I visited with my lovely husband to celebrate Valentine's Day and the owners were incredibly kind, really spoiled us and made it SUCH a special occasion. We had vegan afternoon tea, delicious sandwiches, home made cranberry scones and the BEST Victoria sponge I have EVER eaten! The tea room is really pretty, really small and intimate with beautiful crockery and vintage decor. HIGHLY recommended - we will definitely be back x

This tea room is one of the most wonderful experiences in Brighton. It is owned by a lovely retired couple who truly make you feel at home. The food is delicious, the space is decorated beautifully (it has so many little details that are very cute) and the whole experience is fantastic. I will definitely come again!!!

The attention to detail of the decor was incredible! Everytime I looked around I would find something new! The selection of teas was extensive and high quality, I ended up picking the apple rhuibous tea and it's was lovely! The sandwiches were perfect for a light snack the cheese and pickle was a tasty touch. Finally I had the home made cranberry scone which went perfectly with cream and jam. Thank you very much for the lovely experience!

This tea room is honestly one of the loveliest places I‘ve ever been to. It is decorated with so much love for details, it feels like walking into a little wonderland. The owners collected all the cups and decorations on their various travels throughout Great Britain and you can tell how carefully they have chosen every item. They host you as if you were at their living room. The food and tea is of especially high quality - very tasty 😋 in my eyes an absolute must, if you come to Brighton 🫖💕

Today I visited Leman Tea Room for my daughter's 18th birthday. The service was above and beyond expectations. I did let them know in advance, so when we arrived my daughter had a beautiful China tea cup with gold edging with 'Happy Birthday' on it ready for her on the table. She felt so special. We also were presented with a beautiful chocolate cake with candles and a sparkler. All this on top of wonderful sandwiches and scones. Thank you so much, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely come back.

Made a little trip to a delightful little cafe/tearoom on Saturday brunch time. Being a lover of Turkish food have been meaning to try this little gem for a while. We were not disappointed see the pic. The tea was lovely and so many homemade cakes it was difficult to choose which to take home. We choose chocolate in the end with tiny bits of fudge on top oh dear ...... we see they also make homemade cakes for parties birthdays etc I truly hope they stay because I definitely need to eat more food there and take more cake away! The vegetable borek is lovely as are the feta and spinach yum yum is all I’m saying in general

Kleine theekamer, je moet je plek weten want je loopt er zo voorbij. Maar stop vooral en ga even een heerlijke bananentaart (recept van zijn moeder) eten, met thee/koffie. Heerlijk dat zulke plekken nog bestaan.

The location and interior is lovely. The owner is so friendly and gave us nice recommendations. The cake was delicious. The tea was so, so; we like more strong ones (personal favor)

I usually reserve Friday mornings for coming into central Brighton and to visit Leman Tea Room. Whether on my own or in company, it is always a place to meet regular customers or to strike up conversations with interesting people visiting from around the world. The freshly prepared food and drinks are always excellent an its friendly welcome makes everyone feel relaxed and at home.

I just made another visit to this fascinating tearoom. It is an intimate bijou space which is brought to life by it's charming and charismatic host! Yet again I was well impressed by the size and quality of sandwiches on offer and the quality of the freshly made cakes. As the name suggests, it is a tearoom so I always sample its quality teas. Its delicious goods are complemented by its welcoming and friendly atmosphere and I will always visit it when I am in Brighton!

Wonderful service, amazing banana and spinach cake ! Very nice coffee. We sat outside and watched the world go by, enjoyed the cake and coffee and hope to come back for lunch soon. Love the sugar cubes with tongs so many establishments forget the tongs so thank you.

After a visit to my favourite tearoom, I had to write a review. What a welcome the tearoom gives to all its customers! You can always rely on the quality of food and drink with new additions alongside established favourites. Despite your size of order you will always have excellent service, good company and interesting conversation. Close to the bottom of St James Street, there are good communications to the rest of the city. Enjoy your visit and maybe I'll see you there!

What a gem of a tearoom this is, just off St James Street in Brighton! Delicious sandwiches and a great selection of freshly made cakes with a traditional but lively atmosphere that I haven't seen before in Brighton. The charming host is extremely attentive and full of knowledge about local attractions! You must visit to experience it!

Love this tearoom. I ordered a beef sandwich with horseradish sauce which came with crisps and salad and was absolutely delicious. All the cakes are homemade so i thought i'd treat myself to a slice of chocolate cake which didn't disappoint.

The place is really small, not suitable for buggies. The selection of cakes is just 3 or 4 cakes that they were alright but nothing more. Went there cause it was considered second best tea and cakes from Brighton. Filter coffee just average. Very disappointing.

What a delightful, charming find, always looking for a non commercialised café whilst wandering with my 87 year old mum and we found it here.

Gefühlt ist das Café zwar nur so groß wie zwei Telefonzellen, aber dafür sehr gemütlich. Übertroffen wird die Gemütlichkeit dann aber tatsächlich von den Sandwiches, dem Kuchen und der Herzlichkeit des Betreibers.

The owner is Turkish from Izmir. No room to swing a cat but it is charming, pretty and very English. The homemade cakes are on display in the window. Simple fare. Nothing hot. No WiFi be warned. Wc. Closes at 5.00 and in December and January. Perfect for a romantic ‘Brief encounter’ tryst! A couple of tables outside. China is mismatched deliberately with creamy lacy tablecloths. Turkish style cold breakfast or croissants, toast and jam. Choice at lunch of posh sandwiches. Menu on small cute boards on the table (see my photos). Highly recommended. Off the beaten track.

Discovered while trying to hide during a storm. Great tea room, the decor is fabulous, and the owner pays attention to every detail from the way he puts the plat in your direction (like in Japanese tea ceremonies) to the flowers on the table to the chandelier.

We visited Brighton this week with a group of family and friends (7 of us) and after a weekend of festivities wanted a farewell coffee before the log drive home. We almost ended up in Starbucks... thank goodness we didn’t. This place is bursting with charm! Such a quaint, classy little place tucked away in the busy streets of Brighton. The home made cakes and sandwiches were delicious, the china and decor was charming and inviting, the owner friendly and engaging and the prices were excellent. Next time we are in Brighton I will be back! Thoroughly recommend this place, they have worked wonders with a small space in a time where the mainstream coffee chains are everywhere! Ps great cuppa also!

I came across Leman when visiting Brighton last week - it was pouring with rain and I somehow instinctively ducked in here for some lunch. Leman is a real haven, and definitely worth a visit! I ordered a ham sandwich and it was a really perfect lunch, daintily served on a china plate with some salad and crisps. Çaglar, aka Charlie, was just the right amount of chatty, and overall I felt soothed when I left!

We came for a quick bite of lunch at the start of a weekend away. There were no other customers at the time but were greeted by a very friendly guy who freshly made a lovely sandwich for us. The place is very small but lovely and the china plates and mismatched furniture is very charming. We hope it does very well and thoroughly recommend people visit.

Such an adorable place. Very small but that adds to the style of the tea room. Every details is very thought through and you can't help but "aw"-ing when you step inside. The pottery is stylish, service fantastic and the cakes are to die for.

Family of 4, we had delicious afternoon tea. The salmon sandwiches & egg mayo were particularly lovely. The scones were just delish. We were so full, we had no room for the generous portions of cake which we took home with us.

We really enjoyed our lunch here, the sandwiches were freshly made and came with a lovely salad garnish and crisps. We managed to find room for a piece of home made chocolate cake which was delicious. The tea was served in a large tea pot, bone china cups and the milk was in a very unusual jug, great. Very warm welcome and would definitely go back when in Brighton.

I went here with my daughter for tea and cake in the afternoon. It is not easy to find but well worth the effort. It is really retro with old fashioned cups and saucers. We had the lemon and orange cakes. Both were really generous portions with a big pot of tea. The owner was very friendly and even let my daughter charge her phone. A really kind thing to do. I would recommend this cafe as it is a refreshing change to get away from the big chains.

Calm, friendly, traditional and welcoming. My second visit today: I was made to feel at home by the tearoom's charming host. Sandwiches and cake were plentiful and delicious; there was lashings of greatly flavoured tea! The premises are intimate and eclectically decorated to great taste. Can't wait for my next visit! What a find! Happened to be passing and with time to spare I dropped in and am so pleased I did. A stylish, little tea shop with the loveliest owners - I just didn't want to leave. Tea served in cups and saucers and of course I had to try the lemon drizzle cake which was the best I've ever had. With such a huge selection of cakes on display and the warmth of hospitality, I can't wait till my next visit!

I went to this Teashop the other day with my friends and it was a great experience, not just for the delicious food (we tried the specialty, spinach & banana cake ) or the careful and oh-so-cute décor, but also for the owner and the clientele who were extremely welcoming! Will definitely go again!

What a lovely place; cake, tea and the charming gent who runs this cute little shop! You can't go wrong, the cakes are to die for. We had red velvet and lemon cake with a pot of tea. Stunning. The owner is just a very kind young man who happened to be in whilst we were passing on a Sunday. The shop is supposed to be shut today, but I thought let's say hello. Well, he welcomed us in even though he was closed and sat and chatted with us and asked us what we would like to have. All the good reviews are true. A very talented man whom I hope will go on great British bake off one day. :)

Здесь царят строгие правила, касающиеся этикета, за невыполнение которых вас выгонят на виду у всех! За их выполнением следит сам владелец, которого красноречиво окрестили «фашист». А в целом наверно нам повезло. Потому как все прошло довольно спокойно, хотя на лице владельца не проскользнула даже улыбочка. Мы выпили традиционного чая с выпечкой, немного поболтали, расплатились и ушли. Но кафе это запомнился нам надолго тем, как в нем чтят вековые традиции. Браво!

Disfruté como una niña en éste salón de te, su propietario lo regenta con gran cariño y simpatía. Nos comentó que él mismo preparaba las tartas que vende y estaban deliciosas. La decoración está cuidada con mimo, hay pequeñas tazas y teteras por todos lados en ese minúsculo local donde nos sentimos muy bien acogidos. Pedimos un afternoon tea con pasteles y sándwiches que resultó ser casi una comida, estaba todo fresco y con un sabor estupendo. Merece la pena visitarlo!

Stopped here for revitalising tea and cake on a weekend trip to Brighton. What a little gem. It's only small with 5 or 6 table inside but it's so sweet. It is decorated in vintage style with flowery crockery on all the shelving. The tea and cakes are served from mismatched china. The young man serving, who I think was the owner, said he made all of the cakes to recipes conjured up by his mother who the tea room is named after. He had a good selection of cakes, including spinach and banana cake which was brilliant, and he was really friendly and pleasant. I would definitely go there again.

Very impressed with this tiny tea room in Kemp Town. Lovey China and nicely decorated room. Cake portions were extremely generous and the owner who served us was so friendly and smiling. It was a nice Mother's Day treat.

I was in London for business and on a whim, decided to catch a train to spend a late afternoon in Brighton. It was frigidly windy when I arrived and after walking around the town a bit, I started looking for a place to brace myself with a cup of tea before heading out. I'd had a recommendation to try to find Leman Tea Room and it was well worth the additional (but quick) walk. It's so small, I actually walked past it while trying to find it. The owner kindly let me in and it was bliss. So warm and toasty, and adorably decorated. I ordered a slice of their spinach and banana cake, and a cup of tea. Both were just what I needed. The cake was fresh and not too sweet at all. I polished it down with my little teapot of tea. The owner left me alone to my thoughts and to warm up at my own pace, never hurrying me. I love little finds like this, with plenty of the owner's and local character throughout!
