Lee's Kitchen in Central Bedfordshire

Fabulous Chinese takeaway we go every time we are in Bedford. We live in the North East and come down to visit family and go at least once. The food is good and freshly prepared and the staff are lovely.

We ordered a meal from this restaurant for the first time on Saturday 6/1/2024. The meal was honestly the best Chinese we e ever had - it was absolutely delicious. Can't wait to try it again. Five stars all the way

Thought we would try something different so when to Lees kitchen , really good value for money , great food and great service

Small portions, not value for money compared to other local competitors and expensive delivery - even the prawn crackers were half not a full bag. If you pay extra you expect something better. My first order and will be my last, better options available locally.

Had the Kung Pao Chicken which was nice and spicy. The portion size was ok and sweet & sour chicken was crispy. I like more sauce on my chow mein. However, they charged a lot for delivery.... especially given that I am not that far from the restaurant. Plus they charged to use a debit card. For those reasons, I would be unlikely to use again.

Good food but prices have increased dramatically (20% ish) while portion sizes seem to have reduced. Would have said best value locally up until recently, will try some other restaurants now and may come back but by no means certain. Was a customer every 2 weeks or so for around a year although had 1st visit since October this weekend and it’s definitely gone down hill. Disappointed

Charging for card is ridiculous food amazing but outpricing themselves gone up £ 7 a meal in 2 weeks

Amazing vegan options! Really impressive menu, with lots of choice. On the pricier side, but portions are large. Our go-to Chinese!

If I could give ONE star I would. The worst experience I have ever witnessed. From recently just moving here we have spent nearly £80 with this place tonight. For the food to turn up COLD, tasteless. The worst quality ever. And sent me shellfish when I specifically asked for Vegetarian as I am ALLERGIC!!! We called to tell them of our experience to be shouted at repeatedly. To be called liars when we requested for our money back and food to be picked up immediately as you couldn’t pay me ti eat that. The worst customer service EVER!!!! I will be reporting them immediately. We have phone conversations recorded also. Do NOT spend your money here!!!!!! You’ll be out of business soon.

There got our order wrong I am never ordering from them ever again there need to start listing I ordered duck but there forgot to give it to me

I order Chicken Chow Main not ones but ones a week for the last months and it’s always delicious is my weekly treat when I’m in the office the delivery is quickly and they know where they are going and the people on the phone are friendly the dish is always consistent delicious and everything in the dish tasted fresh I love my Chicken Chow Main

We have been enjoying Lee's Kitchen for the last two years plus. It never fails to consistently impress, from the quality of the food to the generous portion sizes . Our food is always delivered promptly on many occasions by the friendly delivery driver Ali - he always has a smile and kind spirit- a real asset to the Lee's Kitchen Team Tracey

Myself and my partner are both vegan and always struggle to find decent takeaways. We had Lee’s Kitchen for the first time this evening and WOW! Their vegan food is nothing short of amazing. I would definitely recommend this to any vegetarian/vegan.

We have now been ordering our Chinese takeaway meals from Lee’s Kitchen since October 2021 since having taken enough of the horrendous customer service we received from the New Delicacies of China on Tavistock Street. Before we ordered from Lee’s Kitchen, we tried just about every Chinese takeaway in Bedford, but after we tried out first meal, we were hooked! Its now been over 6 months and we wanted to provide this feedback because so far, we have had absolutely amazing food, absolutely amazing service and absolutely amazing prices. The food is always hot, always on time and always with a smile, especially from Catherine and Harry. We know that if we order our meal for a particular time, it will be ready for that time, always! If you’re looking for a Chinese takeaway and have tried the others in Bedford, we are absolutely confident that if you try Lee’s Kitchen, you’ll be hooked too! Well done to Catherine and her team. Been a customer for years as food is nice, but customer service is horrendous, frequently items missing from order, very unsatisfied now need to order another from somewhere else as they won't rectify problem totally fed up of their incompetence

Ordered online. Very simple and easy. Food arrived on time. Food was great and delicious. Noticed portion size had reduced from when last ordered from here with price increases plus now they charged for delivery which used to be free within a certain radius pre - COVID so worked out a bit expensive for what I had ordered

Amazing vegan choices. They really know what they’re doing with tofu and have clearly worked hard to put together a vegan menu. Superb flavours. Our new favourite takeaway!

Ordered £60 worth of food, was good but I realised one dish was missing, phoned to tell them was basically called a liar and that they had definitely included it!!! Have used them for 10 years plus and they know us!!! Won’t be using them again!!! Will go elsewhere....

Waited nearly 3 hours and still not here. Heard good things but this is ridiculous They finally answered phone and was so rude - disgusting

Shocking, first time I used Lee's kitchen, I found meat in my vegetarian curry. I called & asked for a replacement & was called a lier by the manager who claimed he cooked it & there was no way it had meat in it (see pic below). They then send me a fresh vegetable curry after hanging up on me, with no rice so can't enjoy it anyway as the rice was mixed with the one that had meat in it. Absolutely disgusted at the manager's attitude, he didnt even have the decency to be quiet & listen. Will never use again. I'll also be reporting and taking further. On a positive note delivery driver was very pleasant.

Excellent customer service. Food is always well cooked & hot, never warm! whether delivered or collection, even if collection is delayed. One of my new favourite takeawaysBUT, the food is way too salty. We’ve had two orders recently where we didn’t eat some of the dishes because of the salt level. Heavy handed at times especially the special chow meins / rice, oyster sauces and black bean sauces from our experience. Please reduce the salt. By doing so, you are taking steps to help people reduce the risk of poor health associated with high salt intake but still producing great tasting food. But we still love so many of the other dishes here.

Worst service possible from a restaurant over the till and on the phone food always come wrong! Clean food but all in all the restaurant is appalling.

Polite and friendly manners whist taking order over the phone. Delivered almost on time. Delivery driver was very polite.Food was hot, and tasty..This is the 1at orderinf from here, and shall be returning back.....

Delicious Chinese takeaway, always fresh and pipping hot. They have always been happy to make small amendments to dishes on request. Highly recommend

We had our first takeaway from Lees kitchen this weekend. What a nice surprise. Delivery: although told it would be 45 minutes, it was at our door within half an hour, as I had paid by card over the telephone the delivery was handed straight over.The food was hot, plentiful, tasted great and looked delicious. We had chicken and pineapple, special fried rice, pancake rolls and king prawn balls which came with sweet and sour sauce with a bag of prawn crackers and dip, free of charge.I shall be using this takeaway again and would recommend it to friends.The only grievance I have is the appalling menu on the web site which is unreadable, I did ask for a menu to come with the order but it did not materialise.

Very average chinese food was bland curry awful. Was cold by the time I drove home to putnoe. But the prawn crackers were hot? Not impressed as I was told they were the best in Bedford. Actually not found a good chinese here

We've ordered twice now and will be back ! The food was very good both times and tastes freshly cooked with plenty of vegetables and meat. I note it also rates a 5 star food hygeine mark - another plus point.

Manager let us order a Takeaway for the pub next door, it was hot and delicious with good size portions, spot on highly recommended.

Ordered with a friend for the food to be delivered. Arrived 15 minutes earlier than they said. Lovely delivery guy. Food was piping hot, freshly cooked and delicious. My friend still talks about how it was the best Chinese meal she'd had in years!

The best Chinese we have had in Bedford! Food hot & tasty & delivery good. Haven’t had a bad meal in the six months we have used them.

Really sad to have had a bad experience tonight they gave us the wrong food then had the audacity to argue with me down the phone and tell me to give back the other food that they had given and refused to give me my right order.

We Had a family takeaway recently from Lees Kitchen and 3 of us have been very badly sick I 100% would not recommend this takeaway at all.

Salt and pepper chicken. beef chow mein all lush. fast delivery. piping hot food. pleasant staff too.

Ordered from Lee's on Saturday night having read the good reviews here and I wasn't disappointed. The food was fresh and hot when it arrived after about 30 minutes which on a Saturday is very good going. The food was tasty and the portions were good. I had 2 dishes and a rice and ate it all (I had just played football so was hungry) which I usually wouldn't given how greasy some Chinese take-away's can be. Myself and friends were very impressed and I will be returning!

Once again a brilliant take away. The best in Bedford by far in my mind. I usually go and collect and the food is always ready and hot when I get there. The quality and taste is fresh and delicious. Can’t fault it. Also the lady behind the counter is just lovely and remembers your name which is a nice touch. You must give it a go, you will not be disappointed.

Por lejos la mejor comida para llevar china en Bedford, en lo que a mí respecta. Las verduras son siempre frescos. El pollo y la carne siempre es tierna y la comida siempre lista para recoger a tiempo (aunque también un servicio de entrega si no desea recoger) no vayas a ningún otro sitio. Pruébalo. No te decepcionará. También la señora que corre es tan amable y educado, siempre recuerda su nombre y bastante a menudo en algunas galletas saladas de gambas de lanilla. . . . ¡Genial! !

Escondido al lado del hotel Moat House, y a un tiro de piedra del río, este pequeño para llevar chino no es tan bien conocido como el Palacio de Pekín o sus inmediaciones varios competidores Tavistock street, pero Lee es sin duda vale la pena probarlo. Teníamos 2016 Cena de Fin de año para 4, con pato aromático y platos principales variadas. Realmente me gustó la carne con pimientos y salsa de alubias negras, pero todo lo demás estaba bien.
