LBK Burger Bar in West Dorset

Gem of a place, best steak ever, thought it might just have been mine but the whole family said it was the best they ever had.

LBK sell excellent burgers. We ate in and the lady who was waiting-on was really friendly and turned the background music off for me. She was helpful about portion sizes and didn't encourage us to order more than we were likely to eat - the burgers are a really decent size. Service was very quick and the food a very reasonable price.

As regular visitors to Lyme Regis throughout the season we look forward to enjoying a fish and chip supper on the beach. We thought we would try a new chippy for a change and so made our first visit to LBK. It will definitely be our last! It was more expensive and the fish and chips were nowhere near as good quality as those we have enjoyed from other vendors in the town. Even the usually hostile Lyme seagulls left us alone to eat our meal in peace! Very disappointing overall.

I don't think I've ever really felt the need to write a review. Having visited this place several times over the years it was long overdue to write one and break my TripAdvisor virgnity. The burgers these guys do are phenomenal. They produce food that is so moorish that the entirety of the group will not speak because they are enjoying it that much. I had the Au Poivre. Simply gorgeous. Please stay open for years to come and I will be there! Thank you.

My wife & I are locals & have tried most of the eating lpaces in & around Lyme regis. LBK is without doubt, the best for quality roast lunches with the added bonus of being the lowest price! Also superb gourmet burgers! A very well done to Andy & Rob. Keep it up guys!

We thought as it was are last night in Lyme we would go back to one of the first places we tried many years ago. The food was just as good as it was. I had a very nice beef burger and the wife had a chicken burger. The food is cooked to order and the skinny fries are yummy. LBK is worth finding as it's a family run eatery . Next time we are in Lyme Regis we will be back.

Lovely little find for a delicious Sunday roast. The lady who served us was lovely & friendly and was really sweet with our dog. We had a little bowl out ready to give him some dinner too but she brought out a little dish with all the meats in it for him 😊 I had the lamb & hubby had the brisket both were spot on. Would highly recommend.... We will be popping back in before our holiday is over.

We had 2 nights in Lyme Regis as a family with two young children who are fussy eaters. From the outside it was hard to tell if the restaurant was still trading / open. We checked trip advisor and read the reviews and took a chance. What hits you the moment you walk through the door is the smell of grease and fried food, which nearly out me off. However we persevered and pleased we did. Whilst this is a no frills place the burgers were fresh and tasty and chips cooked nicely. My only complaint was the chicken nuggets were over fried for my little one. The lady who served us was very friendly, service efficient. Don’t be put off by the outside this restaurant provides tasty burgers and good value for money. They also offer a take away service.

Lovely non- stodgy fish and chips. Lightest batter on the fish and best chips Ive had in years 😊Huge portion of mushy peas! Time for a pint and cosy chat while food being cooked. Thank you

We decided to get a few takeaway burgers when staying in Lyme. What a find! We ordered the cheese burger, garlic shroom burger and the chilli burger. It was all freshly prepared and delicious. I would highly recommend and happily return.

Wonderful little restaurant with delicious burgers and really friendly staff. They have a great selection of interesting burgers with different toppings, and you can choose beef chicken or veggie with them. Lucked out finding this place on our first night in Lyme Regis. Definitely recommended

Really friendly lady and foods was so good home cooked pub Sunday roast , but you need to book which was a good thing being that the service and timings were really well managed we then went back again for the burgers and steak really good quality at a reasonable price , very much enjoyed

Felt like a lot of money for the food received. Unfortunately chips were undercooked and underwhelming. We paid for two sauces and received one. I cannot speak for the burger, they seem to be well known for them, maybe should have had one of them.

Mum and I visited for Sunday Roast Beef, it was fantastic. This is the closest I have come to having a proper home cooked meal out! Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and owner to chat to, amazing food cooked to perfection. I would recommend everyone to come to LBK. We will be back!

We popped in for a takeaway burger, after a long day on the beach. The service was great as it was friendly and quick. The burgers though, wow!! The meat pattys are delicious and the burgers are huge. Can’t wait for our next trip to Lyme to visit!

Have visited Lyme Regis and Charmouth many times, found LBK about 5 years ago and never been tempted to go any where else as ever time Sunday Lunch and service is excellent ❤️

The burgers are great, tasted good and nothing missing. But it is a very basic eatery and you have to get over the overwhelming smell of greasy cooked fat. Friendly pair run it and good value for money if you are looking for a quick meal.

Stopped here as a last minute decision as we couldn’t find anywhere else nearby open. We were warmly greeted by the gentleman on the take away bar on arrival. First impressions on entering the restaurant area was that it was all a little chaotic- the layout is unusual, tables had been left part way through being cleaned, and there was generally a slightly chaotic feel that left us wondering if we’d made a mistake. However, the food was served promptly, and my veggie burger was really good - all too often you get palmed off with some frozen perfectly-formed mass-manufactured veggie burger but this was tasty, craggy in a homemade kind of way and had a lovely fresh tomato chutney. So all in all we were pleasantly surprised!

Food was OK, I have had better burgers but the staff were friendly. However, the place needed a clean.

Oddly set up restaurant/take away. The food was ok but the place could do with a really good clean! The condiments were clogged and dirty and a trip to the toilet revealed a filthy, smelly single toilet with no soap.

Today we ordered a chilli chicken burger and a blue cheese beef burger tonight and I can truly say they were the best burgers we have had in a long time. I would highly recommend them and will definitely visit again.

In Lyme Regis for a weekend break and delighted to find LBK open for takeaways. We cancelled our dinner plans and had takeaway instead. So glad we did - burgers still amazing. Quality ingredients cooked to order. Great place!

Yummy Sunday Lunch Found this place on Trip Advisor this morning as we are staying in Lyme and wanted a Roast, it did not disappoint. We had the Beef, Lamb & Chicken, it was really tasty and good portions - £12 each, they did smaller...

A good little takeaway very close to the beach (but be careful for the gulls which may attempt to take your food if you choose to sit on the beach). As a takeaway its 3 or 4 stars but I've given it 5/5 as the burgers are up there with the best I've had. Proper, homemade burgers and good chips.

Sunday lunch at LBK was simply urge best Roast Beef Dinner I have ever had , beef done to perfection and Roast Potatoes to die for - highly recommended

Went to collect my order, we ordered via the phone. Got there and i checked my burger and it wasn't what i ordered. Went inside and polietly said not sure if this is the correct burger. The old woman in there snapped at me saying thats the burger i ordered. Clearly this wasn't the case and she was being arrogant and wouldn't even listen to what i had to say. She offered to make me the burger i wanted but wouldn't exchange it and that i had to buy both. I should of demaned a refund but in the end i chucked out the fillings i didn't like that the WRONG burger had and it was average at best. Never complain about any food but this was a awful experience. Wouldn't visit here again until the old woman serving has learnt some manners. In future admit when you make mistakes :)

We had 5 takeaway lunches and brought them back to our self catering house. They were fantastic, great quality and excellent value. Thoroughly recommended. Fish and chips are good too.

We had the Classic Vegetarian Burgers with cheese which were delicious. So many layers of flavour. Great value and thoroughly recommended!

Although somewhat unpretentious, we were minded to dine, having read positive reviews on TripAdvisor and were certainly not disappointed. A family run establishment with excellent meals and a competent wine list. We were very impressed with the family service and outstanding meals at very good value prices. Would certainly recommend; look beyond the first impression.

We visited early on a Thursday evening with our fluffy dog. We were greeted very warmly and us and the dog were made to feel really welcome. The food and drinks are reasonably priced and delicious. We ordered two burgers and some sides, everything was very fresh and tasty. I later learned from the lovely hostess everything was made on the premises. We had a very good time and left feeling satisfied - the portions are very generous. Will remember to visit again!

Crispy roast potatoes, roast beef (pink or well done option) alternatively a choice of roast pork or lamb and a tasty selection of vegetables, all for only £11, or £10 take away. LBK, our favourite eat out restaurant.

Found this restaurant down a little side street by chance. We wanted fish and chips and were really wowed by the delicious crispy batter. The chips were amazingly crispy too - just right! Really pleased we came and would recommend.

Truly the best burgers I have ever had. There are some good places to go in Lyme... but this place. Yum. Whenever I make a burger I think of LBK. Go.

Called in after reading the reviews, glad we did. Friendly staff especially the owners mum. Freshly cooked too order as we had too wait a bit. You can choose from the beef version, chicken version and the vegetarian version of each dish which was nice too see. We ordered from each list and was lovely, little one had from the children's list which was fine for her age, older child would find the portion too small.

We booked LBK having looked at previous reviews and we were not disappointed. Our order covered the whole menu - one child's meal, one veggie burger, one chicken burger and one beef burger. Service was fast and friendly and we were given a pack of cards while we waited for our food. All meals were fantastic and all plates cleared, which is always a good sign. The atmosphere and surroundings were pleasant and we will certainly be recommending LBK to our friends who are holidaying here next week

Let’s start with the good stuff, the lady who meets and greets you, so friendly and warm and she worked so hard - she was lovely!! The bad, the young waitress who ignored us several times, had a very loud conversation with the chef and then when delivering the food dumped chips on the table and all over my leg. Whoops she said and walked off, no apology or attempt to clean up. The food was ok but to be honest was average - hate giving a bad review but lose the waitress and review the menu, the lady host was the star!

So nice to be able to get a good takeaway roast dinner to take down to the beach hut to enjoy! We both had rare beef and it was beautiful. Intend to do this again, ALOT!

I really expected the food to be good considering the reviews for their burgers. Unfortunately I ordered fish and chips and also sausages and chips and was charged £26. Due to a long drive and tiredness I didn’t think about the price and went back to my holiday let to eat with my family. What a disappointment the fish was obviously frozen and despite being told it was fresh [fresh from Iceland supermarket] the chips were ok but the sausages were also fried (yuk). We threw most of it away then I realised I had been overcharged. I went back to LBK the guy who served me wasn’t there but another staff member. I said I had just brought food and how much was the price. He said I should look on the board outside instead of just telling me the price which I was surprised by. He didn’t understand why I had been overcharged and the asked another staff member who looked exhausted who also didn’t know. I told them the food was terrible and then the attitude changed as if to say I was requesting a refund. I felt extremely uncomfortable and it felt as if I was wrong rather than LBK just accepting the poor food and apologising to me. I was told I was the 1st person to complain and the whole atmosphere turned against me. I feel shocked at such a poor attitude from staff who are supposed to offer a decent service. They did not seem to care about my experience. I said I would not be able to leave good feedback which is such a shame and then just walked out without getting any money owed to me. Perhaps they can use that money to buy a book on customer service.

We booked for dinner and were not disappointed. The food was amazing! I had the Garlic ‘Shroom beef burger, my wife had the Chicken BLT burger and my daughter had the kids Texas BBQ and all were outstanding. It was easily one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten. My wife doesn’t really do beef burgers but a bite of mine and she wished she’d chosen the same. Add in great local beers and ciders, and lovely desserts and you have the makings of a superb meal. We will definitely be back!

Booked this place based on the reviews. I’m sceptical of a burger and have NEVER ordered one out but my other half was keen.

Came here last week. The burgers were delicious and special mention must go to the lady serving who was just lovely and very efficient.

We only found this place by chance as it is in one of the back streets. They have a board outside that said triple cooked chips and that's what clinched it.

Great food...generous burger toppings and really friendly service in a lovely 15th century setting. As soon as we were shown our table the kids were given a card game to play, but the food arrived popping hot before we could finish a game!

You need to know where this place is or you'll miss it or, on the other hand, if lucky you may stumble upon it! We popped in as it opened and had burgers that were probably some of the finest I've ever eaten. They do a range of local bottled ales as well as wine and some seemingly great value jugs of Pimms & Vodka - perhaps another time for that!

really good burgers and veggie options from LBK. kids loved them and large portions. we had the take away but we hear the eat in option is just as good.

Do not be put off by first impressions. It looks as if you have wandered into someone's house and not a restaurant and the menu is perhaps a bit limited by today's standard but what they do offer is beautifully cooked. You will often find a lot of the locals in there as well as visitors to the town and that says a lot.

I will admit, at first I was a bit dubious of this restaurant, but wow, what a burger. Eaten burgers all across the country and this is probably the best i’ve Ever had. Forget the rubbish fish and chips on the sea front and come here!

The restaurant has a seperate side access where you can order takeaway orders. Somehow I did not realise it was a burger bar and was actually looking for fish and chips but open seeing other people's and the extensive menu of beef, chicken and vegetarian options I could not resist. Especially at just over £5 for a cheeseburger and a sizable portion of chips. Would recommend to anyone wanting a quick burger and fries.

Just had the most fabulous takeaway Christmas dinner. Delicious and so much of it! Came with all the trimmings and desert and fab service! Thanks to the team for making our day so easy!

Booked our visit in after seeing the range of burgers on offer and was not let down. The zeus burger was amazing, succulent chicken and the halloumi was V nice. Will definitely visit again when down here next. First ever review on here and wanted to as the lady was so polite and friendly, giving us advice about what we could do with our dog along with how perfect our food was too!

Extremely surprised by the consistently good reviews of this place. Our experience did not reflect these. Overly stressed waitress, who was blunt, verging on rude to customers. We ordered four burgers, all came raw in the middle, when we said we were unhappy we were told that’s how they are and if we did not like it we should pay for our drinks and leave! So we did did. Other customers were also served undercooked food during our time in the restaurant. We may have been unlucky, but would recommend checking your food throughly before eating.

One of Lyme's little secrets. If you are expecting a fashionable burger joint that looks like it is trying to be be like an american diner then you will be disappointed. What you Will get is a friendly family place with really great food. Lots to choose from other than burgers, but we knew what we were there for. A large choice of burgers and sides. Great mushroom starter in a creamy garlic sauce with bread. Really friendly place. We will definitely be back.

We had dinner here and the service was exceptional. The food was lovely and the coconut ice cream was the icing on the cake - pun intended.

Discovered LBK today after being recommended to us by locals. Can’t fault this place. The service team there are so lovely, exceptionally accomodating, genuinely kind and helpful. We all had the roast beef, which was delicious, the roast potatoes were yummy and there was a good selection of veg. The gravy was wonderful too. So rare to find a place that does a really good, home cooked tasting Sunday lunch, but LBK did it!

We Visited here Yesterday (Friday 17th August), this burger bar is only open 3 days a week (friday Saturday and sunday) so make sure you book if you want to eat in.

We visited here as a last minute fix, and were very impressed. The older woman who I think owns the place is absolutely lovely and the burgers were delicious. Fries really good aswell, both skinny and hand cut. 5/5 would definitely recommend!

The burgers are very good here. We went for classics but there were many other options. Patty and bun were excellent. We disagreed on quality of fries- go for the hand cut option in my opinion. Burger a meal in itself without this. People in there friendly- we had takeout given weather though. Expect to pay £6+ per burger.

Weren’t ready for lunch until around 3pm and this was the only place serving Sunday roasts after 2.30pm. Choice of 3 meats all served with their own gravy, vegetables cooked well and the whole family really enjoyed their meals. Friendly service with tasty food - highly recommended

I asked a local person where we could get a good Sunday roast she said straightaway lbk is the best and I must agree.we had the beef Sunday roast and it was lovely .generous portions and a nice atmosphere.what more could you want on a very wet Sunday afternoon. We will be back to try the burgers which have been highly recommended. Give it a try

On our previous visit the burgers were in super brioche buns, what happened? They are now in small bread rolls which are not big enough for the burger what a shame, £30, for 3 burgers and fries, we used to have these often,no more

We stumbled across LBK last September (2017) on our way home from a Cornish holiday. The food and service is brilliant.

Once again on our annual trip to Lyme this place was top of our list.... and it was even better than i remember (from last year...) I had a the double texas - it was ace! had the hand made chips on the side, they were ace!

My partner and I and our little dog Doris were warmly welcomed! All of the staff were so lovely and made us feel at home, we ordered a roast dinner which was home cooked and delicious. Doris was even given a bowl of meat to enjoy too. I highly recommend this little gem and we certainly will be back on our next holiday.
