This has got to be the best value breakfast in Bournemouth. The service was excellent, very prompt, and the two breakfasts we ordered were outstanding in terms of quality and value for money. A choice of coffee or tea was included in the price, as were toast and butter.

I have lived locally for 45 years, and regularly visit Leo Cafe. Hidden away in the Richmond Gardens shopping centre, it easily ranks with the very best of Bournemouth's cafes and coffee shops. I really should have written a review long before now. Perhaps it can just become too easy to take a favourite place for granted, when it always provides a friendly welcome, and good quality food. Yesterday's lunch dishes - beef stroganoff and chicken fricassee - were piping hot and delicious, and the homemade cakes and generous sized pot of tea were equally welcome. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food, and the service is always warm and friendly, even when the cafe is busy. I do hope Leo Cafe will be there for me, for as long as I need it!

After researching an all day breakfast, we discovered Leo’s. What a great find tucked inside the Richmond arcade in the town centre. The food was well presented, hot and delicious. Sausages were of good quality. Bacon and eggs were cooked well. So good that returned on the following day for the eggs Benedict (pictured) very reasonable price also. Average £10. highly recommended.

Nothing wrong with the coffee and pastry but we feel mislead on the pricing. On the advertising board outside on the pavement it states the take away price yet no mention of this. (There is a meal deal on the opposite side of the board which does mention take away, this should be added to the coffee/pastry menu.

No te puedes equivocar. El personal era encantador. Sin duda volveremos la próxima vez que estemos en Bournemouth. Definitivamente recomendaría este lugar para el desayuno, el almuerzo o simplemente un refrigerio.

We sometimes call into Leo Café for coffee or a light lunch. It's clean, convenient, nice seating with such lovely friendly staff. Oh yes, the food is great too, and super value.Between the two of us, we selected a panini, a bowl of home-made vegetable soup, and a chicken salad baguette.Everything was delicious and served with a smile. My soup was fantastic, with a "Moroccan" flavour. I like my soup very hot. Mine was ok, but I asked for it to heated up a bit more, which it was, again, with more smiles. Just perfect service. The tapwater was chilled and we didn't have to wait long to be served in this busy, busting café.The menu includes cooked breakfasts, (served all dsy), sandwiches, jacket potatos, paninis, baguettes, a soup of the day and a few specials of the day. As we were in Bournemouth for the weekend we bought a Groupon voucher for afternoon tea here. It was very easy to find and we had reserved a table so were attended to very promptly. The tea and coffee arrived first which was lovely and hot, and then the waitress told us what the sandwiches were and checked we had no allergies and were happy with the choice. The sandwiches were fresh and delicious with plenty of fillings. The scones and pastries were served on a cake stand with the scones being warm. There was also a pot of cream, butter and jam. All the food was freshly prepared and we enjoyed all we had. We couldn't eat all the cakes but the proprietor put them in a box to take home. This little cafe is just a splendid find and very handy if you are parking in Richmond gardens multi storey parking.

Not sure why this place has good reviews...especially for its afternoon tea! I wasn't going to get my hopes up on this place as I knew it was a cafe..but they could of made abit more effort with the afternoon tea which was groupon voucher I had brought! I asked for cheese sandwiches as I couldn't have the other sandwich fillers due to being pregnant. My bf was happy to have the sandwich fillers however, the waitress who served us had very little English so it was to confusing for her so we BOTH ended up with 8 cheese sandwiches and crisps thrown on top of them! The cheese was horrible so I couldn't eat that many. The cakes had nothing I liked on there so my bf had to eat it. I tried one cake and spat it out due to a hair being on there! There was 2 scones and both of them had dried fruit in it which I hate. Normally you get one with fruit and one plain!None of the afternoon tea was on a stand. Overall, very disappointing didn't look very advertising at all, it was disgusting. Won't be going there again or recommending.

We went to Leo cafe for afternoon tea for two with the Groupon voucher. Very easy to find in the shopping centre. We got there 10 minutes early which we thought would be a problem - but it wasn't. We booked in advanced by email. The kind man let us choose our table (we chose one by the window) 2 seconds later, a nice lady came over and took our drink orders. We were offered tea, coffee and hot chocolate. I myself, ordered a tea and my friend ordered a hot chocolate. 2 minutes later, the drinks came out, my tea came in a small black tea pot and my friends hot chocolate was already poured in a mug. The sandwiches came out 30 seconds after the lady have us our drinks. (as in the photograph) we were served a small white "platter" with finger sandwiches 3 ham (fully stuffed with ham) 3 tuna and mayo and 3 egg and mayo. There was a servijg of ready salted crisps on the top. We were also served a mini cake stand with two scones 1 tart 1 slice of cake and one cinnamon swirl. On a mini side plate was 2 packets of blackcurrant jam and a small pit of clotted cream. After our sandwiches and the scones we were full, so we asked the lady of we could have a doggy bag. She was very happy to do that, she took away the cake stand and placed the cakes and pastries in a box for us to take away. Overall, a lovely experience could of done with some more clotted cream but impart from that, we will be visiting again.

I was part of a group of 3 adults and an 8 year old child, and we'd pre-booked an afternoon tea treat. Upon arrival we chose a table with comfortable sofas and sat ourselves down. Being close to Christmas and 3pm it wasn't busy as they close at 4pm on a Sunday. The waitress came over and I explained we'd pre-booked an afternoon tea for 4 people. She went away and another waiter came over and took our drink orders - my husband had coffee, myself and sister-in-law had tea and my son decided on hot chocolate. The waiter also told us what fillings for the sandwiches would be and checked to make sure they were suitable for us. Weaited a short while and two cake stands came out to our table - egg, salmon and cream cheese, ham and mustard finger sandwiches. There was a slice of homemade sponge cake, a fruit tart and two fruit scones which were accompanied by clotted cream and jam. The tea for myself and sister-in-law came out with a small tea pot each and milk between us. The bread was soft, fresh with plenty of fillings - there was just enough cream cheese with the salmon and mustard with the ham, not to over power. The cakes were delicious as were the scones. During our meal the waitress asked if the food was satisfactory and checked to make sure we didn't want more drinks. In all the staff were attentive and polite. The food was well presented, fresh and delicious. Absolutely no hesitation in returning.

Having read other reviews & being extremely sceptical about the £10 groupon deal for an afternoon tea for two we were pleasantly surprised & feel its massively underrated. We booked for 13:30 but arrived early however that didn't matter, the team were friendly & showed us to our 'reserved' table. It was fairly busy in the cafe so booking is advisable. The waitress gave us lots of options of drinks to have; tea, coffee, hot chocolate which was lovely as the groupon spec said 'range of teas'. When the food came out the sandwiches were fresh; egg mayo, smoked salmon & cream cheese & ham & mustard, exactly what was advertised on groupon. Although there was an odd number (9) that didn't matter as they were yummy & we cut the remaining 3 in half! The fruit scones were warm & fresh with clotted cream & jam, there was a fresh pastry each & a slice of homemade orange cake which was fresh & light absolutely yummy. For the price you really can't complain. It was simple yet fresh & filling, you can't fault it. We are giving 4 stars however due to a wobbly table & no toilets on site although access to staff toilets was given which was a nice touch. A friendly welcoming little cafe which is a massive must try.

False advertisement!!! See photos bellow. Found this cafe online, advertising afternoon tea, the photos the cafe had posted looked lovely! We phoned in the morning to book for the afternoon and everything went through fine. When we got there, they told us they had no scones left, I questioned why they had not put some aside that morning for our booking. Afternoon tea without scones? They told us we could come back tomorrow. We booked for that day for a reason so had the alternative pastries instead. When we sat down the waiter came over and asked what sandwiches we would like. When we received our food the sandwiches were not only wrong but looked like something made for a child's tea party. Absolutely disgusting! They then bought out the so called cakes, what a disappointment! Some hot custard things and a pathetic slice of lemon tart. I think that's what it was anyway. Absolutely disgusted by what was served to us. Please do not judge this cafe on the photos posted by them online. Very very different. Worst afternoon tea/food I have ever been served. Walking through the Richmond Gardens Shopping Centre (not on our normal route through Bournemouth) we were delighted to find Leo's Café and even more so that the proprietor was none other than Leo who we recognised from another establishment in town where he had worked for many years. In taking the step to own his own café he (and the other staff) can only be commended on excellent service, as well as GREAT quality and value for money. The whole Café has a brilliant atmosphere, comfy and warm in this weather but ideal for a lovely cup of coffee and what ever you wish (or not) to eat. Leo has only been there 4 weeks but has made his mark, more than worth the walk, go and visit and support this independent café.

My husband and I visited Leo's yesterday. We have used these premises before when the previous establishment was there. The cafe looked busy so we thought we would give them a try and weren't disappointed. Fabulous coffee and hot chocolate and yes the coffee was hot so one happy husband. We also ordered a panini and tea cake both were good quality and tasted great. This is a new cafe so give them a go so much better than the department store cafes we have used in the past. We have really struggled when visiting Bournemouth in the past to find a nice cafe but we did this time and will go back for sure.

We come here often before going to the beach and it’s excellent every time. Lovely vegan options. Coffee is perfect. Outside has a chalk board to keep kids entertained. Perfect stop for breakfast first thing in the morning.

Staff were ridiculously rude all bar the glass collector. Genuinely wouldn’t piss on it if it was on fire. Never had to write a review before but the staff were discussing.

Went in for dinner on a Friday night. Unfortunately my meal was barely edible but even though I hadn’t eaten all day I still only managed half of it. My partners slow cooked beef was good but my steak pie was overcooked to the point that the moisture had been sucked out of the meat and pastry resulting in tough, stringy beef and a dry, hard crust. The potatoes and gravy were tasty but the accompanying swede, carrots and broccoli were woefully overcooked and literally disintegrated to the point I had to scoop them onto the fork. Highly disappointing meal.

We played here every day of our family holiday, and had a lot of fun. The cafe serves good snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.

Wish I'd read these reviews before going with my son for a long overdue catch up. Shocking service. Absolutely shocking. Lovely smiling waitresses giving the impression nothing was too much trouble. It clearly was far too much trouble. It's as if immediately you request something the delete button activates in the waiting staff. We ordered the following: tap water, egg mayonnaise sandwich, chicken sandwich and fries. Shouldn't be beyond most cafes to get sorted. After 20 mins no water which meant I had to go up ask for it again - not withstanding it as it was a very very warm day (despite being October!) and we were outside. After 30 minutes no lunch, asked where it was. Finally rocked up - and to my horror they toasted my bread for my egg mayo sandwich. Why? I wasn't asked if I wanted it toasted. OH - and no choice of brown or white bread. Chips were nice. Sandwich OK. My son liked his sandwich. Only one loo which wasn't particularly pleasant. Really don't bother. There are plenty of other options nearby. Wish we'd gone with the Caribbean option we looked at first.
