Do not order from this place. I normally NEVER do reviews but in this case I need to! I spent £40 on a order - the crispy beef came burnt, literally could snap it off as well as crispy chicken - dry. I have a video of it but couldn’t upload. I made the mistake by ordering directly and I phoned the restaurant, a nice lady(the server) answered and said to call back. Called back and she passed message to explain Lee, the manager, said no refund or nothing, just don’t order again? And just said our food is cooked fresh? What’s that got to do with food being burnt / over cooked? Disgusting customer service, violation, as you’ve served over cooked food. Feel robbed. We work hard for our money and this owner does not deserve a penny off people! Would never order again and will never order direct and always through another party. No wonder this place removed from Uber Eats. Please do not waste your time with your place.

Ordered takeaway through Uber Eats and put a note stating no bell peppers in one of the dishes. The note was completely ignored and the dish was full of peppers. My daughter-in-law has an allergy, so her meal was totally ruined.

It's a wild ride from the moment you step in, like entering a parallel universe where soy sauce is king and fortune cookies are the oracle. First off, this place is buzzing more than my nan's living room during a soap opera marathon. The atmosphere? Electric. It's like walking into a market in downtown Beijing, except it's in the middle of the UK and everyone's speaking Brummie. The menu's more confusing than a Rubik's Cube. It's got more options than my wardrobe on a Saturday night. I'm standing there, staring at this encyclopedia of Chinese cuisine, thinking, "Bro, do I want crispy beef or am I a sweet and sour chicken guy today?" It's a culinary crisis every time. Service speed? Faster than my cousin Usain after he's nicked a samosa from the kitchen. These guys whip up a feast faster than I can say "duck pancakes." It's like they've got a F1 pit crew in the kitchen, doing a tire change but with noodles. And the food, oh man, the food is a vibe. The crispy beef is so banging, it deserves its own Spotify playlist. The fried rice? Fluffier than my cat, and she's a Persian. Every bite is like a flavor bomb going off in your mouth. We've been trying all the Chinese restaurants in Harborne and this is our favourite by far. Very affordable prices and large servings with generous quantities of meat. The crispy pineapple chicken in particular is a stand-out.

The food here and the atmosphere is amazing. Just walking in makes me feel as if I am eating the food already. Really scrumptious food and well presented. The best Chinese takeaway place in the area. The workers are so nice at this wonderful and lovely place. and Would come here again!

Attempted to order from here last night using UberEats but had to cancel the order after waiting 2hrs for the delivery. Tried calling them several times but no answer.

I order Beef Satay and the beef I received is definally not having a satay sauce .As well food tasting so bad .

Poor quality over priced food. Granted my request for no egg in my rice however it was smothered all over the vermicelli. I've never known egg in this dish before. Sechuan sauce was below average with zero flavour and the tofu was bland and not seasoned adequately. Won't be buying from here again. Very disappointed. If I Could Give Zero Stars I would - First and last time I'm eating here! Ordered Won Ton Soup and Spare Ribs (Peking Sauce) Soup had a funky smell to it, soup was bitter, tangy on the throat, gross ! Like they had just make the soup out of something they had left over. Never had Won Ton Soup like this. The Spare Rib meat you could tell was old and just re-heated with sauce poured over it. The soup I couldn't eat at at all after 1 spoon. Yuk ! Threw it away. Ribs had few bites, threw them away too. Service was prompt on collection though. I've order from KangXi Imperial down the road couple times, and it was tasty, and a lot fresher. I don't know how businesses can serve this quality of food.

Been a few times now, 3 times for collection and 5 for delivery and every time have the drivers been well mannered and on time with food piping hot just as one wishes! The store is accomodating with leather seats enough for 6 sets of backsides with plenty of room standing too. Good prices and good portion sizes too and great food. Personally I like the Cantonese sweet and sour and the salt and pepper chips/ SP chicken. The BBQ and curry sauce are also good with drier dishes to dip into. Regular customer now!

I’m really sad to be posting this review. We’ve used Wong Lee / Lee Takeaway for over 10 years and it’s always been good and reliable. Tonight we had a really disappointing meal. We ordered for delivery and were told our meal would be about 30 minutes. 19 minutes later our bell rang and our order arrived. We were obviously surprised how quick our order arrived. My wife ordered a Chicken with Pineapple. The chicken was hot on the outside but lukewarm and slimy in the centre. We both tried it and spat the chicken out. I phoned Lee Takeaway to tell them that we were not happy with our order. I was told that we were welcome to change it for another dish as long as we went to collect it as they had no drivers. We found that odd because our order that was supposed to take 30 minutes arrived in 19 minutes. The driver actually told us that it was a quiet night. After a bad experience with the chicken with pineapple my wife didn’t want to order anything else. When we explained that, although Lee Takeaway apologised, there was no offer of any sort of refund or credit. They then put the phone down. I phoned back to tell them that I was disappointed in their customer service but they didn’t seem very concerned. Really disappointing.

Really disappointed, not sure if it’s changed hands but food definitely not up to scratch . Always have Singapore chow mein which used to be delicious..... hot, spicy and full of flavour, now it’s bland and could be called “noodles with bits of chicken. I know we’re living in difficult times but cutting out ingredients and necessary spices isn’t going to bring in custom. Sorry Lees.... we won’t be back 😢

I think this take away has changed hands? Its unhelpful that its cash only. I had meat spring roll, very greasy and the chicken chow mein was bland. However my wife had special Thai Green Curry and she said it was delicious and one of the best she's had this year. So, an honest 4 stars, I'll give it another try with something different but please get a card machine. Great staff and service.

First time I’ve had food from here. Unfortunately they forgot the fried rice from our order but rectified the mistake within minutes. Have to say the food was delicious in particular the crispy aromatic. Duck and the spare ribs. The schezuan chicken was succulent and delicately cooked. Will defiantly be ordering from here again

Had food from this place several times it was always delicious. Don't know if there's a change of owner, But...had a take away last week..Food disaster = rice can't chew like rubber, spare ribs couldn't eat not sure what that meat was Bin the lot....total waste of money £11🤮🤮

We found a hair and a piece of hard plastic in our order yesterday. We called the place and not only they didn't apologise but they told us not to order again and that he didn't card about the evidence. We will be definitely escalating the complaint as higher as we can.

We have been ordering from here for a few years now. The food is very tasty and they have a great choice of menu. Everything tastes fresh. The delivery is usually quicker than the time they are quoting. Out of the 20+ deliveries we had from them we only had one incorrect starter delivered once which I really cannot complain about. Especially as it was quite tasty. Never had any issue with customer service

The satay chicken is to die for

My local Chinese has become extortionate in their prices now so we price this one. Bloody WOW is all I can say. They even rang me to double check my order and make sure the road was correct 👏👌10/10 for customer service. The food was SOO tastey I will definitely be ordering from them again. Your battered prawn balls are DELISH 😍 I was dubious about ordering from here after the reviews aren't so great but for me this will be my new Chinese takeaway 😊

This place is a joke! Customer service on orders is alarming. The manager is very rude to customers and the food is not that great. Would never go there again!

Used this place for 20 years for a reason. However their customer service is appalling when they get things wrong. It's never their fault, can't send you any replacement cos they are far too busy and (their words) and never offer a refund. D order on a weekly basis but no longer.

The customer service was shocking, we ordered spareribs which were hard to chew, chef special black bean sauce that was questionable (didn't taste like what I'm used to), special kung po (sauce was tasteless). I voiced my concerns and all I got was "sorry there's nothing I can do". I will NOT be ordering from this establishment again!

I've been buying food from this takeaway for years! I'm actually shocked to read some of the bad reviews, the food here has always been of a fantastic quality and never lets me down in flavour. I don't tend to eat from takeaways but this is a place I trust. I highly recommend Lee Takeaway. Finally I think comments about how the staff speak is utter nonsense, I've never struggled to understand or be understood by the staff.

Picked up food it was cold and I only live 5 minutes away chicken was fatty and rubbery one of the worst chinese takeaways I've had in a long time

-Girl on reception couldn't relay basic telephone order -Delivery took an hour when quoted 45mins. -Wrong main dish sent (later refunded) -Poor response upon informing takeaway manager. -All in all. A terrible experience. It may be a one off but I will not use them again or recommend.
