Laziz Shawarma Restaurant in Cardiff

This might really be the best shawarma in the UK. I've eaten up and down the country and eaten shawarma in the middle east, this could compete with the same shawarma you can get in Lebanon or Turkey.

Wow. This has got to be one of the greatest food spots on City Road. A true hidden gem. I ordered the lamb shawarma, and it was breathtaking. The lamb was so succulent and full of flavor, the salads were fresh, and it all mixed with the sauce, giving my mouth a feeling it won't forget. A true testament to the shawarma. An outstanding deal for only 4.50. I will most certainly be going again. 10/10

Greatest Shawarma I have ever had in my life. The mixed Shawarma offered great value at £5.00 was mouthwateringly delicious, most definitely worth a detour if you are ever near Laziz. From the meat to the sauce and the vegetables, this wrap is amongst the greatest foods I have ever been blessed to taste in my life. I strongly recommend a visit to Laziz, it will definitely not disappoint. I give Laziz a strong 5 stars for its combination of kind staff, amazing food, cosy atmosphere and food that is out of this world.

El mejor Shawarma que he tenido en Cardiff - sin duda irá de nuevo. Sabrosa carne jugosa con un gran tamaño de porción, ensaladas frescas, deliciosas salsas y un increíble personal amable. Recomiendo encarecidamente una visita a Laziz, es una joya escondida de City Road!

Compré un shawarma para llevar para que 5 personas se enteren a mi regreso a casa uno de los panes está muy quemado y no puede comerlo, deberías comprobar lo que estás recibiendo antes de que te lo ponga en una bolsa de plástico

fantastic shawarma, my top recommendation for a satisfying (and inexpensive) meal in Cardiff. many affordable and delicious options for any diet. excellent service, the staff are friendly and there is a spacious seating area so you can take your family. there is a good array of salad and sauce and the bread is cooked in store in a traditional oven. there is a single step up into the store and a bit of a narrow walkway to the seating area so this may pose some difficulty to disabled customers.

These are one of the best shawarmas you can get in Cardiff. To add on to that, the staff here are honest, clean and trust worthy. Highly recommend this place.

The cheapest shawarma shop on City Road. Its extremely economical for students. You can get a chicken sharwma for 4 pounds and Lamb shawarma for 4.5 pounds. It's filling for one person and tastes how a normal shawarma should. Not a fancy shop and I prefer it like that.

Hygiene doesn't exist with these guys. Food was maybe just about edible for my dog. Chicken smelt off. Nobody speaks English. Can't take simple orders. Attitude from these guys stinks. Personally, I would avoid this place. Visit from the health inspector is needed. What I witnessed was outright disgusting. 0 stars from me.

They are fraud! Paid £20 for £12 bill, received this taped wasted note in return, obviously trusted & didnt check as small changes were given, but it was clearly intentional! Couldn't reach them over phone & already gone far when checked !

Closed down by Cardiff trading standards recently for evidence of cockroach infestation. The fact it got to this stage is testament to the negligence and bad hygiene practice. Cockroach shawarma - no thanks.

My very first of many shwarma and my last shwarma till today was from a small stall owned by a Lebanese, close to the Hotel Salam in Yanbu Saudi Arabia eons ago. What I and my wife enjoyed today brought back fond memories of that little stall. Very, very tasty and the fresh wrap really soft and the meat portion was very generous and well cooked, staff very pleasant, will be going back for another, thanks.

It states right here in Google Maps that Laziz is open daily from 10am. I arrived hungry at 10.45 on a Monday and it was closed. There is no excuse for this. Having said that, the Lamb shawarma sandwich I bought on a previous visit was fantastic! Update, 2 months later: It still states opening time of 10am here on Google Maps. This is unforgivable.

Lamb shawarma was hard and burnt, they had cut it and then just left it on the tray so it was dried out. The naan bread was nice but they didn't pack it properly so it went cold and chips were soaked in oil. Customer service and good used to be amazing but it's going downhill and staff getting lazy.

Social distancing and covid guidelines are not followed. People enter without facr masks for take aways. It was my first experience to order Lamb shawarma plate. The food was so bad that I had to throw it all away.

Very bad experience. No social distancing measure in place. Entertaining customers without mask. Blocks in the photos agitative for warning them and broke my phone taking their photos from the pavement. Informed police.

This place used serve really nice shawarma but the it has gone down hill recently! I tried it a few times in the last couple of months the meat was tasteless! Shame it was so nice before.

Chicken shawarma tasted decent and was a good price, but was served cold as it was already been cut into pieces before. The chips tasted flavourless, clearly frozen, and the salad was NOT fresh despite going there soon after they opened.

Good varieties of wrap and sandwiches. You will get both lamb and chicken shawarma wrap, which are very cost effective. We like the grill chicken here, which we call Shavai back home. But be sure to carry cash, as they don't take card.

Food taste pretty good. But the hygiene on the staff is awful, i witnessed them handling cash, shaking peoples hands, not washing their hands just wiping them in their clothes then handling bread and other food and utensils. I opted for food tgat wasnt served with bare hands, I hope they see this and sort out their hygiene issues.

Absolutely delicious! Portion sizes are very large (you will likely have leftovers) and the cost is low. Google Maps took us to the wrong place, but it was 100% worth finding it. It's closer to the Tesco Express than the actual pin Google shows. Worth the 20 minute walk from the city centre.

¡Vivo localmente para esto y literalmente todos los días está lleno de vida y huele divino! Recientemente me quedé atrapado bajo la lluvia y decidí comprar un kebab para mi té. El mejor kebab que he probado en mucho tiempo. El pollo estaba delicioso. El pan era tan suave y delicioso, ¡casi como un bao! Había una magnífica variedad de ensaladas, y zumaque espolvoreado encima. Mucho mejor que un simple kebab, y los chicos detrás del mostrador fueron muy amables y me contaron todo acerca de dónde obtienen el pan. Fue tan agradable que llevé a mi compañero a comer. ¡Comimos como reyes por menos de diez centavos!

Tried this on two occasions, ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and the whole rotisserie chicken served with salad and naan bread. It was juicy and flavourful and to top it off extremely cheap (The whole chicken meal cost only £6.50!) Two thumbs up for this gem of a find.

Absolutely gorgeous food! We both had lamb shawarma on a plate which came with salad and two different kinds of bread. I have to tell you that the samoon sandwich bread is heavenly! It has the texture of brand new pillow and it tastes like heaven! It's the perfect bread for sandwiches with salad and sauce. The lamb shawarma was the best I think I've ever had. The flatbread was really good too. You can see it baking in a tandoor as you walk through and it looks like a cartoon moon! We finished off with a cup of Kurdish tea. I recognised the special ingredient that made it so special; rosewater! It was so yummy I got my husband to make it for me when we got home! The restaurant seemed nice and clean, the staff were really friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The atmosphere was good. It's a little slice of Kurdistan served up in the middle of Cardiff! My husband hit the nail on the head when he told them as we were leaving not to change a thing because it was perfect!
