LEON Magor in Monmouthshire

If you want to be an invisible customer this place is perfect, yay! Not just for 5 mins but a whole 15 mins of standing there being ignored. I’m sure the food’s good but that’s not much use of you can’t actually order it. The Invisible Man, that’s me! It’s great for this!

I like Leon usually so stopped at the services for one of their breakfast muffins. I found it pretty disappointing. It was small and the muffin itself was a bit dry. To top it all, the egg was very runny, which in itself isn’t a problem but when it is in a takeaway sandwich it becomes a problem. I bit into mine and egg yolk went everywhere so I spent the next 10 hours of travelling with dried egg on my top.

Absolutely wonderful!! Leon restaurants have been around in England for at least 30 years and yet it is so very nice to see one in Wales as it is indeed good quality fast food opposed to the normal options

Food was tasty and the service was excellent. The member of staff who was serving was very polite and made such an impact I thought I'd write this review based on it. The experience was more what I'd expect in a restaurant rather than a service station.

Lovely place . Clean. They now have Leon which is great.

We had Vegan breakfast Rolls, they did the job. We've never been to Leon before. It was very busy being a Sunday morning and it's a motorway services.

Well has to beat any food I’ve had at any motorway services , beats McD any day , try it and you will enjoy , I’m a lorry driver so as you can imagine I’ve had a few fast food meals , the thing is this is healthy food so a big bonus to me , thanks LEON

Was looking forward to this after a long coach journey from London. I wish I hadn’t bothered. The chilli chicken with rice was stone cold, with no evidence of any chilli flavour whatsoever. When I inquired, I was told the only difference was the addition of a small pot of chilli sauce, which he gave me and which added a small amount of flavour to the blandness.This cost me £8.69. My family chose other options which were also cold and therefore got thrown in the bin. The “chips” were inedible and tasted like cardboard. No flavour at all. If I’d had the time I would have complained, as I spent almost £30 altogether. Unfortunately we were on a time curfew and had to get back on the coach. I will NEVER visit here again. If there’d been the option, I would have awarded no stars at all.

We recently popped in to Leon after a round trip to Cornwall and back and we were really quite disappointed with what we ordered. The buns were a bit stale, there was barely any sauce and the Love burgers and waffle fries were lukewarm. We also had to wait quite a long time for it to arrive. We suspected this may all have been due to it being the end of the day on a sunny bank holiday weekend, but still £25 for two meals certainly isn't cheap, especially when Leon quality is usually much better. After being invited back as an apology from Leon, we gave it another go and what a difference. The manager was really friendly and went out of her way to make sure that we were happy. The burgers and fries were hot and freshly cooked, with plenty of flavor. The burgers also had more toppings than last time as I think some of these had been missed off or perhaps they had run out. We also didn't have to wait as long and we were updated on how long our order would take. I think the difference in quality of food and service would probably make me think twice about visiting Leon at the end of a particularly busy day again, however for an afternoon meal, I will certainly call in again. Thank you again to the manager who ensured we had a good experience and to the helpful customer service team.

So just ordered my food to say the attitude I was given was disgusting l!! Not just to myself but other customers! Rude!!!!

I was served a virtually raw chicken burger yesterday at this branch of Leon. When I took it back the server said it was that colour because it was thigh meat. Yes it was thigh meat, but it was raw thigh meat! He did give me a refund, just for the burger, not the fries. But he did not acknowledge that this could have given me severe food poisoning. Luckily I had spat out the first mouthful when I realised I was chewing raw chicken so it had no ill effects. We will not be eating at any branch of Leons again.

Lovely food but expensive for the potions size.

The first time I’ve eaten at the Leon fast food chain. My rice box was undoubtedly very good for me - plenty of greens, a few soybeans, a little bit of chicken and beetroot, but not much flavour. The lattice chips were only lukewarm - again, lacking in flavour. The alioli mayo, which I hoped would pep everything up was disappointing… Could hardly taste the garlic. The coleslaw was completely inedible… Strongly tasted of mustard, and nothing else! Desperately need to change this recipe! The box for a child was fine but hugely expensive at £5. However, the coffee – a flat white – was the best I’ve ever tasted. Will definitely go back again for the coffee.😋

Why would you go to another fast food chain. Leon provides the best food and service in our opinion.

Have been to Leon before in Manchester and it was excellent, I love the concept, so when I needed to grab food on way home after a long journey I was pleased to find a Leon at the service station. Sadly this was awful. The restaurant space was dirty, the order screens however made ordering really simple. The order took 15 minutes… the lad serving was polite but his colleague was stood texting with her back to customers - she was also snappy and unapproachable. The orders kept coming up as ready when they hadn’t even been cooked. We both ordered chicken burger … the chicken was a strange grey colour, awful taste and running a funny liquid and the texture was awful full of joints and bones. Grim. I was so tired so just left though really should have complained or asked for something else. Other customers were struggling with orders too. I really hope the brand has more branches open as my other experiences of the chain are great - and this is just a one off but the magor branch deffo needs an overhaul.

Friendly service and I didn’t need to use those ordering screens. Ordered a dhal which sounded good. The unfortunately all I got was a box of rice with a thin smear of dhal. Pretty bad

An amazing find in a motorway service area. Best fast food options ever in such an environment. Hygienically packed and delivered by friendly servers. Tasty food and great coffee. We hope this option becomes available at other large service areas.

Absolutely fabulous. The girl behind the counter was great, she knew her stuff. I eat a gluten free diet, they had many options. Fresh gloves were used when serving mine. Food was fresh and hot. Can not fault! Would definitely return!

Lovely food, the girl with glasses that served us was very friendly and chatty, gave great service for the short interaction that we had.

Disappointing. Have had Leon in London before and it was far better. Ordered the chicken satay rice box and it was not great. Firstly, it wasn’t hot. It was barely lukewarm. The rice was undercooked so it was hard and chalky. The sauce was a little bland but mostly alright. The chicken however was cooked well. The waffle fries were terrible. Cold, chewy, stale. Like they had been fried hours ago and left to go cold. I’ve had better McDonald’s fries after microwaving them. Service was great though. The servers are lovely and food was out quickly.

Dry, and only warm, not impressed sorry, won't be eating it again..

Tasty and healthy food served by a friendly and happy team.

I had a Bacon and egg sandwich it was completely dried out the egg's had been sitting in a warming tray from I don't know for how long. The cook's spent most of there time holding conversations instead of getting on with cooking and taking orders from the mounting que.

I love Leon but this one wasn’t doing itself any favours. After ten minutes I had to cancel the order.

Yummiest beyond with a super satisfying poached egg salmon and avocadonpot. TOTALLY DELICIOUS..all fresh and quickly produced..I am a Leon convert now ...fab staff too especially Carri.

Food was a change from McDonald's drivel, but 'fast food' it ain't. It was just 'OK' and thus not good enough to wait 15+ minutes for one item at a non-busy time for. - (I did not have to queue to order and there were maybe 5 other people in front of me waiting for food.) I don't think 'Atmosphere' can really be rated at a service station!

C'était ça ou le MacDo laisse c'est franchement pas terrible. La nourriture est ok pour le prix, le temps d'attente horriblement long... Les tables et les chaises sont mal nettoyées. Mieux que le MacDo mais pas terrible.

I read a lot about Leon as a company and how there food was a refreshing addition to the motorway services scene, so I was eager to give it a go. We stopped at Magor services the other side if the bridge just into Wales and my wife had a meat free burger and I had a chicken burger. The picture of the burger did not relate to what I actually recieved in any shape or form. I like the filling of a burger to match the diameter of the bun so how a small triangular piece of very tasty chicken I might add, fit the diameter of a 5" bun I shall never know. It needed two to three pieces back to back to make a square this would have been a lot better and reduced the amount of sloppy filling that was used to fill the empty spaces up either side of the small triangle of chicken. This made eating this, very unpleasant messy and in need of a knife and fork let alone 5 napkins. Although this had all the makings off a great tasting burger it fell really short on the presentation and practicalities of being a pleasant eating experience. My wife said her burger was OK but had a long way to go to match a Burger King plant based burger. So a bit of work to do guys before I would eat here again. Sorry.

I visited this outlet at 1900hrs on Saturday 15 April 2023, The standard of service was excellent, despite the outlet being very busy close to the end of the day. There were only two staff on duty at this time but the effort placed into processing and completing orders quickly was commendable. The staff came under significant pressure at 2000hrs when they tried to close the order point by turning the monitors off. This led to a number of disappointed people but these were dealt with Hugh amounts of patience and curtesy. The food we received we throughly enjoyed and was well prepared and served with a smile. We fully intend to use this outlet again. A great well done to the Team.

Lovely wraps, tasted so fresh. Definitely the best food we have ever eaten at motorway services. Great staff too.

Firstly it's nearly twice the price of the adjoining McDonalds so I expected much better food. How wrong was I. I had the Crispy Korean Chicken Wrap. Chicken was dry and definitely not crispy. Wrap was hard and stale. Salad was old and wilted but it was definitely Korean Sauce as there was tons of it on there. The waffle fry things were soggy and chewy. Staff were friendly and were kind enough to write me a hand receipt as their printer was working. I won't be eating at a Leon again. I'm just glad I can claim in back on subsistence expenses or I'd be devastated at spending £12 on that.

Delicious gluten free food! Staff is extremely helpful to accommodate any allergies. Best takeaway on the go!
