Procured a few divine looking cakes with crazy brother, and saw the last remaining quiche… O WOW! Quiche? It’s quiche ? Probably, no certainly the best quiche I’ve ever consumed. The balance, the texture, the flavour… quite amazing. Thank you

Will likely visit again if passing and in the area. Welcoming little place. Cute take away boxes. Pats looked all so tempting on display. Prices reasonable. Chatty owner. We then only chose a couple and he made a snap comment (-1*) which we all found amusing that he read and obvs misread. Unfortunately our tart split during the journey so didn’t get an appealing photo at home. Tasted nice and tart still, so maybe just a one off. Idk.

Le Patissier Anglais strawberry & raspberry fruit tarts were a gift from the owner of Rustique Country, just around the corner. Packaged beautifully in a gorgeous box, these pastries looked far too pretty to eat...but eat them we did and they were EXQUISITE--the best we've ever had! If you haven't been, this patisserie MUST be top of your list when visiting Stow.

We have waited a good year to visit this place Having visited the local area several times we always end up missing out...Not today!! We walked in late afternoon and the owner was present, the main man himself, really happy to have met him What a true credit he is to the profession and I am so very happy he continues to show of his true passion and skill. The patisseries which he produces daily are simply divine...The passion and flair for his subject is second to none and this certainly shows in the quality of goods he bakes each and everyday Not many people like him with love and passion and I think he is a true gem and credit. We are grateful to experience the tastes and to have met such a wonderful person We always believe food will taste amazing from the way it looks and this is certainly true from what we have experienced today What a friendly man, we spoke at length about moving into the area, the prettiest village of Naunton, taking the plunge and his years of training in France and we are so lucky to have received excellent customer service.I want everyone reading this post to take the plunge and visit this shop and buy buy buy as you will not be disappointed with the amazing creations and flavours. We will definitely visit again. Honestly not many chefs display the enthusiasm or care as this man... Thank you so much for making our vacation a gastronomical experience (not to mention the fact we have just devoured 5 cakes between two of us...ooopsieee!!) We need to try the focaccia....the baked custard, the Black Forest thingy, the rhubarb and custard tart.... and more....we will be back later this week.....see you :-)

What a great local business! During a mini break we wandered past the shop and doubled back to look inside. So many delicious looking things with really knowledgeable staff who are clearly really passionate about what they do. We stumbled across Le Patissier Anglais online when we ordered a cake for our daughter’s birthday before our arrival in Stow. The owner Carl not only made an amazing cake, but he delivered it to our hotel before our late arrival. When we went to thank him the next day, we learned that delicious pastries were just part of the charms of his shop. The pastry shop consists of a single room, where he makes the pastries in full view. This is a real bakery — the pastries are all made onsite, by the owner, using ingredients delivered to the shop from local suppliers — and we tried treats right out of the oven. Carl was incredibly friendly, funny and helpful with suggestions for our visit. He seemingly knows every one in the area, and every suggestion he made for our visit was a winner. We ended up stopping by every morning before our daily adventures to say hello and try another treat. Thanks Carl for being a highlight of our trip!

Having been told how I should drink my coffee and having pots banged about I sat feeling very uncomfortable and unable to drink the coffee that had been made for me. If you don’t want people to sit in for a coffee don’t offer it. Don’t worry I won’t be returning, much as the cakes looked delicious I couldn’t have eaten one if I’d tried. Good manners cost nothing, but the bitter taste of poor service will last a very long time.

Passing through Stow and called in for a coffee, expecting the all too familiar CostaPreta froth to go with the obligatory granola or muffin. Not a bit of it! The coffee was sublime, the focaccia was simply superb and the patisseries on offer ( all of them created by the lyrical owner) were light yet filling, sweet but not sugary. Here is a place where the English owner is the patissier. The cakes are simply the best , and we came to stow again today with a view to making a pilgrimage to this venue. About ten or so kinds of cake are made and they are works of art, almost too pretty to devour...but we did! At about £3.25 a cake they are a bargain! Today there were little passion fruit mousse cakes, little lemon meringues with thin crispy bases, sharp lemon and a torched but soft and pure meringue. Heavenly. My husband ate a pear and almond tartlet and there were also ones with rhubarb, as well as a bombe made of blaccurrants and blackberry. All looked divine.Fresh quiche is made daily along with brioches, and when they are gone, that is it.! Come early or phone ahead to reserve something. The patissier also does canapés and dinner parties to order....if I lived here I would use this service.

My daughter and I had a wonderful day in the cotswolds. Tea in Broadway and the picturesque scenery of the village of Little Slaughter and the cotswolds in general is something to behold.

This is certainly my favourite place to visit in Stow-on-the-Wold. Chefs' creations are exquisite, each pastry hand-made that morning in his small and unpretentious shop. He is obviously incredibly well trained and a true artisan who is always very welcoming and loves to discuss his skilled work with his customers. It's very clearly a cake shop of the highest order and there are plenty of oily cafe's in Stow that would oblige the last reviewer. I'd like to thank Chef for bringing a little piece of Paris to the Cotswolds.

We called in for coffee and sampled two different pastries which were superb. We also took two more home plus a couple of savoury quiches which were also excellent. It has only been open for a couple of months but certainly offers the best and tastiest pastries and cakes we have had in Stow. Really excellent!

Earlier reviews have been spot on! We were only looking for a cup of coffee but how lucky that we keep walking around and chanced across Le Patissier Anglais. The low key décor is irrelevant. The quality of the pastries is so high that nothing else is important. The friendliest and chattiness of the proprietor and the obvious love he puts into his craft make the experience even more memorable. Nothing beats top class training and expertise which shines through.

We stumbled on Le Patissier Anglais whilst staying in Stow, and it immediately became a regular coffee stop!

Most unexpected to find such an excellent patisserie in a Cotswold Market Town. The cakes and pastries are all excellent, well presented and delicious. I have only bought pastries and quiches to eat at home, but it is possible to sit down with a cup of coffee and eat in situ. Bespoke cakes can be ordered for special occasions and for celebrations. I have ordered several cakes to date and my guests and I have been delighted with the results. Always a cheery welcome from the proprietor and it is a delight to shop at 'Le Patissier Anglais'.

My family and I agreed that the pistachio mousse we tasted today was exquisite. This is world class patisserie. We wish you every success and hope that your products reach as wide an audience as possible. Not seen anything as good as this anywhere else in the Cotswolds.

Ate here tonight Staying at Dormy house for a couple of nights Honestly we didn’t think the back garden restaurant at the hotel last night was that amazing so I was a bit nervous about Mo tonight Have to say I needn’t have worried We had a lovely evening Great intimate setting - only 8 of us (max 12) Nice company (2 American couples and 2 British couples so some good chat) Food was very good Some really craftsmanship and interesting dishes Wine pairing was delicious (quite small pours though!)

Just had a couple of nights at Dormy house hotel (at which the back garden is one of the 2 restaurants) We ate at the back garden on the first night Let me preface this by saying the hotel and the chefs table restaurant (Mo, which we dined at on the second night) are top notch - I’ve reviewed them separately also If I’m being honest though, the Back Garden was a bit of a let down Setting - lovely Service - great Wine and cocktails - fab I think we just made a few bad choices in terms of dishes (which are always subjective at the end of the day) Emma had the gazpacho - we love a gazpacho, this one just felt a bit thin and lacking seasoning. It was almost trying to be a bit too delicate I’d say the same about my starter, I had the hot smoked salmon salad - it just didn’t taste of much, needed more dressing. Just something to bring it to life? Emma’s main - the curried Kiev was top notch I had the roast cod in a mussel veloute sauce. Nice, but only 3 mussels? Emma didn’t have a dessert, I was intrigued by the sheep’s cheese, honey comb and Eccles cake dessert (the most expensive at £14) It just didn’t work for me - two small blobs of cheese, a small square of honeycomb and a small (beautifully baked) Eccles cake - it just didn’t hang together, I’m not sure what it was meant to deliver? We had a pleasant evening (thanks everyone) but compared to the rest of the stay we felt it missed the mark
