Always had lovely meals here. Delivery and eating in best Indian i have been to. Baji’s are to die for. Such a shame that they have closed down. Going to miss them so much!

As usual the food was very good and service was excellent I would recommend anyone to eat there and we certainly will go again we have had previous meals there they have always been very satisfactory.The onion bargees as a startersare amazing.

Tasty food and quick delivery at a decent price. No mint sauce for the starters unless your willing to pay extra 50p per pot (small pot). Will order again though.

Ordered at 5.10-15 arrived 7.10 decided on a different take and ordered Gosht massala, had gosht in a different form before, unfortunately I can't do green peppers, after waiting so long was too hungry to think about checking and there they were, the dreaded green peppers, also the nan breads were hardly cooked. Rang immediately to pretty much being talked over all the phone call eventually spoke to Mah who offered to replace it but it's too late when you like a meal and not have to wait up forever. Yes he offered a discount etc, not that I'll probably bother. The point of this, whoever answered was extremely ignorant kept ignoring my issue by talking over me and to other people inside , obviously thanking guests as they were leaving. Not acceptable under any circumstance. Concentrate on the person you're speaking not what's around you, I'm still a customer paying you a wage! Not anymore.

Genuinely old school Indian restaurant. I Don't come here often enough. Great staff , good prices, don't answer the phone so just turn up 😃 cracking madras with great table service. Friday night winner for a curry . Think they do take out also. K

Great starters but main courses were tasteless,with overpowering taste of salt.Curries very bland giving impression of being made in advance and reheated.Would not recommend and will not be returning 🙄

Lovely night out with friends. Been going to Le Raj for years and always enjoy! We were treated like Honoured Guests, all enjoyed their visit - even those who weren’t keen on Indian & had the best Chicken & Chips!! The rest of us had a selection - Poppadoms & Pickles, starters including Chana Chat. Then Chicken Biryani, Jalfrezi, Salmon Shashlik, Tandoori Mixed Grill, Lamb Khari etc etc. Brought our own drinks but soft drinks are available We all enjoyed the nostalgic After Eights!! Thoroughly recommend eating in, much better than a take away (but these are good too!)

We have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years and both the service and food are fantastic. Rahul is always friendly and helpful & we often visit with friends and family. They don’t have a licence so don’t forget to bring your own Cobra or wine! We highly recommend this restaurant.

Had a takeaway delivered to the boat, food was excellent. Had another one that I collected, food great again, but nan bread missing so a bit disappointed second time.

Ordered food tonight . Delivery driver rang numerous times as couldn’t find house . He had parked his car and was walking round the village we live in for 20 minutes and could not find house . We eventually found him but food was cold . Rang to complain to be told next time we order we can have a free onion Bhaji .. didn’t make up for £35 worth of cold food

Delivery was about 1hr 20 min which wasn't an issue but the food was very poor when it arrived tasteless, the worst I've had, I made them aware and they said this was there normal standard, avoid and you won't waste your money, our 4 meals went in the bin, and we reordered elsewhere, I'm not one to waste time writing reviews but thought it might save someone a bad dinning experience

Best Indian food by a mile in Selby area

Great food, it's BYO which makes it very cost effective.

Great value, classic delicious flavours. Don't forget to bring your own booze if you want a drink though.

I haven't been here for many year, the food and service was outstanding. LE Raj will now be my new go to Indian restaurant.

With a group of 16 and very happy with the level of professional service, correct ordering, hot food all served at the same time and to a very high standard. Great value for money with the Sunday meal deal. Highly recommend

Every single meal I've ever had from Lr raj has been outstanding! Fantastic andunique flavours outway any other curry house this side of Yorkshire. The staff are amazing and correct any misunderstanding with any orders asap. I 100 percent recommend Le Raj and will always order from them for their outstanding service.

Nice place , good atmosphere and great value with friendly staff, where you can take your own drinks, had the set meal for 2 , starters were lovely but both our different main courses were very bland and didnt actually seem to have any curry flavour or spice at all , so a bit dissapointed.

Starters nice please don't get the staff special unless you like though lamb chops and bolenase sauce

Visited Le Raj after staying in Selby for work, the food was amazing, the girl working the tables was lovely and welcoming and helpful, the food came out in good time and was cooked brilliantly, one of the best Indian meals I've had. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Just had a fantastic meal on Saturday 23rd October with a group of 7. The service was excellent, food very good quality and reasonably priced. Will definately come again. Took our own drinks as no license which was fine.

Lovely traditional food and great service from staff that we've known years....

Visited this place with my son, was asked what drinks we'd like as soon as we were seated, we ordered 2 glasses of Coke, it took around 15 mins to get those, no glasses, just 2 bottles of Coke, which we were charged £7 each for, that's £14 a Litre, 10 times dearer than Deisel, they got the order wrong, we were asked if we'd like Poppadoms, my son asked for 2, and off he went, came back with those and a dip tray after about 10 mins, I was left without even being asked what I'd like, eventually I flagged the bar girl down and asked for Onion Bhajis for my starter, they came back with 2 portions, one for me and one for my son, who had already had his starter, there weren't that many in, but it seemed to be all down to the girl behind the bar and one waiter, we were left waiting ages in between orders. I couldn't believe that the Poppadoms were dearer than the Bhaji's, all in all, this was my worst experience in an Indian.

Le Raj has been my go to Indian Restaurant for approximately 15 years in Selby. I do like to try others however, depending on what dish I fancy and who I'm eating with. I've never had a bad meal, in the restaurant or as a takeaway. We didn't have a great experience one time in the restaurant when service was extremely slow, but I wouldn't hold this against them and have been many times since.

We booked at table of 4 on a Friday night. The restaurant was quite so we got seated and served quickly. The staff were lovely and helpful and the food was delicious. We’re partial to a curry and it didn’t disappoint although we could have coped with more spice. The portion sizes were spot on and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. No alcohol licence so bring your own bottle.

My first visit here, went with my son, what a farce, the service was unbelievable, left waiting for ages for each dish, we were asked almost immediately if we wanted drinks, we ordered 2 halves of coke and it took around 15 mins to get them, there weren't even that many in, but it seemed everything was being done by the girl behind the bar & one waiter, but the bill was the worst thing, charged £3.50 for 2 halves of coke, that's £7 a Litre, 5 times dearer than Deisel, my son had 2 poppadoms with the assortment of dips, there were dearer than the Onion Bhaji's, this has to be the worst Indian I have ever visited, the Bhaji's weren't too bad, and 4 out of 5 for the Madras that I had, but the rice was more like Couscous. Never again!

They got our order wrong twice... Never actually received what we ordered... Even tho they quickly brought out a new order it was still wrong, i don't think I'll ever get that lamb bhuna...They didn't really seem to care, the quality was average at best with the meat dry and overcooked rice and sauces quite overpowering. I won't be going back..... You shouldn't either!

Worst Indian I have had in years. Just moved to area and tried out this place. Why is the curry so sweet and full of colouring, what happened to natural spice colouring. Very disappointed. Lamb was mutton tough as old boots very disappointed. Will not be going again. For people just visiting the area try Jinnah or cumin lounge much better at least lamb was tender and more natural in colour and good flavouring. Most of it went in the bin . Sorry guys but true.

We placed an order for a selected time for delivery and almost 3 hours later it finally arrived. We tried calling the restaurant to chase our order multiple times and were constantly fobbed off with excuses. Customer service is non existent. Staff are rude and unhelpful. When the food finally arrived it was cold. Appalling service. AVOID.

I have lived in selby for just over two years now and this is the best curry I've had since been here, very impressed by quality and quantity.

Le Raj limited restaurant is a big liar scammer and greedy employer Because Le Raj limited employer was lied I started work at Le Raj limited in 03/05/2015 to 13/03/2017 And I started work at Le Raj limited in 01/12/2017 to 28/06/2018 and they show wrong income details to HMRC This is wrong income the right amount of income that i had received from 29 February to 31 March 2018 all i received was £780 the employer has put that he has paid me £2340.00 this is false he didn't really pay me that much This is wrong income the right amount of income that i had received from 31 January 2017 to 28 February 2017 all i received was £748.80 the employer has put that he has paid me £1324.80 this is false he didn't really pay me that much This is wrong income the right amount of income that i had received from 01 March 2017 to 31 March 2017 all i received was £748.80 the employer has put that he has paid me £1000.80 this is false he didn't really pay me that much.

Best Indian about, however take timing for collecting takeaways with a pinch of salt

we visit le raj last night. Glad to see it open again The service was great and attentive as usual.They always make you welcome. The food is great and you get time to enjoy your meal. And don't feel rushed. The fact that you take your own alcohol makes it a reasonably priced evening. The special mix stater is a must ! And the lemon rice us very tasty They have a good range of curries to suit al taste. We have visited in the past with a vegetarian and they are happy with the menu We will definitely return.

Glad to be back at my favourite indian restaurant. Food as always fantastic and staff are so friendly and helpful. Would recommend Le Raj to anyone.

We love Le Raj restaurant and have been going for over 13 years but having to stick with take away at the moment. Fantastic once again tonight, brilliant service when I placed my order, came a little earlier than time requested which is excellent and the food was delicious. Contact free makes it safe too during these difficult times. Our favourite Indian food in Selby. My daughters always request Le Raj. Very happy customer.

Had 2 wonderful take away's during the lockdown. Food perfect and exactly as I asked for including spicing up a dish Friendly staff and great delivery men all social distancing upheld. Thank you 🙂

We ordered various starters and main courses plus different naans and rice for 9 of us last weekend. This was before the lockdown. Total bill only came to £106 and all the food was delicious and the portions were superb.

Another delicious meal at Le Raj! Lovely starters of bhaji, veg samosa and paneer tikka. Main courses fab and great service as always from Rual and his team.

Brilliant service and brilliant food

My wife, daughter and I booked Le Raj for our Christmas Day meal. The food was lovely and service excellent despite the fact that it was full for an Indian Christmas meal. For starters we had Chicken Chaat, Tandoori King Prawn and Fish Pakora. All first class. Our main course choices were Jardello Salli Boti Forde (sweet and sour lamb cooked in a medium curry sauce) whilst my wife and daughter opted for Swazi Salom (lamb). We had 3 naan breads, cheese, garlic and garlic and coriander plus rice. The food was all of the best quality and we were so full we did not stay for coffee and ice cream.In addition the great thing about Le Raj is that you take your own drink! The meal itself was terrific value and this just added to it. Super atmosphere with crackers, party hats and poppers all laid out on the Christmas decorated tables for all customers.

I’ve been going here for years firstly as a child with family then with friends and now with my own family. The food and service is always great and is our favourite Indian to eat at.

Been ordering takeaways from here for years. Unfortunately The last 3 have got progressively worse. Twice my order has been wrong and the food that was delivered was greasy but fairly tasty. This time has been the worst yet and I will be looking elsewhere. Rice was stone cold meals were not much better. The curry’s were fairly tasteless with 1cm if grease on the top and I was missing 3 portions of chips that they claim were not ordered. In summary the most enjoyable part of tonight’s meal were the popodoms and pickle tray

We have come regularly for over 15 years and have always had tasty food and great service. Staff are brilliant and the food quality and value are excellent.

Came here last week Nan bread was reheated and looked like sawdust covering the table Cheap cuts of meat coated in a curry paste,was terribly and finally fish starter was not cooked through and cold

I've been going to this restaurant for years and given it a good review several times but last night's experience was not good. We had a reservation for 6.45 and it wasn't very busy when we arrived. We had to get the waiter's attention to order though. It then took at least 15 minutes before we got our popadoms. The restaurant was filling up and by 8 o'clock was full. There was mainly one waiter but another two appeared now and then. We realised later one of them was doing the take-away deliveries. Anyway it took far too long for our mains to come. Everyone else was waiting ages too. The service was really bad. I think they must have been doing loads of takeaways, maybe they were short-staffed in the kitchen. Who knows?

Ordered through just eat. Chicken tikka balti swimming in oil Special pakora stone cold Chicken tikka main course just chicken Thrown all in the bin and have sent report to just eat. Won't be ordering again

The staff are really friendly and nice, and the food is great! It isn't our usual go to for Indian food simply because it isn't the closest to our house. But we have friends that used to go to Le Raj every week and love it. Le Raj is definitely a treat for us, and a great place to catch up with friends because they can seat parties of up to 14!

First time to Le Raj on Friday 9th August to celebrate birthday. My wife and I went with friends who had been before. There were a number of tables being used and the atmostphere was very good. Service was swift by friendly staff. Food very good and good value for money. It did help taking your own drink though. Will be going back in the very near future. Overall a great experiance. Whilst ordering at Le Raj I told the waiters that I was Coeliac meaning I couldn't have any wheat whatsoever. As the starters were bought in I was assured it was gluten free. After consuming I asked the waiter how they were made and he said with plain flour. I informed him I was now going to be very ill, to his response of 'ok' I then told him that for some people this can be as serious as a peanut allergy, to another response of 'ok' he didn't care whatsoever and proceeded to ask me what gluten and wheat actually was. After asking to speak to the manager, 35mins later he pulls up outside the restaurant (as at 9pm on a Saturday night he wasn't working?) he walks in the front door, the waiters tell him the issue and he walks out the back and gets in his car and drives off!! If it wasn't so serious it would be laughable!! After calling another waiter over he said 'yes I did think when they brought you that starter that you couldn't eat it' - didn't think to tell me!! So yes, an awful experience all round,, will definitely be going back to Jinnahs in future!!

Le Raj is a constant family favourite for us, great food at good prices. There will be a wait for food but its definitely worth it!

Visited with a group of friends on a Saturday night. The place was impressively full by 7:30, which must be a good sign. The staff were very pleasant but clearly doing other things. It was almost 2 hours before we got our main courses and by which time some of the nans had run out. The food was ok, not particularly authentic, but as you would expect. We suspected that the adjacent takeaway was occupying the cooking capacity at the busy Saturday night period. All in all, not put off, would be willing to give them another go. A big plus is that they allow you bring your own booze.

Brilliant food and wonderful service. We suddenly decided the rain was not going to bother us, we were going to eat out. Where to go Decided on Le Raj Had a great great meal and thoroughly enjoyed everything, Food Service Would and have recommend this place.

I ordered a takeaway on the just eat app last night and it said it would arrive at 21:25. Ten minutes or so after it should of come i thought id give them a ring to check that it was on its way. They told me it was on route and it wouldn't be long ( fair enough). Another 10 minutes passed so i checked the app and it said they had updated my delivery time to 21:55 . It got past then so i called again and they told me hes near by wont be long. 20 minutes later i called again for them to tell me they couldn't find the house so the driver went back to Selby but "its still warm if you want it" !! I asked for a full refund and have still not received it. they told me the manager would call me but it never happened!! I have contacted Just eat and they have sorted me a full refund and a voucher. The men on the phone we're rude and not helpful!

They ignore you so went elsewhere

Very nice meal with friends again this evening. Our second visit in a month. We both travelled from afar and met to catch up. A Sunday evening special price this time. It seemed busy too for a Sunday so that says something. We will be back and know our friends will be back next weekend as they are back in the area again. Thank you Le Raj Selby

Once again had an absolutely amazing meal at Le Raj last night. We've visited this restaurant for many years and I have no idea how you can better something that's always been good, but it just seems there's no stopping them :) The dishes have beautiful flavours, lots of tender meat and are always piping hot, the naan breads are the best (I am a fan of a peshawari). I enjoy mango lassi with my meal and theirs is the best I've had. So, if you're in Selby and you want Indian food you won't go far wrong here. They also have offer nights so check those out too, fantastic value. The staff are lovely and really helpful. There is a question regarding automatic doors at the end of this review, there isn't one, but you wouldn't be left to struggle!

Had a fabulous meal there with a group of friends. The restaurant is small but it has a homely feel and there is plenty of room. The service is excellent.

We recently moved but still travel 14 miles each way to sample the delights! Even as a large party of 40 we had lovely food and great service.

I feel sorry for the servors because they are all really nice people who provide outstanding service and awful food.

We normally eat Chinese or Pizza takeaway but decided to have a change and are very happy that we did! The food was beautiful! The vegetable masala is the best I’ve ever had and decided to try the Masala Chips........ Wow!!! We can’t wait to use again and are looking forward to eating in!

Friends had booked us in for a meal whilst visiting them in the area. 4 adults and 3 kids (1 fussy!) and we arrived slightly early but were still made welcome. We ordered various plates to share, starters and mains and had brought our own drinks for the non-drivers. Food was a little slow coming out but we were kept informed and we weren't disappointed when it came. Fussy child was disappointed with her Chicken Nuggets but all the Indian food was excellent. Bill was accurate and great value and would eat here again if in the area.
