We stayed at this hotel for one night after a cruise - 4 stars are highly overrated. The furnishings in the rooms don't match at all - the bed should be new - everything else is old. Wallpaper has holes in it, the bathtub is so scratched - you think it hasn't been cleaned and there's a lot of hair in it, the joints are broken, the washbasin is so low - it's more suitable for children. In the lobby there is a carpet with holes and furniture from the 50s/60s. The price of the room at just over £200 for one night without breakfast was not worth it and very overpriced. The location is positive, right next to the cruise terminal and you are also right in the center.

Lovely hotel, really nice entrance and plenty of space to relax downstairs. Staff were great. The pool was lovely and warm and the jacuzzi was hot. I would stay again but the bathroom was very dated and there were little things all over that needed doing. Pool stairs need painting, broken window, etc, etc. Didn’t try Marcos restaurant after reading the reviews.

Great stay. Nice hotel. Excellent breakfast. Strangely, we were greeted by 6-7 bottles on the floor next to our room 102 door when we checked in. They went away the next day. In-room instant coffee Coffee, tea, and Nespresso with shortbread cookies and two complementary bottles of water were provided. A nice touch. Everything was reasonably clean and modern. If you inspect closely there were just a few places where the cleaning and maintenance could be improved in the bathroom. A few toothpaste spatters on the wallpaper, marks on the door and moulding, etc. The bathtub tile grout is showing a bit of age and is a bit yellowed. There are USB ports on the nightstands, but strangely they were not able to charge my pixel 6 phone either via a wireless qi charger or directly plugged in. I had to instead charge using my backup battery. My wife could not use her iphone wireless qi charger either, but was successful by plugging it in directly via a cable. Never had that problem before. Perhaps they are under powered or defective? Still glad to give a recommendation.

Lovely hotel. We were upgraded after leaving a note on our booking saying it was my birthday and left a very cute card and treats to enjoy as a gift. Very beautiful room with loads of space and hotel was beautiful inside and out. Staff were lovely and helpful. Would 100% recommend.

Very good hotel, with professional and attentive staff. Excellent location close to the cruise terminal at Southampton Docks, with shopping centre 5 mins walk away and numerous pleasant parks. Room was generally very comfortable and clean, but a small niggle with the bathroom sink which leaked on the floor (this was raised but not fixed by the time we checked out).

Hotel was situated within walking distance of the cruise ship terminal. Has a nice solarium off the back of the hotel. Our air conditioner was not functioning well and the hotel quickly brought in a large fan for us as there were no available rooms. The fan did the trick!

Stayed the night before we boarded our cruuse 26th April 24. Upgraded to an Executive King Room, for our 30th Wedding Anniversary which was outstanding. Customer service was excellent, and throughly enjoyed the balcony, robes, slippers, champagne and wine. Thank you so much for making our Anniversary and cruise so special and we will definitely be back! Beautiful hotel!

Really disappointed trip yesterday, came for my daughters 13 th birthday to enjoy the pool only to be told she wouldn’t be able to swim after 7pm . I understand small children shouldn’t be there but it was her birthday night it was just her and I however I was quite rudely told she wasn’t allowed in after 7 . Then the card keys didn’t work on THREE occasions on the third occasion I thought they might of apologised seen as I was on the third floor but no in fact quite the opposite . Staff not welcoming either and didn’t feel they treated my daughter fairly on her special day when I had tried so so hard to make it special for her working six days a week to pay for it for a month . Also the lift stank of men and cigarettes it was awful please clean them more . And stop letting people smoke outside it’s off putting for women

We were so looking forward to our stay. The hotel looked amazing and, on the whole, it was. It was a shame the reception let it down so badly. Arrived early, 2pm to be advised, check in from 3pm. We had reservations for afternoon tea at 3.30 too. We were told to leave our luggage at the concierge and come back later. (We had been travelling from Manchester since around 9am). We left our cases as advised and returned at 2.50pm. Lots of people collecting their keys and going to their rooms. Approached and asked could we check in now and again was told, ‘Check in is 3pm!’ Of course I asked if that was for us or for everybody as other guests were arriving and given immediate check ins. I was told it was ‘luck of the draw’ and told to come back in 10 minutes. 10 minutes later, the receptionist finally chased up housekeeping to see if our room was ready! (Why was this not done earlier?) Obviously, I wasn’t happy and asked to speak to a manager. Surprise, surprise. No one available! In a meeting! They could contact me later! As if I’m going to sit in my room waiting for who knows, how long. We had afternoon tea booked at 3.30pm. By the time we were sorted, we couldn’t eat it. Woke early next morning and went down to the pool. Jacuzzi closed! Really disappointed. Hotel is lovely, location is great. Customer service is very poor!

Me and my wife stayed at this hotel for one night on the 13th April 2024 as it was my wifes birthday. Hotel facilities were good, but hotel manager ( believe her name was Georgianne) was a disgrace. Arrived at 2pm and had a view drinks in the bar nice atmosphere, booked in at reception 3pm and used a £150 voucher which was discussed with the manger as she hadnt seen this type of voucher before? We gave her the option that if it wasnt accepted it wasnt a problem as we only lived 30mins away and would have our meal and go home. Manager said she would accept it so we thought all was sorted. Went and had nice meal that evening in Rick stein resturant then retired to our room. But in the morning when checking out the manager had decided she wasnt going to accept the voucher and automatically took the £150 pounds from our account. Manager had lied to our faces and when we were finally able to talk with her days later she just brushed it off. Nice hotel but with mangament like that would not use again.

We went to a scientific event to spend the entire day. The staff is very friendly and the facilities are very nice. It is well maintained and exudes a mix of classic glamor mixed with modernity. The food was not bad. Not great either. In conclusion, it was a good experience!

Awesome Hotel. Clean, welcoming, high standards, lovely rooms, comfy beds. Nice pool, sun was coming in through the glass making us feel like we were outside in the sun!! Great facilities, helpful staff. Breakfast cooked to perfection, consisting of a cooked breakfast, selection of oats/yoghurt, selection of breads and croissants and coffee. Really nice lounging areas, cannot fault this Hotel, was even upgraded to a triple room from a double at no extra cost!!!! Really good value for money. Thank you we had an awesome weekend!!

Really beautiful hotel, I took my boyfriend there for our 5 year anniversary and the hotel was so lovely, gave us a bottle of bubbly and some chocolates, unfortunately the hottub was out of order but everything else was so lovely!! Would definitely go back again. Plus 5 mins walk to ikea!!

Spa day, within a tired pool area with half the lights not working, flickering or covers missing. Fortunately good sauna and steam room. Jacuzzi not working and not told before arrival, and only seating for 8 people around the pool, so you just have to hope you can actually relax somewhere. Toilet leaking in the mens changing rooms with only 1 shower working in the women's and 2 in the mens you may have to wait to get changed.

Great hotel, very helpful staff. They let us check in a bit earlier which was very nice. Hotel room was very clean and nicely decorated. Only complaint is the swimming pool area is in desperate need of a refurb. Lots of rust on the stairs. Just bring flip flops and you can go for a swim :)

Cons We booked for 3 nights and stayed in 3 rooms Hotel of this stature doesn't have disability accessible rooms. First room only a bath, no rails. Second room, small shower that was at least 30cm off the ground. No stool available. Oh and no heating! Third room, had heating but same shower issue. Still waiting for a shower stool! Pros Staff were great, they did their best to help, including offering to help us move the bags. They even gave us 1 complimentary drink between two of us. Should have learnt after a disastrous stay in a different Leonardo hotel the night of my wedding and the night after

Amazing experience at this hotel. Stayed one night and wish it was longer. The bed was so huge and comfy, I had the best nights sleep. It is in a great location and plenty of stuff to do around it, shopping & food options ect and entertainment. However, the hotel was lovely and quiet ! The pool was lovely really clean and well looked after as were the rooms and also the water really warm which was nice. Breakfast was good set us up for the day and was worth it. Staff were all really nice Would love to stay again if back in the area!

Overwhelmed with the treatment we always receive when staying at the Grand Harbour/Leonardo Royal. On our most recent stay we received a complementary upgrade to exec room 252. The room/balcony provides fantastic panoramic views of the city and the harbour. The room itself very spacious and clean with complementary water. In the room there was a lovely note from the hotel manager next to some gifts that had been left for us and a invitation for a complementary drink in the hotel bar. The bar was very quiet (winter Wednesday night) but a chilled place to hang out, with friendly and attentive bar staff. Check in and out very smooth (you can opt to do both online) Location of the hotel is great, with good value parking option (especially if paid in advance). The hotel is easy walking distance to the city centre. I recommend a trip to the spa area which is included in the price of the stay. They have a pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. All well maintained and clean. Tip: bring pound coins for the lockers. There is also a gym, looks well equipped (albiet through the window, never used it 🙂) Thanks to the whole team for another nice stay!

The room was clean and well equipped and lovely decor with views of the cruise ships. The pool was an added bonus. I would definitely stay in a Leonardo hotel again.

Booked for 4 nights in February as a spa break. Unfortunately the spa pool ended up being replaced on the Monday we was there, on the Tuesday the pool was also shut. Please let people know of this work, maybe add it to your site beforehand so they are aware, as it makes a big difference when you a looking for a pool and spa pool to relax in on your break. The rest of the hotel was lovely, room was fantastic, spacious and very clean. Had a side sea view which was lovely. Restaurant and bar very nice, food was pricey but good. Hotel is in a great location, lots of options for parking. Red jet and ferry terminal to isle of wight 5 minutes walk away. West Quay shopping centre multi storey very cheap for long term parking. Shout out to Sylvia one of the cleaning team, fantastic lady, very proud of hotel and we had a lovely chat. Would definitely go again but hope the pool and spa is open on the next break.

Llegué aquí alrededor de las 9 pm el jueves 8 de agosto. Solo tomé una copa de vino y esperé a que mi teléfono se cargara. Estaba muy cansado después de 8 horas en coche. Fui a tomar otra copa, solo para que me dijeran que no me podían servir ya que estaba cansado y me dormía, absolutamente ridículo. El chico que me sirvió fue grosero y se levantó. Me gustaría ver cómo está este chico después de 8 horas en coche con niños. No lo recomiende, en vez de eso, me fui a la carretera y me sirvieron una copa. Muchos otros bares en la zona. Este bar perdió mi negocio. Creo que el chico que me atendió necesita trabajar en sus habilidades personales, solo que es muy extraño no salvarse por estar demasiado cansado. Estaba bastante avergonzado por él. Y el ambiente era tranquilo y plano, debe haber habido otras dos personas allí. No lo recomiendo. Ve a otro lugar para comer y beber donde el personal realmente quiere tu negocio.

burger is watery and the bun is soggy. don’t ever order from here as i rang up as i didn’t get enough change by £10 i noticed as i was walking with my food in my hand and the driver had basically ran away. i rang up the next day as i didn’t know i had to ring them bcs i paid with cash and not just eat. he told me that it wasn’t their problem and told me to come in to the shop to ‘talk’ but i wouldn’t get my money back. absolute tramps

The entire start to finish was a great experience with friendly staff, really clean and tidy restaurant. Will come definitely again. The Cajun chicken sharing pizza was so tasty, lots of flavours and a bit of spice, so nice, best pizza I’ve tasted. The salad bar was so fresh and crunchy.

I would like to write a glowing review about Fresh Shawarma, hands down the best place to get shawarma in all of Shirley. Despite being temporarily closed, Fresh Shawarma always provides a quality service, at a reasonable price, with friendly staff. There is free complimentary tea, a nice seating area, and extremely good food that is packed full of things that will make you more than full and satisfied. Overall, I would recommend, and I eagerly await the reopening.
