Ordered a £35 vegan birthday cake. Not only did it not have any decoration it had unpleasant thick vegan buttercream on top and in the middle of a tasteless ginger sponge. Of the 10 people who had a slice, no-one enjoyed it, including my vegan husband who will normally eat anything. Refunded half the cost but it was a time-consuming and costly exercise ordering, collecting & then having to find something to decorate it with at the 11th hour. The only thing that was eaten was the crystallised ginger I’d put on top. Very disappointing

Loud, hyperactive, annoying staff. Bouncing around the place and screaming like demented toddlers. Told to sit down for table service, 12 minutes later a hirsute hipster arrives and asks us “guys” if we’re having a good day. Food and coffee was ok. The cheesecake was good. Natch the milk for the americano arrived in the obligatory small milk bottle. The staff seemed more concerned with banter between themselves and singing along with the piped, derivative “chill vibe” Muzak. Appalling service and a place to be avoided.

We visited around 2pm on a Thursday and got a seat for four of us. The service was friendly and relaxed and the menu had a good variety of breakfast and lunch options. We had a couple of toasties, a club and a happy little prints, all made to order. Ratios were perfect and included a fresh seasonal slaw, dressed in balsamic and sesame seeds. Drinks were freshly squeezed orange juice, chai latte and an apple juice. There are a lot of options on places to eat in Westbourne, but I'm glad we found this one and would highly recommend.

We were there for some time enjoying several coffee's & the most delicious toasted Hot Cross Buns. Petit Prince is always good.

Oh dear!! What happened to Le Petit Prince. We used to go there on a regular basis before lockdown and the food was superb. We then went there last October and the food was most dissapointing but we thought that was maybe a one off and so decided to give it another try today. Sad to say it was not a one off. The New York sandwich used to be superb, full of tasty juicy filling, the red cabbage slaw was great topped with toasted seeds and just the right amount of dressing. Not today I'm afraid. The sandwich was dry as though the contents had been pre- cooked served on a couple of slices of non descript bread and that lovely slaw had been replaced by a bunch of leaves. Increase the price by all means but don't drop your standards. We would be interested to know why this has happened. It was a great favourite of ours for a little lunch and one we recommended to many people but not anymore I'm afraid. I know that they now have four restaurants around Bournemouth --- could that have something to do with it?

First time we were there, there was this thought - this looks like a posh and pretentious place. How wrong ! It actually is chilled out and rustic at the same time. Sandwiches are fantastic. These are also served with a nice side salad. Bread is also worth the extra money. However what will blow your mind, are the cakes. That stuff is just insane. Even if you are not a fan of a specific type, you will change your mind ;-) It is difficult to choose, but cheesecake is our top favourite, right after prince's millionaire. First bite will immediately show you, how extremely well balanced any cake is. Simple perfection. I wish i could learn to bake at home like that, as something was always missing. So if you really enjoy quality, this place is worth extra journey. 100% recommended.

Met my daughter for coffee and cake as reviews goodOn bringing coffee and cake to our table in the garden, we asked for a spoon and could we have some sugar. The girl pointed to a dresser, my daughter explained that there were no teaspoons, the girl just shrugged her shoulders and gave her a dessert spoon, we then asked if there was any sugar as again none on the dresser, she just pointed to one of the tables and said they had the sugar. We were both rather amused at the time, but on walking back through the cafe, the kitchen staff were just standing looking very bored, There was no smiles or Thank you, and I said goodbye and Thank you with a smile I might add. We might have landed on an off day but there are plenty of nice cafes and eateries in Wimborne now, and I do wish that staff were trained properly as it is a lovely setting and the menu looked very good. Quite unusual sandwich fillings.I will give it another go, and keep my fingers crossed that the staff feel obliged to assist the customers, it was very quiet that day so there was no excuse.

What a lovely place and perhaps I shouldn’t be reviewing this patisserie because it’ll become famous and expensive and become one of those places that you visit on special occasions only (horrified face)! But what a gem off the touristy track. Slightly quirky with vintage and rustic decor, it’s an ode to the book with little sayings all over the place (including the WC! )But ... ‘the piece de resistance’ is it’s food, serving breakfast and light lunches that cater to a palate that likes something different. One may think it sounds awful but try their avocado and peanut butter on sourdough toast and then scoff! Who knew they went so well together? This morning we had their muesli and yoghurt with freshly made coulis and bacon-avocado on toast ...The prices are right which means there’s just enough for a takeaway of ???? You’ve guessed it - a mighty fine pastry ...I’ve come here countless times and it’s never ceased to delight me. Service is good with a bit of humour and that’s the cherry on the cake...

We enjoyed amazing coffee and freshly sandwiches made with bread baked on site. I drank two cups of perfectly made lattes and could easily have guzzled down two more as the coffee was so smooth and delicious with a perfect creamy foam on top. The Petite Prince toastie was a huge doorstop filled with bacon, chorizo, salady bits and guacamole. It was absolutely amazing and all served on a wooden platter with homemade coleslaw and a side salad which I enjoyed immensely. The only struggle I faced was how to eat the toastie without losing any of the filling as the warm crunchy toasted bread was so densely filled. Definitely value for money here for breakfast, brunch or lunch. If you have room for something sweet, which sadly I did not as I was so stuffed, there is a vast array of macarons and beautiful cakes to tempt you. I wish I'd purchased some bread and cakes to takeaway to enjoy at home once my brunch had subsided. I will definitely be back as I really enjoyed the food, great friendly service and surroundings.

Couldn't believe our luck, 30 minute parking space just outside this patisserie / coffee house. En route to Exeter, so very welcome.Very crowded which might have explained the slow service. Stripped pine tables are probably very 'in' / French, but it would be a really smart idea to keep them clean or fill in the troughs where food particles and general dirt accumulates. The coffee was great, a real treat. Loved the toasted bread / peanut butter / bacon. Personally would prefer back rather than streaky and well done.A great range of bread and pastries to take away. The loos are an experience! Out of the cafe and past the kitchens. No external handle. Once in the seat want to close on you. As soon as you get up it crashes down which makes you jump! My partner & I used to go there one or twice a week as a treat for sandwiches & coffee. Always spending about £20, which is a lot for a sandwich lunch! The food was good with unusual sandwich fillings so we didn't mind paying. However, the staff are very abrupt and it was due to their attitude that we no longer go there. The sandwich I always chose came with a heavy seeded brown bread which I find hard to bite into. I asked if I could have my sandwich on a softer white bread (which was on the menu for other sandwich fillings) As they sell the bread in their in-house bakery and it was listed in the menu for other sandwiches I didn't see a problem in my request. However, the waitress said she would have to "ask Chef if he could do this alteration". He's only making a sandwich...hardly a chef! I was told I could have the "alteration" but it would be an extra 20p! I found this extremely petty, especially as I wanted the cheaper white bread. We paid the extra 20p but have not been back since. We used to spend about £30 - £40 per week in there but they lost our business due to wanting an extra 20p

Wandering around Westbourne we were taken with how inviting this little eatery seemed - stuffed full of Sunday diners with tantalizing meals they were tucking in to. Squeezed ourselves onto a small table just in front of the kitchen area so could watch the chef prepare the lovely ciabatta sandwiches we ordered - butternut squash with Brie and spinach, and bacon with avocado - well presented with a delicious slaw in a sweet and tangy dressing. A cosy place to have a really delicious lunch - and when we told the young chef how much we had enjoyed it he seemed genuinely pleased. Would happily return.

Have reviewed this bakery before but felt moved to submit another one today. Often stop here for some breakfast goodies and today grabbed some almond croissants to go with a coffee consumed on the beach on a sunny late September Sunday morning. They were superb - absolutely delicious and couldn't have been nicer if made in a top Parisian bakery. All the bakery products here are excellent. The cafe itself is small and very busy so we usually avoid it, but the products are hard to beat. A wonderful, local gem.

This is definitely best place in the area to get your bread! A great selection of super tasty loaves are available....the coffee and cakes are pretty good too! In addition to this, the service is always friendly and staff are very knowledgeable about the food.

We would highly recommend nipping in to this beautiful hidden little gem. We stopped by for coffee and cake. Jenny served us who recommended the macaroons which were by far the best I have ever tasted, she was so friendly and helpful. We came with our nearly 2 year old daughter who was spoilt for choice. The lunch menu looked unreal and everything was so fresh. We took away some sour dough bread and cheddar and pistachio cookies. Utter Delightful ... well done team xx

We visited here last year en route to Lulworth Cove and although we thoroughly enjoyed our pit stop we did not post a review.Today we returned almost a year to the day and stopped by because of our previous experience. The coffees and patisserie were exceptional and the recommended beetroot and black pepper sourdough takeaway bread was amazing. Great customer service and a firm favourite. Would highly recommend!!

My daughter had recommended this café for lunch,so we decided to go along my granddaughter. The coffee was very good, we had excellent flat whites. We chose a cheese board as a light starter. This was presented very nicely and the organic brie was tasty. The chutney was disappointing as it was slices of pickled red onion with no sauce. The cakes however, were superb. So tasty.

It was busy as always when we called in at lunchtime. The manager was occupying one table doing admin and another lady on her own was on her laptop taking up a table for 4 and had long since finished eating or drinking anything. When we asked if we could have the table being used by the manager she said no. So we waited and eventually a table came free. The manager did not sit back at her table again the whole time we were there!! and the lady on her laptop sat there for the entire time typing furiously away on her laptop and enjoying the free wifi, but eating/drinking nothing - the staff did not clear her crockery away or ask if she would like anything else. It is obvious that the manager is only the manager and not the owner of the business otherwise she would have wanted those two tables to be earning money. Food wise, soup was nice but the quiche was bland and tasteless and only rescued by the side salad and dressing!! It was service without a smile (apart from the young guy who was super helpful and friendly) and we won't rush back.

Called into here for breakfast this morning. Really tasty food with tea made the traditional way (leaf rather than bag) Staff really friendly in genuine way and not gushing "have a nice day" type manner. Only second time here after discovering a couple of weeks ago but will be back soon.

The only problem with this place is that it so popular and so small. Great for coffee or tea and a fabulous selection of cakes. We had something from the lunch menu, A business mans sandwich, which included broccoli, which sounds very odd but was great. I had the cheese of the week with bread and red onion marmalade, lovely. Then the cakes called , it's only fair. They also sell bread made on the premises, well worth a visit, so hard to stand out in Westbourne, but they do.

We come here often before going to the beach and it’s excellent every time. Lovely vegan options. Coffee is perfect. Outside has a chalk board to keep kids entertained. Perfect stop for breakfast first thing in the morning.

Staff were ridiculously rude all bar the glass collector. Genuinely wouldn’t piss on it if it was on fire. Never had to write a review before but the staff were discussing.

Went in for dinner on a Friday night. Unfortunately my meal was barely edible but even though I hadn’t eaten all day I still only managed half of it. My partners slow cooked beef was good but my steak pie was overcooked to the point that the moisture had been sucked out of the meat and pastry resulting in tough, stringy beef and a dry, hard crust. The potatoes and gravy were tasty but the accompanying swede, carrots and broccoli were woefully overcooked and literally disintegrated to the point I had to scoop them onto the fork. Highly disappointing meal.

We played here every day of our family holiday, and had a lot of fun. The cafe serves good snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.

Wish I'd read these reviews before going with my son for a long overdue catch up. Shocking service. Absolutely shocking. Lovely smiling waitresses giving the impression nothing was too much trouble. It clearly was far too much trouble. It's as if immediately you request something the delete button activates in the waiting staff. We ordered the following: tap water, egg mayonnaise sandwich, chicken sandwich and fries. Shouldn't be beyond most cafes to get sorted. After 20 mins no water which meant I had to go up ask for it again - not withstanding it as it was a very very warm day (despite being October!) and we were outside. After 30 minutes no lunch, asked where it was. Finally rocked up - and to my horror they toasted my bread for my egg mayo sandwich. Why? I wasn't asked if I wanted it toasted. OH - and no choice of brown or white bread. Chips were nice. Sandwich OK. My son liked his sandwich. Only one loo which wasn't particularly pleasant. Really don't bother. There are plenty of other options nearby. Wish we'd gone with the Caribbean option we looked at first.
