This cafe is such a gem! Super friendly owner! Makes dogs super welcome too bringing fresh water out each time and treats. Lovely comfy furniture. The house red, banana milkshake bbq chicken pizza we had were lovely and very competitively priced. Will be back again and again. Nice family feel with a personal touch. As a regular customer I’ve got nothing but praise for Leeds house cafe. I’ve read the other negative reviews and they make me angry as I’ve witnessed first hand several times people thinking it’s acceptable to get a Gregg’s and sit at the cafe tables to eat it. This is so rude and unacceptable. I’m sure the hardworking owner feels the same. Hence why he may of been grumpy to such customers who then went on the leave a bad review.

The owner of this establishment is incredibly rude and unhinged. Which aligns with the rest of the reviews! (Ones that didn’t come from his mates probably 😅) Avoid this place at all costs - don’t give them a penny. Here’s what happened: I sat my 90-year-old grandma outside, took her to use the toilet and then ordered her a cup of tea so she could sit comfortably while I took a quick walk around the farmers market with my mum and boyfriend. We planned to return to the cafe, join my grandma, and order lunch. During this time, my boyfriend saw a sandwich shop he liked the look of and bought a sandwich. He went back and sat with my grandma whilst waiting for me and mum. Before we could return, the owner came out, started filming my boyfriend, and rudely demanded that he and my grandma leave. He did this simply because my boyfriend had a sandwich from another place, which to be fair I completely understand. What I don’t understand is the owner’s disrespectful behavior. Instead of politely asking my boyfriend to eat elsewhere, he treated him poorly and made my elderly grandma, who was a paying customer, feel unwelcome. And they felt ostracised and embarrassed. The owner then loudly badmouthed them to other patrons, claiming his cafe “attracts a load of weirdos.” We obviously didn’t eat lunch there, and the cafe lost £30 as we took our business elsewhere. There’s no need for such an attitude. I hope the owner sees this and realises he needs a major attitude adjustment. If he had delivered his reasonable message politely and respectfully, we might have given him our business (albeit regrettably!). Also, the food looked terrible, so it’s not worth your time. The only reason it gets any business is because of its location and lack of other options. Avoid this place.

horrible owner shouted at us and called us 'c*nts', he then went inside and smashed up a load of their furniture, was shouting inside for ~ 10 minutes. really nasty attitude, very scary. please don't go here!!

Cracking little cafe in the square at Otley. Nice seating area out front. An absolute sun trap on a nice day. Great value for money. Pot of tea was massive. 3 tea bags. Must be about 5 cups🤭 Didn’t eat here but all other customers who did food looked very nice.

Ignore the negative reviews I have been here several times and have never had a negative experience. The owner is always friendly and very helpful . The pizzas are freshly made and taste amazing Will be back again soon

Tried this cafe at the weekend, would not recommend, my friend used the toilet as I was waiting for her to order. I stepped outside for 1 minute came back in to find a male berating her, shouting “that this wasn’t a public toilet”. We left obviously, choosing not to spend our money in this establishment, poor attitude, will not return.

Looks like a nice place. Ordered 2 jacket potatoes with tuna. It smelt funny when it came. Tuna,was funny brown colour, potato was funny colour inside and smelt weird. All looked off. Tasted a smidgen of tuna but not enough to tell taste really. We said it wasn't right and we didn't want another making. They gave us the drinks free. Heard them discussing they don't sell enough tuna so will take off menu.

Very rude man who appeared to be the manager, loud and unfriendly, covered in tattoos and scruffy, won’t be back there are lots of cafes to choose from in Otley, the food was only average also.

So disappointed with the food for the price I'm lost for words I honestly thought how lovely does this place look on the outside very cold on the inside atmosphere wasn't the best two men being overall loud the lady who served us was super nice that's the only upside to my experience you could make better food at home.

Absolutely shocking an 11 year old asked to go to the toilet and wasn't allowed! The staff was really rude to my child

If you want an ordinary coffee (not, for example, a flat white - which is on the menu by the way - because, according to the owner "it's all a load of bollocks anyway") and if you don't mind being shouted at by that same owner when you point out the order is wrong, and if you don't mind hearing him shout at his staff, and if you enjoy watching every single other person also get the wrong order or walk out because they've waited so long or because he's been rude to them, then this is the place for you! Otherwise, go to one of the other many coffee shops in Otley in which they don't shout at you and know how to make coffee.

I always walk past this place for some reason but we went in today and I’m so glad we did as the food was great, decent amount of food for a fair price and the owner was so friendly. Lovely little place 🙂

This was our third visit...as we enjoyed the coffee on our first..the Beer Pizzas and Jacket Pot and Chilli on our 2nd and today we are enjoying the fresh Coffee and Tea Cake today..we sat next to the heater and had the added bonus of thick luxurious blankets..and the Staff are extremely friendly....love the location ..

Pepsi served from an already open bottle resulting in it being flat, wierd oil substance in the glasses and scones clearly bought front the local supermarket. Very poor experience

We thought we’d try this cafe because my daughter didn’t want fish and chips. Went in and asked the man at the counter who looked thoroughly miserable if they had a menu. He said they didn’t. He didn’t tell me what they had I had to ask him. All they had was pizza and jacket potato. Took ages to come. Pizza was microwaved and the potato was in a bowl with no salad. Not worth the money. Went to pay and the man had no manners. No customer service. Awful!!

Absolutely the best coffee shop in Otley very friendly nothing is too much trouble cakes and coffee top quality, the owner always makes you feel welcome a great guy.

Ohhhh WOW.!!!! Treated like royalty and had a fantastic lunchtime/evening.!!! My gorgeous lady and I decided on a whim to visit Otley today as neither of us have been down in at least a few years. The weather was scorching, and after about an hour of walking round Otley market and old shops that we were both really happy to see that were still open and sound amongst this crisis we are all suffering from. We then realised we were both quite parched and in much need of a nice cool beverage 🍻🍹, so we decided to return to a really lovely cafe/bar we have both been to before separately in the past before we met. Well OMG we enjoyed it so much we didn’t end up leaving for another 4 hours later. After all the years it has been since we were last there, Rawson who is the absolute gent who owns it all gave us such a fantastic reception and made us both feel like royalty form start to finish. As I mentioned above, the weather was scorching and he brought us out a big parasol to shelter us from the hot sun and also had all the glasses he served us drinks with in an ice cold fridge so they wouldn’t go warm. We watched him work as we sat back and people watched with comings and goings from the market buyers and he seemed to have this wonderful cheeky rapport with all his customers and even the market stall owners, bringing them cold drinks filled with ice etc which they seemed to really appreciate. We never had an empty glass thanks to Rawson’s watchful eye and brilliant hospitality. We will without doubt be going back, and going back soon just so we can experience all that lovely vibe and made to feel really special again. I have read previous very negative reviews before I wrote this, and I just cannot believe any of it to be true seriously.!!!! This man works so clearly hard for his business and very certainly highly regards all his customers with the upmost respect, albeit in a lovely humerous cheeky way. But if people sadly think that it’s ok to come over to Leeds House Cafe and expect to sit within Rawson’s premise and eat pasties from Gregg’s and then use his toilet after, well, come on 🤷🏻‍♂️.!!! I know I would comment on that if I owned this wonderful establishment.! Thank you Rawson 🤝🫶🏼.

Dingy looking, a sign with snoopy on I knew that this might not go well but the kids were starving what can you do other than prey! Ok we went in kids got seated the seats where grubby tables un-wiped I was very unsure to say the least but the kids running the place actually was the best thing about it...... nothing but a little old lady running around trying to keep up but sadly not doing I can only say the place needs some serious cleaning I'm not sure how they get there food hygiene rating????? The kids ate pizza that tasted like it was from a microwave I had a jacket potato which was horrendous it was quite literally a potato in a bowl I would not recommend eating here at all the food is truly awful and the hygiene is truly dirty but my story is not over there last but not least....... I went to the toilet on leaving and had to climb a narrow stair case on my way back down the stairs one of the stairs was wet I slipped and managed to stay up but now my back is damaged I took a picture of the stair way and the owner will be hearing from me soon I am disgusted!;thank you for completely spoiling my trip to otley

Went a few weeks ago & had 2 nice coffees. Good service from a pleasant man. Roll on today. Bacon sandwich was terrible. Looked like it had been pre cooked, burnt & then warmed up. 1 coffee was fine but other came minus the milk. Requested it again. It ltook ages to come & the owner was so damn rude & aggressive. I didn't even get to mention the sandwich as god knows what he'd have said. Won't be going again as lots of other lovely cafes thereabouts.

Where to start... awful place terrible bitter coffee that leaves an awful taste in your mouth cake was stale and wanted to go in the bin! Owner tall and grey, thinks hes something, was abusive and aggressive towards other customers. Clearly thinks the cafe (rented) is the best around. All cheap food and yet shouted he's not Greg's! yet thinks his food is quality. Cranberry was rated the best in Otley for a reason, not because of how it looks, but because of the quality food and the amazing customer service. Server looks like he needs a good wash and stinks of cigarettes. They clearly don't like children or anybody to be honest, from what we saw. No customer service at all. They were Smoking inside the cafe (against the law), laundry was hung outside where you sit. On a whole, I really wouldn't bother, looks can be very very deceiving. Go to Costa or Cranberry, just down the path. The photos on here aren't a true representation, no breakfasts other than sausage sandwiches or bacon sandwiches are sold here. Jacket potatoe comes with nothing else, not even a side salad. He doesn't have a clue. Been there 20 years so he said and still has no idea.

Awesome place, dog friendly, serving coffee and cake after 4pm!! (all other cafes in otley closed!), relaxing outdoor seating with blankets if it gets a bit chilly.

Looks the part - smart interior, nice signage but that's it really. There's a soup terrine on the bar, leading us to order 2 soups. 3 flavours on offer today - we both chose chicken, weren't offered a choice on bread. It came as 2 bowls of Heinz chicken soup with white sliced bread! Heinz tinned soup?! Really! We could've stayed at home & warmed that up! (not that we would as I make my own) Certainly expected homemade when out or at least put it on the menu that it's just a tin of. Such a shame as the position of the cafe is great & money has clearly been spent on making it look the part, just needs more idea on the food being served

This is a lovely little cafe that stands out from many of the others , home cooked food , great location , dog friendly and great friendly service from all the staff. Very cosy inside when the weather is not great but also lovely to sit outside when we do get the nice weather I think that many of the reviews on here are a bit dishonest ,they seem to be from customers who think it is ok to buy food from the Greggs or the market order a drink and then sit outside the cafe and consume it , no other food establishment would allow this so the owner is well within his rights to ask them not to do this . Give them a chance and try it for yourself , I am so glad I didn't take notice of much of the rubbish written on here.

Popped in for a drink and bite to eat this is a little gem in the centre of Otley the staff are amazing and the beat bit its a family run cafe with massive attention to detail tea cakes and scones to die for and the nicest pint of peroni I have had in a long time keep being unique it was a pleasure to visit and we will definitely be back

A real gem of a place on Otley’s market square. Great to sit outside when the sun is out, but also some cosy seating inside for when the weather isn’t so good. I moved to Otley a couple of years ago and have been made to feel really welcome at Leeds House. Rawson and Graeme are great guys and I’m pleased to call them my friends. That’s how welcomed by it is. If you have time to spare and would like a laugh, please do read some of the negative reviews. I have read them and the vast majority are from people who turned up with their own food…and they think that is okay. It just isn’t. Anyway, cracking place, cracking staff, I love it.

The manager should not be in the service industry!!!!!!!! I think the 20+ terrible reviews say it all. It’s unfortunate as it’s in a great location and could be a wonderful little place but the man has absolutely no clue how to conduct himself in a appropriate or civil manner. His attitude and behaviour towards customers was terrible but when he started swearing in front of my two young children and other customer it made the place feel more like a truckers stop. I was going to say not family friendly but the place was just not friendly!! AVOID!!

MANAGER is aggressive and rude! After sitting down outside and ordering FOOD & DRINKS for the whole family from a member of staff who needs customer service training in smiling and greeting, we left immediately after the drinks arrived. The market was on and we purchased some onion bhajis from the market. We took one out to show our young children what they were and the manager leapt on us shouting very rudely ‘you cannot eat your own food here we aren’t a transport cafe’. He didn’t give us a chance to explain that we had ordered food from the cafe and we were just showing our children what it was. We told him we are leaving the drinks as his tone was aggressive and rude and left us embarrassed in front of customers. My partner told him we were leaving and he continued to shout so he spoke to him inside and tried to explain and next minute the manager came out flaring his arms in front of lots of families with young children involving swearing too! We were disgusted and it left him embarrassed in his own cafe. He shouldn’t be a manager in any industry and he clearly needs to leave any personal issues at home and give a professionals device. Just appalling his be about, tone and aggression towards us when we didn’t eat our own food just took it out to purely show the children what we got for snacks later on. Please do not go here with children espeically with children who cannot eat off the menu - he’ll aggressively ask you to leave!!

First time visited this place and cafe , look lovely from outside but service very poor, wait ages for our order only cheese on toast , keep asking all we got was its coming , totally Disgusting even had pay full price , please its only on time but never again

We go to Leeds House cafe regularly and get a hot drink and a cake. The owner is lovely and always happy to help, in the summer we loved popping in for a beer and sitting outside. I hear they are doing breakfast so we are going this weekend

Called for a light lunch and settled for scones, jam and cream, and tea. Largely due to the friendliness and humour of the waiter it turned into a very happy experience. Will certainly visit again when we're in the area.

Great little place on the square in Otley. Great for beer and milkshake for a half an hour break. The service was fantastic by the lovely owner. One thing to note is they do not take card.

I came here for lunch with my husband , the food was lovely and generous portions too! We had a fresh grounded coffee and cheesecake all of which was lovely. The staff/owner are so very friendly and chatty. Would highly recommend eating / drinking here....

We visited on the hottest day of the year and the lady who served us made the place 5 star. Great sandwiches and milkshakes - the salads looked great. But it was the welcome - so warm hearted and nice..added sunshine on a very hot...

Another visit today to this fabulous bistro. Nothing is too much trouble...bacon sandwiches are the best we've ever had...and the cheesecake is to die for. Lovely setting...amazing staff and truly delicious food. Dog friendly too...perfect x

Mientras tomaba un café en este encantador café, presencié el comportamiento de una familia, que se sentó a pedir unas copas, luego dos de los miembros de la Familia junto con un niño pequeño se dirigieron a Gregg a través de Market Place. Regresaron y comenzaron a comer los rollos de salchicha que habían comprado y se preguntaron por qué se les pidió que se fueran. Seguramente el sentido común le dirá que esto no es aceptable no solo por razones de alimentos e higiene, sino también por razones comunes. ¿De dónde sale la gente pensando que esto es aceptable? Apoyar plenamente las acciones del propietario. Esta noche iré a tu casa, traeré mi propio té en tu baño y veré qué sucede. Debería haber más gente como esta Chap, que no dejará que la gente se orine.

Visité hoy por primera vez con mi familia. Nos quedamos totalmente sorprendidos por la rudeza y la arrogancia de la camarera hacia el grupo de personas en la siguiente mesa, que estaban eligiendo en el menú cuando, de repente, la camarera voló arrebatando el menú de sus manos y les gritó "su ¡No comas ninguna otra comida aquí, vete! "Me di cuenta de que uno de los miembros tenía una bolsa de otra tienda de alimentos cercana, de ahí el comentario extremadamente duro, pero creo que ella podría haber manejado la situación de una manera mucho más profesional y tranquila. . Mi familia y yo no volveremos otra vez y estoy bastante seguro de que después de su terrible experiencia tampoco lo hará la familia en la mesa cercana a la nuestra. El buen servicio al cliente no existe en la casa de leeds.

I have visited leeds house cafe for the last 12 years nearly weekly the staff and owners are great so warm and welcoming I visit on my own most of the time and feel the love of the establishment from the moment I walk in the door the food is fantastic and the company is great too all at a reasonable price for freshly cooked food I wouldn't go anywhere else thank you Trina and rawson for a wonderful experience.

We called in on Sunday afternoon, we’d just been for a walk and wanted a light snack. We ordered the Five Bean Nachos and a coffee. The coffee was very good and the Nachos were amazing, easily enough for two to share. Lovely location on the market square. You can watch the world go by. We will definitely be coming back here. Very good value.

We visit Otley often and stop by Leeds House for a coffee and a bite to eat as Rawson is very friendly and always makes time for a chat.

Staff seem to be very keen on bossing people who come into the restaurant. Not my first visit by will be my last. Food is mediocre, accommodation is cramped and there's so much choice and far better available very close by.

We are regular visitors to Leeds House Cafe because of the great welcome and fantastic food and drink. The portions are hearty and great quality. Dog friendly. Well worth a visit.

Called in for a coffee and scone this morning, and got snapped at by the waitress after a bit of a wait, and trying several times to catch her attention, to order. She was extremely rude to another customer who was having the same problem. It was busy and the food was good. Shame really but I won't be going back.

Not just a great place to sit & watch the world go bye, the food it fantastic, I recommend the bacon & mushroom sandwich it is HUGE, great value too. The chaps on the next table had a full English each, I would say if you only want one meal a week that would be it MASSIVE is a understatement.

This quality establishment provides an excellent alternative to fast food cafes, visit and be prepared to enjoy friendly professional service, enjoy the freshly prepared food, we especially like the coffee's and often share the delicious carrot cake they have on offer as the portions are of a generous size.

This place should be buzzing in this location on a Saturday afternoon. I was surprised that we easily got a table in a cafe in the middle of a busy market......Until I was snapped at twice by the host........ The sign inside welcomed us to the place but the greeting I got made me want to leave. The attitude when taking the order at the table was similarly harsh. Maybe the regular local people of Otley are used to this but I am not.

From the minute we entered this well run cafe we were made to feel at home. The staff are very friendly, efficient and attentive and the drinks and food are both freshly made and look very appetizing. Would recommend the Leeds House to anyone.

I would never go back to this place again. I was told off for feeding my child food I'd brought with me. My daughter was 1 year old!!!!!! Outrageous.... I was offended by the lady waitress attitude and could not believe what she'd said

Si estás buscando una estupenda cafetería independiente, entonces no busques más! La casa de Leeds en la plaza del mercado, la cafetería es el lugar perfecto para parar y re-combustible. Comida caliente y excelentemente presentada. Si pides el desayuno inglés completo, espero que tienen hambre porque está fabulosamente MEGA! Café de buena calidad, y si eres delicado como yo y mi madre, latte, hecho a la fuerza que te gusta (y es recordado por la próxima vez que visite) y una fantástica selección de pasteles. Los propietarios de Rawson y Treena son unos anfitriones excepcionales. Muy trabajador y siempre te hacen sentir bienvenido. Sin duda hay más visitas de nosotros viniendo tan pronto!

8 adultos y 2 niños presentamos aquí en un soleado domingo por la mañana el mercado de agricultores. El personal era muy servicial y amable. La comida se sirve en forma oportuna. El desayuno inglés era enorme! El único inconveniente era que no había trona para los 1 años de edad y no gluten menú gratis para uno de nuestro grupo. Espero que este estará en el menú de la próxima vez! Sin duda recomendaría este café. Gracias!

My wife & I on our way from Harrogate to the Wirral went to Otley for a drink & sandwich. WE saw the Leeds House cafe which looked so nice we thought to stop there . My wife went over to a takeout for later on the road. I went into the Leeds Cafe & was asked if I was going to be seated which I said yes & my wife would join me. I went to the restroom & when I came down the waitress said that we were going to seat. I replied yes & told her ! would come back with my wife. I went over to the takeout & waited for my wife to buy the things for the road. Next thing the girl came over accusing me of using the cafe as a toilet in a very aggressive tone! Next moment a young man came over abusively accusing us as using the cafe as a toilet stop(We were about to go over & sit down at the cafe) He called me a liar & then in very aggressive terms shouted Get the F.....g p..ss out of of here! I thought he was going to hit me.!!! My wife ,& people in the area were completely shocked with there behaviour. I can understand where people coming into his cafe just for toilet reasons would be unfair to them but this was NOT FOR THAT REASON! I am nearly 80 & lived in the States for over 33 years.We have now returned from the States----I have never been treated this way in my life. I hope they wake up & realise what a mistake they made!!!

As part of an Emmerdale Tour, we stopped off at Otley. Found this cafe in the market square, in brilliant sunshine, so great for an outside visit. My wife had the cafe's interpretation of the BLT sandwich, the largest and best she has ever had! I had the cheddar and red onion Toastie, which had a mountain of cheese on brown bread. I had a hazelnut latte, which was a 'true' latte in every way.The lady serving was like a glass of bubbling champagne, hence every table outside was occupied. Would be great if they did home deliveries to Glasgow! Visit if you can.

My wife and I called for lunch today. It was fantastic eating out in the seating area which is right on the edge of the market place. We had a lovely meal and drinks in the sunshine. I had the bacon and cheese melt on toast which was really tasty. Will definitely be coming here again.

We eat here regularly when visiting family in the area, and always receive a warm welcome. The food has been consistently good. We would certainly recommend it!

Very good position in the Market area, sunny aspect, plenty of things going for it. However, disappointing in most respects. Coffee boiling hot, you should never putt boiling water on coffee. Fundamental failure to preserve flavour and aroma.Chips were crispy.Sandwich had no butter or dressing. Dry bread does not eat well, bread soaks up moisture, very unpleasant.Coleslaw, crisp cabbage but gooey mayonnaise spoilt the portion.Nice touch giving a cooked tomato slice.Coffee sweetener unable to dispense pills. Attention to detail needed and some knowledge of customer expectations. Not a place to take anyone or take a meal or drink....

This cafe in the centre of Otley is in a good position and serves good, tasty food but the menu is very limited. I expected a good range of baguette type sandwiches and paninis but the menu is limited to breakfast type food - mainly bacon, cheese, beNs, eggs etc. Would visit again but only if the menu is extended.

Looking for a place to eat in Otley on Sunday happened to find a bijou cafe in the market square. The cafe was quite small and a few low ceilings but staff are well versed in reminding the taller customers to mind their heads. I did not have a problem but my husband is 6ft 3in so he had to be careful. Cafe was clean and tidy, staff quickly came to serve. We ordered 2 all day breakfasts and I can honestly say my jaw actually dropped at the sheer size of it. The food was beautifully cooked and piping hot. This was by far one of the best cooked breakfasts I've ever had. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending or using this cafe again. Whilst we were there a family came in with 3 children and immediately the staff were on hand to move the tables together so they could all sit as one which we thought was a lovely touch. One thing to be aware of is they do allow dogs in this cafe which we didn't mind as we are dog owners ourselves and no food is prepared downstairs as the kitchens are upstairs but another thing to be aware of is that the toilet is upstairs and is shared by men and women as there is only 1 but the stairs are quite steep. It was spotlessly clean throughout, and although some could consider 7.95 quite expensive for a breakfast I did not need to eat another thing all day long. Absolutely perfect!!!!

Have been in this cafes on a couple of occasions recently and found the owners very friendly, chatty and pleasant and the food and drinks were of good standard.Would certainly recommend to friends

My mother enthused about the friendliness of the owner/staff that we simply had to visit. My wife and I visited for a light snack, and I have to say the whole experience was a great pleasure. The food was great, the service, so personal and attentive, we felt extremely valued as customers, and with the quality of the food and service I have no quarms in giving a full five out of five vote!!

I have never in my life been to a business where they sell food drinks etc and heard and witnessed behaviour like i did at this place. The owners who I believe is a thin bloke and a women in her mid 40's + are the most ignorant owners I have ever met in my life there attitude to the table next to us towards there children was shocking tutting shaking there head because the child is upset the fouls language out of the males voice was laughable / shocking we had a big breakfast and sandwich a tea and a coke £12.50 + the breakfast went strait through me like a dose of salt I will never go to that cafe again if you paid me in gold

We have been to this cafe numerous times sometimes on our own sometimes with a large group of friends and we have never been disappointed. We cannot recommend it enough. The full English breakfast is almost too big to handle, the coffees are just how we like them strong and hot. The chili is nice and spicy too. The owners and staff are very welcoming and pleasant. Don't mention football! Please ignore the previous reviews which were submitted by the local competition obviously. This is definitely the best cafe in Otley!

I have never left a negative review in my life and if I could rate this cafe a minus I would !!! I do realize that this is not a Michelin starred restaurant, but dear me, I also think that you can expect some sort of standard when you go out to eat. Unfortunately, the standard at this cafe was very poor. Where do I start? Well we visited this lovely looking cafe one saturday afternoon in november, accompanied with 2 other friends we sat down and waited patiently to place our order, While waiting we noticed a bit of a commotion going on with another family who had two small children with them , it appeared that the owner of the cafe was telling the children off for touching her fish tank, in not a very pleasant manner at all, needless to say the family left immediately in disgust. Even with all this unpleasantness we decided to stay and order as it was raining outside and we did not want to trail somewhere else.The waitress came to take our order, WELL I have to say I have never been greeted by such a miserable looking women in all my life, obviously she was still a little upset with the fish tank incident, We placed our order and I just casually asked what all the commotion was about ? she basically told me to mind my own business and stormed off with our order.She arrived a little while later with our 4 coffees and sandwiches , she placed them down on the table with such a bang that the coffee spilled over the sides of the cups , before we had chance to say anything she then walked off abruptly with the same sour look on her face, ( that's enough to put anybody off the stale food they serve)If you are expecting fresh hot coffee and home cooked food then think again, the coffee was luke warm and the ham sandwich was full of fat and cheap marg it had an awful fusty stale taste to it. It was literally the worst meal we had ever been served.We did not bother complaining as I dread to think of the response we would have gotten, we paid for the over priced fusty food and luke warm coffee and left quickly.Shortly after the dreadful experiance we visited the local market for a look around and we just so happened to mention our experience to a couple of the traders , it seems we are not the only ones to have complained about the rudeness and poor quality of food and they have had many many complaints over the past few yearsHow on earth people like this get to run a business is beyond me, think its time that they moved on and let somebody more talented in hospitality and culinary skills take it over .

This has a great location and the food is ok, I hear the breakfasts are very good although I have never had one.Where it lets it down very badly is the very assertive mangeress. If you child walks anywhere near the fishtank she will very quickly tell you not to go anywhere near it. I also witnessed her being overly assertive with a member of staff which was uncomfortable.Otley is blessed with lots of excellent cafe's, this is not one of them. Suggest you look on trip advisor to find out which they are

Very nice location. Sat outside and had a huge English breakfast which was superb only the bacon was overdone for my liking. We also ordered a Club sandwich which was okay.

Tried to order two coffees here on a Monday afternoon, received a very frosty reception from the waitress and had two menus shoved at us. The waitress continued to be rude and abrupt throughout the ordering process. Before leaving we reported the behavior to another member of staff, whose reaction could almost be described as aggressive. It appears that they reserve polite behavior only for their 'regulars'.

Avoid. Anti-children establishment, prime location. Unpleasant and rude to customers, its only the central location which is keeping this place going. It could be so much better with a better manager/ owner who encourages families. There are signs up here to keep your children seated, and not to go near the fish tank and juke box (which every child would).
