Outstanding meal! Visited for lunch. I had roast beef dinner with all the trimmings - opted for only peas/carrots as the vegetables, another had lasagne with chips, while the 3rd person had chicken goujons with garlic chunks and peppercorn sauce. Desserts of pavlova and choc fudge cake had, and 1 had french martinis. Best meals we have had in some time. The French martinis were very good. This is right on our doorstep, but we have passed by to go to our usual restaurants. Will not do that again. Staff were all friendly and attentive, assistant manager also very helpful. We booked an hour before going to ensure we got a table. Definitely recommend you try this place out.

Four of us went, having made a reservation, to LeWinters for an early Saturday evening meal. It was a long time since I was last there, and unfortunately we will not be rushing back. It was very noisy, and with some children being allowed by their parents to add to it didn't help. The meals were served promptly, although there was a general impression that the portions were small, despite the price . One of our group ordered pan fried chicken supreme, which was like roasted and served with a pepper sauce (as the menu said), even if a white sauce is usual. It was good to see the specials on a printed attachment to the menu, and not rhymed off by the server. Despite our reservations we did enjoy our meals.

My husband and I visited Le Winters at the end of last year for a Christmas main course. We were asked, when we went to order the Turkey dinner, which one type of potato we wanted, Mash, boiled or roast and any other type of potato was a side order and an extra price but that if we ordered the full Christmas lunch we could have 2 types of potatoes. We didnt want the full Christmas dinner as it was too many course and we just wanted the main Christmas meal but were told it wasnt served seperate and we had to order the full 3 course. But we could have the turkey dinner with 1 potato and pay for extra potatoes if requied, I have never heard of this before but it was confirmed by the manager so was obviously true.My husband and I decided not to stay and when going, had to pay for the 2 soft drinks that we never actually touched. When I went to the bar to pay, I once again got an explanation of the difference in the turkey dinner and christmas dinner by another member of staff.I paid for the untouched drinks and we left. Very disappointed with the service and menu as a Christmas or Turkey dinner contains 2 types of potatoes as standard.as we proved by visiting another local hotel a few days later where we got a really lovely meal with all the trimmings at no extra cost.

Had dinner here last night. Two of the staff that served us were very grumpy. The meal was good. I ordered duck with baby potatoes.that was exactly what I got. Duck breast and five baby potatoes. No garnish. A very boring plate. When I mentioned this to the only happy waitress she said they don’t garnish plates any more because nobody eats salad and it’s wasted.£14.95 for this meal was ridiculous. Rang this morning and the assistant manager wasn’t interested. Won’t be back.

Came in for a quiet drink with a friend for the first time. The bar staff were very nice got served by a man called Louis. He informed me about a good cocktails and I stuck to the classic of mojito. Being a bartender myself I could tell there was a difference in the recipe. Was shocked to look around and see a waitress with her hair down while serving food. Being in the hospitality profession myself it was a site I'm not used to seeing as you should always have hair tied up while serving or handling food. Otherwise the service was well from the bar. Will be in again to try the food and another cocktail.

The starter of crab cakes were excellent and the brownie dessert was good also however it was really let down by the pork stack as a main, far too much of a cream sauce that the whole meal was swimming in it and it overpowered the dish. The entire dish was beige with no colour to break it up and it all tasted of the cream sauce. I told this to the waiter for him to offer me as a way of apology a voucher "2 for 1". Firstly this was an offer I heard him give to other non complaining diners so it's hardly an apology and also I'm a solo diner so again this was an suitable apology.

My Dad and I stayed at Strangford Arms for four nights, so we made use of LeWinters for four breakfasts and a lunch. We had a variety of staff for breakfast, including one we had for lunch who was kind enough to get some soy milk for my tea. The next morning he asked if I wanted some for my coffee at breakfast :) I had a tuna melt for lunch on gluten-free bread, which sadly was the tiny rice kind that really only makes for good toast, but I'll usually take what I can get. They had the good seedy kind at breakfast, which was great for bacon and eggs! We always had the hot breakfast, and they accommodated our changes to the usual pretty well every time. The coffee was delicious, and only once we had to ask a few times for a new pot and ended up with two more!

love lewinters usually go around 3 times a month on my day of for a bite to eat and to chill out as the seats are nice and comfy, some of meals have really hit the nail on the head and are really moreish.. could possibly offer a few different desserts every now and again but whats on offer not to bad at all...now the waitresses!!!!! past five times we have not been offered desserts or coffees after are meal... have a sneeky feeling this is possibly because we generally eat around 9.00 and they just want to tidy up and get you out.. have also noticed a waitress on a couple of occasions say to customers that she couldn't make them cappuccino, latte etc because she had just turned the machine off????so only filter was given... have also had to go to the bar and get my own drink on 3 of these occasions.. the manager seems to be constanly telling the waitresses to stop standing around talking... on are last visit we used a coupon that the one of the managers had give us a few months before but for some strange reason the manager on that night seemed to be annoyed that we were using it when the waitress give it to him.. upper management needs to keep an eye on this as its not good for business I would of thought and just puts people of going to lewinters... theres a couple of the male waiters are very good and quite attentive when you get them...

Popped in on Sunday around tea time, we hadn’t booked but got a table straight away. We, two adults had roast of the day, pork, veg and a side and two children had kids meal deal. Food was lovely, served piping hot and very fresh considering it was well past lunch. Kids meals were home made chicken chunks and Fish gouging served with chips and beans, includes a drink and desert, good value at £6.95. Service was good, quick and friendly. Popular place on a Sunday as they have a supervised bouncy castle and games for children. Great idea so adults can relax, big area so you don’t hear the noise so if you don’t have kids don’t worry. Once upon a time, I would have given Le Winters the highest rating, but sad to say not anymore. In that once upon a time, I loved going there, big comfortable leather chairs, a place to totally relax and the food was beautiful. Great value for money. Then after a day of shopping we decided to finish off a lovely day by going to Le Winters, to relax and enjoy a wonderful meal. Oh dear! What a disappointment. For some reason they were now doing quality control. Now it wasn't only us who were disappointed, no, sorry, shocked is the word, as we could hear other diners pass remarks on the quantity. My husband ordered the chicken. and the portion was meagre. I would have put more on his piece for lunch than what was on the plate. I honestly don't believe that it is right for an eating place where you are paying with hard earned money, for someone else to decide what portions you should have. Cutting them down from what they used to be but still charging the original price. This may have changed from when we last visited, but the moral of the story is that due to what happened, we were not willing to take the chance at being disappointed again. To us, dining out is supposed to be a treat. Sadly this wasn't.

I've eaten here many times, always good food and service. On Monday that was a different story. Ordered food, the guy taking the order was less than interested. Food arrived and had the sides mixed up which we pointed out. He asked us to "just sort it out yourselves" followed up with " I didn't put the side on the plates". This was a different waiter from the person that took our order. Spoke to more senior staff, who apologised for this poor attitude. On the pros, the food was good, the waitress that attending to us afterwards was very polite and welcoming, however the evening was ruined by the previous members of her team. Lastly, put on some background music. Its Christmas afterall.

Staff were excellent, friendly and welcoming. Restaurant was continuously in flow, but not to the point of annoying and was a pleasant warm atmosphere to have a meal. The food is direct, simple, (Thank God), delicious and filling, with the staff member being very friendly, informative of meals and made the order simple to make. I had the bear battered Haddock, which by the fresh taste, must have been happily swimming around the Irish coast a few days earlier at most, and a good vet may have been able to revive it.. My wife had the gougons, stating, they were the best she's tasted for they seemed to have been cut from pure breast meat. Fully topped up, we headed off and the price was not too bad at all.. All in all, a delightful evening, good food, lovely atmosphere and environment with excellent staff. Indeed, such is the impression, we advised our Daughter and husband to book a meal here whilst staying at the adjoining Strangford Arms Hotel after attending a wedding at a non residential location at Greyabbey, the end of this coming week which they have done.

Stayed on for the Disco (Saturday Night) a very one sided approach is taken here drinks promotions are geared towards the female clientele ( not a single beer offer) Bouncers are more interested in chatting to the ladies rather than deal with the events that are unfolding. My daughter and I went for dinner last night at 5pm. Heaving noisy bar with kids screaming and running wild. Got a table and was presented with a menu as we sat down. Ordered two cokes. 15 minutes later we placed our order for food. We ordered two fillet steaks, one with mash and the other with baby boiled potatoes. Also a portion of pepper sauce that had no flavour.Steaks duly came. Tiny! And they were butterflied, obviously to make them look bigger. I was given 6 baby boiled potatoes (which were hard in the middle and not microwaved enough)........Very very disappointed in the tiny portions. Took us 4 minutes to eat our meal. Just over £50 for two steaks and two cokes. Very expensive!Waiter and waitress were pleasant. Paid our bill and went home. After getting home, my daughter and I were hungry again. Called in for lunch on break from work. Had the homemade vegetable soup with wheaten bread. Good portion size and was really delicious and filling. Would definitely recommend. Reasonably priced too.

Great spot in the square. Staff are always really nice and the young ones are well picked. All polite and clued in. Bonus - Dog friendly

Made the huge mistake of ordering from this place. I wish I'd read the reviews first. We were told that delivery wouldn't be long, 2 hours later we were still waiting. Rang the shop and was told it was "with the driver and wouldn't be long". 40 mins later still no food so we decided to cancel because expecting customers to eat food that's been lying in a car for over 40 mins is frankly disgusting. Tried cancelling but they wouldn't answer the phone, even hanging up a few times. Eventually the driver showed up (2 hours and 55 minutes after ordering) and we had to cancel it at the door instead.
