I am a Southport resident and found it incredible that this pub closed at 6pm because of a parade that afternoon. I felt that we were to blame for this for some reason, the truth being that they took decent money during the afternoon so we're closing now. Total contempt for people who actually live in Southport! Obviously not business minded people, especially considering the pub has run down in recent years and doesn't take much money anymore, or so it appears to me because I pass it all the time (being a local resident) and it's never full anymore.

We were walking down Lord Street (main street in Southport) at about 4:45pm on a Saturday afternoon and as I looked down a side street (towards the pier) I could see people outside of Leo’s bar dancing and having a good time. Based on this, myself and partner decided to pay the bar a visit. There was a karaoke on (2-6pm). The place was packed and everyone was having a good time (mainly couples 30 and above). We stayed for a few drinks. There was a torrential down pour and the roof leaked in in several places but the bar staff were straight on it with their jugs and buckets wiping things down. I don’t think this little set back dampened anyone’s spirits and it got a lot of the customers engaging with one another. I only haven’t given the place 5 stars as I think the bar staff could be more friendlier and look happy!

Visited with a friend day 2 of the outdoor drinking only unlock .. I found the staff friendly the beer was good quality if a bit overpriced.. relatively small outdoor area but adequate on a sunny day .. no cover or any sign of heating for when the weather inevitably changes ... will definitely visit again ... when the suns out

On a really hot afternoon, yes it might surprise people that every 20 or 30 years we actually get a hot day even in what is jokingly called our " summer " we dropped into this bar and had a very pleasant visit. A nice bar, only small ,nice decor and furnishings, a cute looking serving bar and despite its relatively small size there's plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside. We were here on a Friday afternoon, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the staff, we gave our details of name and phone number to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands and ordered a fruit cider each, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back and took in the great pub we were in and planned out the day ahead while sipping our ciders. Every now and again I enjoy a cooling cider, this was tasty, iced cold and certainly cut through the thirst, very refreshing on a hot afternoon. We really enjoyed our ciders in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time . Leo's Bar is easy to locate along Nevill Street, its close to the Queen Victoria Monument. A really good pub, if your in the area most definitely well worth a visit.

Nice friendly place. Cheap too. Happy "hour" 3pm to 7pm. Phone charger lockers are dead handy. Oh, £4 for a Strongbow and a Smiths.

Called in for a quick drink whilst the football was being aired on sky. Very small inside and where we stood to get served was told we would have to go to the other side of the bar as they don't serve at that end. Not the politest or cleanest so glad only had 1 quick drink. I heard about 3 glasses being smashed from behind the bar it was like everything that was touched was dropped. I don't know who the local guy is who was in there whether he just hired help but needs to sort his feet out as if food was served it would be off putting.

This pub is always great to sit outside when the sun allows and watch the world go by.Granted it is not the best in Southport but we still try to pop in when visiting the town.Needless to stay we can scratch this one of the list.Whilst trying to find the gents my partner asked the woman behind the bar (who had her back to him) where they where, to be told "I'm on the f***ing phone" to which he apologised and then she replied with "this is a "f***ing important phone call".Needless to say someone else pointed out the gents. When the said woman came outside to collect glasses I questioned her as to why she had swore at my partner. This she totally denied, saying she never said such a thing and that she does not swear...LOL.....perhaps she needed a phone in her hand to unleash the real foul mouthed barmaid within.Money spends anywhere.....don't bother spending it in this place!

we were in Southport for the bank holiday weekend. We visited this pub for drinks only. From the outside the pub looks quite large but inside it is a little on the small side and some areas are a little cramped although there is some outside seating. The toilets are also very small with limited space. It took quite some time to get served here although it was a bank holiday weekend.

Having just arrived in southport popped in here for a quick drink, there only about 10 people in there, it was karaoke night and hardly any takers (about 2), but it was good fun, the dj was a laugh, can imagine its a fab place in the summer.

A small, compact cafe with a friendly, inclusive atmosphere. Definitely a cut above the average park cafe - nice coffee and a good selection of cakes and traybakes. The breakfasts looked good as well.

I briefly popped into Waterfields today and I was very pleasantly surprised at the selection. The cakes and snacks were extensively stocked behind the counter and were very reasonably priced at under £2 each. I bought a cupcake with vanilla cream on top which was delicious! The staff serving were friendly, polite and efficient. You can also sit in to eat, if you wish. The only issue was that the loaves of bread/toasties were running out, then again it was 3pm so this was understandable. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit!

Expensive for what you get. Service was great but you can feel the place is just designed to get as much money as they can for what little they give

This used to be a good bar but is now just a high priced dog compound. 9 dogs in this very small bar. Wouldn't order food given the smell of dogs and lack of washing of hands by bar staff after feeding treats to the dog. Don't bother, there are better alternatives in Formby.
