Lee Garden Takeaway in Argyll & Bute

Does some great food but most food is to greasy and some things are over priced the best thing is the customer service because they were very nice

After visiting someone in hospital we thought we would get a takeaway for tea. Wish we hadn’t bothered. Sweet and sour and Kung Po chicken both had the same unnatural red sauce. Chicken balls were doughy and the chicken in the Kung Po was almost non existent and chewy dough once again. Luckily the pancake rolls were edible, if rather greasy. Money for old rope comes to mind. Not going back.

Plain tasteless food. Sub standard quality. And also be warned they take cash only. Avoid this place like the plague. Terrific Indian just next door. Or go here if you don’t respect your tastebuds and have a hankering to raise your salt levels 10 times above the level of good health. I have given this 1 out of five because it’s not possible to give less but it is certainly earned here. Go on a cooking course or have the decency to shut.

The food looked like it had been reheated from the night before and was generally of a poor quality. All three of us were on business and said we wouldn’t ever eat here again.

We had read the reviews and a little worried but gave them a chance. The service was great and the food was really good, a great little takeaway.

Beautiful food. We ordered a takeaway and drove back to Crinan. The food was still nice and hot. The Hot and Spicy soup was great. It was full of meat and veg and definitely hot and spicy! The Sweet and Sour Chicken Hong Kong style and the Crispy Beef with Chilli and Honey were both really tasty. They both had gorgeous sauces with lots of meat and vegetables. The rice was great, cooked well and also tasty. We also had a portion of chips which were cooked well. The lady that served us was delightful, very friendly and recommended a different starter for our boys to try. They loved their wantons and all wanted more. We will be back. Thank you. x I’ve read a couple of previous reviews and some mention that it’s expensive but everywhere is expensive these days. It’s no dearer than similar restaurant of the same standard.

We visited Lochgilphead on a Sunday night and not much was open, so were recommended this takeaway. It was very good and a good selection of food. The waiting room was a bit tatty and when waiting the spices from the kitchen came through to the waiting area and made your eyes water. The service was good and the food was scrummy!

It was really expensive but it was actually quite decent food. The crispy chilli beef was lovely and the prawn crackers were nice too. If I am being honest though the food was not really worth what we payed for it. It is probably the best Chinese in the area though.

Carry out restaurant food was not too bad standard fare but was a bit pricey for a carry out was the only genuine Chinese in town

Nothing special, just good takeaway food, I would use again if in area. Waiting time ok as well. A busy little place, obviously used by regular customers

Ive been a regular to the lee garden for sometime but the past few times i have been the food has been awful , chips some where still frozen and not cooked properly the rice was like reheats from the night before . The manners from the staff are awfull to apart from the young boy who is always pleasant but the rest of the staff dont say a thank you or good bye . It looks like the people who runs this establishment dont have a care or passion for cooking chinese takeaway meals it is also very overpriced in my opinion . I wont be back unless standards pick up i now enjoy cooking homemade chinese meals.

We had a power cut so were forced to have a takeaway. Next time I think it would be better if we went hungry for the night. Ordered chicken but still confused as looked like frozen strips from low budget freezer shop. Rice and chips were obviously reheats, possibly from last night. Cold stodge. Yuck!

I guess it doies what it says on the tin, but doubt it would survive in a more competitive environment. Food was OK at the best, no card payments and fairly antique menu.

We love the Lee Garden Takeaway. We've dined from there on several occassions, trying something new each time. I find the sweet and sour sauce not to my taste, it's a touch sharp for me - but I have peculiar taste buds in many respects!! Great value for money but Cash only - no cards - so don't get caught out - that said, you have time to walk round to one of the local cashpoints and grab some cash. I will be back - time and again!!

Decided to have a Chinese for tea last night. Food was not enjoyed. Seemed like reheats in microwave. Peas in curry were still frozen. And chips were overcooked - hard and brown.

Tasty food, quick service for collection in the shop. Good variety on the menu. Served us perfectly for a Chinese takeaway meal on our visit to the area.

Resto seulement à emporter asiatique. Si vous êtes dans le coin, ca dépanne vraiment. Ne vous attendez pas a de la grande cuisine, très basique!

I ordered my food and later collected it good service and alright to good tasting food an hour later I was feeling sick and not well it was not Somthing else I had eaten I had had no difference in the rest of my day so I presume/99.9% sure it was that

First time time n last time at this Chinese.got the special fried rice,first time I've ever had a fried egg on top of my Chinese.meat was disgusting,rice was over cooked n it was £7.80.i wouldn't pay a £1 for it.

Buena selección de comida, rápidamente preparada y muy concurrido, lo que siempre es una buena señal. Quizás un poco tímido en la cantidad de las salsas para los platos que pedimos, pero aparte de eso bien.

Food has gone downhill since another person took over food always has too much garlic in it which overs powers the food.You can see a difference in quality also

The place has potential to be brilliant. Unfortunately it has been handed to people that are cutting corners and reducing portion sizes. People won't be happy about it.

Having read really mixed reviews my daughter decided to get us a takeaway to give it benefit of doubt. Oh dear what a huge mistake. Prawn crackers were ok as were chips but rest was mainly put in bin. The sauce with Chinese chicken curry was cheap and tart. The vegetable chow mien tasted strange. The rice didn't really look good and tasted worse. Wouldn't recommend or ever use it again when in area. Wouldn't want anyone else to think of buying such poor quality food. Don't like giving poor reviews but the food was dire

Come here for take away When we can! Love the ribs, salt and pepper or BBQ.Fried rice dishes are brilliant, and the prawn crackers are awesome. fast service and good food! Havent been disappointed yet!

Phoned order for a family members birthday , half an hours drive there and half an hour drives home to open up the wrong stuff. Very disappointed as it was for my dads birthday. The chicken is of a poor quality and the ribs that where over priced had no meat stall on them . Also the food is too pricey.

I was staying in Lochgilphead with work and went to the Lee Garden for a takeaway. I had sweet and sour chicken battered balls with egg fried rice. The chicken was very chewy and the batter was extremely greasy, as though it was placed in fryer before it was heated correctly. My work mate had Chicken with mushroom and chips. He did not enjoy his meal as the chicken used was the brown thigh meat which in these kind of dishes I think breast meat should always be used. There was not much chicken either, mainly gravy. We were both disappointed with our meal and wont be back if sent on business again

Always had good chicken curry and also chicken with green peppers and black bean sauce would recommend only fault is not sit in

Ideal if you lack adventure in your quest for culinary excellence. If you like cold bland food and don't mind paying over the odds for it this is the place to be seen.Good point - portions are very small so ideal of you're on a diet.Thinking of going vegetarian but not sure then do it gradually. Chicken curry contains only 3 small pieces of chicken. The rest is made up of peas and onion.
