Wine selection is uninteresting The starters were good but the main meals average

We only had the hot mezze as a lunch. Five dishes were a good amount. Recommended is the Lebanese tea, very refreshing to end the afternoon.

Visited today for lunch with my wife, son and new girlfriend. The menu was excellent, offering so many tempting dishes. I chose here because my wife and I are meat eaters, but my son's girlfriend has a tendency towards vegetarian, but will eat some white meats. The variety on the menu made this the ideal place to meet. The food was superb, it came out really well presented, and tasted wonderful. The spicing was not overdone, and really enhanced our meals. The pricing was very reasonable, less than £35 per head. I travelled here from Southampton, and would happily do this again.

Didn't really know what to expect, but was very pleasantly surprised! Very attentive staff serving very nice flavoursome food. Good selection for many including vegan, but the lamb was great! I'd come back again if visiting the area, but way better here as an independent than any mainstream restaurant! Love it. Many thanks

I go to this restaurant very often, the food is perfect , the listening staff is amazing. The atmosphere is very cozy. All the waiters are very polite and friendly, always greeting you with a smile.Deserts my favourite, the best in the town ❤️

Always a go-to place with my parents. Very chilled vibe. I've come to like their fish more and more (specifically Sea bass and Sea bream), it's s very flavourful and perfect. FYI, I don't have a sweet tooth, but dessert...🙈🤭🤗 their house Dessert and/or the hot chocolate cake with Ice cream, you can never go wrong🥰👌🏾 it's just right, the right way to finish your course!

I recently visited Libanez House in Newbury to experience their Lebanese cuisine. The restaurant offers a welcoming and cozy atmosphere, with stylish décor and attentive staff. The menu includes a variety of traditional dishes, such as hummus, tabbouleh, and grilled kebabs. I tried Lamb Moussaka , which was flavorful and well-presented. The service was prompt, and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Overall, the experience was very positive, with delicious food and excellent service. Visited on a Saturday Evening, and Booked in Advance. Service was quick, and Food was Delicious - Full of Flavour, and Exciting Textures! Would have been 5 Stars but unfortunately our Waitress was rather inexperienced, and messed up our order twice, and failed to apologise - disappointing when the food was just so so good!

Food excellent however the set menu seemed much more expensive than last time we visited. We will prob do mains and starters separately next time. Chicken was tender and delicious as always. House wine delicious. Restaurant a bit cold during this weather snap. Service was good but a bit slow with only 3 tables being served. Overall food delicious as always but Set menu seems overpriced for what you get now. Was a lovely lunch overall.

It's a shame that we're only passing through Newbury tonight. If we were local, we'd be regulars at this non-pretentious family run Lebanese. My teenage daughters and I love Lebanese food, so booked ahead. We had the set meal, and be advised that it's A LOT of food, so come here hungry. All the food was delicious and we especially noticed the very high quality of the hummus and baba ganoush compared with other restaurants we've dined in. The chicken pieces were also excellent and a bit more yogurty than some of the drier versions done at other restaurants. Service was friendly too and I thought that we received strong value for money. Should I need to overnight in Newbury again when shutting my eldest to uni, we won't hesitate to come back to eat here.

We were a big group for Boxing Day dinner. Service good, food is always good, and recommend the lamb chops. Slight difference in the menu to previous years and slightly more expensive we thought, but nonetheless a good choice for meat and the usual Mediterranean fare, particularly in Newbury. One slight negative, the accompanying salads had little to no dressing, and an over abundance of raw carrot shavings. But overall would highly recommend!

Lebanese Newbury is a very good restaurant. The staff were all lovely and friendly, and the food was delicious. I celebrated my birthday today with lunch there alongside friends. They even gave me a free dessert and cake. Thank you so much!

I was invited to a good friends 50th Birthday Celebration Meal - I had never experienced Lebanese Food before - apart from an occasional Falafel. I am mainly vegetarian as well. The food was delicious, so many wonderful flavours and textures and I enjoyed every dish that was presented by the staff, whom I cannot praise enough for their attention and hospitality. I highly recommend the food, the friendly service and atmosphere of this restaurant.

I recently had a significant birthday and asked to host a dinner in the function space upstairs in their Newbury location. From start to finish these guys are a pleasure to work with. They obviously embody the culture of Middle Eastern hospitality, which means they accommodate, flex, provide and completely lavish fantastic food and drink as much as you can fit! They were really great about being part of the birthday and ensuring all of my guests felt welcome. All of my guests rolled home with full bellies and smiles on their faces. I can never fault these guys. From Hind on arrival to Mohammed throughout and at the end, but all of the team were brilliant! No one goes above and beyond like Lebanese House to make their guests feel so welcome. Thank you again for your marvelous hospitality!

I went to a birthday party in the function room upstairs and was served a three course meat sharing menu. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. The price was also very reasonable. I’ll definitely come back again! Thank you very much!

We had to travel 35 mins East of Swindon to have the best Lebanese food , as there is hardly any good Lebanese in Swindon - with a spacious and beautiful outdoor and indoor sitting area, kind and professional staff and fresh tasty food , Lebanese House has justice to beautiful Lebanon's elaborate cuisine ! We had the Set Platter for Two which contains a serving of Hot Mezze ( Tabouleh, Hummus, Salad, Calamari, Falaffel, Chicken Wings and Mince Meat wrapped in Wine Leaves and a Generous portion of fresh salad with Freshly baked Bread- it was a meal on its own 👏🏻 The waiter took that away once we were done and presented the BBQ platter ( Lamb Seekh Kebabs, Lamb Chops and Chicken Botis , served with rice , salad and bread - well cooked meat, tender and very flavorful. The dessert was 3 pieces of Kunnafeh drizzled in pistachio sauce - very rich and very fulfilling. I appreciate the Kunnafeh was freshly prepared as it was piping hot. Soft drinks are seperate as every Lebanese joint. With our bill, they gave us two local Lebanese sweets in a Lebanese handcrafted locket with our bill - class 👏🏻 The bill was as a standard Lebanese restaurant is - I would recommend it more for occasions due to the price rather than everyday lunching but I am grateful for the great experience 😊

I have been for the first time a few weeks ago. I was surprised how lovely it is inside, the decor is amazing and the atmosphere is pleasant. The staff are polite, friendly and ready to help anytime. I personally had lamb moussaka, it was delicious. Definitely recommend and will go back again. Thank you!!

We have come here a few times and every time we have an amazing time! Such a lovely place. The food is delicious but most importantly the service is remarkable. Everyone here is attentive and kind. They reset and clean the table for you each time you finish your starter, mains, and then desserts! Which is absolutely lovely. We came for a birthday this time and the staff was able to hide our cake in the back and bring it out with candles singing happy birthday. I’d highly recommend the hummus, chicken wings, and the mixed grills!

Been few times now and I like the place. Price is fair for lebanese food. Usually higher than standard restaurant but this is not standard food after all. Ask for recommendation. Do not only stick to the menu. Let the team help u.

Superb, I'm not sure where to begin because everything was just excellent. The food was delicious and between five of us we shared several dishes on the menu, I couldn't choose a favourite. The decor is crisp and fresh and the ambience is friendly, chatty and relaxed. The service could not have been better the Maitre D (unfortunately didn't get her name) is completely on it, she is organised, keeps an eye on every table, is quick with serving the food and absolutely charming. I am a full-time Wheelchair user and I hadn't realised that there were too steep steps into the restaurant. I was in my power chair and could not negotiate the steps. The staff would not consider anything other than getting me into the restaurant. The guys from the kitchen helped and lifted me in my chair into the restaurant. My chair is very heavy but they were clear that they were going to do it. In the 14 years since my injury and using a wheelchair user have rarely seen such helpfulness in this country. Thank you to everybody at the restaurant for being so helpful, so determined to make sure it all worked, and so lovely. What a great evening we had. P.S Speak to The Old Vine about their ramp

Nice restaurant to have dinner with friends and family, especially if you haven't had Lebanese food yet!

My husband and I have passed this restaurant on numerous occasions whilst shopping in Newbury and always commented that we needed to try it. Well today we have and we regret not doing so sooner! We were greeted by a very accommodating waiter, who offered us a lovely table by the window. After reading the delicious sounding menu, we opted for the mixed grill for two, as we hadn’t been before, to give us a taste of a selection of food. When the platter came out we were not disappointed it tasted as good as it looked, the meats were succulent, seasoned well with traditional spices, the salad was fresh and crisp, along with the rice cooked perfectly. The waiter was very kind and added a selection of side dishes for us to try and again we weren’t disappointed the flavours so authentic, I particularly enjoyed the traditional bread. We would both recommend trying here and look forward to treating family and friends to a very special restaurant, also the food is very competitively priced good value for money.The 2 Chefs x

Following my retirement, I wanted to treat my team with a lunch. For dietary reasons, choice is limited. This restaurant was our choice at Christmas. We were very happy. As a result, we came back. So glad we did. Service is excellent but, even better, the food is superb. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Wonderful value and delicious. We decided to make it a regular event. I look forward to it.

Just been to your restaurant in Winchester and what a disappointment. My husband and I had the mix grill for 2, it was hardly anything , we had one small portion of rice to share and more salad than meat. Wouldn’t recommend anyone having it My in laws individual portion were bigger than ours. Sorry but the portions to share are a con and you should consider revising it or take it off the menu! Very disappointing experience

I had the moussaka. It was OK but not like other mousakas I'd had. There was not much aubergine. There were more onions and peppers cut into chunks, in tomato sauce. I had the Lebanese biscuits (house special?) for dessert. That was delicious. The atmosphere was lovely with beautiful decor The service wasn't great. My friend asked for an orange juice and got a beer. Then, when we asked to split the bill the waitor asked me to calculate it! (Quite a young guy) Edit: the manager just phoned to apologise that our experience wasn't as good as we'd hoped. I very much appreciate that. He said the Mousakka is just how they make it in Lebanon. I'm just used to how fheyte made in Greece. Thank you to the manager for your great customer service.

Excellent food, fresh and definitely made in house. Lamb cooked to perfection. Fantastic service. Been in the catering industry all my working life. Couldn’t fault a thing. The little decorated box the receipt came in was a great touch, might steal the idea.

This was our third visit, taking some old friends this time for an evening meal. The party included a vegetarian and a gluten intolerant, as well as a child. I LOVE this restaurant. So much choice on the menu and always attentive staff. They coped well with a party of six on a busy Friday evening service. The food is fresh with imaginative salads and really tasty sides. My halloumi main was DELICIOUS and the various meat choices of lamb, chicken, steak etc all presented colourfully and looked wonderful, six clean plates. The drinks menu equally good with a selection of craft ales (Beirut Beer and pale Ale smashing) and Lebanese wines. I am so very excited about a new branch opening in my home town of Winchester shortly - all my dreams come true! Tip: don’t miss the baklava and Lebanese Coffee

Now very established in Newbury, this restaurant has earned it's place as a great option for dinner. The food is very tasty, service is fact and friendly and the bill is not a killer. Well worth visiting for something non traditional

We always have the mezze as it is wonderful. The babaganoush is amazing. And the service is terrific, they are friendly, helpful and welcoming.

A very pleasant evening in Newbury - the weather superb. The service too at Lebanese House. My mains was a little heavy - too much yoghurt and not enough kebab in the mix (Fetat Lamb). However we shall return - ideal outdoor seating that is child and dog friendly. It felt very Mediterranean this evening and quite popular with the locals.

A stunning gem down a little side road off the main drag in Newbury. The decor is gorgeous, and the staff really pleasant. The menu is authentic Lebanese and wow, it's fantastic. I don't live in Newbury but I would drive back there for the food! Well worth a visit.

Excellent food, pricing and atmosphere. One of the few restaurants to really be up to date on vegan and vegetarian options in Newbury. Lady that served us was great, lovely nature and eager to help us with ordering. Vegan sharing platter for 3 , house tea with fresh mint and mocktails. Have just found a new and improved spot for drinks and food for the family when in town.

Totally surprised at how good this place is. Three of us popped in for house tea with fresh mint and a sharing platter that we couldn't quite finish. Probably the best restaurant in Newbury for vegans. If you don't like falafel try theirs and be converted, they set a whole new benchmark , as does their hummus & moussaka. Very reasonable prices. Staff are great Will be going back very soon.

One of the best places to eat out in Newbury, we don't go out much, but when we go, we always hope that's gonna be a good place and this it was amazing! Really good fresh food, all made to order. Amazing flavours, big portions priced correctly. We had meze for 2 in 4 of us which was more then enough so we can enjoy mains and puds also. Mains exceeded our expectation and deserts outrages(so nice to see something specific and not just copy paste like in most of restaurant arround just put some deserts on to make sure they have that option). Pics added have a look for yourselves. Puds recommend the semolina pud and the house biscuit with chocolate.

Nothing but great things to say about this place. Food is fresh and full of flavour. Beautiful salads, meats and humous. Top that off with Great service and atmosphere and you have a winner.

Excellent restaurant; fantastic food, lovely ambience, and amazing service. We were a party of an unspecified number, arriving at unknown times as we were a party in town for a business event and had travellers arriving from South America among our group. The fabulous restaurant manager not only patiently accommodated us, with several delays due to our overseas travellers being held up en route (we eventually all arrived 75 minutes after the booking time), but they placed us at a table with potential extra place settings for any additional arrivals as we were unsure of final numbers. A tricky booking to organise and manage but they were wonderful and didn't make us feel that we were an inconvenience at all which was very much appreciated. The food was brilliant, fresh, tasty and with great dish recommendations from the team. The meat was tender and the spicy sauce had a great kick! It was amongst the best Lebanese food I have had, I'm not usually keen on falafel but theirs was good, and the salad with pomegranate was amazing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend, or to return. Just fabulous.

Everything was lovely except it was very noisy. It was really only a couple of people who were very noisy, but it made it hard to talk and hear our own four person group.

Great meal...3 courses..For me spicy sausage followed by lamb chops plus a pud..the later warm with semolina and double cream..can't remember the name but looked like a small sausage roll..totally totally delicious and such large portions...all washed down with a Beirut beer and Lebanese red and staff so helpful Would really recommend

Ordered a takeaway last night and a dish was missing. Rather than taking it up with Uber, even though they assured me it had been sent out with the driver, they remade the dish and the young chap I spoke to on the phone personally delivered himself. Unbeatable customer service, and the food was outstanding as usual. Looking forward to the next meal here already.

Oh dear. After an excellent meal a few months ago, we went back to the Lebanese House last night. Food arrived very quickly, which was worrying. My wife's meal was lukewarm, the other two were OK. Atmosphere was really unpleasant. There was a table of 12 young men who were very loud, swearing badly and we couldn't hear ourselves talking. I know this in itself isn't the restaurant's fault but we felt that they had simply packed too many tables into too small a place. They even moved one of our chairs to squeeze past. A real shame as we have had several lovely evenings there. The final straw was the waitress asking if we wanted to add an additional tip onto the already added service charge. Why? Having read some of the one star reviews i strongly recommend that the owners look closely at what they are doing and what the customer experience is. Unfortunately we won't be returning.
