Lovely food and service. Very clean Would use again

I got the avocado toast. Avocado was not properly ripe resulting in very hard parts. The egg was also oddly bland and had obviously been cooked for a while. Which makes sense since it took half an hour for it to get to me. Overall a disappointing experience however it was only £7.75 but I wouldn't make a repeat visit personally

Us in Tavvy have all got our fav Coffee Shops, our Fav's weren't open today so we had our 3rd bad experience here, Let's leave it at that!

Friendly staff. Food was very nice. Chicken club sarny tasty and all day breakfast sarny well stuffed. Prices good and a great selection and range of dishes.

Lovely traditional cafe with interesting menu and friendly, efficient staff. Three of us all ordered the local ham, eggs and chips, but would have been very happy with many of the menu choices and blackboard specials. Very clean dining area and spotless loos. Oh, and VERY reasonable prices too.

First visit to Tavistoke and what a lovely Town Stopped and had lunch in The Lemon Grove Cafe and what a sweet place it was .we had the Beef chilli with all the dips etc and it was delicious. Very good value ,Excellent service and will visit Tavy again and Lemon GroveCafe . THANK YOU TO ALL THE LOVELY STAFF 😊

🌟🌟🌟🌟 - Nice little spot by the market in Tavistock! I went for the cheese and chutney grilled sandwich 🥪 with the Greek salad 🥗. The cheese was so good 🧀, as I'd hoped being in Devon. The Greek salad was accompanied by a nice tangy balsamic vinegar 🥗 Pretty nice!

First impression🤔 - if the lovely staff at this cafe aren’t related to the owners (or indeed part owners themselves) then they deserve a huge round of applause 👏 and a big incentive for the way they handled the busy demands of today - the young girl we had serve us was clearly extremely busy but smiled and assisted fantastically suggesting where to sit and fetching a high chair for my grandson - a HUGE credit to her parents and the cafe 👏 Aside of this, the ham and cheese sandwich 🥪 we were served with was large, fresh and delicious with “proper” ham and a large tasty salad garnish. The hot chocolate could’ve maybe been offered with cream and marshmallows but hey, on the whole absolutely brilliant thank you 🤗 well done girls 😊

The food was lovely but the staff weren’t very welcoming or friendly. It took 2 attempts to ask for a high chair for my 19 month old and my other little boy was trying to be friendly to one of the waitresses and she wasn’t interested at all. Lots of negative comments about different things rather that trying to be positive. They just wanted to get our order in as quickly as possible, no time for any conversation but still no excuse not to be friendly. Quite a negative vibe which is a shame as put us off going back again. I understand they are probably understaffed/under pressure as only 2 waitresses and all the tables were full.

Only issue is that you need cash for under £10 .

Lovely place for a bite to eat, staff very friendly, nothing was too much trouble, the place was very clean, and busy with customers, always a good sign, the toasted sandwiches were delicious, and the bacon in the bacon sandwich was bountiful! would definitely recommend this place

Lovely food, real steak burgers, locally sourced and cooked perfectly. The team are friendly and professional, really good. The café is spotless and the loos are really bright and clean.

Visited today with my hubby and family, service was great and food delicious, the men had burgers we had quiche and a toastie all lovely coffe was great too. Only ever had soup here before due to being ill so was great to try their other food. 5 stars all the way 😀

We took our very excited daughter for pancakes to celebrate getting "Star of the Day" at school. We arrived at 3.20pm but were told that was too late for any food as they closed 40 minutes later. I said we would be done by 4 but this wasn't acceptable. A very upset little girl unfortunately, Suggest you need to list an order cut-off time if it's as early as that.

Visited two months ago and am excited to be going back this Saturday. Great interior. Exceptionally good prices and value for money. Great service and friendly staff. Excellent coffee and the best ice cream sundae ever!

What a great find. This is such a lovely cafe. The staff were so friendly and efficient. I had the chilli beef which was the best I've had in a long time. It came with beautiful rice, nachos, a selection of salsa, sour cream, guacamole and jalapeño peppers. It was fantastic. My friend had the homemade quiche. It was huge. She was offered a box to take it home. Can't wait to go back

Nice coffee but the cheese and ham toastie could have been toasted for longer so the chesse may have had possibly melted. Staff were nice and friendly and the prices were fair.

A very friendly and helpful staff. We visited while on holiday and enjoyed our meal there. I especially like the homemade tomato soup and cheese on toast. Had a nice kick to it.

The service was very good, the pancake stack and eggs Benedict was very good, however the hash browns weren’t very nice and had a chemical taste to it

Went here on a recommendation and will be returning. The waitress was amazing, made a suggestion regarding our order based on her knowledge, which was great to see and checked back with us due to a slight delay with our food. For reference, the food still arrived in a perfectly acceptable time. The food itself was delicious, please tell me what maple syrup you use as it was to die for. Looking forward to our next visit.

My daughter and I have been going here recently once a week for an after-school treat. The staff are always friendly. Last week they excelled all expectations, after my young daughter fell ill very suddenly and was sick. They started cleaning up immediately and didn't make either of us feel burdensome at all, despite the mess. I was outright refused when I offered to pay for our order and cleaning, instead insisting I just focus on my little girl. 10/10 Definitely earnt a regular out of us.

Went in and was about to sit down but the lady behind the till asked us to wait by the sign, she the proceeded to chat completely ignoring us to then tell us to sit at the table we went to in the first place. After this didnt come to the table just continued at chat with the other girl behind the counter so we decided to leave because they obviously didnt want our service that badly. I understand getting people to wait to be seated, but if you make them wait you show them to the table and give them proper service not be rude or just ignore your customers the whole time really negative experience wont go back and can see why its empty

I visited this place with a friend for lunch. Only 3 tables were occupied and there were at least 4 staff. We entered at 1.45pm and our food order was taken almost immediately. Our drinks in 5 mins, pot of tea and a Frappe. After about 25 mins I was wondering where our food was but decided to wait until 2.30 but it was only burger and chips so at 2.30 I asked if it had been forgotten and they looked on the till and yes it had. Even the waitress that served us was surprised we hadn't got it yet four staff were stood 10ft away and nobody noticed we weren't eating. So we upped and left. Thankfully they decided not to charge for our drinks, but I doubt very if I will visit here again.very poor service

What a fantastic find this is. Great friendly staff and the food which for me was beef nacho chilli and for my husband was the vegan version and both were delicious and not over priced. Also a nice vegan selection so thumbs up from me and this was on a Sunday too.

It was very quiet when we entered.. took ages for waitress to take order, (only 3 drinks)...and even longer to receive drinks. Won't rush back

Slow service! Not busy at the time. 3 persons behind counter falling over eachother, one took my order for two coffees and returned ten minutes later and asked if I was ready to order!!!! I replied she had taken my order before andshe said oh I wondered who the coffee was for. Wake up staff at the Lemon grove!!!!!

Nice little cafe, friendly staff. The table hadn't been wiped down, but a quick word with the staff rectified this. My latte was tepid. On a positive note hubby's hot chocolate lived up to it's name.

I am local and heard a lot of good things about this cafe. Unfortunately i ordered 3 milkshakes for nearly £12. Now for nearly £4 each you would expect luxury thick cold milk shake. What I got was a milk drink with a 15mm crust of slimy coconut froth on top.The flavouring had not been mixed into the milk, there was no ice cream, no crushed ice etc so basically a £4 glass of milk. Really shameful Fair do's I have altered my review as my friend and his wife had a totally difference milkshake experience this week. Lovely rich thick shakes where the straws stood up on their own. They were very happy with them. I now accept I probably just caught them on an off day due to new staff. Would have been 5 star if better quality control.

Absolute gem of a cafe/restaurant. We had an evening meal here. I had ribeye steak and my partner had one of their signature burgers. Best meal I've had out in a long time. Fresh and perfectly cooked. Well worth a visit. 5* service as well.

Went to LGC last night on final day of holiday, wish it was my first as I would have eaten there every day. Steak & salad with blue cheese sauce throughly recommend. If I was a local I'd be there weekly

I’m so sad to be leaving this review, we ate a couple of weeks ago and I wanted to love it. Confused service, at points brilliant and excellent and others we felt like a total inconvenience. The smallest soft drinks - £1.60 each for our 200ml bottles. The wings we shared to start were burnt, then I had a small nachos which had had what tasted like uncle Ben’s chilli, a small side of unmelted mozzarella and jar salsa and guacamole, although the sour cream was real; my friend had a a burger which was absolutely lovely - raising the stars. Also one toilet wouldn’t lock, the other had no loo roll and the disabled one was impossible to access as lots of things were piled in front of the door. I guess the perfect demonstration of the good and the bad was that the toilet had a Neals Yard diffuser which was decadent and lovely, and Chefs Larder hand wash. I hope they sort the niggles, it could so easily be good

Very disappointed with menu, burgers, chilli dishes etc on menu not told about thus when table was booked! Waitresses very disorganised, forgot decaff tea, and water, stained cup, food rubbish toasted sandwich, bread was awful and served with no garnish £5.95, Absolute rip off, paying bill was painful too, 2 different people with different ideas of how we could settle the bill, we won't be going back again, apparently reduced menu on Monday and Tuesday but still full menu advertised on line and on the window!!🙄🙄🙄

Ok, considering it was about the only cafe open on a Saturday night, in summer, in Tavistock, can't complain

I can not recommend this place enough, The staff are lovely with nothing to much to ask and catered for our dietary needs. The food is top notch and very well priced . We will be returning for another meal :)

We had an incredible meal at the Lemon Grove last night. The food was outstanding and the service just as good. Very attentive and kept our 9month old happy and entertained throughout. Starters came out quickly and were a great size. Mains followed swiftly and tasted as good as they looked. Presentation and taste were 10/10. We were too full for a desert there and then but couldn't resist leaving without a slice of brownie and a slice of white chocolate rocky road which we ate later that evening and were equally as good!Will definitely be back for a meal soon! Thank you!

Pancakes in LGC in style, I took large stack of pancakes with bacon, butter and maple 🍁 syrup & followed it up with crepe with lemon 🍋 juice and sugar all drunk with a lovely flat white coffee... NICE 🤗

French style. Three dishes ordered with drinks. Was really looking forward to something different, esp crepes (with additions). However, too dry. Tasteless. Not enough sugar or lemon on one. Service too slow. All dishes for three of us came out at staggered intervals, so much so that each person nearly finished as the other started! Basics of service not grasped. Mushroom on toast with fresh veg was very good. Drinks very good. Excellent to see decaf. Good to see vegan options. Please also refresh doggie bowl outside...basics.

The Boeuf Bourguignon, Moules Frites and Croque Monsieur are delicious. Their selection of ice creams are also very tasty. No loud piped music which is a definate plus and very friendly and pleasant staff.

Great food, atmosphere, but service rather disjointed ,plenty of staff need a captain at the wheel 😁
