és főként idősebb helyieket láttunk akik törzsvendégeknek tűntek. Az árak is rendben voltak helyi viszonylatban. Ajánlom!

We booked for Hogmanay, but unfortunately had to leave as one of our party wasn't feeling well. However, the staff were lovely and very welcoming. Also good beers on tap.

Amazing place, I was there three years ago. The titular is amazing, i was in trouble finding the beer to try. He said that I can try a little bit of some beers ( without paying) and when I found the correct, I will order that. Amazing amazing amazin

Great traditional Edinburgh pub. Ornate ceilings and cornicing in a dark wood setting makes Leslies a warm and cosy environment. Always has a good range of beers and whiskies. Thoroughly recommended.

Leslie's is a lovely old traditional pub which I frequent on many an afternoon whilst walking the dog. Very friendly staff and a great range of beers including Leslie's IPA. Well worth a visit.

I am not an experienced drinker, but we went here because my name is Leslie. The bartender was very patient with me and discussed all the different gins, particularly English ones. After all he recommended one my not very picky palate was very satisfied with. The ambiance feels very Scottish and we enjoyed our before dinner drink.
