Layaly Zaman in Milton Keynes

I have been there twice. First, ordered the livers (they were amazing) with 2 milkshakes. The staff added £2 extra to the bill, claiming the prices were not updated. Problem sorted, once I raised the issue. 2nd time, after about 3 months, I have ordered the mixed shawarma wrap £6.5 + £2 if you want additional chips (I did) and a bottle of ayran, that was £2.5. The wrap came with almost no salad, just a bit of lettuce and some gerkins, and not only it really didn’t have any flavor, but it was extremely fat (it was lamb & chicken), the fat was dripping. Order total: £14 instead of £11. I didn’t bother arguing it, as I made the decision of never coming back when I tasted the wrap.

The restaurant is massive and clean but not suitable for families with kids as it has shisha lounge . The starters were awful and frozen nothing is fresh . We returned the kibba as it was still frozen from the inside they bought us an other plate with overcooked kibba but the inside was still cold and watery. We still payed for it even though the waiter did not ask if I would like an other plate or to offer it for free as an apology. And was not happy that we ask for it to be returned. The aarays had a bad smell and the meet inside then was old and all watery . The falafel were watery too and not well cooked . We ordered morrocan tea 🥲 ,manssaf and maklouba. ,The tea was 2 teabags and 2 leaves of mint not boiled ... so basically not Morrocan at all . The manssaf's rice had a smell but the meat was soft .and the bread was not toasted. The maklouba had 1 large breast that was hard to cut or eat and literally 2 potatoes and 1 skin of aubergine (i believe that was left over food) . The hot sauce was nice but the yoghurt sauce was old a d smelly . Would i recommend it to anyone NO Would I go back there (even for free ) NO The outside room is simple and needs some more decoration . The shisha lounge was filed with arabic sofa and more nice decoration They need more people to take orders as we were looking for the only waiter every time we need something also not take orders if they are about to close or have no food left .

Wr been this place for shisha ordered two shisha but wasn't good enough twice we told management but doesn't change it very poorly service 😢 My friend came so fare and wasn't happy enough Both shisha was leaked

Huge portion, delicious meal. I had the Chicken Taouk and Shawarma mixed plate. My favourite kebab place in Bletchley.

Says it open till 1am but when we arrived and the door was open, a waiter said they done for today.

Did not like the food one bit and the service was very slow we had to wait 50 min for a milkshake and then we had to cancel it.

Awful place to eat. I rarely ever leave bad reviews. This restaurants has another small site (a wood hut) that serves shwarmas in the centre of MK. Those shwarmas/service is good so i thought i’d check out their restaurant. What a huge regret it turned out to be. It’s a messy and chaotic place. It’s large, cold and uninviting. The lamb/rice was described as being served with carrots and raisins but it came plain and when i asked the waiter he just said sorry and shrugged his shoulders. The food completely lacked flavour. The aubergine starter looked like a plate of hummus. You should be ashamed of yourselves. The food is mediocre at best. The place is full of taxi drivers playing card games and smoking sheesha. Avoid

Wrong ordered was delivered. Ordered Kabsah Lamb and received a Lamb shank in a tomato sauce 😭 with separate rice. However, the lamb with sauce was extremely blend & tasteless. It was a total waste of money, especially I paid £4 just for delivery. Rice was okay though. But very disappointed.

The food was absolutely fantastic! I cannot emphasize enough how amazing the first impression was. It's been a long time since I've tasted such delicious food, and the atmosphere was just perfect. I will definitely return here, and I am confident that next time will be just as exceptional as the first visit.

Worst place I ever visited in Milton Keynes, we ordered kabsa, firstly it was not kabsa rather lamb curry with rice. On menu they mentioned rice will be made with raisins and carrots but it was tomato rice. Lamb was smelly, grilled chicken was ok. Also tables were not clean. When we posted about them on local social media group, they deleted our post by saying that you ate the food.

99% of these reviews are fake. Check on Facebook for real reviews and this place gives people food poisoning.

The food was stale and uncooked. The lamb was smelly. Service was sloppy and tables were dirty. I'm afraid my family will get sick as we are all having stomach aches since we ate at this restaurant.

Very disappointed, as I expected the food there to be more authentic. The lamb cubes were horrible, chewy, tasteless couldn’t eat it at all. Another dish, The lamb in some sauce (don’t remember the name of that dish) was cooked nicely and lamb coming off the bone as it should, but it was totally tasteless, like a lamb just in tomato sauce… Waste of lamb and money. The place itself not clean enough. If you want to have good food, please don’t go there.

The Chicken shawarma was not tasty at all and over fried. Sauce was also not tasty it was watery no taste.

The rice taste is very bad, something wring in its preparation, not edible, we left all the rice with the meals. Bad experience, will not try it again.

Shawarma and kibbeh looked awesome… but … they weren’t cooked through - cold lamb and chicken - sadly a take out before driving up north or would have come back and asked for a replacement.

The quality was fine but was so dry, no sauce. The delivery guy couldn't get to the right place despite explaining the address.

Only been once, as I live a distance away. Making a point of revisiting.

Went to this lovely venue for a fundraising dinner, was absolutely amazed with the quality of food, friendly service and wonderful atmosphere, not to mention the great value for money, the place was packed but somehow managed to provide all of the above, a BIG THANK YOU to the management and wonderful staff.will be back👏👏

Meat is low end, I would not bother.. There's way better options locally to choose from.

Good portion, decent flavour in the food but could be better. Large space once you've gone up the stairs but decor is a mix match, should have gone with middle Eastern theme. Overall a good evening out with friends but wouldn't go with family because of the atmosphere.

What a fantastic find! Had such a pleasant evening here. Service was outstanding but the food was even better. The mixed shawarma plate was one of the tastiest I've ever had. Moved to the shisha bit after and got some shisha and tea. The shisha flavours were delicious and such a reasonable price for a single shisha (£13!) Tea was well brewed. Really just a great overall experience, no negatives. Great size venue, perfect for families. Thanks to the restaurant and team! Can't wait to come back

We had Arayes and chicken shawarma plate and Mansef (Jordanian) and Kabsa (Saudia). They were all authentic, tasty and served fresh piping hot. Very courteous service, our hostess was very kind and helpful. We had karak and Moroccan mint tea afterwards. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ If I was local to the area I'd go back every week to try other dishes but yes, I'll hopefully go back in a few weeks. They also have a separate section for Sheesha and a large area with music and TV. It's just that the entrance area (until you get upstairs) could've been slightly better, and it was a little quiet for Saturday (but we did arrive at 10pm).

Delivery was bang on time and the food was hot. We had the lamb and chicken shwarmas and a mixed grill. The best dish by far was the lamb shwarma. The chicken shwarma looked good but didn't taste anything like any shwarma dish I have ever had before, and I've had a lot! The mixed grill was nice enough but I would say a little overpriced for the amount of food. Not enough meat and too many chips.

Honestly a proper hidden gem here. Food was great and so was the shisha. The service could be slightly better as when it's busy it's hard to get someone to come over, but that's just me being fussy!

Please take notice of the note left while delivering. I always ask to be called rather than ringing the bell, but it doesn't happen. Also, I always order the mix grill as it's the best dish I like, and although I don't really like eating meat, I like the mix grill. Weirdly, the meat was not good at all this time, the kofta didn't smell nice, it wasn't properly cooked, with red parts inside, and too dark on the outside. It wasn't appetizing at all. And please becareful of the salads like tahini, it was spilled in the bag.

Shawarma was bagin but the service was cold and we both got food poisoning.

I went for iftar buffet and it was disappointing. There was no special meals or even any non veg dishes and upon asking they said they make it only during busy times. If that’s the case I would suggest to cut the price down for people come during non busy time.

The delivery was very fast and the food was delicious as always. I didn't really like the laban with the mansaf though. I know the laban came in a separate box, but the meat was mixed with some laban too. I perefer it wasn't mixed at all, and I would add as neded. I think the rice needed some more flavors too. On a side note, I asked to be called when the driver arrives. I received the food, but please take notice of the delivery note added. Thanks for the nice food.

Food was good but the service was lacklustre to say the least. For a restaurant, paying higher than usual prices for drinks. A glass with ice is the least one would expect.

The food is great and has got a good variety. But the only issue is they give too much food such as rice, salad or chips. Due to this you can over eat if you’re eating alone, I recommend to lower the quantity of food when giving. When serving chips or rice give it a bowl as a quantity measurer.

I had the Mansaf. Wife had Matloubah Very authentic Arabic food from different countries of the Middle East. Felt like I was sitting somewhere in Jordan. Good value for money and amazing serving size. Friendly staff and met with the owner who was really friendly. Will definitely visit again

I went because they were hosting an open mic night and a friend was singing. The staff and restaurant were amazingly friendly and the atmosphere was very good. Comfortable seating and very relaxed. Food I tried (other people's) was great. You can have a shisha inside, which makes a nice change. I'm not sure what is being used, but I don't think it's tobacco, so theres no bad smell. No alcohol license or allowed on prem tho, which is fine but I wish I'd known before hand hence mentioning it here. I'll definitely go again with friends and family for food.

We went to the restaurant to get a shared platter for 2 to take away. Such a disappointment! Definitely, I believe that the good reviews are from friends or family of the owners. When we're going to eat later on, we realised the amount of food you get is ridiculous. The platter is totally overpriced for £27, you get only one rice in just a small container. You don't get any bread and the meat/chicken you get it's not for 2 people for sure. Then, only 1 garlic sauce and 1 chilli sauce of the size of a teaspoon, almost. My partner even called to the restaurant to complaining about the bread and amount of food and who answer said that we need to ask for bread as they don't sell bread. That's a lie as we we're at the restaurant before, ordered the exactly same thing and they gave us bread too. It's not a busy place at all, empty for the 2 times we went there and they could do so much better. Never again! It's just a shame that you can not give minus stars!

Milkshakes was runny and watery. Meat was poor quality. What they said was “Belgian Chocolate Crepe” was actually just Hersheys chocolate sauce. False advertisement

First time buyer and rather disappointed because food was very cold, couldn’t even eat the bread because it was cold and hard. Cold food is not palatable. Sorry. Think twice before ordering again.

Waited fifteen minutes for my order, repeated ping noise of the microwave in the kitchen - not sure if my order was microwaved but was very dry and close textured, didn't look grilled (lack of char) and may have been underdone. Salad was nice. Received incorrect side dish (cheese pastry but charged for lamb). Very disappointed. There were around five staff in the kitchen so could have prepared fresh and grilled to order. Might try crepe and coffee sometime but disappointed in the cooked offering.

We trailed to this restaurant after eating at their food truck in MK centre mall. Must say we made a good decision. This restaurant has Good portion sizes and tasty food. It is fairly huge and was empty on a Saturday night. We ordered the platter for two and it had all the grilled meat in it with the kebsa rice. Also we ordered fresh orange juice milkshakes and to our surprise they made it without sugar. The restaurant has a Shiah’s lounge as well , we didn’t use it . All in all good food and beautiful ambience , just what you need !!! Also they have a huge wings graffiti on a wall so do not miss taking a cute picture there 😊

Sheesha flavor and servicing is probably the best in Milton Keynes. Food portions are perfectly right for a middle eastern appetite and very tasty . Staff is nice, welcoming, very polite and friendly.

Absolutely happy to find this place. The food on point no matter what I ordered, the food always tasted 💯. A bonus having a shisha bar and the setting area is big and clean. Stuff are very friendly and customer service on point. Will definitely be coming back with my family next for another meal. Will recommend this place

Went to get a takeaway today. Phone dosn't work so went an ordered. The place was empty. It's a really nice venue and kitchen looks really clean. Sheesha area look nice and is well decorated. I ordered a lamb sharwarma wrap, chicken shawarma wrap and harra batata. I saw them microwaving the lamb and chicken instead of cutting freshly cooked from the rottiserie. I should have walked out but stupidly didnt. The harra batata was microwaved too.Got home and tried the wraps, the tahini tasted sour like it had gone off and the chicken and lamb were chewy. (what did I expect being microwaved). Totally disgusted, how can you microwave food and sell it to customers? A total waste of £18, went straight in the bin after one bite. Maybe on busy days like weekend its fresh i dont know, but i wont be going back. I was better off going to a kebab shop, at least its cooked fresh in front of you. Id give it less than a star if i could.

My wrap was cold to touch Milkshake completely melted Chips soggy and cold I had to reheat my food resulting in soggy cooked salad This isnt the first time my drink has been incorrect Didnt ask for sauce as i am allergic to eggs Wrap was still covered in garlic mayo Wallahi such a waste of £18.50 It seemed as if my food sat out waiting for a driver to collect the whole 45 it was late.
