Don't normally leave reviews but feel like I must... Booked 2 rooms, 1 family superior, 1 executive with breakfast. For 2 nights First impressions were good, staff friendly, Ann Marie (manager) was lovely and helpful and assisted with some queries I had. Rooms were lovely and big, but on closer inspection. The extras we had paid for were nowhere to be seen, in either room. Brushed it off not wanting to complain about a few petty things missing. Went to the triumph bar to order food, was ripped off with one of the kids meals, staff couldn't care less. Again brushed it off. Woke up the next morning went for breakfast... What a disaster, only bacon and sausages left, time waiting for things to be topped up was shocking, no coffee in the machine, staff run off their feet but not one smile on their faces. I get the impression most staff couldn't care less. We got back went for a swim 5 till 6 with the kids. It was absolutely packed. Couldn't enjoy it as it was far too full. Went down for tea at the triumph bar and what an absolute disaster, we were told to order from the other bar as it was too busy, so we walks to the other bar for them to then ignore us and go serve in the original bar we were in. Took forever for someone to help the new lad check our order which was still put through wrong, we felt so sorry for staff being left in the lurch, after paying we were then told its over an hours wait for food, so I said you have just let me order food for a 3 year old then told me over an hour. We noticed lots of food being sent back, we waited over 40 minutes for a latte and a j20 from the other side of the bar, we did get a refund on whole order as an apology and we thought that was it, until our food was brought out and given to the table next to us, they started eating it and realised it wasn't there's so I pulled a waiter and I said that's ours... So they then moved it to our table.. And said they would change what was eaten... It was freezing cold, we didn't ask for anything fancy, cheesy garlic bread and kids chicken strips and chips and katsu curry's. Due to delays we ended up partially eating cold mains then the starters were brought out... By this time the kids were past being hungry and were over tired. I went to complain at reception ramona was no where to be seen but the lady on the desk was lovely and gave me a partial refund on the stay. We went back to our room and noticed when getting into bed the sheets were ripped and the duvet cover had a big hole in it. Breakfast on the second day was much better it was quiet, woman on the front didn't seem interested though as she was staring into space and took a while to even acknowledge us, I almost gave up and walked past her. Upon check out Ann Marie the manger who we first spoke to asked me how everything was so I explained and she said she read the report last night and wasn't impressed. She did offer to do more for me and did go out of her way to give me her email if I wish to stay there again. So I cannot thank her enough. Only just got home so can't decide if I ever will return but on the whole I've never ever received such bad service in a hotel. All bar the few nice ones in there. The over all impression you got from staff was you were a burden and they couldn't be bothered. Like how dare you book a night away Hotel would benefit from more communal bins, might save people leaving dirty nappy bags out side of the room stinking the corridor out.

Where on earth do I start. First of all I want to make it very clear that the hotel itself is beautiful. Really nice. Fairly priced with lovely spacious rooms. However. The service I have received from both restaurants located in the hotel has been down right apalling. Me & my friend both ordered fajitas at Triumph restaurant. She wanted chicken I wanted chicken AND halloumi (I did specify I was willing to pay extra for this) ordered paid & sat down. The fajitas were brought to our table and I realised my friend had been given chicken & me just halloumi. I explained that this isn’t what I ordered I wanted chicken AND halloumi. I was told they couldn’t do that. Ermmmm??? So I’m not allowed to order a side of halloumi to be put on top of my fajitas?! Don’t be so ridiculous. The waiter went to “ask the chef” waiter came back & said the chef said no. what do you mean the chef said no?! So he’s in charge of what I eat is he??? My friend made a joke and said is it because he just wants to get home? The waiter snapped at her: well he has been here since 9am. Oh absolutely not do not make us feel like a burden for eating in your restaurant. Manager came over issued me a full refund for the food and apologised profusely for the behaviour of his staff & gave us a free bottle of wine. Consider it squashed! Oh I really wish this was the end. So today. At 2:10pm I went down for some lunch - I had to be back in my room for 3pm as I had a zoom call on my laptop so I ordered a salad & paid extra to have grilled chicken on top because I thought it would be nice & quick. The food came out at 2:50pm. Chicken on top of the salad was STONE cold. Again. Sent it back and got a refund. Now o couldn’t eat at all as it had taken them 45 mins to throw some salad on a plate. Went to the shop for some food instead but I thought you know what it’s my last night I’m gonna treat myself to a dinner in Marcos. So I walked in and stood patiently waiting to be seated. Girls behind the bar ignored me. There was maybe one big group & 2 couples sat eating. The whole restaurant nearly was empty. When a hostess finally greeted me I asked a table for 1 please? She said I’ll have to go check. I thought, check?? You can fit a jumbo jet in this empty restaurant. She asked the girls behind the bar who said no. Not taking walk ins. I said: I’m one person. I’m wanting a table for 1. Your restaurants lot. Again, it was a no. I honestly don’t know what on earth is going on in this hotel but the restaurants REALLY let it down. Majorly.

The hotel itself is quite close to the motorway which was good if you're traveling a bit. Downside is that there aren't a lot of restaurants or shops nearby. Clean room with a fairly big bathroom. Decent side gym with most simple equipment for those gym users. The swimming pool was small, but luckily it wasn't too busy depending on the time. Sauna and Stream was the best bit. Not the negative bit, the bar was an absolute joke, I waited for 2 hours after ordering my food at the end, they told me all the kitchen staff went home. Next day, a similar situation where I had to wait for over an hour just for a simple food that isn't all that amazing. Luckily food was pre-paid by the business. But definitely not worth the wait.

I recently stayed at the Leonardo Hotel in Hinckley and had a mixed experience. Starting with the positives, the rooms were spacious and well-appointed, with a comfortable bed and a clean, modern bathroom that had excellent water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was enjoyable, offering a good variety of options to start the day, and the parking facilities were sufficient and easy to use. The staff were another highlight—super helpful and friendly throughout my stay. However, there were a few downsides. The hotel’s location is quite isolated, situated on an A road/motorway, making it inconvenient if you want to explore or access amenities nearby. Another inconvenience was the barrier system; you need a new code from reception every day to exit the car park, which felt unnecessarily cumbersome. Additionally, the hotel can get noisy, as it seems to cater primarily to events, Christmas parties, and conferences. While this might be fine for some, it can be disruptive for guests seeking a quieter stay. The rooms were also quite cold during the evenings, and although electrical heaters were provided, they took a few hours to warm up the space properly. Overall, it’s a decent hotel with great staff and facilities, but the location, noise, and heating issues might not make it ideal for everyone.

I feel really remiss leaving this review so late. We visited this location in August due to a travel complication, and could not have been more surprised at the quality of service. From check in, to check out it was superb. The hotel is simply huge, and I believe is a conference facility, parking area surrounds the hotel and short of an oil tanker I do not know what wouldn't fit. This Leonardo location is undergoing refurbishment which I suspect will take some time due to the sheer size, but the work is ongoing and well hidden. Some rooms have ac though ours did not.Our room was not a refurbished one but was clean and well presented and had everything we needed, no complaints. Room service was prompt and the food was simple sensational. it really lived up to the Marco Pierre White name. BUT, a special shout out to "Alex" he bent over backwards to help us at breakfast, arranged some other services and really went out of his way to help and make our overnight stay both memorable and more pleasant even though it was ad hoc. Its good service above all else I do not mind paying for and this young man took it to a completely different level, what a great ambassador not only for the Hinkley Island location but for the whole group. I have stayed at a couple of Leonardo hotels and I think they are an up and comer to watch in the budget hotel space. Just excellent from end to end and another mention to Alex. Great job, thank you.

Room 393. Checked in on 3rd Nov 2024. Went for a shower at approx 9 pm, and the shower was only luke warm due to the faulty boiler. The following morning, I went for breakfast (which was lovely) upon returning to the room, I found the bathroom was flooded. Was eventually sorted.

I am writing to express my concern regarding my recent interaction with the receptionist during my visit on 08/10/2024. Unfortunately, I found her demeanor to be quite rude. While she appeared warm and welcoming to other guests, my experience felt the opposite. I felt hurried and unworthy of her time, which was disappointing. She made me feel unwelcome and patronized. When I inquired about available rooms, her responses seemed unprofessional and dismissive. It wasn’t until another staff member stepped in that I received the assistance I needed. I believe that all guests deserve respectful treatment, and I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for others in the future. Otherwise, the hotel facilities were good and clean.

The room I had was showing its age, but clean and warm. The restaurant was closed on a Sunday evening but you could eat in the bar. Which is why I marked it down a star. Although the staff very helpful and good service.

I've not been in the Holywell for a while now, but O my word it's changed quite a bit. Live music playing and a big change in the interior of the pub. Would be happy to go in on a weekend and spend the evening there.

Had delivery a couple times and been sorely disappointed in the cold, rubbery food we got. Today, we decided to try going in and getting it fresh. Huge difference! Very tasty, decent portion, lively staff. Will definitely only get it as takeaway/eat-in going forwards, never ordering through justeat for delivery again

Nice decor, lady who worked there was really friendly however we went for breakfast and they were only doing toasted bagels. Ended up leaving and going somewhere else...but it felt nice and welcoming. It did seem smaller inside than on the pictures but equally, it made it feel cosy.

We popped in for a cocktail on a Wednesday evening. Being mid week, only a few tables were taken, so we managed to secure a big comfy sofa. They had a deal on, with two cocktails for £12.95, as long as we ordered the same one. We decided on the mango tiki shake, which was really lovely tasting and strong enough to feel like a decent cocktail. We liked the fact we could sit on the sofa and order drinks via the app. No need to move a muscle, except for my drinking arm. 😂 very enjoyable.
